Alright, so Christmas kicked my ass. Between work and my new PS3 (With all of the Kingdom Hearts games), I've been unfortunately putting this story off much more than I would like to admit. Hopefully I can get back into the groove of writing.

Now this chapter, contrary to the title, is actually before Christmas, and there won't be a chapter that takes place on Christmas day. It'll be this one, the next one, and then after Christmas. But due to the nature of the two chapters, it is more-or-less their Christmas.

So, without any more delay, here's the next chapter.

Days passed in a seeming instant, and each one's passing saw the Winter Dance draw ever closer. It had been an event that most of the student body looked forward to; the last day of school before the long Christmas Break, and, for some, the last time they'd see each other until afterward.

This would be the case with Yang and Weiss. The heiress and her family were headed up to Atlas for the break. It worked two-fold; see family they hadn't seen since last year, and to check up on the state of the Atlas division of the SEC. At least, those were the official reasons. There was a third, one that only arose due to some recent changes. That reason?

It separated Weiss and Yang for the time.

Yang tried not to dwell on that thought, and instead worried about herself and, more importantly, Weiss. Worry might seem like a negative word, but in this case, it wasn't meant to be. Instead of worrying about something bad, as she had done several times in the recent past, she was instead worrying about a problem many people faced whenever Christmastime came around.

Yang was wondering what gift to get for Weiss.

It was this thought that was in Yang's mind as the blonde sat in her bedroom, 2DS in hand. She had decided that, in order to clear her head, and hopefully find a burst of inspiration, she should play her newest game; Pokémon Omega Ruby. The original had been the first game she remembered playing and beating, and it was the beginning of her fondness of gaming in general.

The remake was different, to say the least. Sprites, which had been the pinnacle of hand-held graphic at the time, gave way to full 3D models. Also, the game introduced the ability to sneak up on wild Pokémon, allowing one to find slightly better Pokémon fairly early.

Which was what Yang was trying to do now. She hadn't even made it to the third town yet, instead trying to build a team she could have faith in for the long-haul. Her current team was 6 members and consisted of her starter Torchic, a Poochyena, a Zigzagoon, a Seedot, a Surskit, and a Silcoon. She was looking for a Ralts, a rare Pokémon that could only be found in the area before the third town, Petalburg City.

The problem was, she had yet to even see one. She knew she hadn't missed it, because the lower screen, her 'PokéNav', didn't show a Ralts anywhere, while it showed every other wild Pokémon she had seen (and caught). Even in the original, she had trouble finding one, but she had only tried to catch one after she had already beaten the Elite Four. She wanted to have one for her entire run this time around.

As she found what felt like the thousandth Zigzagoon, her phone buzzed, playing a soft tone reserved for when Weiss messaged.

*what r u doing?*

-playing pokemon-

Yang didn't need to read the next message to know what it said, though she still did anyway.

*nerd :P*

-u know it-

She chuckled as continued her search. In the time it took Weiss to type her reply, the blonde found two Poochyenas and another Zigzagoon.

*remind me again y we r together?*

A smirk.

-well im hot-

*hotheaded maybe*

- -_- thx-

*that doesnt mean i dont like it*

-pls u know u love it-

Another pause, and several encounters, though none were the elusive Ralts.

*probably*

*lol*

*so which one are you playing?*

Yang chuckled.

-omega ruby-

*so the one named after ur sister?*

-hey she was the one who chose sapphire not me-

*of course*

More Zigzagoons.

-you ever played a pokemon game babe?-

*when i was younger*

The blonde gave the words a short second take.

-really now?-

*and now shes going to make a big deal of it...*

-hey i resent that-

*no u dont :P*

A short pause.

-true-

-which game?-

*sapphire*

-ah i see-

-any others?-

*no*

-didnt like it?-

*not that*

*my father just didnt think it was good for me*

-of course-

-i always knew there was a little gamer in u-

*thx -_-*

-hey i mean that in the most sincere way possible-

*of course u did*

Several minutes went by, with several more non-Ralts Pokémon ecountered.

-oh joy-

*what r u yapping about?*

-did u really just say yapping?-

*when u get going ur like a dog*

Yang raised an eyebrow.

-ruff ruff-

She could hear the facepalm.

*so anyway what were u going to say?*

-trying to catch a ralts-

*oh*

-yeah its not going well-

*u do know ur supposed to throw a ball at it right?*

-oh haha-

*:)*

-i havent even seen the damn thing-

*just look harder*

-since when did u start becoming sassy?-

*sometime after i met u*

-u blaming me for this?-

*never blamed u*

*just made an observation*

-whatever-

Throughout the entire conversation, she encountered enough Pokémon that most of her team was already nearing level 9. Even the Seedot that could do nothing but Bide had gotten several levels in the last few minutes.

She decided to just continue with the game, both because Petalburg was literally a few steps to her left, and because, knowing her luck, if she waited until she had Ralts, she'd probably never get on with the story.

As she approached the Gym, where her character's father was, she got another message from the heiress.

*find one?*

-not yet-

*sucks to be u*

-meanie-

*luv u 2*

Yang rolled her eyes.

*y r u so set on getting a ralts anyway?*

-cuz its a good pokemon-

-besides i like having a good spread of types-

*id have thought ud pick fire types*

The blonde chuckled.

-trying to say something babe?-

*ur the one who said ur hot*

-and im not denying that ;)-

-but ive always picked a fire type for my starter-

*well thats a shocker*

Yang did all this while 'helping' the character Wally catch his starter, a Ralts. Yang smirked when she saw the thing. She hoped that maybe, having seen the thing might make it easier to find. Knowing her luck though, probably not.

-okay then whats the ice queens strategy?-

*water and ice types mainly*

Yang almost laughed aloud.

-hypocrite-

*i wasnt the most inventive kid alright :(*

She could hear the annoyed tone in the words.

-not saying its a bad strategy-

-just that its hilarious-

There was a lull in the messages as Yang returned to the route where a Ralts could be found. She encountered several other types of Pokémon, and she was about to give up when she finally found a level 3 Ralts.

Which she promptly managed to knock out with a single attack from her weakest Pokémon; Zigzagoon.

-goddamn crits-

*having fun over there?*

-i just killed the damn thing when i was trying to catch it-

*lol*

-IT ISNT FUNNY!-

*sry but it is to me*

-u really r a meanie-

Fortunately, it seemed that finding one Ralts triggered another one to appear only a few encounters later. She tried again with her Zigzagoon, knocking its health down to just above halfway. The Ralts growled, the only move a wild one would ever know, and she chanced attacking again.

This time, with her attack lowered by Growl, the Ralts's HP went just into the red. She threw a PokéBall at it and, three shakes later, she had her very own Ralts.

-gotcha u little fucker-

*wtf?*

*do i even want to know?*

Yang rolled her eyes.

-finally caught a ralts-

*congratulations*

*u want a reward?*

-what if i said yes?-

*well...*

Yang waited as there was no reply for a few moments.

-what r u doing?-

She had barely finished typing the words when a picture appeared on her phone, cropped so that it could fit in the text box on her screen. She tapped it, opening the full picture. She nearly burst into laughter.

It was a picture of a piece of paper, with the word 'Reward' written smack-dab in the middle.

-clever girl-

*so ive been told*

Yang began the slow process of leveling her newest member of her team to a level that matched the others. She would start with Ralts, then switch to a better Pokémon immediately; enough for the Ralts to gain experience, but never to allow it to be attacked by an opponent.

As her Ralts hit level 7 (no other Pokémon was under 10 at this point), she typed up another message to Weiss.

-u should get one of these-

*?*

-one of the new pokemon games-

*oh*

-its not like u cant afford it-

*well no*

*but i havent played a game in years*

Yang chuckled.

-cuz thankgiving only comes every few years now-

*oh u know what i mean*

-:P-

-besides u didnt seem all that out of practice then-

*well thats cuz u arent as good as u think*

-thems fightin words-

*u know ill just kick ur ass again*

-id like to c u try-

There was a short pause.

*ur on*

Yang smirked as she continued through Petalburg Forest. She fought the Team Magma grunt that blocked her way as she neared the end (Ralts was useless against the dark-type Poochyena), and then got an Exp. Share. Odd; that was usually reserved for much later in the game. Deciding not to look that gift horse in the mouth, she simply turned the thing on (actually, off then on, as it was given to her already on), and then continued onwards to Rustburo.

After getting there, she simply ground out several levels; she always strove to have her Torchic evolve into Combusken before the first gym, since the secondary Fighting-type made an excellent counter to Roxanne's Rock-types. Besides, as stereotypically casual as it was, the Torchic line was amongst her favorite Pokémon in the entire game.

Her lowest level Pokémon (Poochyena) hit level 15 as she felt her phone vibrate for the first time in over an hour and a half.

*whats ur friend code?*

The blonde gave the message a curious look over.

-what?-

*ur ds friend code u idiot*

That didn't help the confusion much.

-wait did u just go out and buy a ds and a pokemon game?-

*what led u to make that intuitive leap?*

-seriously?-

*omg yes u idiot*

The blonde just hit the home button one her 3DS and found the required information.

-4036 3804 1436-

Yang waited as Weiss put the code into her DS. She then saw the notification pop up a few seconds. Apparently, Weiss's Username was 'IceQueen'.

-very original-

*hypocrite*

The heiress had a point; 'Blawndee' wasn't exactly the most creative name out there for a blonde. Yang then saw that Weiss had indeed bought Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, the other half of the pair. She chuckled slightly as she returned to her game.

She had barely taken a few steps when Weiss sent her a chat invite. Well, that was certainly a surprise, though not a bad one.

Yang accepted and a few moments later, the heiress sighed. "Good, that worked..." She breathed.

The blonde chuckled amusedly as she entered the Rustburo Gym for the first time. "What? Didn't think it would?" She commented as she started towards where the leader Roxanne waited.

There was a huff. "I couldn't see what you were doing." The heiress answered evenly. "I wasn't sure what was going on."

Yang nodded once. "Yeah, sorry about that. I turned that off." She informed as she fought the first trainer in the gym. "So, what made you run out and suddenly get a 3DS?" She asked as she sent out her level 18 Combusken.

There was sound on the other side of the conversation, likely Weiss shifting somewhat. "Why not?" She retorted easily. "Besides, I needed to prove to you I could kick your ass in a battle." She added confidently.

Yang laughed silently. "Alright, I've been a bad influence on you." She started, her voice a bit strained from holding back her laughter. "But I'm afraid you're wrong on that part, my love." She added, defeating the trainer handily as she did so.

Weiss chuckled. "We'll see about that, dear." The heiress's voice matched the confident tone in Yang's perfectly, though with the way her voice lowered, there was no hiding the arrogance there as well.

To that, the blonde smirked. "Well then, I guess I can wait." She commented, approaching Roxanne. "Let me know when you've defeated the first gym." She added, starting her battle with Roxanne. Unless something horrific went down, she'd have no trouble winning this encounter.

The heiress audibly smirked. "Count on it." She spoke.

They shared easy conversation as Yang defeated Roxanne (surprisingly without having to use Combusken). She decided to level up different Pokémon than her usual team in the time it would take Weiss to get to Rustburo. She headed back to Petalburg, her new team being a Wingull, a Silcoon, a Cascoon, a Slakoth, Nincada, and Shroomish. None of them were over level 10 yet, but thankfully, with her Exp. Share, it wouldn't take long to get them to a level comparable to her main team.

As Yang arrived in Petalburg, Weiss let out a short sigh. "So, what's the plan for the Dance?"

The blonde paused a moment. She had originally started playing in the hope that it would free her mind up to think of a gift, but she hadn't done much of that. Talking to the heiress made that a bit of a distant idea. Still, she had to think of something, and fast; the dance was in a few days.

So, Yang shrugged. "Dunno." She said honestly, a teasing tone in her voice. "I thought you were taking care of that." She added, entering a battle with a low level Poochyena.

The heiress let out a chuckle. "Typical." She teased. Yang barely had the retort in her throat when Weiss was continuing. "Well, my father's not going to be here, so that's taken care of."

Yang nodded. "Okay, then what time do you want me to pick you up?" She asked, her Slakoth hitting level 7 after a longer-than-it-should've-been battle. Seriously, Truant was the worst ability ever. Of all time.

Weiss chuckled silently. "Sorry babe, but if I'm going to wear something nice, I'm not getting on that thing." She commented humorously. "I'll just have Friedrich pick you up."

The blonde hummed in reply. "You know 'that thing' has a name, right?" She pointed out in good nature.

There was some shifting. "I can't believe I'm second to a damn motorcycle." Again, there was no real malice in the words. The chuckling in Weiss's voice betrayed any intent they may have had, anyway.

Yang chuckled. "Nah, no way." She commented, pausing slightly. "My hair, though..."

There was a short laugh. "Oh, I almost forgot about that." The heiress spoke. She then paused suddenly. "You said Ralts was hard to find, right?"

Yang narrowed her eyes at the screen, as if Weiss could actually see it. "Don't tell me you've already found one?" She asked shortly.

A hum. "Caught it too." Came the answer. "Seriously, what took you so long?"

Yang almost threw her DS.

The rest of the week went by quickly and without much fanfare. Most of it was spent preparing for the upcoming Winter Dance; unlike the last 'dance' they went to, which was more-or-less spontaneous, this one had several days of planning before it. Which meant lots of emotions.

Normally, for a dance like this, Yang would spend all of three minutes on her outfit. Usually she'd pick out the first dress that caught her fancy, and then a pair of matching shoes, and she'd be done. It had worked every time in the past.

But this time, the blonde spent most of the week planning her outfit, down to the most miniscule detail. She didn't want anything less than perfect. Every hair had to be in the right place; every crease in her dress smoothed away.

When Friday night came around, Yang immediately started to prepare her outfit. It was a simple white dress and a pair of matching high-heels. It was simple, but after agonizing over what she was going to wear throughout the week, the blonde finally decided to go with something simple, if only because she had to wear something.

But by far, the hardest part about the week was the few hours after school let out for the holiday. There was still some texting going on between the two, but Weiss was being annoyingly cryptic about the plans moving forward. The blonde had tried asking (mostly in jest) about what to expect, but every time she did, Weiss answered with, 'You'll see.'

Needless to say, Yang was a bundle of barely restrained nerves by 6pm.

Both girls sat in the living room; Yang sat across from the TV, currently running through the daily mission in Destiny, while Ruby sat in the smaller couch, watching the blonde's Warlock destroy dozens of Vex without so much as a challenge. Ruby's outfit was, like Yang's, simple; a red and black dress that was much less modest than what Ruby usually wore. She had decided not to wear her hood, if only because her father had decided that it needed to be washed, and Yang flat-out told her she couldn't wear it.

Yang was fighting through the robotic enemies with much more dedication than she usually showed. The younger sibling noticed this. "I haven't seen you this nervous in a while, Yang." She commented, loud enough so that Yang would hear it.

The blonde paused a moment, the enemies having been dispatched, and let out a short sigh. "A little." She answered the inferred question simply. "It's just been so...frustrating." The words were a bit breathy, spoken with a sigh.

Ruby gave her a curious look. "Did something happen?" She asked carefully.

Yang noticed Ruby's worry and shook her head. "Nothing like that." She answered quickly. "God, nothing like that. It's just...stupid, I guess." Another sigh. The younger sibling's face hardened a bit, entirely playfully. The blonde huffed. "She won't tell me what's gonna happen tonight."

Ruby paused a moment, then let out a short chuckle. "So you're nervous because Weiss is going to surprise you?" She asked with a small hint of mirth in her voice. "That's funny."

The blonde gave Ruby a playfully hurt face. "Not cool, sis." She retorted easily. "What's Blake got in store for you, then?" She flipped the conversation immediately.

The younger sister smirked. "Dunno. No sense worrying over it, either." She answered instantly. "Unlike you, I can appreciate a good surprise."

The blonde chuckled simply. "Like that time Ember woke you up a few days ago?" She asked with a devious smirk.

Ruby's face went redder than her cape. "That was different!" She defended with a small whine. "And he was licking my face! That's so gross!"

Yang just laughed more. "That just means he loves ya, Rubes." She commented as she started her battle with the Vex Gate Lord. Sniper in hand, she quickly took out most of its health. "So what time should Blake be here?" She asked as more Vex were spawned.

The younger girl let out a short sigh. "A few minutes." She answered. Yang looked at the clock next to the TV; 6:20p, it read. "Did Weiss tell you when she'd be here?" She asked in return.

Yang shook her head. "Nope." She said, accentuating the 'p' sound. "Every time I ask, she just says 'You'll see.'" She clarified with faux annoyance.

Ruby chuckled. "A mystery. How intriguing." She commented, getting an eye-roll from the blonde. "Relax. I'm sure it'll be great."

The blonde nodded. "Of course it'll be." She started easily, the large Vex falling to a well placed rocket launcher shot. "But it'd be nice to know that 'it' is." She added with a small, false hint of annoyance.

The younger girl chuckled just as headlights were seen in the living room. Ruby, nearest to the window, peeked outside and smiled. "Well, I think you're about to find out." She spoke simply.

Yang noticeably perked up, approaching the door to peak out the window there. In the driveway sat the familiar white car of Friedrich. The blonde smirked. "Alright, time to go." She gave her sister a short salute, one that Ruby returned, and then headed outside.

Friedrich gave her a small wave as she approached. She slid into the back of the car; it was just as luxurious inside as it looked outside. However, there was one thing that Yang noticed the car was lacking.

"Um, where's Weiss?" Yang asked immediately.

Friedrich hummed silently as he backed out of the driveway. "I'm afraid I cannot answer that question." He answered easily. "Or rather, I've been asked not to answer that question." He rectified, getting a curious look from the blonde.

"Weiss?" She asked simply. Friedrich nodded. "I see..."

After the exited the neighborhood and headed towards the freeway, Yang pulled her phone out and sent a message to the heiress.

-mind telling me where ur taking me?-

*ull see*

-not helping-

*not trying to ;)*

Yang nearly facepalmed.

The driver chuckled slightly. "I'm afraid you'll have better luck drying out the ocean." He commented humorously. "Miss Weiss is very determined."

Yang smirked. "No, she's just stubborn." She corrected simply. "So, can you at least tell me where we're going?" She asked after a moment.

Friedrich shook his head. Yang sighed. "Figures." So, instead, the blonde just looked out the window, watching the scenery whiz by.

They were headed towards downtown, the opposite direction of the school. This didn't shock Yang all that much; she assumed that Weiss wanted to have a dinner before the dance itself. However, the blonde didn't even know where she was going, or whether she'd be able to find something she liked.

The blonde leaned back slightly, the leather upholstery soft despite its rough nature, and let out a sigh. Friedrich remained focused on the road, and didn't even seem to notice the blonde. Not that Yang would've cared; she didn't have anything against the man, especially since he was risking a lot to help Weiss defy her father. However, Yang didn't really have the same rapport with the man that Weiss had, so conversation between the two was unlikely.

So instead, Yang let her mind wander, thinking back to the last few days. Immediately her mind went to the gift she had bought for Weiss. While Yang didn't have any pockets to hide it (and she didn't carry a purse), she kept it on her person. It had taken hours upon hours of scouring every store in the mall to find it; Weiss wasn't the easiest person to shop for, after all. But once Yang had found it, she knew she had a great gift.

What was it? Well, that was a secret. She hadn't told anybody about it, not even Blake, the master of secret-keeping. Yang trusted Blake, but this was a different situation. Yang wanted to see Weiss's face when she found out. She was selfish like that.

Eventually, her thoughts were broken when the car pulled off the freeway, heading to an expensive part of town. Yang had never been here before; she knew where it was, but that was the most she could say about it. There were several stores built into strip malls running parallel to the main road, with parking areas between the two. It was here that Friedrich parked, just in front of a small jewelry shop. "We're here." He announced simply.

Yang looked around. She didn't doubt that Weiss was in the area. She just didn't see her anywhere. Something didn't feel right, though. It felt like she was being played with, and she didn't like that. "Uh, forgive my ignorance, but where exactly is 'here'?" She asked with a small chuckle.

The driver mimicked it. "I'm afraid that Weiss has asked me not to say." He answered cryptically. "Just that she wanted you here." A small shake of his head and a smile. "She is waiting, you know?" He added.

The blonde just let out a short sigh. "Alright, then. Thanks." She got out of the car and waited as Friedrich backed out and pulled away. After that, Yang scanned the area again. There wasn't a lot of people in the area, so it wouldn't have been hard to notice the heiress. But she didn't see any white, which meant Weiss either wasn't here, or she was already inside an establishment.

Letting out a defeated sigh, the blonde pulled out her phone.

-alright ill bite where r u?-

*r u where friedrich dropped u off?*

-ya-

*turn towards the big sign*

Yang looked up and saw what Weiss was talking about; it was less a sign and more a billboard, an advert for some radio station.

-ok...-

*start walking*

An eyebrow went up.

-what?-

*just do it*

-yes maam-

Yang started walking, stopping only at the crosswalk. She kept her eyes scanning the buildings, though, hoping that maybe she could see inside and find the heiress.

-mind telling me y im wandering the streets?-

*because i told u to*

-ok-

-what am i looking for?-

*ull know it when u see it*

That didn't help much. Or at all. Still, with nothing else to go on, Yang continued walking, making sure she kept scanning the buildings she passed. Nothing stood out amongst the seas of festive colors. A few of the buildings she passed had outdoor speakers and were playing Christmas music, while others had music that fit with the theme of the store inside.

There wasn't much left of this road when Yang looked up. There was a crosswalk, but there wasn't a continued road. Instead, it was just a bunch of trees. Or rather, a park that was full of trees.

-so im at the end of the road here...-

*and?*

-and i still havent found u-

*well then keep looking*

-not helping-

*not trying to*

The blonde groaned, crossing the road and talking a quick look into the park. It was bigger than the one downtown; that one was less a park and more a garden. This was an actual park; it even had a name, according to the sign; Hartfield Park. Under the sign was a small footnote; "Maintained by funds donated by the Schnee Electric Company."

-oh-

*good girl*

Yang found the entrance to the park and headed inside. Despite the fact that the sun had set long ago, the gates were still open. Probably because Weiss used some of her power, but since the hours were 6am to 10pm, that probably wasn't the case. Still, there were only a few people inside the park. A few being at least one; Yang.

Some light from inside the park, nestled under what looked like a picnic area, made the one a two; in the distance, the blonde could barely make out the heiress. She was sitting at one of the metal picnic tables, a small basket to her right. She wasn't facing the blonde, so Yang couldn't see her entire outfit. But even the back of it looked amazing. It was, from what Yang could see, a light-blue dress, coming down just below the heiress's knees. It was much more modest when compared to Yang's.

As the blonde approached, the heiress let out a hum. "You can be really thick sometimes, you know that?" She greeted, her voice a playful jab. As Yang moved around, she could see more of the detail in the outfit. The back made it seem modest; the front, not-so-much. There was a heart-shaped cutout just above the heiress's cleavage, though it was very small. The cutout, that is. Her midriff was also exposed. In fact, the more Yang looked, the more she realized that this wasn't a dress, but a blouse and a skirt instead.

Makeup wise, Weiss went simple. Just a light tinting of blush to accent her cheeks, some eyeshadow of a color that was difficult to make out, and light-pink lipstick. The scar was left untouched, save where the other makeup crossed over it.

"Wow." Of all the words in the English language, that had to be the one Yang used in response. "You look...wow."

Weiss chuckled. "Words, Yang. You can use them." She spoke humorously.

The blonde shook her head. "Don't wanna." She countered as she took her seat across from the heiress. "So...this is nice." She quickly changed the subject, looking around the area. It was covered, likely for shade more than protection from rain.

The heiress nodded once. "It is." She answered.

Yang returned the nod. "Mind telling me why we're here, though?" She asked without missing a beat. "You know, other than your family pretty much owning it."

Weiss sighed with a small chuckle. "We don't own it. We just pay to keep it clean." She started, sliding the basket over. "Besides, I like it here." She opened the basket and pulled out two paper plates.

The blonde nodded, pulling the plate closer. "But a picnic? Really?" She asked, motioning to the basket and the table. "I mean, I'm all for one, but in the middle of winter?" Granted, it wasn't cold; despite a few days where the temperature dropped to near freezing, this winter had been fairly mild so far.

The heiress rolled her eyes. "First off, it's not winter yet." She corrected, getting an eye roll in return from the blonde. "Besides, I'm sure you'll pig out at the dance anyway."

Yang's eyes narrowed as the heiress chuckled. "I do not 'pig out'." She stated, making air-quotes and mimicking the heiress's voice. "I just happen to eat a lot, okay? How do you think I got these?" She added, bringing her hands up and grabbing her breasts.

Weiss's face tinted a slight pink, though she tried to hide it by grabbing the food out of the picnic basket. "You are seriously hopeless." She commented with a small chuckle.

The blonde nodded once. "Hey, I'd think you'd appreciate them too." She continued, her voice teasingly serious.

This time, Weiss's face went a deeper red, her blush not able to hide the way her face flushed like an apple. "Sh-shut up." She stuttered, grabbing a small bottle of what looked like wine and setting it on the table.

Yang's eyebrow went up towards her hairline, but the heiress shook her head. "It's not wine, you dolt." She said, turning the bottle so the blonde could read it. Indeed, it was simply sparkling grape juice, completely non-alcoholic.

Yang playfully pouted. "Too bad." She started, leaning over the table slightly. "I kinda want to see drunk Weiss now." Her words were low and simple.

This time, the heiress sighed. "No you don't." She answered, grabbing two wine glasses (plastic ones, Yang noticed) and pouring the grape juice into each one. "It isn't pretty."

That got the blonde's attention. "Really?" She questioned with some humor. "Let me guess; doesn't settle well with you or something?"

Weiss sighed again as she pulled out the last of the picnic; it wasn't fine dining, that much was sure. It was simply some sandwiches and two small sandwiches, one for each of them. There was also some fruit; apples, oranges, and some strawberries. "Are you done?" She asked simply, handing the blonde one of the glasses.

Yang took it with a shrug, sipping the drink once. "Maybe." She answered easily. "So, what's the plan?" She questioned as the heiress started distributing the food.

As she finished making the first plate, Weiss smirked. "You'll see." She answered cryptically as she slid the plate to Yang.

The blonde huffed. "Okay, seriously." She started, her voice falsely annoyed. "That's getting a bit old."

Weiss just nodded. "Too bad." She countered easily as she took a bite out of her sandwich.

Yang sighed with a small chuckle and took a bite herself. It was good, and yet bland. Like something that had been engineered to taste good, but took away everything else. Still, Yang didn't want to admit this. She figured the heiress had made them, since everything else so far was her idea. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to criticize your girlfriend's culinary skills, after all.

A few bites into her sandwich, Weiss nodded to the blonde. "You know, I would've thought you'd have worn yellow." She commented simply.

The blonde rolled her eyes. "I'm sorry to disappoint you." She countered playfully. "Just because I like the color doesn't mean I don't wear the others, you know."

The heiress chuckled slightly. "Sorry." She spoke, taking a sip of her drink. "It looks good."

It was a simply comment, one that Yang had heard hundreds of times in the past with regards to her outfits. Each time in the past, she either rolled her eyes at it (of course it looked good; it was her!), or she blew it off (creeps). But, this time, the blonde did neither. She had to suppress a small blush, one she hid by taking another bite of the sandwich. "Thanks." Was all that she could manage to answer with.

The rest of the meal was eaten with light conversation, and before long the entire picnic had been consumed. It really wasn't a lot; it satisfied their hunger for now, but there was no doubt that they'd probably eat more at the dance itself. Still, it did its job well, and that was all that was needed.

As Weiss was putting the leftovers away in the basket, a car pulled into the parking lot nearby. Yang recognized the car as that of Friedrich's, the white glossy paint glowing even in the pitch black darkness. "So, our ride's here, I'm assuming." She said simply.

Weiss nodded once. "Yes. I told him we had finished." She answered immediately. She closed the basket and stood up, motioning for Yang to do the same. "Alright, you brute, let's go." She added playfully.

The blonde huffed. "As you wish, your majesty." She countered, even going so far as to add a bow to the words. The heiress rolled her eyes with a smile, but said nothing in retort as she headed to the car.

Yang jogged to catch up, wrapping an arm around the heiress as she got to her side. As they approached the car, the blonde chuckled slightly. "How good are your dance moves?" She asked, trying to keep her voice calm.

Weiss raised an eyebrow at her. "What are you talking about?" She questioned as she slid into the backseat of the car. "I know how to dance."

The blonde shook her head. "Not those kinds of moves, babe." She corrected, this time with a slightly lusty undertone in her voice.

The heiress looked at her in confusion for a few seconds before the realization hit her.

And then her hand hit Yang's cheek.
