To Ever Love Such a Devil (jin kazama love story) Chapter Twenty-Five– Midnight Runs

Sorry it's been a long time since I uploaded a Jin Kazama chapter! But here we are! A song will be playing during a scene and it's Tekken 5's opening song, Sparking. Listen on YouTube or you can get it on iTunes. Onwards!

Jin and you, along with your father, Alison and Stephine arrive at the airport.

"I can't wait to go home!" Says Alison, who is stretching after a long drive.

"Me too." Says Steph.

"Why are you going to Manhattan anyway?" You ask.

"Because we got accepted to New York University." Alison says, with a sorrow face.

"You did!?" You say in excitement.

"It was our dream to go to school together. The three of us. We could live in the dorms, have parties and be on the track team. We…were gonna ask you of your acceptance letter."

"Yeah, but when you told us you were going to Yakushima-" Interrupting Steph.

"You thought I would stay for good. I was planning to come back, since it was only a two week session. Yeah, I was planning to go with you, but…" Looking at Jin, "There's someone here, important to me." Steph smiles.

"Come on."

The ride is long. You listen to your iPod and Jin next to you. His eyes are closed, but he's not sleeping; more like in deep thought. Across from you are your friends, looking at a Cosmo magazine and your dad, who really looks like he is sleeping.

That was the dream. The three of you to go to New York. Stephine with her Business Management, Alison with her Nursing and you with Natural Science. After your mom got remarried, her attitude changed. You couldn't wait five months; you needed out now. Originally, you wanted to be in Journalism, but at the end of May is when you decided to forget about it and find something immediately. Luckily, your Aunt and Uncle were able to get you enrolled in Japan. You would take the sessions after you graduated high school.

Your dad was there, along with your Aunt and Uncle and your mom, well, let's say as soon as they said, 'Sara Elizabeth Williams', you walk to receive your diploma and when you sat down with your class, she left the ceremony.

Then a few weeks later, you left your life in L.A., which was the best decision you made. You met the man and the love of your life, even if things went far less than a few months. ~sighs~ Stupid young love. Hey, never did you say you hate it. Just didn't think it would happen to you. But, you didn't regret it.

Finally, you arrive and Alison and Stephine take a cab to Manhattan and your dad, Jin and you pile in your dad's car that's sitting at the airport.

"It's been too long. So long." You say.

"It's only been a few months, honey." Your dad tells you.

"I know, Dad." Your dad drives inside the city, which you don't understand why; you dad lives on the outside of the city, right? Pulling up, you see…an apartment? You all went inside and…well…

"I know, I know, it's a piece of shit place, but, this is all I can do." The walls are such a broken grey concrete and spider cobs are formed on the walls. The floors are dusty and the wood lost it's once beautiful shines. It's only ¼ of your old bedroom. His bedroom, is actually the living room.

"Oh, dad."

"I know, I know," Digging in his pocket, "Here; I'll give you two money for the hotel." Jin raises his hand,

"There will be none of that."

"Dad…I thought you were living at the farm?" He's scratching his head, like he got caught in a big lie.

"I, uh, well…"

"Dad?"

"Allen?"

"I…had to put it up for mortgage."

"Dad! Why didn't you tell me!?"

"I want to show you that I can do it. But, I'm such a failure." You walk over to him, ready to burst to tear. You hug him,

"Daddy, I'm proud of you and I'm happy. You're my dad; I'll always love you."

"I really fucked up, Cadence. I really did." You look at Jin with a concern look, hoping he read your mind on what to do. He turns his face away. With loss of hope,

"*ring ring*" Your father's phone goes off and he answers,

"Hello?...Yes this is…uh huh…uh huh…yes, I know her…Really!?" His eyes is glowing, "So if I 'surrender' the farm to her along with the mortgage-… That's great! Thank you so much! Bye-bye." He hangs up.

"Who's that?"

"That's the bank. You remember Marissa right?" As you remember the short, orange, curly hair and blue eyes, pale skin, peachy lips woman. She's been dating your dad for about six months. She's nice and there's nothing wrong with her. You just didn't picture your dad being with anyone else.

"Yes, I remember."

"She's agreeing to save the farm! She's even willing to pay the mortgage off."

"That's great, dad!" You smile; Marissa is in the Urban Farming department at a company she's working for. Although, you kind of realize something,

"And when we marry, whenever that will be, she'll hand the farm back to me. That farm is my life! We are headed out if this shithole!"

"Dad…what about your job in Yakushima?" He becomes silent.

"Oh, I forgot about that."

"Allen, if I can make a suggestion." Jin says and you two look at him, "Why not bring everything and ship it to Japan? We can make a replica?" Your dad rubs his stubble chin,

"That's not a bad idea, son. I didn't think of it like that. That's a good idea. But, I'm gonna need some help moving some stuff." As he looks at you,

"Don't worry, Dad. I'll stay here and help you." You look at Jin, "I got a feeling this moving process is going to be a while. Like a month or two. What do you plan to do?"

"I can get some of my ex co-workers to help move the stuff. It's just unpacking when I get there that I'll need some help on." Your dad plans out loud

"If you got it under control here, then I'm going back to the Zaibatsu." You give an upsetting and disappointing look to Jin.

"You're not gonna go back right away?"

"No. I'll leave first thing tomorrow morning." You nod your head. It seems like you'll be away from Jin for a while.

Your dad had Jin and you to stay at the farm since Marissa is now able to save it. Your dad explains the situation to Marissa about the plans; after careful consideration, she was okay about it. Her parents were at the retirement age and planning to move away to the countryside; they willingly took the offer. Marissa makes a beautiful turkey dinner, with the mash potatoes and the good stuff. Jin's super quiet the entire night. Worrying about the company, you assume. Can't blame him, really. He occasionally join in a conversation, but still stays silent.

"So, you two rushed in this relationship, didn't you? This generation has no sense of patience, does it?"

"Speak for yourself, Allen. When we first met, the first thing you said was 'Friday at 7:00pm?'"

"That's because I didn't want anyone to get a hand on you and your beautiful face." As he eats his green beans.

"I'm sure that's what these two were thinking, too." Marissa smiles.

"Eh…Sara," (author's note: no marissa don't have a clue on real name) "How about you take a ride on Midnight before it actually becomes midnight."

"Midnight?" Jin asks.

"Sara's horse. Her very first pet."

"Though I pay the bills." Says your dad.

"Sure, dad." Finishing the last bit of food on your plate. You pick up the dishes from the table and place them in the sink, already filled with hot water and soap.

You walk to the barn, and there, is your black and white gypsy horse, Midnight. She whinnies in happiness. You open her gate,

"Nice to see you, too." She walks out and you get on her, without using any gear. "Alright, girl. Let's make this a good run. Hee-yah!"

~start song~

You two run through the field, jumping over fences and small puddles.

"Okay, in the forest!" You two head to the forest, jumping over logs and broken down trees. You two reach a particular tree and you reach your hands up and swing on the branch, reaching another and running and leaping from branch to branch. You have the blood of the assassin. You still have it and plan to use it for good use, just in case. Midnight, running underneath you, trying to make sure you didn't slip and fall. You leap in the air, knowing that this life is yours for the taking. You spread your legs and land on Midnight's back and goes on her hind legs and whinnies.

You two return back to the barn and you get off Midnight. She turns and she goes out of control.

"MIDNIGHT! WHOA! EASY, GIRL! STEADY!" You place your hands up in the air. She calms down and does an angry neigh. You turn and there's Jin on the ground.

"What did I do?"

"Haha, she's not used to strangers." He gets up and Midnight comes and rubs your cheek with her muzzle. "It's okay, girl. He's a friend." She goes and rubs her face with his hand. He lifts it and strokes her neck. "She likes you. That's good." He stays silent.

"I got close to you, ready to place my hand on your shoulder, then she freaks out." You put Midnight back in the barn and lock the door. You two walk back to the house.

"I'm going to miss you."

"Me too. Let's make this night worthwhile." Says Jin.

Jin's POV

I wake up and the moon is still in the sky. I get out of Cadence's bed, getting dressed and ready to head back to Yakushima. I turn to her, her feet and left breast exposed, but covered the rest with a white sheet. I grab a heavier blanket that has seashells on it and cover Cadence, with head and left hand right by her head exposed still. I kiss her on the cheek.

"Erm..Jin…"

"Shh. Go back to sleep."

"Care…ful. Love..you." I don't want to leave, but I must. I quietly leave her room and make it through the kitchen and outside porch, when,

"You'll be leaving her, huh?" Says her father, who is behind me.

"I don't want to. But, now, I need to take care of business."

"Cadence has been hurt already."

"I promise," Turning to him, "There is no one else I want other than Cadence."
