A/N: This is my first Megan and Tommy fan fiction so please be kind. I got the idea after watching the show from season 1 -3 and the most important thing is that you will like it and I apologise for any spelling errors and incorrect grammar, which I shall sort out as soon as possible, well enjoy!

Ok, so in this story Megan and Tommy's relationship had been on and off for 6 years whilst Megan was a resident at New York General and Tommy was a rookie in the police force but, once Megan's residency was over and one of Tommy's stupid mistakes slowly ended anything they had left.

So Megan moved back to Philadelphia feeling alone and vulnerable with a secret that she could no longer keep and her only option was to go to the one person she did not want to turn to.

Chapter 25 – A blast from the past

"What the hell? Don't think you can come in here and pretend that nothing happened"

Tommy scratched his head and rested against the door frame "I'm sorry... can I at least come in? We really need to talk I missed you" Tommy smiled sweetly

Megan rolled her eyes "Fine whatever"

Tommy walked past Megan and into her apartment "I know I shouldn't have kissed you but are you alright? I know it's been a long time but I can still tell when something is bothering you"

Megan sighed. "I have just had a bad day, well a bad year and I couldn't see how it could have gotten worse until now" Megan closed the door and Tommy lingered a few steps away for Megan "So what is the real reason you came here Tommy?" Megan folded her arms across her chest

"I heard about your divorce and the accident through Sam and I wanted to come and check on you, make sure you were ok" Tommy walked closer to Megan but she walked past him into the kitchen

"Well you can see I am fine, now you can go" Megan said looking out the window.

"Come on Megs; don't be like that, how long are you going to hold the past against me?"

Megan took a deep breath and sighed, "You broke us Tommy, what we had you destroyed a long time ago, and we will never be like that again, like I said that last time I saw you in New York. I want to forgive you but I want to forget you and here you are again god just because my divorce ended It doesn't mean I am ready to jump into the arms of one of my ex's" her voice started to raise with frustration

"Wow, you know how to crush a guy's heart don't you, look at you all bitter and twisted. The Megan I know wouldn't let anything like that happen to her"

Megan shook her head "I am not the same person I was back then and I don't expect nothing from anyone but hurt and disappointment, and it wasn't like I could stop the divorce happening or stop my children from hating me but you know life likes to throw shit At you" Megan walked over to her couch and sat down with Tommy following.

Tommy reached out and took Megan's hand "I'm sorry... for what I did those years ago Megan and I have learnt from my mistakes and want to make it up to you if you will let me" Megan yanked her hand out of Tommy's

"I can't believe you" Megan chuckled "Just get the hell out Tommy, I don't love you anymore. I can't believe you came here hoping for me to take you back as if nothing happened" Megan let a single tear slip down her cheek and turned her head away from Tommy.

Tommy took one last look at Megan and walked towards the door but stopped turned round "I still love you Megan and I always will. Take care of yourself Megs" Tommy opened the front door and closed it behind him and it was then Megan let the tears fall and sobbed her heart out.

Megan wiped away the tears, picked up her cell and dialled her old house number only to hear it go to voice mail so she left a message "Lacey, Maddie, I'm sorry for today and well everything, I just wanted to say that I heard you today Lace and well I am going to back off. I know I am not good at this but, I so want to be, I will give you and Maddie all the space you need so… well I'll wait to hear from you bye"

Little did Megan know lacey was sitting at the bottom of the stairs as she listened to Megan leave that Message and Lacey smiled knowing that her mother was doing what she wanted and that must mean she cared about them both. Maddie walked through the front door dumping her cheer bag on the floor.

"Lace, is there a reason why you're sitting at the bottom of the stairs?" Maddie frowned in confusion

"Mom just called and left a message and she sounded really sorry Madd, listen" lacey pushed the rewind button and Maddie listened to the message

"whatever, I don't care I mean I don't need her in my life and I wish she would just except that I don't want to be part of her new life because she didn't care about us back then, then why should I care about her and she had her chance and she blew it"

Lacey shook her head "How can you say that? She's our mom Madd" Maddie rolled her eyes and sighed, "Please don't say you have already forgiven her"

Maddie shoved past lacey who was still sitting on the bottom of the stairs and rolled her eyes at her big sister and Maddie stormed up the steps and into her room and slammed the door behind her.

Megan put the phone down and sat there with a smile on her face hoping that Lacey and possibly Maddie would want to contact her when they were ready and that Made Megan happy to be there for them when they needed it. Megan's mind was at rest now, it felt like a weight had been lifted off her, she was excited to wait and hear from the girls at anytime, and this sent her to a deep slumber
