Cheerleading, swimming and flute competitions,
Three weeks after Kurt and Artie and their girls moved in. The girls had their first competitions.
"Elizabeth you better be careful doing your flips" Kurt says as he watches her
"I'm careful papa where's Maddy?" she asks
"She practiced earlier now she is upstairs with Alexis and Kristin practicing her flute for the competition that they have on Saturday as well
"Who's coming with me?" Lizzie says upset
"I'll take you to the competition, and daddy will take Maddy, Alexis and Kristin to the flute competition" Kurt says smiling
"Is Bristol coming too papa?" Lizzie asks before she does her jump splits
"Yes Bristol is coming as well I'll bring her since daddy can't take her to the flute competition" Kurt says
"I better stop so I can get ready to go to Alexis's baton competition" Lizzie says taking a sip of her water
"Oh we better get going" Kurt says following her upstairs
"Ready daddy" Alexis says coming down in her competition outfit that Kurt made her
"Alexis you shine like a pretty penny" Kurt says when he sees her in her sparkly outfit
"Thank you papa" she says smiling
"Alexis we got to get going" Artie says
"Coming daddy" she says grabbing her batons and following her sister out the door
On the way to Alexis competition Artie dropped Kristin off at swim team practice for her meet that she had Friday evening
"Bye daddy good luck Alexis" Kristin says leaving the van and going into the community center
"Thanks Kristin" Alexis says to her sister
"Bye daddy" Alexis says going to join her class
"Bye Alexis" he says going to find a seat with Bristol
Bristol couldn't wait to see her sister perform
"Please welcome to the stage Alexis Hummel-Abrams" the announcer says
"Go Lexi" Maddy calls from the audience
Alexis routine was spot on hopefully good enough she goes to state competition
(An hour later)
Kurt, Artie, Lizzy and Maddy were on the edge of their seats waiting to hear how Alexis did
"Our first competitor going to Cincinnati is Alexis Hummel-Abrams" the announcer says
Kurt goes crazy he is excited she is moving on to compete
"Time to pick up Kristin" Artie says rolling towards the van
"Will we get to see her practice?" Maddy asks
"Maybe pumpkin" Artie says heading to the community center
They get there in time to see Kristin practice
"Coach can my daddies see me in action?" Kristin asks her coach
"Since most of the parents are here I could give them a preview of the meet, so everyone take your places on the dive boards" the coach says
Kristin hands her glasses to her teammate and puts her goggles on, and take her position
"Swimmers take your mark, get set, go" their coach says
Kristin dives in and swims at full speed
"Go Kristin" Lizzy, Maddy and Alexis say
That motivates Kristin to swim even faster and finishes in record time. After practice Kristin wants to stay and practice some more
"Since you're staying Kristin I have to stay with you' her coach says
"Artie I'm taking Lizzy, Maddy, and Alexis home to bed" Kurt says
"Bye see you at home
"Kristin why do you want to stay and practice?" Artie asks her
"We're going against some tough teams and I want to do good dad" she says getting back on the dive board
"Okay if you say so" he says getting comfortable in the bleachers
"Kristin take your mark, get set go" her coach says
Kristin dives in and swims as fast as she possibly can
"Mr. Hummel-Abrams Kristin is our best swimmer that we have, and I think she has a good chance at the meet on Friday" her coach says
"That you she practices in the morning before school, after school, after homework, and before bed, and sometime after we go to bed" Artie says feeding Bristol
"She very dedicated to this" her coach says
"Yes ever since we signed her up she lives and breathes swimming" he says
"Time coach" Kristin says out of breath
"6 minutes Kristin" her coach says
"Going again" she says getting out of the pool and going to the board
"Does she have any medical problems that I need to watch for when she practices by herself?" her coach asks
"She has asthma and that's about it" he says burping Bristol
"Oh I have seen her wheeze a few times this evening while in the pool then when she got her inhaler she is fine" her coach says
"Friday is it okay if I sit pool side just in case she has an attack?" he asks her coach while he burps Bristol
"I don't see a problem with that" her coach says when Kurt walks in
"Hey how she doing?" Kurt asks
"She is getting stronger and faster every lap see for yourself" Artie tells Kurt
"Holy smokes is that a record?" he asks in shock
"Yes it is a record never set by a five year old" her coach says
"Who watching the girls?" Artie asks
"Burt he wanted to asks Alexis about her competition and Lizzy and Maddy wanted to practice some more before they go to bed" Kurt says
Kurt and Artie see Kristin starting to slow down in the water
"Kurt did you feed them dinner when you brought them home?" Artie asks
"Yeah Kristin hasn't been eating lately" Kurt says
"Oh no she has started to become anorexic already" Artie says scared
"Kristin sweetie good job we know you will do good on Saturday" Kurt says helping her out of the pool and wrapping her up
"I think cause some girls on the swim team are skinny as can be she thinks she has to be skinny like them" her coach says
"Oh great" Kurt says as he carries Kristin to the changing rooms
"Yeah since it's happening in all the girls I'm thinking of having practice for them right after school" her coach says following Kurt
"I didn't think it would happen to my little girl" Kurt says holding Kristin close
"We got three more to worry about" Artie says running his hand through his hair
Her coach gave Artie the information for the meet on Friday, and to make sure she eats after they leave, and tomorrow and Friday as well
"Artie she weight fifty pounds" Kurt says measuring Kristin
"She lost twenty pounds since she started swimming" Artie says yelling at Kurt
"Basically yeah she did" Kurt says yelling back
"I'm taking her to get something to eat after you have her dressed" Artie says leaving in a huff
Kurt gets her ready and takes her out to the van and buckles Kristin in
'Kristin what would you like for dinner?" Artie asks her
"Nothing dad' she says
"Kristin you're starving yourself, and you haven't eaten in goodness knows how many days" he says to her
'Can we just go home" Kristin says crossing her arms
"Not before I get you something to eat" he tells her looking for healthy place that still might be open
He pulls into Subway just when they switch the open sign to closed
"Would frozen yogurt do?" he asks her
Kristin doesn't say anything. He decides to take her to TCBY
"What's this place daddy?" she asks when they pull in
"It's an frozen yogurt place Kristin" he says unbuckling Bristol who was still awake
"Sure sweetie as long as you get something in your system" he says going into the store
Kristin gets black cherry with different fruits and toppings, and a smoothie. While Artie got chocolate frozen yogurt and Bristol vanilla
"Here we go Bristol your first try at frozen yogurt" he says feeding the bite
Bristol opens her mouth and takes the bites happily
"You like that huh happy tongue" he says eating his and feeding her at the same time
Kristin finishes up her smoothie and yogurt and they begin heading home
(Friday night)
"Kristin looks better" Kurt says
"Yeah I take her to TCBY and she eats frozen yogurt with different fruits" Artie says
"As long as it wasn't fast food I'm happy" Kurt says
Swimmers take your mark, get set go" the announcer says
Kristin jumps in the water like a bullet train and swims faster than anyone there. Once she is out of the water she goes and waits in the team room. She ends up advancing to the county meet in three weeks she knew she had to start training after her first meet
"Kristin darling you can train after your flute competition" Kurt says getting her from jumping back in the water
He was too late she started going
"Man when she puts her mind to go for something she goes for it" Artie says with a chuckle
The pool was empty the Hummel-Abrams were the only ones there
"Go Kristin go" Lizzy and Maddy say with they're pom-poms
Alexis had her stopwatch timing Kristin as she swam
"She probably knows she going against some tough competition and she wants to be ready" Kurt says
"Yeah she reminds me of us when we went training to beat vocal adrenaline" Artie says going to change into his swim trunks and Bristol into her swimsuit
"Don't remind me" Kurt says
"The county meet is in Carmel" her coach says
"Now I know why she is training so hard" Kurt says
"You know about their show choir?" her coach asks
"Yeah we went against them our first year and our second year, and we lost" Kurt says keeping an eye on Kristin
"Then my third year we beat them to a pulp" Artie says getting into the chair lift with Bristol
"Artie what are you doing in the water?" Kurt asks
"I didn't tell you a few weeks ago I went to the doctors and they started me on new treatments and its working" Artie says with a smile
With little baby steps Artie moves Bristol around the shallow area of the pool
Kristin practiced for a good hour before she started having a really bad attack. Having Kurt get her out of the water
(Saturday)
"Girls we got to get going if we're going to make it on time" Artie calls upstairs
"Coming daddy" Maddy says running down with her flute in one hand and her cheerleading uniform in the other
"Alexis, Kristin we got to get a move on" he calls up to the other two
Once Alexis and Kristin came down they headed to the flute competition. Lizzy decided to play with Bristol in the playroom until she had to get ready for the cheerleading competition
"Elizabeth we're going to be late" Kurt calls while dressing Bristol in the nursery
"Coming papa" she says fixing her pony
Kurt and Lizzy leave to head to the community center
(Thirty minutes later)
"Maddy go you're going to miss your cheerleading competition" Artie says handing her uniform
"Okay daddy" she says going to change into her uniform
Once Maddy is changed she hurries up and ties her shoes and heads down to the gym while doing her pony
"Maddy just in time we're going on" Quinn says as she enters the gym
Maddy jumps in line with the group. Kurt videotapes the performance. During the performance. The girls who caught Maddy dropped her and she landed right on her back
"Oh my gosh Maddy" Kurt says running to his daughter
"Maddy" Quinn says running to her with the team medic bag
"Papa" Maddy says crying
"I'm right here Maddy I'm not going anywhere" Kurt says comforting her
Quinn determines that Maddy needs to be checked out at the local hospital
"Quinn I'm going with her I'm her father" Kurt says angrily
"Who may I ask is her mother?" Quinn asks
"Artie is her mom" Kurt says
"There is no way Artie could have kids" Quinn scoffs
"Yes her carried Elizabeth, Madeline, and Alexis to term and Kristin who was born premature. Then he also carried our three month old daughter Bristol"" Kurt says explaining it to Quinn as the paramedics put Maddy on a stretcher
"Kurt darling what up with the EMT's" Artie says rolling in with Alexis and Kristin
"Maddy fell right on her back and she can't move" Kurt says
"Hello Quinn" Artie says rolling next to Maddy
"Artie I can't believe you're a mother" Quinn says laughing
"Yes Quinn I carried my five angels the reason I could I have the special ability to do it I'm not going to explain it cause they're children present
