So, it s been ages. I don t even kwow if someone will continue reading this. But I felt like I had to see this story thru.

So to whoever is reading this, hope you enjoy it and I will update soon.

The kiss was short and sweet, but much to Quinn s dismay it was over before it began. When she re-opened her eyes, she saw Rachel standing by the window, the faint light of the street shaping her body, a lighting struck and for a futile moment, Quinn was able to see the brunette s face, the fear, the trembling, and the uncertainty. It was all there, and Quinn knew she had to make it right.

She got up slowly and walked towards Rachel with an unusual calm. She touched one of Rachel s fingertips with her hand and slowly interlaced their hands together. As she got closer she could feel Rachel s breathing becoming heavier, she could see the shape of the brunette s chest going up and down, both their hearts racing, both the bodies shaking. The blonde closed the gap between them with an intense and deeper kiss, one that lasted a second and a lifetime all together. They explored each other's mouths with tenderness and caution. They stroke each other's hair and closed their eyes with their foreheads pressed together.

After a while, Rachel finally spoke

- What was that? – It was almost a whisper and it contained so much of what they still couldn't understand

- I don t really know – Quinn answered – but it felt like for once everything is right.

Rachel smiled as relief washed over her body. It did feel exactly like that. She was still feeling uncertain about so many things. She had been hurt by Quinn, she had been mocked so many times by the very object of her most deep affection, she was scared to death, but at the same time, she could not help this enormous joy that was taking over her body. This new desire, this complicity, this love.

She kissed Quinn once more and they stayed like that, kissing by the window, for an hour, and they might would have stayed forever, hadn't it been for the heavy rain and one particular strong thunder that broke them out of their spell. Rachel was still afraid of the heavy storm and Quinn was simply numb with happiness.

- We should lie down. Try to sleep maybe? – Quinn asked. She was eager to cuddle with Rachel, to feel the scent of her skin as she placed kisses on her neck, she couldn't wait any longer and she grabbed Rachel s hand and motioned for the bed, before she could even walk a step, Rachel stopped her.

- Quinn … - the brunette sounded unsure of what to say next – I don't …. You do know nothing is going to happen tonight? Right?

At first Quinn didn't understand, she was so caught up in her own fantasy of kissing Rachel and smelling her skin and such that it took her a minute to put two and two together, but once she got what Rachel meant she smiled and approached her once more

- Rachel, to me this already means the world. Nothing else needs to happen until we are both ready to trust each other completely. I won´t do anything to make you feel uncomfortable around me.

Rachel smiled and mouthed a weak thank you. Quinn stroke her cheek

- You are welcome. Now, should we go to bed?

Rachel nodded and both girls got into bed facing each other, at first they were unsure of what to do, how to behave, but slowly their own bodies were motioning to find each other, and before either of them could know it they were drifting off to sleep in a tight beautiful embrace.

Quinn woke up first. The sun shone weakly from the window and the blonde couldn't realize if it was incredible early or just cloudy. She was about to reach for her cellphone to check the time when Rachel opened her eyes and smile at her

- Hey you – the brunette said sleepily

Quinn was beyond herself with happiness-

- Hey yourself. How did you sleep?

- Amazing – Rachel smiled – You?

- Best night of my life – Quinn smiled and motioned for a kiss but Rachel put her hand on top of the blonde s mouth immediately

- You are not kissing me until I brush my teeth

- Oh! Come on – Quinn protested

- Forget it. Not happening - Rachel smiled but suddenly she frowned – I don t have a toothbrush here!

- I will give you a new one. I changed them rather regularly. So I always have a spare

Quinn got up and walked towards the bathroom, got the toothbrush and handed it over to Rachel

- There. Now you can brush your teeth, use the bathroom, etc. I will go to make us some breakfast, ok?

- Thanks Quinn, it's a relief you have a spare toothbrush just today – Rachel was about to enter the bathroom but was pulled into an embrace by Quinn instead. Her head bury in the brunette hair, her smell so intoxicating, she was beyond happy. Quinn broke the embrace and smile at Rachel

- Use the toothbrush and leave it by my sink – she went over to the door but before she got out the room she looked at Rachel again – this way you can have a toothbrush on your own here.

With that, Quinn closed the door leaving a open mouthed Rachel behind. She smiled to herself, she knew she had surprised Rachel with that remark, she also knew that both of them were please at the thought of Rachel becoming a regular in Quinn s bed.

When Quinn finally checked the time, she saw it was 8.00 am, extremely early for a Saturday. She had mentioned Rachel that she could have a shower if she wanted and she would use her mother´s bathroom to brush her teeth and shower herself. She didn't know when her mother would be home, the weather was still awful, not as bad as the night before but awful enough. It seemed as if it were about to rain any second now.

Quinn was ready sooner than Rachel so she went downstairs to make some coffee and there she suddenly realized she did not have anything vegan for Rachel to have as breakfast. So she grabbed her car keys, wrote a note to Rachel that said "be right back" and stormed off to the one vegan store that existed in Lima which she prayed was open.

Luckily for her it was, and a very much satisfied Quinn returned home with a mix for vegan pancakes, that she planned to have in store for some other occasion and blueberry vegan muffins for today. She had asked the shop owner if she knew Rachel, it was the only store in Lima after all, the owner had told her all about Rachel and what her favorite vegan products were. So Quinn knew the muffins to be winners.

When she opened the door and went into the kitchen with the groceries she was startled by the sight of her mother and Rachel drinking coffee and talking. Quinn opened her eyes big and her mother burst out laughing

- Don t seem too surprised my dear – Judy said – I still live here as well

- Mum! I didn't expect you so early – Quinn was still standing in the middle of the kitchen with the bag on her hand – So, you …met Rachel.

- I did – Judy looked at Rachel and smiled – Rachel was pouring some coffee when I got in, she explained that she was here for a project after school and she spent the night, you know, given the storm.

Quinn felt relieved, of course Rachel had said the most obvious and brilliant explanation. Her mother didn't stand a chance. Slowly, the blonde composed herself and started putting the groceries away.

- She did, yeah! The weather was just awful. I went out to get Rachel some vegan breakfast , I felt bad we didn't have a thing for her to eat here

- Oh dear, are you vegan? – Judy looked concerned- You are right Quinnie, that was very considerate of you

Rachel saw the whole exchange without saying a word. She was amused by the relationship between mother and daughter. If Quinn saw how affectionate she was with her fathers she would definitely had a stroke. Suddenly Rachel felt bad for Quinn. Her mother seemed like a nice lady and all, but you could tell from miles away that they were a work in progress and that this communicating thing was difficult to both of them. However, she put her thoughts aside when Quinn handed her a muffin with a smile and sat next to her with her own cup of coffee. Quinn's mother started talking about her night over at her friend and the three of them ended up having a pleasant breakfast together.

After breakfast Judith went upstairs and the girls went out to the garden, they were cautious about touching and kissing, Judith s window was right above them, but they still got to talk a lot. There was so much they did not know about the other. That surprised them both, they had known each other for so long and at the same time they were perfect strangers that were meant to fall in love.

Around noon, Rachel announced that it was time for her to go home. Quinn asked her to stay for lunch, but the brunette said she had to see her fathers and that if Quinn wanted they could meet up later for a walk or an afternoon coffee. Quinn was beyond herself. She said yes and Rachel went to the kitchen to say goodbye to Judith. Quinn accompanied her to her car. They kissed goodbye in the closed garage and then Rachel got up and got the car out. She waved goodbye to Quinn from the window with a big smile and the blonde blew her a kiss. Rachel laughed, blew one back and then drove off the street.

Quinn stood there watching the car disappear, she couldn't believe her luck. She was so excited and scared at the same time. She had no idea what had happened. She had no idea love could be such a powerful feeling. Last month had been one of the most torturous times of her life, and she knew torturous well: she had been pregnant and scared, she had been rejected by her parents, and she had been kicked out of her childhood home. But this had been a different level of suffering, even a more excruciating pain. And now, all that despair was gone and had been replaced with a wonderful bliss and joy of living. It was a dangerous game, Quinn knew it, and it was going to be a long ride, Rachel was still cautious around her, still finding out if she could trust the blonde. Quinn smiled to herself, she would make it right. She had all the time of the world to do so. With that in mind, she closed the door.

Little did she know, someone was watching from afar.
