Chapter 25

I just finished squeezing into my wedding dress, which my soon-to-be mother-in-law was disappointed with. She wanted me in something flamboyant and princess-y, but I wanted simple and elegant. When I told her I felt most beautiful in my simple, satin, A-line dress with a slight tail and slip of embroidery, along with a scrunch on my waist, she conceded.

"Here comes the bride" began to play on the piano and violin (courtesy to Tamaki and a miss Hino Kahoko who's been head violinist for a few a years now for the Hitachiin residence). With a deep breath I smiled at my dad, who began to walk me down the aisle towards Mr. Kaoru Hitachiin, where I'd become his Mrs. Hitachiin under the stained glass windows of the church.

I'll be quite honest; I was so dazed for the whole vow-giving that I don't remember anything really. I was so shocked to even be giving my vows. I was only brought back when the priest told us,

"You may now kiss the bride."

Trust me; you didn't have to tell Kaoru twice. His arm was around my waist and his lips were on mine before I could say "What" since I'd been dazed the whole time. My only question as we kissed was how long was acceptable before people just pulled you apart or shoved you in a room to yourselves.

"You may be married now, but that's still my little girl." My dad told us after about thirty seconds.

Kaoru pulled away, biting back a smirk, his eyes humorously saying all. "Will this be the family reunions?"

I rolled my eyes and whispered, "My end will be harder," before pushing him towards my dad.

Being the American he is, Pops took hold of Kaoru's hand, giving it a firm shake unlike some of those wimpy-ass guys where you shake their hand and think "The heck was that?" when he let go of my husband's hand, he pointed at me with coked brow. "Now you listen to me. You've got the deal sealed now. I don't care what the law says; you live with her until you die. If you want an escape, I have a very large imagination. As for how to treat her, act as though you're still just dating and you're trying to keep her on your arm by giving her gifts for no apparent reason, because if she wants to leave you? I'll be all for it. I like you, son. No worries about that. But, as I said before, she's still my little girl and you best be treating her right."

"No worries, sir. I have all intention to treat her like a queen."

"That's my boy." My dad pulled Kaoru into one of those hand-clasping guy hugs, giving him a pat on the back.

For a few seconds, I watched my parents and my Mr. Hitachiin talked animatedly about things when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see my new in-laws smiling at me, except Agetha who's yet to warm up to me. Yuzuha (as she demands I call her by her first name) wrapped me in a warm, motherly embrace.

"Oh, I'm so happy Kaoru gave me a daughter-in-law as lovely as you!" She stepped back and looked me over. "And you know, I have to say, now that you've walked down the aisle, I can't imagine you having worn anything else."

I chuckled. "Thank you. You know, I'm quite glad you like me. It makes family dinners so much easier."

"I agree completely." She told me.

"Alright, ladies. Is the father-in-law not allowed a hug as well?" Sho asked. I laughed lightly as he Yuzuha took the baby so I could give Sho a hug. Despite the fact that he and I haven't met very many times, perhaps a dozen or so total, I do think of him as my other father, similar to Kaoru and my parents.

"It's good to see you, Sho-sama. You really should come by more often."

In the background I heard, "DADDY WANTS TO SEE HIS LITTLE GIRL!"

Sho stepped back with a humored smile. "It would appear Tamaki thinks the same of you."

"Who's the a-hole who called my daughter his little girl?!" My dad called out. Half the room turned to stare at Tamaki, who went and hid behind Mori-sempai. I let out a long breath, not sure whether to laugh or feel embarrassed by my friends and family.

"Hour one of marriage and already my dad is sending death threats to people." I muttered, a smile on my lips.

From here, only God knows what will happen. We could become millionaires, or go bankrupt. We could have a dozen kids, or be given none. However, I did know this:

I'm going to stick by Kaoru, thick and thin, no matter what.
