Emma had been away on duke of Edinburgh with her school and she had just woken up. It was her bronze which meant they had walked yesterday then camped the night before having to walk again this morning. Jonny was scheduled to pick them up at about 3.
Emma was in a really bad mood as she had barely had any sleep.
"Can we just hurry up and leave" Emma moaned.
"We have to wait because Rachel still doesn't feel well" One of the girls said. Emma rolled her eyes, she didn't even what Rachel in her walking group and now this girl was holding them up. Casey came walking over.
"I think Rachel is going home" Casey said.
"Why?" Emma asked.
"Don't tell anyone but she said to me that she has diarrhoea" Casey said and Emma snorted.
"Oh Emma, it's a shame" Casey said and Emma rolled her eyes again.
"Well, at least she wouldn't hold us back today" Emma said.
"God, Emma you can be so mean sometimes" Hayley said. Emma just ignored her.
"Can we just leave now" Emma shouted as she made sure the tent was securely in her rucksack. The other girls just nodded knowing not to annoy Emma even more. She certainly had her mother's fierceness.
They got started and Emma stormed ahead. She just wanted to get home. They started off on the road and it wasn't long until they got to the hill.
"Emma you need to stay closer to us. We have to walk as a group." Casey said.
"Well, can't you walk a bit faster so we can get home quickly" Emma said.
"Okay, we'll go a bit faster but you have to compromise and walk a bit slower. If you walk with one of us it means we all walk at similar speeds" Casey said and Emma sighed but agreed. She ended up walking with Molly. Emma wasn't actually very good friends with Molly but she was definitely getting to know her better during the walk and realised that they could actually be really good friends.
They all eventually managed to climb the hill, they found it quiet difficult as it was a very hard hill and many of them hadn't done a lot of walking. They then walked along some edges until they saw two paths.
"Right, which way is it?" Molly asked.
"I think it's this way" Hayley said.
"No, it's definitely this way" Emma said. She was adamant and was not backing down. A teacher came up behind them.
"What is the problem here" He asked.
"I know that it is this way" Emma said.
"No, it's this way" Hayley said.
"No, if you look at the map, that track goes up the way while your track is going straight" Emma said. The teacher nodded. Emma smiled knowing she was correct as usual. They got off and soon decided to stop for something to eat. They had their lunch and then some girls went to the toilet.
"I'm not going to the toilet until I get home. I went last night and this morning and I'm not going again" Emma said.
"Same, I hate peeing in between the trees" Molly said and the girls started laughing. Then Casey came running back.
"Oh my god, that was so embarrassing. I was peeing and then I turned around and noticed Mr Wilson like behind me behind a tree and he was peeing I don't think he noticed me but I saw things you shouldn't see of your teacher" Casey said and they all started laughing.
"Are you sure he didn't see anything?" Emma asked.
"OMG, I really hope he didn't" Casey said going bright red.
Emma laughed. They carried on walking and was so happy when her dad's car came into sight. She was so happy.
Once they got to the car park, one of the teachers helped Emma get her rucksack off.
"Oh girls you stink" Jonny said and Emma rolled her eyes.
"Just drive, I'm so tired" Emma complained. She got in the car and Hayley, Casey and Hannah climbed into the back. They drove the 1 and an half hour before they dropped the other girls off. Jonny helped them all get their rucksacks out of the car.
"Do you want to go to mine or go see mum" Jonny asked.
"I want mum" Emma said and Jonny raised his eye brow. He couldn't believe she said that usually she would just want to get cleaned up and sleep. Jonny drove to the hospital. Emma jumped out and ran to her mum's office. She knocked at the door.
"Come in" Jac shouted and Emma opened the door.
"Hey" Jac said expecting Emma to go and sit on the sofa. Instead the girl walked over to her mum and perched on her knee hugging her mum.
"What, oh this is nice" Jac said as she hugged Emma back. Emma was know the same height as Jac if not a bit taller and it wasn't very often the girl would hug her mum.
"Mum, it was so bad" Emma said.
"Well, you certainly stink" Jac said.
"I don't care, I'm tired and sore. I barely slept last night" Emma said.
"Oh baby" Jac said stroking her daughter's tangled hair.
"Oh guess what?" Emma said and Jac looked at her.
"One of the girls got diarrhoea and had to go home, wouldn't be surprised if she had crapped herself" Emma said.
"Emma, that's mean" Jac said but still unable to stop laughing.
"Well she was so annoying" Emma said.
"Still" Jac said. "Right go and have a shower and put on a pair of scrubs"
Emma nodded and gave her mum once less hug before going out the office. Elliot came walking in.
"Did I just see little miss Emma sitting on her mum's knee" Elliot said and Jac nodded.
"It's only because she is tired and sore" Jac said, "It's not a regular occurrence"
Emma quickly had a shower before putting on a pair of scrubs. She walked back to her mum's office and noticed Elliot there.
"Mum can you check my back for ticks" Emma asked and Jac nodded. She lifted up the back of the top and checked for ticks.
"You seem free to me" Jac said. "I'll check tomorrow as well"
Emma nodded before lying on her mum's sofa and going to sleep.
Hope this is okay, think I'll make a rebellious Emma in the next chapter. Please review :)
