A/N: Yo peeps! I'm super excited from all the reviews breaking over a hundred (thank you for making my b-day come true) and all the followers/favorites. By the way, I didn't even realize that I ended the last chapter on a cliffie- sorry. This is now, my longest and wordiness story (Huzzah!) So, anyways, Dramione fluff. Is. Everywhere. The next chapters will be Dramione filled as well. Now, my next update may take awhile. I have to hand-draft more chapters and for some reason, I can only do three chapters ahead. So, anyways, please review/give feedback. Happy reading.

True Love's Locket

Chapter 25- In Colder Weather

Her chocolate brown eyes landed on Malfoy, who looked as surprised as she felt at the moment. With her heart still thumping against her chest, Hermione lowered her wand and placed it back within her cloak. She watched as Malfoy approached slowly and his footsteps crunched in the snow. His wand whipped through the air, and he pointed to the empty spot next to her, "Is this seat taken?"

She shook bushy mane and a slight smile played on her face as she replied, "Are you planning on making interrupting my quiet time habit Malfoy?"

He smirked as he sat down on the empty side of the fallen tree truck as he responded with fiery red letters, "I don't know Granger, are you going to make it a habit sneaking off and sitting in chilly places yours?"

"Possibly," replied Hermione, with still traces of the smile from earlier on her face. Then their conversation grew quiet as they stared at the pure scenery before them. Many questions plagued her mind as her eyes flickered from the man sitting next to her and the frosty wonderland before her. Several minutes had passed in silence when she finally spoke.

"I read your note," started Hermione, "Why did you tell me the truth?"

"How do you know it was the truth? Maybe I lied," wrote Draco.

Hermione shrugged her shoulders as she replied, "Why would you lie about something as serious as killing someone? Death is not a joking matter."

She watched as Malfoy's wand whipped through the air, leaving the flaming elegant cursive in her eyesight as she read his message, "I would say that, about something as such because I'm a self-centered, pure-blooded arse, who cares about nobody but himself."

By the end of his reply, Hermione was blushing scarlet, and she quickly stammered out, "I cannot believe that you remembered that insult from more than a couple of months ago."

Draco replied, "How could I ever forget your true opinion of me Granger? You were, in fact quite vocal about it."

Her brown eyes stared at the landscape once again, as her mind thought about what lurked in the frosty waters below. Her reply automatically slipped from her lips as she whispered, "I hardly think that way now."

Though, when she realized what she had said, and felt a heated blush bloom on her cheeks. Hermione quickly continued to speak and smirked as she turned her head to Malfoy, "But then again, how do you know that wasn't a lie?"

"Touche," wrote Draco, as he returned the smirk back to her.

There was a soft quiet moment of stillness in the air until Hermione spoke as her brown chocolate eyes roamed over the surface of the lake, "Do you ever wonder what lies underneath the lake?"

He shook his head, "No."

"No? Not even remotely curious?" she asked as her voice carried a tone of surprise.

Her brown eyes looked from the snowy surrounding to the man sitting beside her as he shrugged his shoulders and wrote, "Not even a bit."

"Why are on Earth not? Think of all we could learn about the life underneath-" her lecture was cut short as Malfoy's wand elegantly flowed through the air.

"There's no need to get your knickers in a twist Granger. The only reason why I don't share the same enthusiasm as yourself is because I see what is underneath the lake everyday through my bedroom window."

Before she could control herself and without complained that he referred to her knickers, Hermione whirled upon him excitedly. Her brown eyes shone with intrigue and curiosity as she asked, "I did read in Hogwarts: A History, that you could see the giant squid from the common room, is that true?"

"Very. Hates being stared at too often. In third year, it attacked the bloody window and scared the hell out of me," wrote Draco.

Hermione quietly laughed as Malfoy's face adopted an expression between entertained and embarrassed as his hand ran through his pale locks. She couldn't differentiate if the blush on his cheeks were from his story or from the cold. Her laughter was still in her throat as she teased, "Your third year was absolutely terrible then. You provoked two creatures into attacking you, then I punched you for being a git."

She watched as Malfoy shrugged his shoulders and quickly whipped his wand through the air, "It could have been worse."

"How so?" questioned Hermione as she arched one petite eyebrow in his direction. She smiled when he snorted lightly then smirked at her as he replied, "Your pathetic excuse of a punch could have left a bruise."

"Pathetic?" cried Hermione. She was seemingly offended for a moment until she saw the teasing spark within his silver eyes. "As I recall, you trembled underneath my wand in fear before I decidedly punched you in your jaw and you ran off crying."

"Believe as you want, I was not crying," wrote Draco with smirk on his face, "Your hit didn't hurt once. Though, I am sorry about trying to have the Hippogriff killed; luckily it had escaped that night."

Hermione had a surprised look on her face from his words. Deep down inside of herself, she felt slightly touched from his apology as she questioned suspiciously with an arched eyebrow, "Really? Or are you lying again?"

"I will never lie to you Granger," her heart thumped as his pale hand shot out and grabbed one of her many unruly curls as it danced in the winter wind. His pale fingers tucked it behind her ear as he wrote with his silver molten eyes on her brown ones, "You have my word as a Malfoy that I never will."

She swallowed the hard lump in her throat as his hand quickly pulled away from her face. Her eyes flickered to the lake, and settled her vision on the snowy wonderland as she willed her heart to stop pounding. Gnawing at her bottom lip, Hermione wondered why Malfoy's word affected her so and just why she believed him wholeheartedly.

Draco's hand buzzed with pleasure from briefly touching her chestnut curl and he turned his feverishly burning body from her. His silver eyes gazed at the darkening sky and watched as heavier snow started to drift upon them. He stood from his sitting position beside Granger and wrote, "We should be getting back."

"You go on ahead Malfoy, I will catch up in a bit," absentmindedly replied Hermione.

She was still trying to solve the mystery within herself about Malfoy. Her eyes peeked at him as his silver eyes returned to look at the sky, completely distracted by something else. She felt her body twist in places she had never felt before, which was mostly her chest and between her thighs as her eyes slowly roamed over his frame. Malfoy was dressed all in black, he was the darkened blemish in the pure snow; except his hair, which looked as angelic as the snow around him. Hermione bit back a surprising moan and licked her lips which were instantly attacked by the harsh cold. Sounds of a whipping wand made her head turn. In fiery red cursive, was Malfoy's reply to her previous statement, "I'm not leaving you out here to freeze Granger."

Visible heavy snowflakes began dropping from the sky as Hermione narrowed her chocolate eyes in a fixed glare at Malfoy, "I will hardly freeze by spending a few more minutes out here."

He simply shrugged his broad shoulders at her as he wrote, "The snow is beginning to fall steadily. Pretty soon, it will be difficult to navigate through."

"What makes you an expert on the weather Malfoy? It's been snowing off and on like this for several days now," snapped Hermione as she bolted up from the fallen tree truck; clearly agitated at him for his nagging. Her chocolate brown eyes were still blazing as she stood directly in front of him with her arms folded across her chest stubbornly. Draco snorted and wrote, "Absolutely nothing but my own eyes."

Before Hermione could reply, the chilly wind gusted wildly, spraying her face with the harsh mixture of snow and frost. She blinked her brown eyes rapidly to beat the drifting snowflakes from her eyesight and her leather-gloved hand automatically held over her eyes as sharp, cold air made her eyes start to water. Her teeth began to clatter together inside her mouth as she felt another gust of wind climb up her spine.

Then suddenly, she felt a hard grip on her raised hand and a hard tug that made her stumble forward. Between her squinted eyes, she could see Malfoy's black cloak whipping in the wind in front of her. As she followed down his body, she found her hand in his grasp, his much larger hand hugging hers tightly. The smell of his cologne drifted through the air as she staggered behind him in the impromptu snowstorm.

Her lips were frozen and she knew her lips were numb, along with any other exposed part of her body. She she struggled walking in the higher growing snow with her eyes narrowed, focusing on Malfoy's dark shape ahead of her until she couldn't see him any longer. The darkness enveloped over her as Hermione stumbled forward blindly, her frozen digits fumbled within her robe to fish out her wand when she suddenly slammed into something firm that strongly smelled of Malfoy's cologne.

"Malfoy?" she questioned through chattering before she whispered, "Lumos."

The bright light of her wand illuminated Malfoy's features for a brief moment until she was engulfed by his embrace. Her own shivering body welcomed his out of character contact as she felt heat radiating from his skin. Acting on their own accord, her limbs laced around his waist and she buried her face into the firmness of his chest. They stood in the mysterious place until each of their limbs were well heated. Hermione had lost count just how long they were holding each other as she muttered, "Clearly, I owe you an apology. I was most definitely wrong in this case."

Her heart pounded as Malfoy's rumbling chuckle reverberated within her head, and she quickly pulled away from his arms. Hermione lifted her still glowing wand higher into the air, spreading the light through what looked like a small cave.

"Where are we?" whispered Hermione, mostly to herself as she looked around the empty stone cavern. She watched silently as fiery red letters bloomed in mid air from Malfoy's wand which highlighted the darkened crevices of the cave some more, "I do not know. I just saw a dark fleck within the snowstorm and followed it. Personally, I just wanted to get out of that damn cold."

"You know, you could have stopped being stubborn and listened to me when I told you to return alone," reminded Hermione heatedly. She watched in the bright light as Malfoy's jaw clenched as he wrote, "As I told you before, I wasn't going to leave you in the cold weather."

Then the cave fell silent as Hermione watched the heavy snow drift down from the sky and began to pile. The opening to the cave wasn't a small one, but if the snow continued to fall at the rate it was going; they would have terrible walk back to the castle. She rubbed her arms with her hands as she spoke,"We should make a fire to chase the daft out."

As she stepped closer to the entrance of the cave, the sound of a swishing wand echoed around her. Hermione looked over her shoulder and read, "Near the entrance-" she snorted and stopped reading Malfoy's message and replied,"I know. On top of being trapped here, I hardly feel the desire to asphyxiate myself."

Draco snorted at her as he whipped his wand through the air, "I'm going to go fetch some firewood. Hopefully, we won't have to be in here for any more than a couple of hours."

As Malfoy started walking to the entrance of the cave, her hand shot out and grabbed his passing forearm to stop and she spoke, "Wait. Instead of braving the elements, I will just summon some fallen branches with my wand. That way, there's no chance of losing you in the snow.

Draco smirked and gently stepped away from her as pleasurable vibrations teased along his skin. He swallowed the lump in his throat and smirked as he wrote, "Concerned for my well-being Granger? If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be in this mess."

Hermione glared at him, "As you kindly reminded earlier!" she snapped. Her angry words echoed around the dark, damp cave as she continued to speak, "and, as I reminded you, if you would just left, you wouldn't be in this situation!"

His jaw clenched together tightly as his agitation grew with dealing with a stubborn woman, and he wrote, "If I had left you there, you would be frozen witch at the moment. I was concerned for your damn well-being or is that kind of expression of friendship only one-sided?"

She shook her head angrily as she refrained from shouting. Her voice bounced around the cave laced in venom, "Nobody asked you to be concerned about me Malfoy. I definitely don't recall asking you."

"In a way, you did," wrote Draco. He watched as her eyes narrowed before glaring at him heatedly, "If you dare tell me that you heard my thoughts again through the locket, I'm leaving this cave at once," threatened Hermione.

"Quit being stubborn! The weather is bloody awful!" hastily wrote Draco. He whipped his wand quickly through mid air as Granger opened her mouth to protest.

He wrote,"For Merlin's sake, you're driving me mad!"

At the same time as she spoke, "Stubborn? That's rich coming from you Malfoy!"

The pair glared at each other for several moments. Their frustrated, foggy breaths danced around each of their faces as they wordlessly continued to out-glower at each other. They broke from their staring contest when the wind started to hauntingly howl outside and they watched as snow angrily swirled around the entrance of the cave.

Hermione stubbornly broke first and sighed. She didn't spare a glance at the equally stubborn man standing across from her as she barely traveled outside. The frigid cold nipped at the bare skin of her face as Hermione pointed her wand to the small sticks peeking out of the snow and shouted, "Accio branches!"

The howling winds suddenly lightened, and the fallen tree branches ripped free from the heavily piling snow. The wood quickly soared through the air in her direction with surprising acceleration which made Hermione turned on her heel and dodged the attack of flying branches by a matter of mere inches. As she whirled away, the branches scattered onto the ground of the cave. The hollow echo bounced around on the damp walls as a flaming blushing crept upon her cheeks.

Her blush grew heated as she watched Malfoy walk across the cave with an entertained smirk on his face as he retrieved the firewood from the ground. She leaned her back against the stone, willing her heated cheeks of embarrassment to subside. She wordlessly watched as Malfoy's face adopted an expression that she could describe as concentration as his pale hands stacked the firewood accordingly. The chill in the air was instantly chased away when Malfoy pointed his wand to the firewood and rich, red flames burst forth from the tip, alighting the wooden pile.

Hermione slid down the cave wall and sat across from Malfoy as her eyes flickered between the dancing flames of the fire to the frosty world outside. The only noise in the cave was the crackling of the wooden branches before she spoke.

"How did you find me at the lake?" softly asked Hermione.

Her head turned from the white, angry storm outside when she heard the familiar sound of a swishing wand. Malfoy's replied burned in midair as his face carried his trademark smirk, "Can't miss hair like yours anywhere."

Bubbling laughter from simple irony escaped her throat before she could control herself. When Malfoy's face carried the look of confusion, she managed squeezed out words from between her laughter, "Says the man whose a bleached blond."

"Platinum," wrote Draco, with a small, growing smile on his face. Hermione snorted at his reply before sarcastically delivering a reply of her own with a small smile playing on her face, "My mistake."

After breaking the ice with light teasing, they easily talked about trivial topics such as childhood stories and favorite places to go, both magical and muggle sports, and literature in the cave for several hours as the wind howled outside. Sometime in the middle of the conversations, they had moved to side by side, both leaning against the wall of the cave. Hermione was right in the middle of explaining to Malfoy about her father's profession of dentistry, who looked genuinely confused yet interested.

She bit back a small out-of-sorts giggle as Malfoy's silver eyes blinked at her slowly as his mind filtered through the information she had just given to him. Gnawing at her lip, her eyes flickered to the entrance of the cave. The bright sun had fallen several minutes ago, just as the chilly wind lessened.

Within the darken night, she could see the light radiating from the castle, the mere glow twinkled on the crystal snow and made it sparkle. The large glowing light from the castle made her stomach angrily growl. The loud grumble echoed throughout the cave, Hermione gave a sheepish grin to Malfoy as she looked back at him.

"I didn't eat lunch today," explained Hermione. She let out a small yelp of surprise as Malfoy suddenly jumped to his feet. His silver eyes blazed with anger as he whipped his wand through the air, "I just lectured you about eating yesterday Granger! Did you even listen?"

Hermione mentally debated with herself for a moment on whether or not to give Malfoy that pain in the arse answer that he so desperately needed. Perhaps, she simply needed to remind him that there was no listening involved in his lecture, but it required reading. Instead, Hermione replied with, "Of course I listened. Whether or not I comply to your advice is another matter entirely."

Suddenly, she watched as Malfoy's hand snatched her wrist and gently yanked her to her feet. He started to briskly walk towards the entrance of the cave, dragging her behind him once again. His wand-holding hand hastily swished through the chilly air as he wrote, "Come on Granger. We are returning to the castle."

"Now, you are just overreacting," protested Hermione as she pulled at her trapped wrist in Malfoy's hand. He whirled on her, with his wand ready to communicate in mid air just as a deeper grumble echoed throughout the cave. Both freeze for a moment, then Hermione started to smirk, as she said, "That time wasn't me." Which earned her a light pink dusting on Malfoy's pale cheeks.

Smugly, Hermione said, "Maybe you should follow some your own advice."

Draco snorted as he replied, "I do eat unlike yourself. Now, we are returning to the castle tonight, so you can eat."

Shaking her chestnut curls in protest as she spoke, "They lock the doors after nightfall. We are stuck out here until morning."

He ran a hand through his silvery blond locks and wrote, "That cannot be possible. I would like to sleep somewhere else besides this cave tonight."

Hermione's mind was quickly churning for an alternative plan. She silently agreed to Malfoy's protest about spending the night in the cave. The harsh element was terrible enough, but the forest was a dangerous place at night. A brilliant thought suddenly clicked in her head as she excitedly spoke, "I do have an idea. Someplace that is warm and out of the elements, not to mention, it's close to the castle."

Arching a silver brow at Granger, Draco suspiciously wrote, "It's not the very same place that I think you are thinking is it?"

She beamed a bright small as she exclaimed, "Hagrid's!" Draco shook his silvery blond hair wildly as he wrote. "I don't think so Granger," protested Draco, "He still wants to kill me from third year. I just know it!"

A small smile bloomed across her face as she spoke teasingly, " Well then, you'll just have to grovel then. You do want a warm place to rest your head yes? Now come on, let's head off while the snow is gently falling."

Then Hermione held out her glove-covered hand to Malfoy and said, "Hold my hand. I won't be responsible for losing you in the dark because of your fondness for black attire."

When Malfoy begrudgingly took her hand, Hermione beamed for a moment as her eyes looked down at where their hands met. Something that felt similar to worry ached at her heart when she found Malfoy's blue hand in hers. Immediately, she shook his hand away which earned her a look of confusion from Malfoy and she proceeded to pull the leather gloves from her petite hands. "I believe these belong to you," said Hermione and she held the gloves out to Malfoy.

His silver head shook in protest and his protesting reply came soon after, "I am fine."

Hermione narrowed her brown chocolate eyes at the man who stood before her, "Your hands are positively blue Malfoy. That is not all natural, so take the gloves."

When Malfoy shook his head again, Hermione mentally growled. "Shall we compromise then? I feel we'll get nowhere near Hagrid's at this rate" hissed Hermione from between her teeth as she snatched Malfoy's larger hand and stuffed it inside the glove. Then she placed the other glove back onto her own hand.

Draco snorted at her before taking her small bare hand into his colder one. He quickly smiled at her when she flinched from the cold contact and refrained from replying as she spoke, "A little warning would have been nice."

He shrugged his shoulders and whipped his wand through the air, "Going to the O-" When he saw Granger's eyes narrow, Draco quickly flicked his wand through the 'O' and continued writing, "Hagrid's was your brilliant plan, shall we be going?"

With her hand firmly grasped into Malfoy's, Hermione quickly walked towards the entrance of the cave. Her eyes roamed over the dying fire as the they passed. She pulled Malfoy by his hand as they began to walk through the snow. The white powder measured up to her knees as they trudged onward to Hagrid's hut.

They crossed through Hogsmeade, which looked like a Christmas decorated ghost town in the middle of the twilight compared to the during the weekends. There wasn't even a light on as they crunched through town side by side. Hermione buried deeper into her cloak and scarf as the elements began to pick up. Every so often, she would peek out of the corner of her chocolate brown eyes at Malfoy, to see how he was faring. His pale face was buried in his House colored scarf and she knew that he was faring as well as she was.

As they crunched through the snow of the courtyard, Hermione excitedly grew eager to get out of the cold. Her legs were numbed from the wet, cold snow and there was no point to cast the 'Hot-Air' charm until they were inside. Their movements were slow and sluggish as they finally crossed the lawn and ventured the last few steps to Hagrid's hut. The stars were shining well into the sky as they approached. Hermione's face was frozen as her hope sank into her stomach. No lights shined from within in the house, and no smoke oozed from the chimney. She would have kept her fingers crossed that Hagrid was sleeping, but her digits were also frozen.

They carefully climbed the frozen wooden stairs up to Hagrid's and Hermione carefully knocked as her mind quickly thought of an explanation. Several seconds passed before she knocked louder. When she heard nothing from inside, Hermione pulled out her wand from within her cloak and stuttered, "Alohomora," as she tapped the lock once with her wand.

She heard the metal lock click, and she pushed open the door. The wooden door complained against the bronze joints as they hustled inside the darkened hut. Her teeth chattered together as she painfully croaked, "I guess he left again."

Fiery red letters bloomed from beside her, "Well, I don't have to grovel for a place to sleep after all."

Hermione started to laugh, but she sorely coughed instead. She felt a hand pat her back softly as the darkened room suddenly had fire light from the dancing flames in the fireplace. When her throat settled, Hermione casted 'Hot-Air' charms on their soaked clothing. She got a nod of appreciation from Malfoy as she ventured into the small kitchen which was the size of a broom closet to look for some food and something to drink. She shuffled into the enclosed room as her mind wondered how Hagrid managed to cook inside with his massive frame.

Immediately, her eyes spotted Hagrid's usual beaten up, black kettle sitting inside the sink. Hermione plucked the well-used kettle from the sink as she turned the knob for hot water on. The pipes banged and clattered noisily, when finally, brown water gushed through the faucet. Hermione quickly pulled the kettle away with a grimace, secretly hoping that Hagrid hadn't used this water to serve tea to them.

Hermione pointed her wand at the kettle and said 'Aguamenti.' The kettle was full of crystal clear water as she returned back to the large portion of the hut. She carefully placed the kettle over the fire for tea when she suddenly heard a pop followed by a small thud behind her. Whirling around to the direction of the noise, her chocolate brown eyes landed on Malfoy, who was currently drinking from a green bottle.

"What are you drinking?" inquired Hermione as he removed the bottle from his lips. She watched as his wand whipped through the air, burning red letters in mid air for his reply.

"Firewhiskey."

"Are you mad?!" asked Hermione as she bolted across the room. She reached to snatch the bottle from him as she lectured angrily as he kept maneuvering the bottle away from her, "You are liable to get completely smashed from drinking on an empty stomach Malfoy!"

Draco lifted the bottle to his lips again and took another burning mouthful into his throat. When he pulled the green bottle from his mouth, he wrote, "And you would know that how Granger? Don't tell me the Gryffindor bookworm is more of a social butterfly."

Hermione snorted at him as she shrugged out of her black cloak and the sole glove that she wore. She carefully tossed her discarded articles of clothing into Hagrid's large chair in the corner, "It is common sense and it seems as of now, you have none."

He simply shrugged his shoulders, both to her comment and to remove his cloak. To follow suit, he threw his cloak and the other glove to join hers on the large, tan brown chair in the corner of the hut. Draco sat down sideways in a wooden chair and placed the green bottle on the table beside him as he wrote lazily, "I have plenty of common sense Granger. Whether or not I choose apply it, is ultimately up to me."

She rolled her eyes as Malfoy took another deep swig of firewhiskey from the bottle before turning around and walking back into the small kitchen. Hermione ventured deeper into the small crevice. She could see a bed, squeezed from wall to wall as she found Hagrid's pride and joy when it came to baking. Hermione grabbed two from the plate that sat on the small table in the corner. Then she returned to the main part of the hut, where Malfoy was sitting at the table with his boots propped up.

"Well, since you're dropping all common sense for a drink. Why don't you sink your teeth into this," innocently suggested Hermione as she tossed the cookie at him.

Her throw was higher than she anticipated and Malfoy leaned back further to catch it. The 'rock-cake' landed hard in his hand just as he flew backwards and toppled to the floor from the chair being unbalanced. Hermione bit back a laugh when Malfoy's silver eyes glared at her from his spot on the floor underneath the table. Hermione choked out an apology as she walked across the room and sat at the table. Draco climbed back into this chair with befuddled look at his face from his spill and wrote, "Were you trying to break my hand?"

She shrugged her shoulders and replied, "Possibly."

Then she started to lightly nimble on the other rock cake as Malfoy whipped his wand through the air, "Granger, I'm perfectly fine. Correction, more than fine. If I get too inebriated, I'll fall asleep on the bed, assuming that there is one."

"Of course there is a bed," said Hermione, "That is the problem."

"How so?" wrote Draco as he took another swig from the green bottle. He heard Granger sigh for a moment before quickly replying, "There is only one bed."

Draco snorted and whipped his wand through the air, "Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I can guarantee that nothing will happen to you."

Then he lightly pushed the green bottle of firewhiskey towards her, "You need a drink to take the edge off."

Hermione lightly laughed and swallowed her odd feeling of nervousness and replied, "So, this is your grand plan then? Getting completely smashed with a mudblood?"

His silver eyes narrowed at her darkly as he hastily wrote, "Don't ever refer yourself as thus in my presence."

A heavy, awkward silence followed when Malfoy's message disappeared from the air. Hermione could admit that she was fully confused by Malfoy's hostility. Her heart oddly throbbed in her chest as she started thinking about forbidden topics, that she should never think about the blond sitting across from her. She swallowed the growing lump in her throat and shook her chestnut curls before grabbing the offered green firewhiskey bottle with her hand.

The warm, sharp liquid burned down her throat and she started coughing when she pulled the green bottle from her lips. Her chocolate brown eyes met with Malfoy's. His face grinned at her as he wrote, "Besides, wouldn't you think it's more like getting smashed with a friend?"

Before Hermione could reply, Malfoy's wand whipped through the air again, "Now, pass me that bottle Granger. I won't have you drinking it all."

Then Malfoy gave her the same smile from his mother's picture. The innocent childlike smile that he always carried within him but never showed. His smile made her heart beat like well-made drum and she took another drink of the firewhiskey. His face silently protested which made Hermione grin back as she handed him the green bottle. The pair sat at the table before the fire just talking about anything and everything as they drank.
