Hey readers, sorry again for the long wait. A lot has been going on with life lately so I haven't had time to write. I feel like my writing style is slipping too sinse I don't write chapters all at once. Tell me what your thoughts are on my story so far, this chapter, the characters, who you're shipping (who would you want to be paired up later on?) and over all give me advise on how to make my story better. Chapter 25- Swimming at Leah's
The alarm goes off and I sigh as I get out of bed. I start making the bed and tense when I notice the other side's empty. Where's Alice? Faintly I can here the sound of the shower running in my bathroom. Walking up to the door I knock lightly.
"Alice?" I ask loud enough for her to hear me.
"morning Bella!" she giggles over the sound on rushing water.
"I'm gonna go make breakfast" i say. Walking out of my room and down the stairs I hear Alice say something about being out of the shower soon. I grab a frying pan, spatula and stuff to make french toast. By the time I get everything out onto the table Alice is coming down the stairs. She has a towel on her shoulders like a football player. Her hair is down in her face since she didn't dry it, it looks cute. She sits down at the table and rubs her hair with the towel. I put a plate of French toast in front of her and sit down. She gets up and wraps her arms around me. I smile and burry my forehead in her neck.
"morning Bella." she whispers. I wrap my arms around her waist.
"morning Alice." I say. She finally sits back down. I take a bite of French toast. Hmmm brown sugar. I start thinking about school. Ugh, don't we have a quiz in math today? I know I'll do fine. Is that history paper due this Friday? Oh jeez I need to start writing that soon. I yawn and take another bite of french toast. I look over at Alice and she giggles.
"you tired?" she asks. I lean my face on my hand and nod. "Bella you're so cute." she laughs. I smirk.
"I know." I sigh as I look at my phone. "shit, Alice we gotta go or we'll be late!" I jump up out of my chair and grab my bag and helmet. We run outside and hop on my motorcycle. I go as fast as I can down the road careful not to cause an accident. I park in my spot near the door and we run in. We get to english just as the bell rings. We find Jacob, Edward and emmet in the back of the room and sit down. Leah turns around and smiles at me.
"running a little late huh?" Leah laughs. I nod with a smile.
"yeah I guess so." I say with a yawn. She smirks as she looks at Alice.
"geez how long did you keep sleepyhead over here up for? Did you guys get any sleep last night?" she asks pointing her thumb at me. Alice smiles.
"I didn't keep her up that long right Bella?" she asks with a smirk. Why is she dragging me into this? At least they aren't fighting yet. I finally shake my head.
"oh yeah, Leah do we have a math test today?" I ask trying to change the subject. That and I need to know, I would like to study before hand. A look of panic crosses Leah's face before its masked again.
"oh shit, do we?" she asks laughing it off. She checks her homework agenda then shakes her head. "nope it's tomorrow." she says looking at Alice and I. Then she leans forward so no one can hear her, mainly Alice. "Bella can you please help me study I need to do well on that test." she says lowly with a serious look on her face. I nod.
"can anyone answer my question? Come on guys drink some coffee or something!" mr.B laughs. We hadn't realized class had started. Leah turns around and we finally start paying attention. The class finishes fast along with the ones before Spanish. Now in Spanish class Leah and I are sitting in the back of the room. We have a substitute teacher and we aren't doing anything.
"so...about Alice, I talked to her last night. She said she'll try to act better." I sounded so weird. Is there something wrong with my voice?
"it's fine, I can handle if she's territorial over you, I mean who wouldn't be right?" she says with a smile. Her eyes sadden. "I know I would be nervous having someone else talk to you. It's all about competition isn't it? Who's better?" her voice is soft and the last part was such a whisper I almost couldn't hear her.
"she has nothing to worry about, I mean your awesome but..." my voice cracks and I can't continue. I take a deep breath and look into her eyes. "I'm loyal to her, she means a lot to me." I say finally. Leah nods. We're silent for a moment.
"hey um, sorry to ask but can I have a ride back to my house? I jogged here this morning because I woke up too early. Alice has another way home right?" she asks. I think for a moment.
"yeah, her brother can give her a ride, I'll drive you home." I say with a smile. Class ends a little while after we stop talking, it seemed to go by faster than I wanted it to. The rest of the day went by fast as well, I spent most of it talking to Alice; but for some reason I couldn't help but glance over at Leah every once in a while. Every time I looked at her she was already looking at me and smiling.
The bell ends the day and I walk to my bike. I had already told Alice about helping Leah study so I didn't need to worry about her not having a way home. I lock my backpack to the side of my bike and wait for Leah. She rushes up to my bike a minute later with a big smile. She gets on and I coast out of the parking lot. She wraps her arms around my waist loosely. Is she afraid to hold on to me? I rev up the motor so we lurched forward and her arms tighten around my stomach. She holds me close for the rest of the ride and I feel a small smile on my face. We finally to get her house and she's reluctant to let go of me. I laugh and hop off my bike. She unlocks the door and we walk up to her room. It looks different then when I left yesterday. There are weights all over the floor and paper thrown everywhere.
"wow, did I miss the party last night or something?" I chuckle as I grab my math book out of my backpack. Leah shakes her head.
"no, I just threw a tantrum that's all" she sighs. My face becomes
serious, did I hit a soft spot? "amber called last night." she says. Oh, jeez. Why did I say anything?!
"I'm sorry." I say immediately. She shakes her head.
"it's fine." she mutters. Her face lights up. "wanna do something fun?" she asks. She grabs my arm and pulls me back downstairs.
"but what about studying?" I ask as I'm being dragged into another part of the house.
"we can do it later." she says as she opens a door to where she's taking me. There's a giant indoor pool. "you can swim can't you?" she asks. I nod my head dumbly.
"sorry I should have mentioned we had a pool so you could bring a bathing suit." she says as she takes off her socks and sits on the edge on the pool she puts her feet in and moves her legs back and forth slowly, making ripples appear threw the pool. I chuckle.
"It's fine, I usually wear clothes when I swim anyway." i say as I walk over to her. I roll up my pant legs and throw my socks near the door. Sitting next to her, I put my feet in the water. It's warm, but not too warm. She smiles.
"the heater's on." she says as she gets up and takes her shirt off. She begins to take her pants off but stops and looks at me. I can feel a blush cross my face. "you don't mind if I swim like this do you?" she asks indicating her sports bra and underwear. My face turns red as I nod and look at the water. She laughs and jumps into the pool. A little water splashes on my clothes.
"hey!" I chuckle and stand up. "try not to get me wet before I have my clothes off." I mutter. She chuckles and mutters back "oh right sorry." I slowly take off my jeans and fold them before putting them near the wall and away from the splash zone.
"nice boxers." Leah says with a smirk. I look down, oh shit I forgot I was wearing those.
"I can take them off if they bother you." I answer without thinking and earn a funny look from Leah. I can see a small blush find it's way across her face as she shakes her head. "I have underwear on under it silly." I laugh and pull the edge of the boxers down a few inches so she could see my black underwear. Her whole face is red now and I smirk and shake my head. Rolling my eyes I take the boxers off and leave them with my jeans. I pull my shirt over my head and catch Leah looking at my abs as I fold my shirt. I jump in the water and let the heat surround me.
"hmmm the water feels good." I say as I float on my back.
"glad you think so." she says. She raises an eyebrow and I laugh.
"what?" I ask.
"how are you floating like that? I've never been able to, always sink." she answers. I move so that I'm no longer floating and swim towards her.
"want me to show you?" I ask. She nods slowly with a nervous look on her face. "ok, so kick your legs and move your back so it's against the waters surface. She tries once and sinks as soon as she hits the water.
"see?" she asks frustratedly. I think for a moment.
"here let me help you kay?" I say. I slowly place my hands on her back. We both shudder at the skin contact. "um...now l-lean back." I stutter. Why am I so nervous to be touching her? She slowly leans back. I move my lower hand to the small of her back to support her weight.
"like this?" she asks. I'm almost looking directly down at her face now. Her face is flushed, mine is probably too.
"yep, good. Now when your backs against the water." I put a little pressure on the small of her back so it moves up. "keep right here up and your shoulders and legs against the water." I slowly move one hand to the middle of her back. She's almost floating all by herself now. I reach my arm over her and bring her arm out to the side, then do the same with the other. "your arms will help you balance." I say finally as I take a step back. Her body remains on the top of the water.
"wow I'm actually staying up!" she says as she closes her eyes. "it feels strange, like I'm flying but on water. It's awesome." she smiles.
"now try swimming like that. Move your arms and legs around." I kick away from her so I don't get splashed. She starts moving around and goes a few feet backwards. She laughs and lets her feet fall.
"good job Leah." I laugh. She swims to the side of the pool and uses her arms to lift herself up then sits herself down on the edge. I swim over to her and do the same.
"that was fun." she sighs. "we should probably start studying now huh?" she asks sounding disappointed. I nod. We get up, grab our clothes and she shows me where the towels are.
