"Tell me about it." Mandy sat in the passenger seat and closed the door. Her head fell back onto the headrest. "I should have given you a heavier warning Frank. I really am sorry."
He started the truck but didn't respond. Mandy lifted her head, nervously adjusting her hat. "Frank?"
He sighed and continued driving. "Yes?" Frank replied, irritated.
Mandy held her breath, scared that she even spoke up. "Nothing."
He suddenly stopped the truck on the side of the road and turned to her. Mandy widened her eyes and hopped into the back seat, trying to hide. Frank unlocked the car doors and opened the door behind him. Mandy shivered and tried to return to the front of the car but Frank pinned her wrists against the seat. She panted and looked up once he blocked her from moving.
"The next time that I am insulted by anyone you introduce me to, I am going to.."
A black car drove by the truck, causing Mandy to sit up and look out the back window.
"Mandy! Listen to me when I am talking to you." Frank glared at her.
She sat back in the passenger seat with a smile. "I'm not done talking to you Mandy." "Listen. Hear me out. Follow that car. I have an idea." "What on earth are you talking about? This is not the time for.." "That was Brad's car Frank. How about a little fun?"
He sighed and restarted the truck. "You've won this round." Frank followed behind the small convertible and with his right hand, he knocked off Mandy's hat. "Hey! Not cool." She picked it up off of the floor and put it back on.
"Correct. It was not cool. It was hot." Frank grinned.
"I hate you." She folded her arms. "I hate you too." He watched the car park in a lot and Brad stepped out of his vehicle. He stepped inside a fast food diner with a straight face.
Mandy devilishly smiled and unbuckled her seat belt. "Wait just a moment." Frank held her back with his right hand on her chest. "I must give you some instructions."
"Like what?" Mandy unsurely asked. "You're scaring me a little." "Oh. I'm sorry. Just a little back story baby. Nothing more." "Wait a minute. So I'm not in trouble?" She tilted her head. "Oh you are." He put an arm around her. "When we return to the castle."
"Not funny." She glared at him. "Fine. What happened?" "Brad and Janet have been to my castle before, as you know. So what I need you to do is to greet Brad the same way that I greeted Janet." "Oh? How was that?" "Simply take his hand and softly kiss it. Then greet him by saying "Enchanté". Stress him out." He smirked.
"I like!" "Good." Frank gave a short "Ha!" and opened her door, watching her redo her hair in the bobby pin. Frank frowned for a moment as he noticed a little smudge on her hat and wiped it off.
"Much to discuss." She laughed. "Oh indeed." He took her hand in his as they entered through the door. "Now don't be too full of yourself Mandy. We are in a public place." She huffed. "Are you my boyfriend or my father?" He rolled his eyes.
Four customers rose their heads and scoffed. Mandy simply blinked. 'Judgmental assholes.'
Frank smirked and calmly approached the table where Brad was sitting by himself. "Dining alone this evening Brad?"
Brad nearly choked on his club sandwich then looked up. His eyes immediately turned to Mandy. "Y..you're alive Mandy!" "That is correct Bradley." As told, the girl took his right hand and kissed his knuckle. "Enchanté."
He scowled and looked at Frank. "What have you done with her?" "Nothing. Why? Do you think I should?" Frank sat in the booth across from him. Mandy sat beside Frank and sighed.
"I suggest that you go Frank. Janet and Rocky will be arriving shortly."
Mandy gulped, looking at him.
The transvestite blinked. "Well then why would I leave Brad? I'm sure you're quite lonely here by yourself." "I am most certainly not lonely." "Are you sure about that Brad?" Mandy slid in the chair next to him. "Perhaps something with a little more..excitement?" She smirked and set a hand on Brad's chest.
Brad scowled and was about to call over a waitress when Janet and Rocky entered through the door. Mandy sat back next to Frank with an innocent smile. "That's not what I meant." He whispered in her ear. "Language only. No suggestive movements." "Oh okay. Sorry." "It's alright baby." They softly kissed.
Brad looked up and shook his head, dismissing the fact that he was indeed jealous. Janet led Rocky into the diner and guided him towards Brad's table. Frank glanced over to her and she shrieked, nearly fainting. Rocky roughly helped her up. Frank whispered something to Mandy and she quietly cleared her throat. "Enchanté Miss Weiss."
Janet covered her mouth, noticing that the girl's clothes were reversed like Frank's. She fixed her light blue dress and pressed Rocky's grey suit. "Oh no."
Mandy blinked.
"Frank! What have you done to her?" "What? Nothing. Why? Do you think I should?" He smirked. "Ugh!" She sat across from Mandy and Rocky absentmindedly looked at Mandy. The girl lightly smiled and he lightly chuckled back, sitting next to her.
"Rocky!" Janet motioned him to sit next to her but he was too busy touching Mandy's hat. She sulked and opened her pink purse. "What a fortunate coincidence." Frank looked directly at Janet. "Stop looking at me like that." Mandy looked at her the same way.
"Something troubling you this evening Miss Weiss?" Mandy took off her hat and adjusted the back of it so that it would fit Rocky's head. Rocky smiled and put it on. "That looks ridiculous on you Rocky. Please take that off." Janet shook her head. "What about me?" Mandy smirked. "Do you like it on me?"
"Well.." Janet blushed. "..um.." "I will take that as a yes!" She took her hat back from Rocky and made it so it fit her again.
"Can we just order please?" She pressed her lips as a waiter walked over. "Certainly Miss Weiss." Mandy cleared her throat. Janet closed her eyes, trying to keep her composure. Rocky looked up as he overheard Janet order him a well done steak.
Frank was unsure with the menu but Mandy ordered the more healthy option of a grilled cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread. She insisted two of them with a side order of fries. Frank turned his head and noticed a young couple start to leave. He motioned Mandy to follow him to the empty table.
"I have no idea what was on your mind but what you said to Janet was so entertaining to watch." He smiled. "What did you order me by the way?"
"Oh. A regular favorite of mine. A sandwich with melted cheese. And french fries, but you don't need to eat those if you don't want too." Mandy looked at him and held out a hand. "What are you doing?" "I was going to hold your hand." She lightly smiled. "Oh." He placed his right hand in hers. "I'm normally this unsure in public. I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I usually am too. But today is a rather special occasion."
Frank smiled.
"There we go." Mandy went to check her phone. There was a missed call from her mom and she ignored it. "Something wrong baby?" "Nah. My mom just wants to raise hell to put it lightly."
The waiter brought over their plates, not questioning their appearances.
"Oh." He picked up half of the sandwich. "But you did absolutely nothing wrong." She heavily assured him. Frank looked down at his meal and took a small bite. "How do you like it?" He wiped his mouth with a napkin. "Well it's certainly better than what is available at the castle. It fact, far better. Thank you baby."
"No problem." They both hummed and softly kissed. "I can actually make these for you if you like them so much." "Really?" "Yeah. Not difficult to make at all." She took a bite of hers.
He picked up a french fry and put it in his mouth. "Of course I may have to go shopping at some point." Frank re-adjusted his top. "I might need a larger shirt." He whispered. "They usually add a lot of butter to each slice of bread. But I actually know portion control. I'll solve that." She whispered back.
He smiled. "You always know what to say. Oh. Is it possible to bring this with us?" "Well not the dish, but the food yes." Mandy waited until the waiter came back and asked for two to-go boxes.
"In the comfort of my bedroom." "Yeah. I'm tired." "Aw. Alright." Frank took his wallet and unsurely stopped. "In this diner, you just leave the money on the table." "Ah."
He picked up both of their full boxes and opened the door for her. Mandy smiled and followed him to the truck. "Thanks." "You're welcome baby." He started the truck and Mandy opened her box to hand him a fry. Frank smirked and took it with his teeth.
He opened his right arm and she lay on his shoulder. "I love you baby." He kissed the top of her head. "You really do?" "Cross my heart and hope to die." He hummed.
