ENJOY...
"Elijah!" Caroline called out as she arrived at the living room where Rebekah and her son were.
"What's going on?" Rebekah questioned.
"Yes?" Elijah replied appearing from nowhere. She glanced at Rebekah before she looked at Elijah.
"I need to clarify somethings with you." She stated. "Did Nik say something about not being happy with me?" Rebekah made a confused look, grabbing Alex from where he sat on the floor as she stood up. She was in no way not hearing what he will say.
"Not at all." He replied but Caroline didn't have it.
"I saw you speak with him in private in his study." She added. "I need to know what made him change his mind! He can not be leaving me just because. I thought we were happy and that we were going to last-"
"That's just it Caroline." Elijah interrupted. "You can not live a full and enriched life with a vampire. You would have to give up being a human in order to be with him. I told him that he would have to ask you to turn into one of us or just leave you alone before he got too attached." Caroline dropped her gaze; both Mikaelson siblings noticed her heart rate quicken.
"Why-" She paused, clearing her throat. "Why didn't he ask?" Elijah straightened himself.
"I believe because he wants you to have a normal life-you and Alexander."
"No!" Rebekah protested, hugging Alex closer to her. "He can not decide this for everyone! I will not and I repeat, will not! Let them leave our lives!"
"Bekah….I'll fix this." Caroline whispered. "Lijah, do you have any idea where he might be?"
"My best guess would be the forest." He answered. Caroline nodded as she went towards Rebekah and Alex. She gave her son a kiss on the forehead and he giggled.
"I'll be back. Take care of him." She said.
"Of course." Rebekah replied before Caroline turned around and she walked outside.
"Nik?" She whispered once she saw him. He was sitting on a log, his hands on his head. "Nik."
"I'm sorry Caroline, but I will not stay with you." He stated without even giving her a look. She kept walking until she reached the log, going to stand in front of him.
"I do not come to beg Niklaus." She states. "I come to give you an answer." He looks up at her with a confused look.
"What answer? I never asked anything?" He asked.
"You didn't….but you wanted to." She replied. He still had no clue as to what she was talking about. "Turn me into a vampire."
"No." He simply answered while shaking his head. "I will not allow you to ruin your life. You have so much potential and you can not throw it away just to be with me." She knelt down, cupping his face with her small hands.
"You're my life and I can't imagine living it without you. My son wouldn't want to grow up without a father as well." She explains. "Don't worry, I'm not being forced to do this. I want to turn." Klaus just leaned in to give her a kiss.
"Do you have any clue what this news does to me?" He whispered as they parted; his forehead rested against hers. He wore a small but blissful smile and Caroline couldn't help but do the same. "I thought I had to lose you and my son and I think I would have gone insane!" He pecked her lips. "I think I would have had to turn my emotions off."
"No, that is not a choice!" She exclaimed. "And I am not going anywhere." She stood up, pulling him with her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, looking down at his angel. "I love you so much for wanting me to have a normal human life." She adds above a whisper.
"I love you too and that is why I wanted you to have a normal life." He replied. He kisses her again, but this time a little more heated. "How about we plan for a second child before you turn into my wife for all eternity?" He wore a devilish grin as he spoke. Caroline chuckled at his suggestion. It wouldn't be bad to have one more child just so Alex wouldn't become lonely if he wishes to stay human.
"I'd love that." Caroline answered before she felt a tree on her back. "Oh, I didn't realize you wanted a second one right now." She added while laughing.
"The quicker the better sweetheart." He breathed out as he kissed along her jawline. His hands worked fast on untying her dress, letting it drop.
"Do you really want to do this in such a quick pace? We are making our second child." Caroline stated. Klaus met her eyes as he thought for a minute. She was right; if they were going to make love it had to be slow.
"You're correct my love." He replied, pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear. He left his hand on her cheek. "Let's go to our room. Ready?" He questioned. Caroline nodded before Klaus moved her closer to him and he flashed them to their room. Just when they entered, he gently laid her on the bed. That night was filled with passion and their second child was happily conceived.
"Again!?" Kol questioned.
"I'm so jealous!" Rebekah exclaimed.
"Yes, Bonnie has just confirmed it." Caroline replied while touching her stomach. Elijah stood up from his seat and he walked towards her, embracing her in a gentle hug.
"Congratulations Caroline." He states. "You have certainly blessed this family."
"Yes you have!" Rebekah added, being the second one to hug her. Kol stayed to the side. Caroline looked at him expectantly.
"I can't believe this." Kol sighed. "You are truly magnificent!"
"And she is all mine." Klaus adds while kissing her cheek and hugging her to the side. Kol slowly walked up to them and he hugged her.
"You are making us all sick love fools." He teases.
"You changed a monster into someone we can love." Rebekah added with a small laugh. Klaus glared at her. "Oh, no...we just awoke him. Get ready for the dagger threats everyone!" Caroline turned to look at him. She kissed his jaw line.
"Don't listen to them honey." She cooed while smiling. "Just remember that we are having another child and all that anger will go away instantly."
"Yes Nik. How can you be miserable when you are getting everything that all of us have ever wanted?" Kol chastised.
"I had no idea you wished to make your own family." Elijah stated. "That is something new."
"Well, you always want what you can't get." He replied. "I see how having a family makes Nik and Caroline happy and I can't help but think of never getting the opportunity to feel that. Bonnie is a few moments away to leaving so she can have her perfect human life and I will be left alone once more."
"Don't think that way." Caroline expressed, moving to hug him again. "You will never be alone with us around. Also, who are we to decide what Bonnie wants. She might want to live an eternity by your side." She cupped his face. "Don't put yourself down. Be happy."
"That's why I love you Care." He replied before he moved his head to look at Klaus. "In a platonic way…"
"I know Kol." Klaus answered.
"Oh my Care!" Bonnie exclaimed. "You had a girl!" She added, pulling the crying baby up for Caroline to see.
"A girl?" Caroline breathed out. "I had a girl!"
"Yes honey!" Bonnie replied with tears welling up in her eyes. "She is so precious."
"Take care of her Bon." Caroline mumbled as her eyes began to flutter.
"Klaus! Klaus!" Bonnie yelled, pressing the baby close to her as she wrapped her up with a cloth. Klaus flashed in the room, his eyes roaming the whole room.
"What's wrong?!" He questioned.
"Grab your daughter, I need to maintain Caroline alive!" She frantically replied, handing the baby to Klaus' arms. She then moved to stand beside Caroline. "Focus on my voice Carebear." She placed her hand on her forehead as she leaned her head back, closing her eyes.
"Ad vitam suam, det ei spiritum vivere in sui custodiam" Bonnie began to chant, first mumbling the phrase and then she began to raise her voice little by little.
"Will she be ok?" Klaus questioned once he saw Bonnie open her eyes. She had them bloodshot open as she stared at her best friend.
"I am not certain. I felt-" She paused. "-I didn't feel her. It was just a small vibration but it wasn't strong."
"I can still hear her heartbeat." He added. "It's slow but she's still alive."
"Let's hope for the best Klaus. This little girl drained almost all her energy….more than Alexander." She informed, taking a piece of wet cloth before going to clean the sweat on Caroline's forehead. "Adjuva conservandum est spiritus ejus." She whispered, barely audible for Klaus to hear.
"I will not move from her side." He stated. "I am going to sit next to her with our daughter….." He looked down at her. "...our daughter that is nameless for the time being until her mother awakes." Bonnie gave him a sad look but decided to not comment. She just kissed Caroline's forehead before she walked out.
*Caroline's POV*
"Where am I?" I asked. I looked around and all I could see was green grass and a beautiful cascade.
"Mama!" I turned to look at my baby boy walk towards me. My little 2 year old.
"Hi Alex!" I exclaim, picking him and giving him a tender kiss on his chubby cheeks.
"I hope I can receive the same greet." Klaus said as he approached us, holding something.
"What do you have there?" I asked. He smiled at me.
"It's not a 'what' sweetheart, its a 'who'." He replied, uncovering what he had. It was my baby girl. My eyes began to get watery as I stretched my hands out to grab her. "She's our daughter."
"Oh my." I breathed once I got her settled in my arms. "She's-"
"Beautiful just like her mother." Klaus finished for me. A tear fell from my eye. I still felt like this was all a dream, why was I feeling that?
"Nik? Where are we?" I inquired, looking up to meet his eyes. He licked his lips as he shifted uncomfortably in place. "Is this a dream?"
"It's something like that." He replied. "I'm inside your head, making up things that you want to see."
"Why?" I was confused. He guided me to sit on a log in front of the small lake. I kept a close eye on Alex.
"Because…" He inhaled a deep breath. "...please don't be frightened."
"Telling me that only heightens that emotion Nik!" I replied almost in panic mode.
"Sweetheart you have to be cooperative with me right now. What I have to say is not easy at all." He explains. "You are not good. You fainted after giving birth to our daughter and you have yet to awake." I stare at him before I look down.
"How long?"
"2 days." He whispered. I bite my lower lip, allowing a few more tears to escape my eyes.
"Is it critical?" I manage to get out.
"No...yes...I'm not quite certain." He replied. "Bonnie isn't sure but I hear your heartbeat everyday, love, and it hasn't stopped one bit."
"Is there an explanation?" I ask.
"Our daughter took a lot from you. She drained most of your energy...more than Alexander." He explained. "Just know that Bonnie is doing everything in her will to get you better." I shook my head.
"I can't believe this." I choke out before I let myself give into the sadness. Klaus quickly wrapped his arms around me, being careful to not hurt our baby.
"Mama, cry?" I heard my son ask. He was at my feet, looking at me with tears forming. I hand my daughter to Klaus and I pick him up.
"No honey. I'm ok, I'm happy." I muster up a smile. "See? Just happiness, not sadness."
"Ok." He replied giving me a smile too before wrapping his little arms around my neck and he gave me a hug. I wanted to break down so badly but I just couldn't. I had to be strong in front of him. He then pulled away and he squirmed in my arms, indicating that he wanted to be let down. I placed him to the ground again and he went back to his task of pulling out the grass.
"Sweetheart, I want you to be optimistic, just like you always are. Think that this will be over before you know it." He suggested. "I love you."
"I love you too." He kissed me before everything went black.
"How was she?" Kol asked once Klaus opened his eyes.
"She was….ok." He replied. "Sadden by the information but with hopes of getting-" Caroline hummed, interrupting Klaus. They all put their attention on her. "Darling?"
"Yes?" She answered with a sleepy voice. Her eyes opened and everyone in the room let out a breath of relief. Klaus gave her a careful hug.
"You are awake!" Rebekah exclaimed. Caroline looked at her confused. Looks like she doesn't remember the dream Klaus made her have.
"Yes, and I'm hungry." She replied, sitting up. "Where's my baby girl?"
"Here." Elijah answered while walking up to the bed with her daughter in his arms.
"Do you feel…." Bonnie trailed off. "How do you feel?" Caroline grabbed her baby, nestling her.
"I feel tired and sore but fine." She answered. "Why?"
"Just checking." She replied. Bonnie decided to not tell her at the moment what went wrong. She has plenty of time to come and tell her. Right now, all she needs is to eat and be with her family.
"What will be her name?" Kol then asked. Caroline looked at him before looking at Klaus.
"I was thinking Sophia?" Rebekah suggested.
"Or Amelia?" Elijah added.
"Or Emily?" Bonnie inquired.
"How about Eloise? Or Annely? Or Anna?" Kol made his own few suggestions.
"I am fond of the name Emily." Caroline concluded. "Nik?"
"Me too." He replied while smiling.
"I guess we have a name." Kol stated. "Emily Mikaelson."
"I adore the sound of the name of Mikaelson used with another first name either than male names or mine." Rebekah added, crossing her arms as she gawked at Caroline holding Emily. This will be a good life after all and it is all thanks to Klaus. Who would have thought?
*8 years later*
"Nik! Can you please tell Alexander to behave?!" Caroline exclaimed. She is tired of yelling at her 10 year old son to stop torturing his little sister.
Caroline had turned into a vampire a year after Emily was born.
"Alexander!" Klaus used his fatherly voice as he walked up to him. "Do you want to speak to me in private?" His son quickly stopped pulling Emily's hair.
"No father." He replied, dropping his sight.
"I thought not." Klaus added. "Now behave and stop with this nonsense of pulling your sister's hair. You are family and you are all you have." Alex turned to look at Emily.
"I'm sorry sister." He apologized. Emily sweetly smiled before she gave him a small hug.
"I still love you." She replied.
"This is how you are suppose to behave all the time." Caroline added. "Now go and freshen up. We are about to sit down and eat supper."
"Is the family coming?" Alex asked.
"Of course, they are visiting." Caroline answered. They didn't live at the Lord's mansion anymore. They moved to a nearby village and once in a while the family would come and visit. Alex's face brightened up before he rushed away towards the bathroom. Caroline could swear that he had inhuman speed. He was not normal and they all knew it. That's why she wanted Bonnie to come.
"Bon Bon, can I have a word?" Caroline questioned when she laid eyes on her best friend.
"Of course." They walked away from the group to have privacy.
"I have a series of questions that concern my children." Bonnie looked intrigued. "Alex has become faster then what a normal human being is and Emily has been doing strange things."
"That-" Bonnie thought. "-that's interesting. My guess is that since they were procreated by a human and a supernatural being, that they are bound to be different from humans. Klaus is a werewolf and that might have to do with Alex and Emily's behavior. They carry on that gene."
"Yes, I understand." Caroline replied. "But Emily isn't fast, or she hasn't developed that power but she can do other things such as, move a pillow without using any physical touch." Bonnie glanced at Kol.
"Has Klaus ever told you that their mother was a witch….and not just an ordinary one but an original witch?" She asked. Caroline shook her head while knotting her eyebrows together. "Well, she was a witch and Klaus carries witch genes. I guess your children are true hybrids...well if they activate their werewolf side, but basically they are hybrids."
"You mean to say that my children are not only part werewolf but they are also part witch?"
"You have a lucky bunch." Bonnie lightly teased. They shared a small laugh. Oh she was really lucky.
*10 years later*
"I am almost as old as you mother." Alex stated as he approached his parents near the waterfall. They moved once again, but now they were a little bit farther from civilization. They had their own hut and supply of water.
"Yes you are honey." Caroline replied.
"But that does not mean you can disrespect her." Klaus added, giving his son a pointed look.
"Yes, I know father." He replied. He was terrified of his father, but in the good way. He had a huge amount of respect for him. "I just want to say that I am going to start making myself some herbs to stay at 20 for a little while. I want to have time to decide if I want to turn into a vampire or outlive you both." Caroline's eyes began to water. "Oh no, don't cry mother." He gave her a comforting hug.
"I strongly dislike the idea of you outliving us." She sobbed. "That is not normal."
"Sweetheart, we aren't normal." Klaus stated while rubbing her back.
"I know, I just can't stand the idea of my baby boy growing old."
"It's still a thought mother." Alex said. "It's not a certainty that I will stay a warlock."
"Well, I want to turn but I also want to stay with my magic." Emily added while joining the little family conversation. Klaus looked at her with adoration. Emily is his little girl and he never wants to let her go.
"You can do the same as your brother my angel, and drink herbs to keep you this age until you have decided." Klaus replied.
"I think that's what I will have to do." She replied, going towards him and wrapping her arms around him.
"And remember, whatever path you both choose, Family is above all." Klaus stated, kissing Emily's head.
*Present times: 2010*
"Coming back to my roots." Klaus stated as he entered his new mansion in Mystic Falls.
"Sure thing brother." Kol added, walking right behind him.
"How could you be happy when you have no idea where Caroline, Alexander and Emily are?" Rebekah scoffed. She took a seat on the couch while crossing her arms.
"She decided to leave and I am ok with her decision." Klaus replied.
"She left because you became obsessed with your need to make your hybrid breed." Kol stated. He never approved of what became of his brother and Caroline.
Klaus turned to glare at him. "Do not make me regret taking you under my wing again." He pointed out.
"Let's find the hidden messages from this statement shall we?" Rebekah rhetorically asked. "If we don't leave the subject of Caroline, Alex and Emily, alone, we will find ourselves daggered and in a coffin stored away like a piece of unwanted meat."
"Bravo sister." Klaus applaud. "Looks like you have finally received a decent brain after the last time I daggered you." She rolled her eyes at him before letting the veins show under her eyes.
"I have come bearing good news to us and I am not so sure, to Klaus." Elijah stated as he entered the living room where everyone was at. He placed on of his hands inside his suit pants while the other one was held in the air as he began to speak. "I have found our missing relatives."
"Relatives as in Caroline, Alexander and Emily?!" Rebekah shouted. Kol had his eyes wide open with a smile plastered on his face.
"Indeed little sister." He replied, glancing at Klaus. His face was frozen. He hadn't heard of them for over 100 years or so.
