I HATE writers block! Sorry its been awhile guys! Anyway, here is chapter twenty three! I hope you enjoy, and I don't own warriors.
Chapter Twenty Three
Snowpaw twitches his tail in anticipation, today Tailwind is taking him to the Moonstone. Redpaw and Falconflight went a few sunrises before and that's all Redpaw has been talking about since.
Snowpaw can't wait to see the Moonstone, from what Redpaw told him it lights the entire cave when the moon rises. Plus I get to meet StarClan warriors! I wonder if Mouseflight will be there...will he tell me more about my prophecy?
Ever since Snowpaw learned of his prophecy he hasn't been able to get it out of his head, especially now since he might get some answers.
Answers...
The word sends a shiver down Snowpaw's spine and he finds himself even more anxious to go.
Luckily Frostpaw already visited the Moonstone in RiverClan and Lightpaw and Thornpaw are still to young so Tailwind and Snowpaw will be making the journey alone.
Good. I won't have three angry she-cats grumbling about me the entire way to the Moonstone. That is what Snowpaw had thought when Tailwind told him this but now he's unsure. He'll be all alone, he at least wants Lightpaw to come. After all she and him are only friends, plus she doesn't want to bite his head off.
"Snowpaw!" Snowpaw turns towards the medicine den were Tailwind was padding from. Snowpaw had suspected his mentor was going to get traveling herbs. So with his heart high, Snowpaw rushes over to his mentor.
"Do you have the herbs?" he asks. Tailwind shakes his head,
"I won't be able to take you to the Moonstone. I reopened a wound while training yesterday." Tailwind explains, Snowpaw's eyes widen.
"Were not going!?" he asks his tail hitting the ground with a thunk. Tailwind shakes his head,
"I'm not going." he meows. Snowpaw frowns, and Tailwind continues. "I've gotten someone else to agree to take you, Sorrelrose." Tailwind flicks his tail towards the white and brown she-cat padding from the medicine den with herbs in her jaws.
So beautiful...Snowpaw finds himself thinking, upon realizing that he shakes away the thought and a look of outrage crosses his face.
"I'd rather wait until you were healed." Snowpaw chokes out. Its not true. Snowpaw wants to go to the Moonstone as soon as possible. But he'd go with anyone...except...Sorrelrose.
Tailwind's green eyes darken and he gives his apprentice a sharp look before turning to Sorrelrose. "Please excuse Snowpaw's rudeness, its just he thought he was going with me." He says, Snowpaw mutters under his breath, resisting the urge to scratch his mentor across the muzzle.
"I'm. Sorry." Snowpaw grumbled. Sorrelrose's blue eyes flashed with hurt and anger, but she simply shook out her pelt and gave Snowpaw a small nod.
"Its fine. We leave a sun high. Be ready." Her tone is icy and Snowpaw's heart sinks as he watches her bound across ThunderClan camp towards where Pigeonpelt is standing outside the warriors den. She whispers something in his ear and Pigeonpelt shoots Snowpaw a look of pure hatred.
Snowpaw digs his claws into the ground, two can play at this game. He thinks crossly before padding towards where Lightpaw is talking to Frostpaw.
"Hey," He says. Sitting down, Lightpaw's green eyes sparkle at his words, Frostpaw on the other hand looks sad and dejected.
"Hi, Snowpaw! I can't believe your getting to go to the Moonstone today! I wish I could go!" Lightpaw exclaims, Snowpaw can't help but purr. The golden furred she-cat is acting like a kit who's about to become an apprentice.
"Yeah. Good for you, it really is amazing." Frostpaw mutters, adding. "Oh and thanks for taking my mentor away from me." Lightpaw cocks her head to one side,
"Huh?" She asks. Snowpaw sighs, glaring at Frostpaw. The RiverClan apprentice just smirks.
"Tailwind injured himself training, so I have to journey with Sorrelrose." He explains. Lightpaw's tail sweeps across the dirt and her normally bright green eyes, darken.
"Oh." She murmurs, her voice a mere whisper. Snowpaw licks her cheek, ignoring the growl from Frostpaw.
"Its OK. I'll be back soon!" He chirps trying to lighten the mood. It doesn't work. Lightpaw just nods numbly and turns and pads into the medicine den. "What's wrong with her?" Snowpaw asks, Frostpaw. Frostpaw glares at him.
"Same thing wrong with Sorrelrose and me." She grumbles, Snowpaw gives her a strange look and Frostpaw snorts. "Toms!" She exclaims before following Lightpaw into the apprentice den.
Snowpaw is about to follow the she-cats and demand what is wrong when Sorrelrose stops him. "Snowpaw!" The white and brown she-cat is calling to him from the entrance to camp. And as much as Snowpaw longs not to travel with her, he's going to the Moonstone!
"Coming!" He calls back, glancing once more at the apprentice den before racing towards where Sorrelrose is seated beside the thorn barrier.
"Lets go." She mumbles, Snowpaw nods.
"Lets."
Shorter than normal! But hey, at least its a chapter! Hope you guys enjoyed and please review!
