Chapter 25 -I'm a Maniac

{Back at Chuck and Sarah's House}

Chuck was anxiously standing in front of his monitor in their home conference center, trying to figure out where in the hell Bryce and Casey were.

"Lisa where's Bryce and Casey?" Chuck hadn't heard anything from them since Sarah and he got back from Washington late last night. The last he heard everything was fine but it had been almost 48 hours since then.

{They are not answering.}

Chuck was debating whether to bother Sarah, knowing that she was resting from their trip and he really didn't want to bug her yet. "What is their last known coordinates, map it out for me please."

{Bringing up map displaying last known coordinates.}

Chuck looked at the location, tilting his head slightly. "Wait a minute, that can't be right."

"What is it honey?" Sarah came down to join her husband, looking at the display as she now stood next to him.

Chuck looked quizzically at the map on the screen before him. "It shows Bryce and Casey underneath the federal building. Why would they still be there?" Chuck looked down at his watch, trying to figure out what was going on.

Sarah let out a long sigh, lowering her head ever so slightly. "You want to go check on them don't you?"

Chuck wantingly looked to her, knowing they just got back and were tired, but this was Casey and Bryce. "Do you want me to just go, you could stay home. What?"

Sarah had her hands on her hips, staring at him. "Are you being serious right now?"

Chuck shrugged his shoulders trying his best to avoid the look emanating from his annoyed wife. "Well I was just checking, jeez." Chuck couldn't help but smile now. He knew his wife would always be there for him.

She punched his arm. "I'll get our gear." Sarah started heading towards their office.

Chuck jogged up the stairs after her. "Maybe we could go swimming later?" Chuck asked, trying to hide his devious smirk.

Sarah stopped dead in her tracks, sighing once again. He really was going to get it. "Chuck…" Sarah still didn't turn around.

"I'm just saying honey." Okay, she was just too cute as he quickly closed the distance between them, grabbing her butt as he caught her. "Did I tell you how beautiful you are especially when you're frustrated with me?"

Sarah quickly turned on him, pinning him against the wall, attacking his now wide open mouth with her own.

Chuck tried to get some semblance of control after all; his wife caught him in a very awkward position. It didn't seem to stop her though as she continued her assault. Chuck was about to try and remove her shirt when she suddenly broke the kiss and walked through the door and into the office, leaving Chuck grasping for air.

Chuck stood there in shock. He could not believe she just left him hanging like that.

"Come on Chuck, we need to get our gear on." Sarah yelled from inside the room, a note of obvious sarcasm lacing her words.

Chuck was still standing there, not quite able to move.

"Not so funny is it?" Sarah came out and grabbed his hand pulling him into the office.

{Chuck and Sarah Heading to the Government Building}

Chuck and Sarah we're driving down the 405 heading towards L.A. neither one saying a word so far, the memory of what happened in the office still fresh in both their minds. Obviously on ones mind more than the other...

Chuck was the first to say something. "Hmmmm."

Sarah just looked over at Chuck, knowing that the sarcasm level was about to hit a new high. "Hmmmm?"

"Huh, what? It's nothing, nothing." Chuck turned his concentration back to the road.

"No please say it Chuck." Sarah could only smirk at her devious husband.

"It's really not a punishment Sarah."

Sarah just rolled her eyes. "What's not a punishment Chuck?"

"It's not a punishment when you actually give in a minute later. I'm just saying." Chuck had a smirk on his face thinking about Sarah's lack of self-control back in the office.

Sarah just rolled her eyes. "I really hate you right now."

"Sure you do." Chuck reached over and placed his hand on her thigh. "What, too soon?"

Sarah ignored him turning on the radio instead, hoping that the music would help her ignore her husband.

Chuck turned the music up, "Gotta love Boys to Men."

Sarah listened to the words… 'I'll make love to you, like you want me too' "God help me." Sarah put a hand to her forehead as Chuck started singing along with the song over accentuating the parts about wanting to 'make love to you.'

"Chuck, there's no way in hell I'm going in there. No way!" Sarah was trying to hold her nose as they stood above the entrance to the underground sewer that led underneath the Government Building.

"Honey it's the only way to reach Bryce and Casey without alerting Fulcrum. Lisa said they got stuck in a drainage tank when they were trying to elude the Fulcrum agents." Chuck knew this was probably the grossest thing they would ever do but they had no choice. Time to bring out the big guns Chuck smirked to himself. "I'll go in alone and you stay up here and keep a look out till we get back."

"I swear Mr. Bartowski if any of that crap gets in my hair, you're sleeping on the couch tonight."

Chuck smiled. "I love you to honey. Let's go."

The four agents made their way out of the sewers and onto dry ground once again. While three of them were in a more than surprising good mood, one of the spies was in a very, very bad mood.

Chuck knew he had to tread carefully even though he was more than excited to have Casey and Bryce back from where they got trapped. He knew it wasn't really his fault when he and Sarah first climbed down into the sewer. Honestly, he really thought there was a ledge at the tunnel entrance. Apparently he was mistaken as both he and Sarah took a very filthy plunge into the murky depths. He knew he was in trouble as Sarah didn't speak to him the whole time even up to finding the locked gate Casey and Bryce were stuck behind.

Chuck dared not touch his wife but he knew he had to make some kind of effort to rectify the situation. "Honey, would you believe me if I said how beautiful you looked right now?" Okay, that probably wasn't the best start although there was no denying the fact that his beautiful wife could even make being covered in crap sexy.

Sarah ignored her husband as she headed to the gas station she knew was just around the corner. It was late, she was hot, and she stunk. Her husband was in so much trouble it wasn't even funny. Not to mention the fact, there was no way in hell they were getting in her Porsche with all this crap over them.

Bryce was the first to speak up, hoping to break the obvious tension in the air. He knew Chuck would find them, even after they got lost after dropping their phones and flashlights in their haste to avoid getting shot by the Fulcrum agents. What he wasn't expecting was Chuck and Sarah showing up looking like they took a swim in the toilet. "Hey guys, there's a hose over there near the air pump."

Ignoring everything else around her, only caring about cleaning herself off, Sarah headed straight to the hose. There was no way she was letting the boys get there first.

Seeing his wife already washing her self off with the crystal clear water, Chuck thought he'd try to break the tension a bit. "Hey babe, you wanna…" Chuck couldn't finish as Sarah started spraying him with the hose. "Cold, very cold."

Sarah was still pissed, although her husband was so adorable.

"Hey Bryce check me out." Chuck started high stepping as he started singing, "I'm a maniac, maniac for sure…" He never finished as his wife sprayed the water in his mouth causing him to gag.

Bryce was laughing at his bro; that was just too funny. Tommy Boy was always one of their favorite movies in Stanford; they both knew practically all the lines.

Sarah had to turn her head to keep from cracking up. Her husband was being so cute, and she wasn't about to give into him quite yet.

Chuck could see his wife trying to hold in her laughter. He'd hoped his silliness would lighten things up a bit; they all had been under a lot of stress the last couple days.

Chuck walked up to his wife, turning his head to keep the spray out of his face. When he reached her, she finally let the hose drop a little as he grabbed her in his arms, giving her a kiss.

Sarah tried to push away, she just felt to gross. Of course she really didn't put much effort into it because Chuck tasted so good even if they both just came from a sewer. Sarah dropped the hose, wanting to use both hands to kiss Chuck.

"My turn." Chuck broke the kiss and just smiled as he started spraying Sarah with the hose.

Casey turned to Bryce as Bryce turned to Casey. "You know, there comes a point when that just gets to sickening."

"I hear yah big guy. But what can we do?" Bryce could not help smiling as Chuck and Sarah were chasing each other around spraying each other with water.

{Back at Chuck and Sarah's house}

"Hey come here beautiful" Chuck swam over to where Sarah was trying to ignore him. They had already agreed to meet with Casey and Bryce tomorrow morning to go over their findings. Luckily the CIA arranged transportation for Casey and Bryce to pick up their car.

Sarah had her back to him as he swam up to her. They had cleaned up pretty good at the gas station and Sarah promised to burn their clothes once they got home. She still was angry that Chuck would make her not angry. She should be able to resist her husband, but it pissed her off that any attempts to resist so far had failed.

Sarah nearly gasped when she felt Chuck come up from behind her, gently wrapping his warm hands around her, pulling her into him.

"I'm sorry honey for acting a little weird lately. I guess my coping mechanisms have reverted me back to my nerdy high school and college days. I don't want to disrespect you because I do love you, and I know sometimes I can be a schoch to over the top." Chuck brought his face next to hers, giving her a loving kiss on her cheek.

Of course, she thought, he does it again. Damn, what happened to her ability to always be professional?

Sarah turned around in his arms, bringing her legs up to wrap around him. She held onto his neck making sure she was supported. "I love you; you know that right?"

Chuck just smiled; if there was anything he knew for sure, it was exactly that. "Of course I do."

"I just think sometimes when you get around Bryce; you tend to forget about me." Sarah tried to look him in the eyes but she couldn't, this was a lot for her to share this type of emotion.

"Hey." Chuck brought her chin around so he could look her in the eyes. "You know that's not true Sarah. I'll admit I tend to let loose a little bit around Bryce, but you are and always will be my number one thought. Wait a minute; does this have to do with the warehouse?"

Sarah buried her head in his neck, why did he always have to be right? "It should have been me saving you Chuck; I should have been there with you, comforting you, keeping you safe. I just hate feeling like you don't need me as much as you used to."

And there it is. Chuck chided himself for being so blind to his wife's feelings. "Sarah I'll always need you. I'm not going to turn into some super-agent. You know how I hate fighting, and besides, I can't think clearly unless you're with me and you know that's a fact."

He did have a point there Sarah knew. She would always be his calm center and she knew she was just being ridiculous, but this was Chuck and they always shared everything and this had been bothering her lately. "Well what happens when you upload the Intersect 2.0?"

"Sarah." Chuck gently touched her face. "By the time that happens, I'll need you more than ever. I'll need you to protect our family, and by family I mean, you, me, and our baby."

Her heart actually fluttered as the realization hit her at what his words really meant.

"I don't think even you realize how important you are to our family. I have to know you and the baby are going to be safe or I'm going to screw up in the field. So if you think I needed you before, it's going to be a hundred times more when our baby comes."

"Oh Chuck, why do you always know what to say?" She felt so relieved to hear him say those words. It made her realize just how important she was to him and how important she'd always be. If she really had to think about it though, she always knew that, it was just nice to hear Chuck say it.

"You know, I could say the same about you." Chuck pulled her in for a kiss, hoping that she understood just how important she was. "Honey I can't do this without you, the Intersect, me being a spy, none of it means anything to me if were not together."

"I know, I just felt like we we're growing apart and you know, I was only good to you for one thing." Sarah shyly looked away from him.

"Are you serious? Is that how I make you feel?" Chuck suddenly had a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach. How could he ever be that shallow?

Sarah could see the hurt and pain in his eyes. She didn't mean it to sound like that. "No Chuck , please don't be upset about that. It was just you know, how I was feeling."

"But it doesn't matter what my intentions were, if I made you feel like that then that's my fault. I can't believe I would make you feel that way, I'm so sorry Sarah."

Sarah brought him into a hug realizing she probably should've just kept her mouth shut. "Chuck I've told you before, you've never once made me do anything I didn't want to. It's not your fault honey; I'm just being stupid right now."

Chuck grabbed her hands a little tighter then he meant to. "Stop saying that. You're my wife Sarah, if you're feeling this way then it is my fault. And stop saying you're stupid or being ridiculous because you're far from that." Chuck just shook his head. "I can't believe I made you feel this way."

"Chuck honey please, it's okay; we've talked about it and…"

"Come on." Chuck broke the embrace and grabbed her hand pulling her out of the pool.

"What are you doing Chuck?" She could tell he was really upset.

"We're going away for the weekend, just you and me." Once out of the pool Chuck grabbed one of the towels and helped Sarah dry off. She in turn helped him.

"Chuck we don't have to do this." She really couldn't be convincing because in all honesty, she wanted this so bad that she knew she wouldn't put much of a struggle.

Once dried, Chuck put his arm around her and led her into the house.

"Lisa, please book a private amphibious charter plane. Sarah's going to fly us to Alaska for the weekend. Make sure to book a cabin on one of the remote Islands. Have the flight plan and info ready in two hours and please let the team know we will be offline for the next four days."

{Booking now. I think you're really going to love it.}

Chuck paused as he looked towards the monitor. Did Lisa really just say that?

Sarah was speechless, literally. Her heart felt like it was bursting inside her and the warmth was filling her from her head to her toes. They never really had a honeymoon with Chuck recovering from his injuries. This would be so perfect, her husband was perfect. She couldn't hold back a tear as once again Chuck knew exactly what to do for her.

"We never had our honeymoon, now we will." Chuck reached in and gave her a kiss. "I promise you that I'll spend every minute of every day showing you how much you mean to me. I'm sorry Sarah for making you doubt how much I need you."

Sarah couldn't respond, she was too emotional and to excited. They were going to Alaska and it was a perfect time of year to go. She couldn't contain her excitement as she wrapped her arm tightly around Chuck as they went upstairs to pack. This was truly going to be a magical weekend.
