Every chapter done of this brings me closer to the end. I can feel being done with this story. I can hope so much.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
All of his friends, all of his precious platoon mates that he could have protected, were dead, except perhaps Kululu.
The ones who needed his help though, Tamama, Dororo and Giroro were all dead. There was nothing he could have done to help them and they would never speak or move again.
Keroro's tears flowed freely, didn't ever dry up from the sadness. He was alone.
He had Fuyuki, but Fuyuki hadn't been his goal when coming to Pekopon. His goal had been invasion and to keep his platoon safe.
And he had failed. Failed hard.
T-there's nothing here for a failure of a platoon leader...I've failed. I should just join the rest of my platoon mates...Keroro decided, thinking to himself about the crushing loneliness he felt.
He would die. As their leader. He had no right to live without them.
However, he had no right to leave Fuyuki either. Fuyuki had experienced great loss too.
I'll wait until Fuyuki is safe...His mom should be coming back from her trip soon...They'll be safe...Keroro decided, plotting his own death.
That would work out quite well.
Momoka's grip on reality was waning. Fuyuki knew it and Keroro definitely knew it.
The three of them didn't know where they were going, but they knew nothing would take them in. Not after Momoka.
"She killed an innocent civilian. Just walking on the street." Keroro pointed out to Fuyuki as Momoka looked at her bloodied hands, ignoring the civilian on the ground.
"She...She's our friend though! We're not leaving her!" Fuyuki told Keroro, "Never ever!" Momoka ignored both of them, her thoughts only on pure anger.
"She's dangerous...She's infected...Even Dororo killed someone...You don't want Momoka to kill one of us, right?" Keroro pointed out.
Fuyuki frowned.
"We aren't leaving her. Nishizawa wouldn't want us to leave her either, right?" Fuyuki still had hope for his friend and he looked over at the blue haired girl.
The streets were now empty thanks to her. The nameless people walking by hadn't been a threat, but she had seen them as one. Fuyuki tried to ignore all the dead bodies around them. He had gotten quite used to it now.
"A-are you trying to leave me, Fuyuki?" Momoka finally asked, only grasping a bit of the conversation.
"No! I wasn't! We're going to get you help and give a funeral to all these people and-" Fuyuki was cut off as Momoka picked up a lead pipe.
"I won't let that happen. You aren't going to leave me." Momoka told him, "Keroro's been telling you lies...Hasn't he?" She gave a loud and low laugh.
Fuyuki looked at Keroro worriedly as Momoka charged.
"I told you she was dangerous!" Keroro pointed out to him as he pushed Fuyuki out of the way and Momoka swiped at both of them.
Fuyuki shook his head refusing to think that Momoka had lost herself.
"Nishizawa! Please! Shake it off! I'm your friend! Remember me!" He refused to believe Momoka was going to cause him harm.
She punched Fuyuki in the gut.
"Hahhahaha..." She laughed, "Even the Fuyuki illusion will be mine!" She didn't believe anything she saw.
Fuyuki doubled over in pain.
"She's not coming back, Fuyuki. This virus...Doesn't let people come back. We've got to subdue her." Keroro told him.
"But I don't want to hurt Nishizawa!" Fuyuki replied
"We'll just subdue her. Don't worry. If we manage to break her legs she won't be able to move and we'll be safe and she'll be alive..." Keroro told him.
"I refuse to hurt Nishizawa." Fuyuki stayed strong as Momoka pulled him upwards by his hair and punched him again.
I'll do it then...For my last friend. Keroro decided. Looking around he tried to find something that could do the job.
A screwdriver lay on the ground along with a large rock. Keroro didn't smile and charged for both of them.
Letting Momoka beat Fuyuki for a few minutes to distract her, he shoved the screwdriver into the back of her kneecap.
"AHHH!" She screamed in pain. Keroro moved over to the front of her leg and pounded the rock into her knee, both of them, while she bled.
Momoka screamed in mangled cries.
"She's in pain, sarge! Stop!" Fuyuki begged.
"That's the point...Maybe the blood loss will snap her back...For even a moment..." Keroro hoped. Momoka crumpled onto the ground, her legs completely battered and shattered.
Her screams begin dying out and instead she looked up, unable to support even her own weight.
"I...I can hear a bit clearer...And see a bit clearer..." She mumbled, her voice quiet and scared.
"You...Were right!" Fuyuki was happy just to have his friend back. Even for a moment.
"F-fuyuki?" Momoka looked at Fuyuki, seeing his bruises, "I...I did that...Didn't I?" Fuyuki reluctantly nodded, "I...I hurt you..." Tears went down her face, "I'm sorry..."
"It's all right...At least you're back with us now." Fuyuki comforted
"No...I'm not...That virus will come back to me soon...I'll see everything as cold anger and a threat to Fuyuki...Even yourself...I'll want you all to myself no matter what...Even if it means hurting you..." Momoka admitted, "I...I don't want to be in its control anymore...Please...It was awful..."
Fuyuki's mouth hung open for a second, trying not to jump to conclusions of what her request meant.
"I'm already all your's...Nishi-Momoka..." He tried to give her empty promises, hoping that would soothe her and keep her alive. He didn't want to lose anymore friends.
"No...No you aren't...I'm not going to survive this...I'm going to hurt more...I've killed people now...You have to kill me, just like everybody else who was infected, so that I don't hurt you." Momoka ordered
"No..." Fuyuki shook his head, tears now down his face.
"Please, Fuyuki...For me...It's my last request of you." She begged wanting him to be safe.
Fuyuki tried not to cry in hysterics, cutting off his breathing in a bubbling fashion. Instead he nodded, realizing there was nothing he could do.
Taking the lead pipe she dropped he leaned down, just moving on his own and hoping to give her a kiss before it was done, having the small sliver of hope that it would somehow convince her to live.
"Fuyuki..." Momoka's arms shot upwards and she shook her head. "Don't kiss me...All I've wanted in my life is for you to kiss me, but don't now..." Momoka told him
"Why?" Fuyuki asked. Momoka gave a sad smile
"Because the virus is still coursing through my veins and if you leaned down successfully to kiss me, I'd strangle you...My hands are already trying to reach for your neck and there's nothing I can do..." She gave a sad smile.
Fuyuki cried for her as he beat her head in with the lead pipe.
"I..." Every hit Momoka said a different word, "Love..." Fuyuki knew her strength was waning. He wanted to vomit from all the blood coming from Momoka, "You." She was dead.
Fuyuki dropped the lead pipe and cried. He had lost another friend and this time at his hands.
The possible love of his life was now gone.
"I'm going to die. I'm going to disappear. That is when Fuyuki is safe with Lady Mom." Pururu read from Keroro's journal. She frowned, hoping that Keroro would be fine. "My platoon mates...All except Kululu who I have no idea what he's up to...Are dead...It's all my fault. I'm a horrible commander...I deserve to die...And I will die." Pururu paused getting to the next paragraph, "Momoka's become dangerous, she's infected and killing people...She attacked Fuyuki and me...Fuyuki put her down...Now he's as alone as I am."
"Another one is gone..." Zoruru realized, "There's a few more left that are unaccounted for, hopefully that Keroro explains what happened to them."
Pururu flipped to the last page that was written in the journal.
Three chapters left, I'm pretty sure.
