This is it, the last chapter for part one. I hope you have all enjoyed it so far and when I start the next part I will leave a link for it at the end of this one. I will be doing a bunch of one-shots, and a few other stories I have in mind.
Chapter 24
Lucifer watches Balthazar sleep with a small smile on his face. The blonde had been asleep all afternoon and Luce had come in about an hour ago. He had been planning and going through what his mate had said to him. He had a point. It wasn't that he wanted to really fight Michael, he wanted him to listen but he needed to seem like the winning force in order to do that. There was no way Michael was just going to talk to him if he thought he could just cover what had happened up. Balthazar yawned, stretching out and looked over at Luce.
"Good morning love." Lucifer chuckled, wrapping his arms around him and pulling him closer. He kissed softly along his temple. "its afternoon...I have been thinking about what you said." Balthazar looks up at him, with an arched brow, a small smirk on his face. He knew the minute he had mentioned Gabriel, Lucifer would have jumped at the chance. The two of them had been closer than thieves, growing up. They were the closest in age and had the most in common. Little rebels fighting for a good cause, getting into trouble just because they wanted to be helpful. As far as he had seen that hadn't changed for either of them.
"You just want to see your brother."
"I'm not going to lie, between you and him, you two were on my thoughts a lot and I worried about him. I knew he was likely to get himself in trouble. Yes I want to see him, but you were right about having a strong pack at my back. My pack is strong but still scattered and confused about new leadership and the only way Michael is going to stop long enough is if I have the upper hand. I want to go talk with this Winchester Alpha. Plus I barely met Castiel, he was a baby when I was framed. It would be nice to introduce myself and make the connection I never got to have with him. So you should get your lazy butt up so we can go meet them." He smirks back at his mate, tickling him gently making him squeal and squirm. He laughed, pushing Luce off of him. Seeing him a good mood was the best thing, and if joining with the Winchester pack helped when that, then he was glad to have brought it up in the first place. He got up off the bed, throwing clothes on and running his fingers through his hair. Luce waited by the front door and he joined him, walking out to the car.
Luce approached the door nervously when Balthazar next to him. The scouts had been very nice to let them in without much argument or a sign of aggression. He felt like he was expected and he supposed at least with Gabriel there he would be. Balthazar knocked on the door for him, taking his hand with a soft smile. There was laughter, and the door opened, a tall man leaning against the door-frame. Another peeked around him and Lucifer's eyes widen as he recognized it as Gabriel. From the light touches he assumed that the taller was his brother's mate. Gabriel's face dropped and moved to stand closer to the door.
"Lucifer..." Luce managed a small smile, even more nervous. The last time they had seen each other was when he was being arrested, not exactly the best last memory to have. In all honesty he had no idea, if Gabriel would want to see him. "Hey little brother." Gabriel hugged him roughly and he nearly lost his balance in surprise, his hand slipping out of Balthazar's as he returned the hug. Awkwardly patting his back. They had never done the hugging thing before. It was weird but it was nice.
"Its good to see you. I thought you would never come and visit. Oh...sorry." Gabriel pulled back, chuckling embarrassed before turning to his mate. "Um Sam this is my older brother Lucifer. Luce this is my mate, Sam Winchester." Sam smiled and held out his hand and Luce took it. "Pleasure to meet you, Sam. Not surprising my brother would pick someone much taller than himself, must be hard to find someone shorter. I was actually here to see your brother. I wanted to speak with him." Sam nodded, wrapping an arm around Gabriel.
"I like him short. Dean is in the living room with Cas, you are welcome to go ahead and go in there. Gabriel and Balthazar can go talk, I'm sure they both want to catch up as well. Gabriel has brought him up a few times." Balthazar grins, coming in, and tugging Gabriel along already talking while Sam leads Lucifer into the living room, walking over and talking to Dean. Dean cleared his throat, waving everyone else out of the room. Luce's eyes fell on the raven haired man sitting beside him, who must be Cas. He looked over at him and gave a small smile.
"My family seems to be wanting my attention more than normal. I've already had Raphael talk to me, I suppose you want something along the same lines. To join packs?" he had a deep voice but Luce could still see the young new born that wiggled in his arms when mom had let him hold him. He moved to sit down opposite.
"Its good to finally see you Castiel. You grew up very nicely, you were such a cute pup. Its been a very long time. Balthazar suggested the idea to me, that Anna suggested to him. I don't want to fight Michael, even though ripping his throat out would make me feel better. I understand why he did it...he was afraid. I just want to talk to him, explain how I feel but knowing him he'll think I'm there to fight. I just need a strong backing that he won't try for a fight so he'll listen. Plus joining packs might be good for both of us." Dean gave him a considering look before nodding.
"your pack nearly killed me. What makes you think I would trust them? I'm not saying its your fault but you are new here. They aren't exactly the best wolves in this city." Cas placed a hand on Dean arm when he tensed up. Luce smiled, unable to stop himself. It was good to see his siblings happy even under the situation.
"I'm sorry for what happened? It won't happen again. I've only kept those who are good and don't want to fight. I can tell, I lived among killers."
"Well at least it didn't make you disappointing in bed." Balthazar leaned over the edge of the couch, Gabriel beside him. Lucifer and Dean both looked over at them, rolling their eyes.
"I thought you two went to talk, not eavesdrop." Lucifer teased, patting the spot next to him and both came over. Not what he had meant but Gabriel was going to do what he wanted. That was something that wasn't bound to change. Gabriel stuck his tongue out. "I'm part of the high ranks, I'm allowed in the discussion and I have a better idea. Not that joining packs isn't a great idea, because it is. But you don't need to show force to talk to Michael. You just need to get him as far from Raphael as possible. When he's just with Adam, his mate and others he's alright. But Raphael brings out his worse and puts ideas in his head."
"And how would we get him away?" Castiel asked, giving his brothers a curious look. Both Balthazar and Gabriel grinned.
"We could go it. After all we just need one person to be a distraction, which Balthazar is great at and his annoying enough to Raphael it would work. And as one of the eldest Michael is bound to take an audience with me and to listen to me. So all we need now is a room set up for Luce and Michael to talk. Which there is one spare room." Points upstairs before getting to his feet. "I'm ready to go, so we should probably go ahead and do this."
"Right now?" Lucifer shook his head, rubbing his temples. Dean and Sam both smiled, chuckling and rolling their eyes. "This is how he normally is with his 'great' ideas." Dean said with a teasing tone to his voice and Gabriel flicked his tongue out at him.
"My ideas usually and always work. So let's go." Bounces on his heels as Balthazar kisses Lucifer softly before getting to his feet. Sam grabs Gabe's arm, nuzzling his nose.
"be careful and come back to me." Sam said softly with a light tone of worry in his voice. Gabriel had told him all about Raphael and even the parts about Michael when the mood struck him to be violent.
"I will be. His new mate has made him nicer than before. So going to give me a kiss?"
"when you come back, I will." Sam hugged him close before letting go and the two wolves left. Luce paced for the hour they were gone, he knew Gabriel could handle himself but he was worried, Balthazar had left for a reason and walking back in wasn't going to be doing him an favors. Sam watched him pace, looking up from the card game he was currently kicking Dean's butt in. He would be pacing to if his brother hadn't brought up the idea of playing this while they waited. Cas sighed softly, moving from Dean's side, and walking over to Lucifer, placing his hand on his elder brother's shoulder.
"Lucifer...it won't help to pace. They will be back soon. Let's sit down and talk while we wait." He leads him back to the couch, sitting down beside him. Soon enough the door opened and Gabriel and Balthazar walked in, with Michael behind them. Lucifer held back the growl, slowly getting to his feet and walking over to his brother, nodding for him to follow him upstairs. The others waited downstairs, the need for communication little as they tried to hear anything that was happening. So far it didn't sound like the two were ripping each other apart which was a good sign.
Michael sat down at the small table that had been put in the room, while Lucifer stood with his back to him. He didn't want to start off yelling but he was finding it hard. Biting down on his lip to keep himself calm. Finally after enough of the silence Lucifer spoke softly.
"I went to jail for you. For helping you. Why? Why do that? What happened was accident, you made it seem like I murdered them and I covered for you. Even though I was angry and hurt. I went to jail and you got to live just fine." Michael looked down at the table, playing his fingers along the edge. Jumping when Luce slammed his hands down on the table. "Answer me."
"Raph told me I had too. If I wanted to protect myself. I believed him, I thought someone would find out what had happened, that I had killed them. So I panicked."
"You listened to him, just like you always do. You can't even see what he's doing, can you? Leading everyone away, anyone he sees as a threat to your power, to his. He's using you. Me first, then Gabriel followed, then Castiel, then Balthazar and Anna. Can't you see how much of our family is gone on their own or in other packs because he has used you to chase them away." Michael opened his mouth to say something before shutting it and getting up and walking over to the window, taking a deep breath. If he thought about it, his brother was right. The only reason Adam wasn't gone was because he was stubborn enough to fight back, to show Michael what was going on. But for so long he had let him, he still did in a lot of situation but he didn't know what to do about it.
"So I chase him out, then who do I have? Just me and Adam. Not much of a pack. If he goes the rest will follow." Lucifer scoffed, shaking his head. "Then let them. let them go. You have a pack, we don't have to be fighting at each other's throats. We could just join packs, and more of our siblings would come back. You just need to make that choice.." He moved to stand beside Michael.
"When did you get so wise." He sighs softly, brushing a hand through his hair. "So that's it, I get rid of Raph and then suddenly everything is okay again?"
"No. You are going to have to work for it. I can't just forgive you, but I am willing to if you prove that you really want it. That's all up to you. Make your decision, go ahead and go back. Send me a message when you have picked what you want." Michael stood still as he left the room before following after him. He knew what his decision was but he still was dreading it. Adam would stand behind him on it but it would still be a blow, to watch his pack leave. Sighing he headed down the stairs, slipping out the front door. Lucifer watched him before turning his attention back to the others. Whatever the decision, he couldn't make Michael do the right thing. He couldn't push him with guilt either. If he was going to make a choice he would do it because he wanted to, because he believed it was right. Until then, Luce was going to make a new home. His pack would do well to learn from Dean and having someone to lean on and learn their experience with being a leader would be good. He had never had the chance before, prison wasn't a good place for learning.
He had more here than he ever could have thought about. He had a mate, a pack that was going to grow better and stronger, so much of his family was here and more had agreed to join his pack. Family and friends, it wasn't bad. He wanted Michael to make the right choice but if he didn't he would fight him if he was challenged but for now, he was willing to live in the moment.
"You look weird smiling." Dean said before Cas slapped his shoulder lightly. Lucifer rolled his eyes. "I've been told worse, brother in law." He smirked and both Balthazar and gabriel had to choke back laughter at the look Dean gave them all. Sam laughing softly from his place on the couch, head on Gabriel's laugh.
"Don't ever say that again...its weird and just..weird, so don't."
"Its a compliment Dean." Cas says softly, brushing his fingers through his mates hair, enjoying the laughter and good mood of the group. "Yeah well, its still weird, must be a thing in your family." There was a resounding slap and Dean tackled Cas to the couch, laughing softly and kissing him.
End of this part. I think its a pretty good ending, I am going to be taking a hiatus for around 3 months on this story. I am going to be posting as much of other ideas that I have in that time before coming back and I hope to get the rest of the part done before the premiere of season 10. I will post the link to the next part in this one and give an update on any bigger stories that will be up. I hope you enjoyed the first part. First time doing something multi chaptered and I hope the next part is even better than this one. I know there was a lack of sex, and I am going to make up for that in the rest of the things I plan to write Supernatural and Marvel related.
