That Cute Guy You Like?

She sat at the back of the class, not really paying attention to what Professor Peach was saying. She had far more interest in that blonde boy seated near the front. He was the one. She had always believed that when you saw 'the one' you just knew in your heart that they were the right one for you. There was no doubt in her mind. Jaune Arc was the one.

None of either of their teams were in that class, and when the Professor told the students to partner up she made a beeline for him. She even boldly bumped Ruby Rose out of the way to get to him. She stepped up beside him and asked to be his partner. He saw her and gave a small smile. He even valiantly tried to remember her name, though he did fail. She kindly reminded him, and then encouraged him to start on the assignment. They sat down together, and she felt her heart beating rapidly. He was right beside her.

Throughout the rest of the class, she continued to touch his hand "by accident" and blush profusely when he looked at her. When he dropped his pencil, she leaned down to pick it up at the same time he did. Their heads bumped together, and as they were rubbing their heads where it hurt, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed at the thought. Their heads had touched!

When the class ended and all the students stood up to leave, she turned to Jaune and told him that she liked being partnered with him. Now it was his turn to blush, and she wasn't sure if he was playing it up or not. She loved the way his hair fell around his face. His eyes shined when he smiled. She knew there were other girls nearer to him, but Pyrrha and Ruby were both their own kinds of socially inept. She could be their equal with ease, and there was no one else she had to worry about as competition.

He turned as if to leave, but then he turned back to look at her. And then he complimented her hair. As he walked away, her face turned cherry red. She hopped around from one foot to the other, struggling not to squeal in delight. He complimented her hair! She bolted out of the classroom and off toward the dorms, never stopping until she was safe in her team's room. She was breathless as she slid down the inside of the door. He teammates were all present, staring at her oddly as she sat on the floor giggling like... a lovestruck schoolgirl.

One of her teammates, a tall boy, questioned her first. "What's going on?"

She laughed childishly. "He talked to me!"

The other boy arched an eyebrow. "He? He who?"

"The boy I like."

The other girl on the team smiled happily for her friend. "What's he like?"

She stood up, twirling around the room in a daze. "He's the kindest, gentlest boy in the school. Funny and handsome too! He's just... everything about him is great! You'd like him."

The other girl was starting to worry. "What's his name, then?"

"Jaune Arc."

As she danced off to her bed, murmuring gleefully to herself, the other girl watched her intensely. 'So...' she thought, 'it is to be that we are nemeses. Very well. I will win Jaune, and you will wallow in sorrow and grief for eternity. Then, the world... no, the universe will be mine! HAHAHAHAHAHA!'

The tall boy interrupted her. "You're laughing maniacally out loud again. Stop it."

"Oh, sorry." Velvet Scarlatina then went and hid herself under the blanket on her bed, plotting and scheming about how she would take Jaune from her unsuspecting teammate. "Mwa ha... ha ha... AHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Jaune sat on his bed, quietly writing on a small card. He tapped the pen against his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm... what does a woman like her want...?"

Ren, the only other person in the room, looked up from his Tamagotchi. "A woman like who?"

Jaune was glad, truth be told, that Nora was distracting Pyrrha. The warrior girl had some sort of infatuation with Jaune that honestly disturbed him. If she knew he was writing a love note to someone, she would try to make sure it was directed toward her and her alone. He couldn't use that kind of help. He looked over to Ren. "I was in town last week and I met this really great girl. I asked if she wanted to meet me somewhere on the weekend and she agreed. She's, uh... wow, beyond description. Uh... how to describe..."

"Maybe you shouldn't be making a card, if you're meeting her in a few days. What's her name?"

"Yeah... I guess you're right. She's not really the type for cards, I guess." Jaune tossed the pen away and folded up the card. "Oh, her name? Her name's Penny."

Melanie's notes: Chapter twenty-five isn't a milestone? Odd... well, I give you the rest of Velvet's team. We don't even know their names yet, but the girl has already fallen in love with Jaune, causing her and Velvet to become rivals. Meanwhile, Jaune is going on a date with Penny? Ren is playing a Tamagotchi? Does Tamagotchi count as a game? What does Weiss think about all this? Is Gavin Free going to appear in the next chapter? Who's taken the key? Will I ever finish the next part of the Epic Rap War?

Miltia's notes: This soda tastes great.
