Kate's POV

hand in hand Humphrey and I strolled past the train station and into the town. He'd decided we should make the most of being in the new town and have a little wonder around which I'm all of, any excuse to spend more time out with him I'll take with both hands. When he holds my hand I feel so contented and safe. I giggled silently at Humphrey as we walked. He stared around at the clean looking buildings.

The streets were narrow and cobblestoned and there was bunting strung between them, it was one of those places you felt comfortable being in. "You know, when I get a house I want to get a load of flowers and have them in the kitchen or something." Humphrey started bringing me back to reality. He was pointing up to a house above a shop that had a window completely lined with flowers.

"Yeah?" I asked back with a laugh. He looked at me with a sideways expression. "I'm not laughing at you." I added quickly feeling a little wave of anxiety come over me. His expression eased a little and he smiled. "I don't know, I just find them cosy to have around." He replied with a shrug, I don't think even he knows why he likes the idea. "You want to go take a look in there?" He asked nodding past me and towards one of the stores.

It was a one of those small stores that sold things like incent sticks and 'zen' things like quarts light and small fountains. "Yeah sure." I replied with a shrug and we detoured towards the small shop. Inside I let go of Humphrey's had and strolled over to the small box of rings, each with a diffrent type of gem around the edges. I rummaged through the small wooden box and pulled out a ring with small rainbow quartz pieces around the it's edge.

I turned to Humphrey as he was reaching up towards a large quartz lamp, taking it down with care and looking it over with an intrigued expression. I giggled at him before turning back to the box; Maybe I could get him one too. I pushed a few more of these rings out of the way and pulled out another, larger one of the ring I was getting. Having matching ones would be pretty cute. I fired a glance at Humphrey before heading over to the counter.

"Just these two please." I smiled, putting the rings on the glass counter in front of a snow white wolf with dazzling blue eyes. She put her magazine down on the stool beside her and got up. "I didn't even think we had any more of these, they we're so popular when we first got them in." She replied with a smile, scanning the tiny bar codes taped to the rings.

"I'm not surprised, they look amazing." I said as she grabbed a white and blue star pattern bag, dropping the rings in the bag, folding the opening down a few times and handing it to me. "Five dollars please." She smiled, she looked a little anxious about asking me which brought a smile out. I can't blame her, I'd be terrified of asking someone to pay for something.

I grabbed the money from my purse and handed it to her before pushing it and the rings back into my handbag, zipping it up so Humphrey wouldn't see them. "Having fun over here?" I asked strolling up beside Humphrey as he sniffed a box if cinnamon incent sticks. "Yeah you?" He replied, smiling down at me with a cheerful look in his eyes. "Here, what do you think?" He asked holding the box down for me.

I sniffed them and was met with an amazing smell of sweet cinnamon. "Oooo they're nice, were you thinking of getting them for the cabin?" I asked as he withdrew the little box and folded the lid closed again. "Yeah, it's always been what I imagined cabins smelling like." He replied. I giggled at him and shook my head, some of the things he thinks off are so strange. One of the reasons I find him so amazing.

He grabbed another box from the shelf before firing me a warm smile and heading over to the counter. I watched him stroll across the store and waited whilst he paid for the sticks. The way he treats the cabin is like we're moving in, it's pretty cute. "Okay, done." He smiled, turning and holding up a larger version of the paper bag I'd been given. "You ready to go?" He asked, holding his paw out for me.

I felt butterflies in my stomach, as I always did when he let me hold his hand, hug him or anything like that and I accepted it. We strolled out of the store hand in hand and continued aimlessly down the street. As we walked I felt my phone start buzzing in my hand bag. Humphrey let my hand go which sucked a little and unzipped my bag, pulling out my phone. It was mum.

"Hey mum." I started in a cheerful tone. "Hey darling! How is the cabin? Humphrey told us you got there okay." She replied sounding curious. "Yeah we got there fine. It's such a cute place, were just in the town now; got breakfast and Humphrey's brought us some cinnamon incent sticks. "Oh that's sweet, I'm glad your enjoying it, I would've killed for your father to take me to a place like that when we were younger." She replied with a fond tone.

"I did!" Dad called from somewhere in the background. I laughed as mum sighed. "A hotel doesn't count!" She yelled in reply. Dad laughed to himself and mum tutted with a light chuckle before coming back to the phone. "So what are you planning to do today?" She asked curiously. I shrugged and looked up to Humphrey he was absently staring around at the diffrent shops.

"I don't know, we're sort of just walking in town at the moment, I don't know if we're actually going somewhere though." I replied. Mum hummed a sound to show she was thinking. "Why don't you go see if there is anything on in the cinema?" She suggested. I felt something within me click and a smile spread across my face. It'd be like a date.

"That's a good idea, I'll ask Humphrey about it and we'll go see what's on." I replied. "Okay, thank me later." She replied with a chuckle. "Right well I'll let you two get going, I hope you have fine sweet heart, love you." She said in a smiley tone. "I love you too, bye." I replied before hanging up the phone and tucking it back in the bag.

"That was mum." I announced, turning to Humphrey and pushing my hand back into his. "Yeah? How is she?" He asked with a grin. "She's fine, she was saying we could go see a movie." I replied. Humphrey looked astounded that he hadn't thought of it and clicked at me. "You mum is a genius." He smiled, tightening his grip on my hand and pulling off towards the cinema we'd walked past a little earlier. I can't believe we didn't even think about it when walking past it, guess I was too caught up by how handsome Humphrey is.

Humphrey pushed open the cinema door and we headed into a huge lobby with mirrors covering the ceiling and a carpet covered in a movie reel and camera pattern, it smelled like a typical cinema; strongly of popcorn and crisps. "Wow... This is a big joint." Humphrey chuckled, staring at himself in the mirrored ceiling. "Yeah..." I muttered back, spotting a large L.E.D board with the titles of films and when they were starting.

"Oh Humphrey, look!" I exclaimed, spotting 'Alita: Battle Angel' and pointing to it. He looked down at me a little puzzled before following my finger to the board. "What? Alita?" He asked turning and looked it at me with a raised eyebrow. "Uhuh!" I nodded back with a smile. He smiled back and looked at the floor. "Okay then." He said, leading my up towards the now queueless counter.

Humphrey's POV

"How can I help you?" A grey furred male asked, chuckling about something that had been said in his previous conversation. "Can we get two tickets to Alita please?" I asked, pointing up to the board. He followed my finger before nodding and typing something on the till. "You can indeed. Your lucky today because this is the first time it's not been brought out." He smiled, printing two tickets off and handing them too me.

"Anything else I can get for you?" He asked with a smile. I turned and looked at Kate who was staring up at one of the TV's showing an upcoming movies trailer. "Katiepie." I cooed. She jumped a little and turned to the guy at the counter then to me. "Do you want any snacks?" I asked with a smile. She looked up at the menu, thinking. It looked like a pretty difficult decision. "Can we just get a large popcorn and coke and share it?" She asked.

I nodded and turned to the guy. "A large popcorn and a coke please." I said with a chuckle. He nodded and proceeded to bustle around behind the counter making up our food. I glanced down to Kate who had gone back to watching the TV and smiled before looking back at the wolf behind the counter. "Here... You... Go!" He smiled, finishing filling the large cup and pressing a lid on it, followed by two straws.

"That's eleven dollars fifty please." He smiled. I pulled my card from my wallet and held it over the machine. It beeped and I removed it again, pushing it back into it's pocket and putting my wallet away. "Thanks man." I smiled with a nod, letting Kate's hand slip from mine as I picked up the food and tickets and we headed over to a red furred female behind a little desk.

"Hi..." I strained, waving the tickets that I had clamped between my fingers as Kate continued to stare around at the place with a look of awe, she is honestly the cutest girl I've ever met. The girl laughed and took the tickets from me, peering at them before tearing them a little. "Awesome, screen three, up the stairs to your right." She instructed, pointing up the hallway to our right with a smile.

"Thank you, come on Kate." I called, starting up the hallway with Kate not far behind, still gazing at the posters on the walls, she acts like such a child sometimes. With nothing else really to look at Kate came back to reality and rushed to the screen door to hold it open for me. "Thank you my lover." I replied in strange voice not even I thought I could do. Kate giggled as we strolled inside and were met with the sound of a trailer playing through the speakers.

Guess the film as already kind of started. We stayed silent as we strolled down the staircase looking for the row 'E'. "Here." Kate hissed a few stairs behind me. As usual I'd walked straight past it because I can't see a hand in front of me. I headed back up to her and scooted down the isle before plopping myself down on the outside seat with Kate climbing over me and sitting beside me.

"Here." I smiled putting the large drink in the cup holder between us and holding the popcorn where we could both reach it easily. "Thank you so much for this Hummy." Kate cooed with a huge smile, leaning over and kissing my cheek before going back to the trailer for 'Avengers: Endgame'.

As the trailers rolled on the screen slowly began to fill. More and more wolves filled the rows around us as soon it was a few seats from being completely packed again. This would be so bad if it weren't for the fact that the wolf heading down the isle in front of us is really, and I mean really tall. "Oh great." Kate grumbled as he stopped in front of her and sat down, completely blocking her view.

I felt guilt flood me as she did her best to crane around the wolf but to no avail and slumped back in her chair with a pouting expression. I honestly felt like crying for her, it's like the worst thing ever to have someone way to tall sit in front of you in the movies. "Hey... Uhh... Hummy..." She muttered, tapping my lightly on the shoulder. I stopped myself from going to ask the guy to move over one and turned to her.

"I... I know this is a lot to ask... And you don't have to if you don't want to... But... Umm... Would you mind if I... If I sat on your lap... P-Please." She stuttered, hiding herself behind her ears with nerves, almost as if she thought I would get angry. I felt my stomach almost jump with butterflies when she asked and a smile spread across my face which I quickly suppressed and hid.

"Of course you can." I replied softly. Her ears perked up and her face twisted into a smile as she got up and wriggled her way onto my lap, leaning back against me and nuzzling into my neck. "Better?" I whispered putting an arm around her waist to make sure she didn't slip off of me. "Much, thank you Hummy." She replied softly before we continued watching the trailer. *Teenage mind don't fuck me now.* I ordered myself.

We were at the scene where Alita had just been dismembered by Grewishka and I felt beside myself with shock. I couldn't believe that'd happened to her, I was convinced she was going to kill him. I was so into the film until I felt Kate jolt lightly against me with a sniff. "Katiepie?" I asked, leaning forwards a little and putting my ear a little closer to her. I felt my heart drop when I realised she was crying.

"Hey what's wrong?" I asked in a whisper. She gasped once she'd realised I'd noticed and quickly wiped her tears away. "Nothing I just... I don't like seeing people suffer like that in films, it's the screaming that upsets me." She muttered, sobbing and sniffing again. I felt myself starting to tear up at her, she can't get any more adorable can she?

"Aww Katiepie, you such a softie." I cooed with a chuckle rubbing my cheek with my thumb as she cuddled back into my neck. "I'm sorry Hummy, I'm pathetic sometimes." She muttered, trying to play of her upset with a clearly faked chuckle. "No you not, you just have a big heart that's all. It'll be okay." I comforted, stroking her hair as we continued to watch the film.

"What! That can't be the end! Kate exclaimed as the screen cut to black at probably the most unpredictable place. I'll admit even I'm a little shocked at that, it seemed like the most unlikely place for a cliffhanger. "Oh Hummy wasn't that amazing!" She beamed, turning and looking at me over her shoulder with an expression of wonder. I chuckled at her and nodded.

"It was yeah, I'd honestly kill to do something like that." I admitted a little embarrassed as the screen began to empty as the credits rolled. "Really? I'm glad I'm not the only one." She replied with a smile, grabbing the cup and drinking the last little but of Coke in the bottom. "You ready for home then?" I asked, stretching and yawning as she got off of me and adjusted her skirt and stockings.

"Yeah. Thanks again Hummy, that was amazing." She repeated with a grateful tone. I nodded and smiled, grabbing the empty popcorn bucket from the floor and following her out. As we left I shoved the empty things in the bin and left with Kate skipping along in front of me. There's another thing I admirer about her, she hasn't got a care in the world, not even for when we inevitably get bombarded with homework when we get back to school.

"Now we've got to find the car park..." She said, looking around at the diffrent street with a puzzled expression. "I remember the way." I smiled, strolling up beside her and holding my hand out for her. She quickly took it and we carried on walking back towards the bike.

It didn't take us as long to get back as I thought, we really hadn't gone that far. Kate tightened her grip on my paw as we neared the bike, a small spring in her step as we went. Our hands slid apart as I untied our bike gear from the rear of the bike. I gave Kate hers and started to pack the elastic straps away as she dressed. I them pulled my keys from my pocket and pushed them into the bike, starting the engine before changing.

Once I was dressed and had helped Kate zip up her jacket I climbed onto the bike and pushed it off of the side stand. I held my hand out for Kate and she took it, hoisting herself up onto the pillion seat and hugging close to me. "And, we're off." I started, putting the bike in gear and starting down the road towards the exit.

*Seven minute skip*

Finally I was pulled the bike into the drive way of the Cabin. We'd not spoke most of the way home which was kind of nice, peace and quiet was a welcome thing when it decided to show up. I shut the bike off and put it on it's side stand before climbing off after Kate and heading to the cabin. I pulled the keys from my pocket and unlocked the door, following Kate as she barged her way inside and ran to the sofa, throwing herself down on it.

"Someone's happy to be back." I laughed, pulling off my helmet and other bike things, putting them neatly in the chest by the door. Kate gasped with relief once she'd got her helmet off of her head and sighed. "Too right, I really missed this place." She laughed, slowly pulling herself back up and undressing out of her bike clothes, heading over to the chest and putting them inside. "Right then, how about we whack on one of those incent sticks." I smiled.

I grabbed the paper bag back off of the table and grabbed the already opened box of incent sticks. I unfolded the lid and pulled one from the box before tucking it back inside the bag and heading over to the mantle piece. I slotted the stick into the holder and used the lighter to light it, letting it cinder for a few seconds before blowing it out and letting it smoke. It smelled like heaven.

"Oooo that's good." Kate hummed, strolling up beside me and taking a deep sniff of the cinnamon incents. "Right then. I better get started on dinner, anything you fancy?" I asked, starting off towards the kitchen leaving Kate with in the living room. "Uhhh... Make what ever you like Hummy." She replied with a kind smile before heading over to the sofa and plopping herself down, grabbing the TV remote. I'm feeling like lasagne tonight.

Kate's POV

As Humphrey cooked up our dinner I decided to watch the ghost adventure episodes from last night, I'll never be able to deal with them unless I get used to the jump scares every so often. As I watched the episode I could hear a buzzing coming from my hand bag. I sighed and leaned forwards, grabbing it from the table and unzipping it. I reached in for my phone but stopped when I felt something that felt like a paper bag. I took hold of that instead and pulled it from the bag, leaving my phone to ring out.

*What is this?* I asked myself, unfolding the opening of the bag and pulling it open a little. It was the rings I'd brought me and Humphrey, how could I have forgotten them! I closed the bag back up and held it in my fist, getting up and heading over to Humphrey who was dressed in a pink apron and whistling 'The Kids Aren't Alright as he worked.

"Hummy! Could I borrow you a second?" I called over his song. He stopped whistling and turned the heat down on the hob, turning and strolling over to me. "How can I help you?" He asked in a mocking, posh waiter tone. I giggled at him and shook my head, rolling my eyes and I put the bag on the table. "Oh cool, you got stuff from that place too?" He asked, looking up at me with a smile.

I nodded and picked the bag back up, turning it upside down and shaking it. The two rings fell out and clacked against the work surface. "Oooo, very nice." He said in a jokey tone, picking the larger one up and peering at it. "That's yours." I muttered as he traced a finger along the gems in the rings side. He stopped dead and looked past it and too me with looking like he hadn't quite heard me properly.

"Really?" He asked, looking back at it, then to me again. I nodded and picked the smaller one of the two up from the table, pushing it onto my middle finger. "Yeah, I brought us matching? Cute right?" I asked with a smile, holding my hand forwards to show him. His usual goofy smile spread across his face and he pushed the ring on the same finger.

"A perfect fit, I'm surprised." He chuckled before looking up at me with a warm smile. I stared into his eyes and smiled back before feeling confidence falter. He'd captured me again in those deep lagoons, locked me in his stare and throw away the key. "Hey Hummy..." I started as he went to go back to the stove. He turned back to me and smiled again.

I could feel myself growing more and more shy by the second as he gazed into my eyes. "You know you mean the world to me right?" I asked. His smiled faltered a little and he started to look worried and nervous. "Yyyeah..." He replied, raising an eyebrow which didn't help my anxiousness. "And... You know I never want to loose you, right?" I asked again as he headed around the counter to me. "I do... Is everything okay?" He asked sounding beyond concerned.

"Well... I just... Ugh, Hummy I don't think I'd be able to live without you. I feel more confident when I'm with you, I feel more happy than ever when I'm with you and I never want to be without you." I blurted, angry at my own nervousness. He looked taken aback by my subtle aggression but he didn't move. "Your my world Humphrey, my everything and I... I just wanted tell you that... I... I..." I muttered. I was mostly terrified for his response but also was waiting for the inevitable interruption... But it never came.

"I love you Humphrey." I finished, closing my eyes tight and holding my arms tightly to my sides. I'd done it, I'd finally admitted how I feel about him. He didn't respond; was he upset? Does he not feel the same? Oh god what if I've ruined everything.

I jolted and cowered as his hands met my arms and held them lightly. His finger caressed my chin and he lifted my head so he could look into my eyes. "Kate..." He muttered gravely. I could feel myself starting to tear up... But he started to smile.

"You have no idea how long I've waited to hear that." He said with the biggest and brightest smile I'd ever see on him. All my worry melted away into nothing and all I felt was love, pure and strong. I threw myself forwards and jumped at him. He held my legs as I wrapped my arms around his neck and pushed my lips to his and we kissed. I can't believe what's happening and nor can I describe this feeling, I feel whole, I feel like my soul is completed.

We held the kiss for a few seconds before I reluctantly separated and we rested our heads together, our eyes making a deep and much more meaningful connection than ever before. "I love you too, so so much." He smiled, looking more nervous than I think I am. I giggled back at him and shook my head before pushing my lips back against his for another kiss. He really does love me back, finally I feel completed after all this time. I can't wait to tell mum and dad about this!

A/N: Happy first birthday 'There for each other'! :D, yeah I know it took me long enough but it was worth the wait right ! It's been one hell of a ride so far but its only going to get better! Also I've decided I'm never going to end this story so don't worry about it ever coming to a close :D
