Chapter 24: The Real Reason Behind My Acts
Normal POV
Lucy took in a deep breath letting out a loud and frustrated sigh, as she had been standing in front of the two opposition turns. Then, as soon as she was about to turn, it clicked. The whole puzzle to the maze, it was so simple that you would overlook it. She turned around and walked out of the maze to come face to face with the woman again.
"What you give up?" She smiled cockily
Lucy just shook her head with an expected smirk on her face at the woman "Don't act dumb, give me the coin already"
Her smile disappeared "You didn't even find the exit"
"I found the entrance, last time I checked it's a way out too"
She looked down, shaking from anger, then dug in her pocket and threw the coin to Lucy's face. She quickly caught it with reflex "Get out of my sight, Human" The word slithered out of her mouth like a snake
"Demon and Angel too, Get it right" Lucy was fed up with her rudeness
'What was that?" She said under her breath, there seemed to be something powerful lurking from her
"Im not just a Human, and if I was I would appreciate if I got a little more respect. I did nothing to you"
"I owe nothing to you, just get out"
"You owe an apology" Lucy released some of her power, letting it ooze out
She looked up finally, and she started to open her eyes slowly, but before she could open them completely a hand covered them. "I left you alone for a minute and you're already getting into a argument"
A man with a fully white suit with a red tie to match her dress appeared out of thin air
"Kiri-kun" He grunted in response
"Control you're friend, there was no need to be so rude "
"I already told yo-" The woman was cut off by the man "I apologize for her actions, she didn't mean to offend you"
"The hell she did" Lucy got a tick mark on her forehead now "I don't want an apology from you- matter of fact just take me to the next person because I can't stand being around her anymore"
"Just follow me Ms. Heartifilia" At this point he escorted Lucy back to the door, leaving the Woman behind, after whispering a few words into her ear making her settle down some
After he opened the door they were now into another room, but this one didn't look like a room at all, it looked more like a forest
"What is this place?" Lucy asked looking around in awe, the man didn't answer though, he only continued to walk straight
"Hey….." Something was off about this guy… and Lucy knew it. It didn't take this long the last time and they've been walking for about 20 minutes already.
Lucy was getting tired of walking and tapped the guy on his shoulder to get his attention, at this point he stopped, still staying silent
"How much longer till we get there?"
Still no answer..
She turned him around "Are you ignoring me?" She backed up at the sight….
At Fairytail
Gray POV
Awh man, it's already been about 2 hours since Lucy collapsed and they expect me to take her…. I barely use my room myself….. Whatever I cant be worried about that. I just need to focus on taking care of her.
I looked over to her sleeping body in the hospital bed. I picked her up and started to head out for the day.
Everyone in the guild stared "I'll be going for a while!" I yelled, though they all knew why already
Walking down the street with Lucy in my arms, her hair swaying back and forth as I took long strides.
As I walked up to the apartment door I used one arm to prop Lucy up and the other I used my Make-Magic.
"Ice- Make… Key!" A small house key formed in my hand which I used to open the door
I picked Lucy back up and walked Inside, closing the door behind me, I felt a breeze and smiled "Ahhhh the cold feels good" I put Lucy in my bed underneath the covers, I walked over to the thermostat "54 dgrees…."
I glanced back at Lucy and turned it up to 70. Sighing, I walked over to the bed and stood over Lucy
"Oi…Why'd you leave huh?" I knew I wouldn't get an answer from her… Her red hair which I was not familiar with caressed her face
"I have to wait even longer to talk to you…. To catch up with you.." I moved the hair out of her face with my hand "To meet you all over again… because you aren't the same as before"
"Don't leave me….like those two did…." I clenched my teeth, holding back my feelings
"GRAYYYYY~!" I heard a small voice bang on my door breaking me out of my phase
Walking toward the door and opening it I met face to face with Flame breaths flying cat "Lucy is here right?"
"Yeah Happy" He came in and I closed the door, He flew straight to the bed and stood on her chest
He let out a sigh "She hasn't woken up yet after all… I missed my fish to check on her"
"Damn cat, don't think with you're stomach"
"Gray do you have anything in here besides ice-cream" Without my knowing he already floated to my kitchen and was raiding the freezer
"Oi at least ask before you take my food!" I walked over and shoved him to the side, pulling out some small cut fish in a plate
"What is this?" He stood on the table as I set it next to him "Salmon, Not cooked yet"
That blue cat already had one in his mouth and was mumbling "I diwent Know Ish-mashes cook. Downt yoh lish your foed cowld?"
"….. I prefer cold food, but I wasn't always an ice mage so enjoy cooked food occasionally" I rolled up my sleeves and turned on the stove, and took out a pan from the cabinet
"So what are you doing here Happy?"
I heard him speak from behind my back "Obviously here for Lucy. I watch over her while Zeref isn't here"
Snapping my head back I half way coughed unbelievably "Zeref?"
He had a guilty look on his face and covered his mouth looking the other way "What about him?"
"Why does Lucy know Zeref? What's going on?" I held him by his backpack and glared at him
His tail wagged in the air and he shook his head "I think Lucy should explain the rest to you but she's been training with him since she left… At least that's what she told me"
"…..Training with Zeref…" I glanced over at her "Just what went down with you these past years"
With Lucy
Lucy POV
"Father?" I backed up, as he looked angrily at me….. More like disappointed
"Lucy, look at you all grown up" He adjusted his tie a bit with his hands, looking down on me
"What are you doing here…. You-" I took another step back, his features looked so realistic
"Tch, Look I don't have time to discuss trivial matters with you" He pulled a pen and notepad out of his suits inside pocket, Clicking the pen loudly, scribbling notes down "As my daughter I expected you to take over the Heartifilia Estate and be married already, but you are WAY behind my schedule"
"Of course. Even after you die your still focused on your work"
"Look Lucy, next time you decide to do one of you're….. Adventures of whatever you want to call this…. Get the work done first…. Matter of fact you should just be focused on your work"
"I told you already Father. I wish to be a mage"
He sat behind his desk. I looked around and the whole forest turned into his office in an instant
"A mage huh? Stop with the games. You don't even have your guild mark anymore" He shifted through his paperwork not looking at me "At this point in time no one would come for you if I locked you in this mansion"
"I'm not staying here"
"You're always so reluctant to you're future. Why cant you just listen to what I tell you! He slammed the paper on the desk and stood up quickly, walking to the window and looking outside "Go to you're room till you realize your mistake"
"I'm not going anywhere." As if on que the doors behind me opened and two shadowy figures walked into the room
"Please escort her to her room"
My hands shook angrily as they tried to grab me and direct me out, I shook them off of me and angrily walked towards the desk
"Go" He never turned around to face me
I put my hands under the desk and I flipped it, Papers flying all over the floor, Then I kicked it to the corner of the room
"Lucy!" He turned around and glared at me
Laughing dryly I answered "You finally look at me huh Papa?"
Only thing he could do was stay quiet
"I might not be in the guild anymore, but there is plenty of people who I love and don't wish to leave. You will NOT order me around like you think anymore, Im not the Lucy I was when I first left, I'm stronger and I don't have to rely on anyone to take care of me. We've already been over this… I will not stop being a Mage to take over you're work. I have to finish important stuff myself…..With or without your consent, I will still do this. You and mama didn't care what anyone said when you met. I know you're just trying to protect me from getting into anymore danger, but…I've already started…. And everyone is relying one ME this time to finish it"
I breathed heavily after my speech, staring at my father who was now walking towards me.
Bracing myself I tensed up and got my foot ready to step back but before I could go he grabbed me and hugged me. "I'm sorry…..I'm sorry Lucy" Holding my head in one hand and the other around my back I felt my eyes tear up
"Seens like you saw past my plan… I was always hard on you just cause I wanted you safe…. I didn't want you to disappear like you're mother. Please forgive me for being selfish. I should've listened to what you wanted" I saw the walls behind him begin to peel off
"W-whats going on" I wipped my face
"I'm going to leave soon" He let go of me and looked around at the room that seemed like it was melting sadly
"We cant stay here papa! Let's go!" I pulled on his hand and tried to run out of the doors but It disappeared I franticly looked around for another exit
"Lucy I cant.." His legs started to turn into bright yellow dots, dissolving quickly
The floor started to collapse from under us "Papa wait. Don't go. I want to talk to you more." Tears again formed in my eyes
His big hands landed on my check and wiped the tears from my face "Now Now Lucy. I taught you not to cry so easily" He chuckled
"B-B-But-" I really tried to have something come out of my mouth but it seemed like the time was gone. Once again
He was already all the way up to his waist "Seems like time is up" He laughed "Wish we could've had more time…but before I go I wanted to tell you something I couldn't tell you before"
The floor was closing in on us quickly
This was the last smile I seen from my Father "I'm proud to have you as my daughter, You are a proud Heartifilia, Remember that, always. I'm sure you're mom is as proud as I am. I'm sorry I didn't show it while I was alive, please try to understand….. I love you"
"Papa…" I went to hug him and his body busted into a whole bunch of yellow dots and floated away. I felt my heart drop and I shut my eyes tightly holding back everything I felt. The floor under me collapsed and I started to fall into a black world
^^ You like it? How did this one go? I swear this little scene will come into place soon lol depending on what i want to do for my next chappy.
