~Elsa~
"Looks like I win. So much for being the champion." I say, with a proud smile.
We just got done having our snowball fight, and I beat him. He was obviously annoyed and kept insisting that he let me win.
"I told you, I let you win." He responds.
I roll my eyes. "I'm sure you did. Face it, Jack. You lost to a girl. Us women usually always win in battles anyway. You had it coming." I tease, as he huffs out a breath.
We see two shadows from above and we look up to see Astrid and Hiccup flying in the air. They landed in front of us, and I took a step back. I'm still not used to their dragons, and they scare the crap out of me.
"What are you two doing here?" Jack asks.
"Are we not allowed to say hello to you?" Hiccup says, not getting off of his dragon Toothless.
"No." Jack simply replies, and Hiccup laughs.
"We came to get Elsa. Flynn said something about school and how he's going to help you get internet classes or something along the lines." Astrid answers.
"I completely forgot about school! I have to go. Bye guys!" I say to them, and practically dashed out.
Astrid and Hiccup left in the opposite direction, possibly having another race, and Jack took off after me.
"So, what exactly do you want to be? Since you're going to college and stuff." Jack says, trying his best to start a conversation.
"I want to be an architect. Designing and constructing buildings and such." I answer him and was getting closer to the pole.
"That's pretty cool. Is that what you always wanted to do?" He asks, but I shake my.
"No. Growing up the only thing I wanted to do was to keep my powers in control. I always thought if I surpressed my powers and concealed my emotions it would. So far it actually seemed like it was in place, but lately I'm not so sure on things." I say, looking to the ground.
"Yeah, but you're not human if you don't feel or show your emotions." He states.
I still don't look him in the eye. He's right, however.
"Am I even human to begin with? I don't think humans are supposed to have powers like mine." I say.
"Do you know how many people would kill to have powers? There are tons of people who would give anything to have a special power. Most of those people just so happen to be kids." He says matter-of-factly.
"Well, I would give anything to get rid of them. So they can have my powers." I reply and fastened my pace.
Jack was floating around now and he stopped in front of me, blocking me from the doors that were right there in front of me.
"You still think they're a curse, don't you?"
I nod slightly, and he sighs.
"Elsa, how many times do we have to tell you? You're powers are beautiful. I think they are, the Guardians they are. Why can't you see what we see?" He says, almost sounding desperate.
"I don't know, Jack." I lied.
Well, it wasn't necessarily a lie. I honestly have no idea what I feel towards my powers. They say that my powers are beautiful, but how can something be beautiful if they killed a little girl?
"Elsa, you had fun today. You had fun with your powers. You were enjoying yourself! You beat the champion of snowball fights, and I didn't get hurt. I'm perfectly fine. Well, you kinda ruined my ego a bit, since you're a girl and you beat me, but..." He trailed off, and I playfully glare at him.
I smack him on his shoulder.
"That little speech was going pretty good until that ending, and I'm not a girl, I'm a 21 year old woman." I respond, while he rolls his eyes.
"Well, grandma, you look like you're 18. I don't know what stuff you're using, but it sure does work." He teases.
"Okay, don't call me 'grandma'. I'm not that old, and second...thank you for the sweet compliment. I try my best to stay young and healthy." I say with a smirk.
"Don't forget sexy." He says, earning another smack to the shoulder.
"Your flirting isn't getting you anywhere, sonny boy." I say in my best old lady voice. It works and we laugh.
Once we get closer to the Pole, I see Flynn standing by the doorway, wearing a blanket and drinking hot chocolate.
"It's about time you got here. I'm freezing!" He says to us.
"Oh, stop being a baby. It's not that cold." Jack scolds.
"Says the two people who are practically immune to coldness." He mutters.
"I didn't even say anything. Why are you waiting outside to begin with?" I ask, and walk inside. Jack follows and Flynn shuts the door.
"I was waiting for you. Plus, I thought Rapunzel was with you. I haven't seen her." He responds.
I grew worried. What if Pitch has her? I wish I knew what he looked like, or where he's at. Things would be so much easier for us all if we knew.
"You don't think..." I trail off, but Flynn understands perfectly.
"I hope to God no." He says, wearing the same expression as me.
"Last time I saw her she was in the Kingdom of Arendelle." Jack joins in.
Arendelle. Another familiar word, and another familiar feeling it has on me.
"And you didn't bring her back with you?" Flynn says. He was trying his best to stay calm, but I could see how mad he was, and could see fear in his eyes.
"I just got her back after 200 hundred years, Jack. I can't lose her! If Pitch has her-"
"Whoa, Flynn! Calm down. Everything is going to be fine. You told me that yourself. Now it's your turn to listen to your words." I say as I try to comfort him.
He took a deep breath, and calmed down.
"You're right. I'm sorry, I'm just worried. That's all. It's just, last week I was living a normal life like you, but now it just got turned upside down." He says.
He must have been waiting for her for a long time. I could see bags under his eyes. Poor guy must be really tired.
I give him a small smile. "If being an immortal human and having ice powers in considered normal, then I definitely agree with you."
He chuckles lightly. "Come on. Let's get your school stuff out of the way. I got her from her, Jack." He tells him, and Jack nods.
"Thank, MiM! She's so annoying, and boring." He teases.
"Whatever. You were having just as much of fun as I was! You're just mad that I beat you." I state, but he rolls his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Well, I'm gonna go visit Jamie. I'll see you guys later." He says, and flies off.
"Who's Jamie?" I say to Flynn.
"A kid Jack knows." He replies, and we started making our way.
"Oh, okay. It's Johnny coming with us too?" I ask, but he shakes his head.
"He's with Mavis in Transylvania, I believe." He answers.
"I wonder if he lived a normal life like we did before he met Mavis." I say, trying to strike a conversation.
"Probably. My life wasn't really all that normal in my time period. I was married to a girl with Magic hair for Pete's sake. I was able to stop two wars, and was turned immortal. My life never really was normal to begin with. No matter how hard I tried to make it be like that."
I nodded in agreement.
"You know," I begin, "since you're helping me out I'm going to buy you some coffee. I think we both deserve it for our messed up lives."
He smiled and parts my back. "Thanks. I could really use some coffee."
"Well, then what are we waiting for? Let's go." I say, and we finally leave.
"Dude, if Rapunzel finds out the things you do to get what you want she'd be so furious." I say to Flynn.
We got all my school stuff handled, and were now sitting down in a booth. Flynn was able to get us free coffees at Starbucks, and all he did was give a girl his number! He was flirting with her non-stop, but, hey, I got some coffee so I guess I'm good.
"Key word: if. But she won't because if she does, you'll never get a free coffee again." He threatens, and I pretend to be scared.
"You wouldn't dare!" I joke.
"Ha! Try me." He jokes back.
"Elsa? Long time no see." A voice said from behind me. Oh God! I know that voice.
Hans.
"Are you following me?" I ask, but he chuckles.
"If I did, would you blame me? You're gorgeous. I'm sure every guy follows you." He replies, causing me to blush.
"Um..thank you, I guess. You're not really following me, are you?" I ask him, my tone serious.
This guy is cute and all, but if he's following me then that crosses the line.
"No, but it's kinda freaking me out how we always met like this. What are you doing here anyway?" He asks.
Flynn snorts beside me. Hans and I look at him, but he doesn't stop.
"Did you seriously just ask that question? We're at Starbucks for coffee. What else?" He says.
"Flynn! Stop being rude." I scold, but Hans only laughs.
"That's quite a protective boyfriend you have there." He says. This time I laugh.
"He's not my boyfriend, he's my..."
What do I say? I can't say grandfather, because I'm not for sure if he really is my grandfather, and because he definitely doesn't show the part.
"… older brother." I finish.
It's not really a lie. He is more like a brother to me. I can't imagine him as my boyfriend or grandfather. That's just weird.
Plus, my grandmother (possibly) is married to him. Speaking which, I really need to do a little research on my family tree. It would really help if I knew my last name.
As I said that Flynn was my brother, Hans looked so relieved. I wonder why?
"Oh, that's good." He says.
"Why do you say that? You think you actually have a chance with my sister? I don't think so. We're leaving, let's go Elsa." Flynn orders. I'm surprised he went along with it and called me 'sister'.
To be honest. I didn't really want to leave. I actually wanted to stay and talk to Hans, but I know I shouldn't get closer to him. If I did, the both of us would get hurt.
"Sorry. Gotta go." I say, sheepishly.
"Wait! Can I say something crazy first?" He asks.
"Um...sure." I say.
Before he says anything, he glances at Flynn.
"Could you give us a minute?" I say.
Flynn groans and walks outside.
"So what was it you wanted to say?" I urge him.
"I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me." He flashes me a smile.
To bad he was the only one smiling. This was all so sudden! I barely know the guy. Plus, I've never been on a real date before.
"I'm sorry, but I can't." I answer.
His smile fades. "Why not?"
"I barely know you, Hans." I reply.
"That's the whole point of dating. You get to know someone better." He states.
Smartass.
"Tell you what. Next time we run into each other, I promise I'll go out with you. Deal?" I offer.
He looked a little disappointed, but accepted.
"Alright. Deal. So I'll see you around?"
"Maybe." I reply, and get up to meet Flynn outside.
"So what was that about?" He asked.
"Nothing." I answer.
I suddenly forgot that I was mad at him. I forgot about my powers and I forgot about Pitch and the end of the world and stuff.
The only thing on my mind right now was Hans. Hans. Am I really falling for a guy I don't even know?
"Elsa?"
"Yeah, Flynn?"
"Didn't you get vanilla?" He asks.
"Yeah...?" I reply, unsure of what he was getting at.
"Then why does yours say mocha instead of vanilla?" He says and I look at my cup.
"They probably mixed it up by mistake. I'm not complaining though. It's delicious." I say and take a sip of my drink.
Flynn shrugs. "Whatever you say."
We continued walking, but all I could think about was a pair of green eyes and side burns. There's no way I'm ever going or in public again. I'm not ready for dating yet, even if I'm 21 years old.
But still. I've never been asked out before. So even though I declined him, his asking me is making my heart pound.
For the first time in forever… someone noticed me.
a/n: Elsa! You're wrong! Jack noticed you! Y U SO stupid! LOL JK. Here's chapter 25 :) please review (fyi there's not going to be a date anytime soon) hope you enjoyed!
