Chapter 25

Rain continued to heavily fall with strong as strong winds blew. Lindow tried to light a cigarette by gave up when the wind blew it out his his mouth. "A god huh? Not a smart career option when you're faced with a dozen Gods Eaters."

"You will all die." The venus grew missile pods out of it's back and fired.

The bladed Gods Eaters used their shields to protect the gun users. Damien held his has together and created an orb of dark energy. Shun, Brandon dashed to the left side to attack, The venus' body grew a ghoro-ghoro head which spat out water at the Gods Eaters.

Soma attacked from behind, the venus raised its tail to reveal an orange bubble. Soma remember the last time he fought a venus and deployed his shield, a borg camlann tail burst out of the bubble and whipped Soma away.

The gunners fired at Damien but each shot was caught by the dark energy and strengthened it. Damien held up his hands.

"Judgement!" A ray of light descended on the venus, burning the aragami in light and destroying the dark energy.

Lance impaled his arcs into the bubble under the venus' tail. A ghoro-ghoro came out to bite but Lance leaped onto the venus' back. Lance snapped his arcs to together and spun them from his left to his right. Missile pods sprung up on the venus' back and Lance sliced them a part.

Damien looked back and Lance put his hand on Damien's face, slamming the traitor into the mud. Lance landed on the ground and backed away to his comrades.

Damien raised his upper body, wiping the mud from his face. "Krato!"

"You got a problem with me?" The duel wielder held his left fist in the air.

Lindow put his fist in the air as well. "Then you have a problem with me."

"Me too!" Kota put up his fist.

"And me." Soma held up his fist.

Kanon held up her fist, then Tatsumi, then Gina, then all the Gods Eater.

"We are the Gods Eaters." Started Lance. "We are the shield of humanity, all who stand in our way will fall. Gods, monsters, even the dark side of humanity. We won't fail, we won't quit. You start a fight with one of us, you start a war with all of us. And you'll lose, you'll lose hard."

"Shut up and die!" Damien screamed to the heavens, entering an enraged state.

Lance separated his arc and held his left god arc in the air. "Gods Eaters, UNITE!" Lance pointed his right god arc at Damien. "AND FIGHT!" The the Gods Eaters cheered and charged at the venus.

Lance took the lead with his burst mode, gunning for Damien. The venus grew large tusks and blocked the attack. Federico went for the left front leg and Lindow went for the right, Both slashing at the legs until the venus kicked forward.

The longsword uses were knocked a side and Soma and Brandon took over, both charging their arcs and crushing the wounded front legs.

The venus' tusks charged with electricity and blasted Lance back. Lance landed on his feet and slid back eight feet, he kneeled down and Annette planted her foot on Lance back the launched herself at Damien. Damien used his tusks again but they were stopped by Shun and Tatsumi's shields. Annette stroke her hammer down on Damien, crushing into the ground.

Gina and Karel circled to the left side of the venus and fired and the orange bubble, the bubble broke open and a ghoro-ghoro came out, spitting water.

Gina dodged the attack and Shun protected Karel. After the ghoro head returned into the venus Lindow thrusted his arc into the bubble and fired.

Kota and Kanon dashed to the right and fired at the venus side. Tatsumi ran to attack the venus when brog tail grow out of bubble. It swung to strike but Federico blocked it and Tatsumi cut off the tail. The gunners reloaded, Federico and Tatsumi got out of the way to let them fire.

Damien used his tusks to counter each of Lance's attacks till he leaped back, Soma brought down his god arc on the tusks and destroyed one, Brandon fallowed and destroyed the other. Damien took a few steps back and unleashed a large pool of pale goo underneath and lit the goo with a shock wave of dark energy to get the Gods Eaters away from him.

"Too our left." Damien spun in the direction and found Alisa and Sakuya. "Why aren't they fighting? Kill them before they do something." Damien created more dark energy in his hands and charged for the two women.

"NO!" Lance and Lindow shouted. The two rushed to stop Damien, Lance used his burst link to speed up and get a head of the venus.

Lance held up his shields and blocked Damien, Lance was being pushed back and he felt the dark energy burning his arms. Lance closed his eyes for a moment, remembering the last time he fought a venus. "I won't fail... I won't fail! I refuse, I refuse, I REFUSE!"

"You're not alone, Lance. You never are." Lance opened his eye, now glowing with a bright blue and brought the venus' charged to a complete halt.

"Wha, how?!" Damien felt his arms being pushed back, then his venus body.

"I, won't, DIE!" Lance gave one more shove and pushed the venus, standing it up on its hind legs. Lindow jumped slashed at the venus' underbelly. making an open wound.

Soma slammed his god arc into the venus' stomach, fallowed by Brandon then Annette. Each buster user hit the wound and pushed the venus on it back.

Everyone rushed the venus but stopped when it let out more goo and shocked it. Unfortunately the goo also got into the venus' wound and felt the brunt of the attack.

"Lindow, let's go." Lance lead the charge, he ran to the front of the beast, where Damien was. Damien opened his eyes from the self induced shock and saw Lance's gos arc blade coming down on him.

Lance cut at Damien's mid section, separating him the venus and exposing the core. Lindow wasted no time and devoured the core with his arc.

Lance snapped his arcs together and gave them to his tail. Lance picked up Damien and carried him away from the venus body. "Medic!" Lance used three restore balls, trying to save Damien. "Damien, Damien look at me." The boy coughed up blood as he looked at Lance with half opened eyes. "Come on, don't die."

Damiens eyes slowly drifted close.

Lance laid the boy down, letting the rain wash away the blood. He turned and walked away. A few steppes away Lance stopped, sensing dark energy. Lance spun around and saw a shadowy human figure standing over Damien.

Shade held his hand over Damien. "Are you ready to die? Or are you willing to spent the last of you're life and give me you body."

"Don't do it! Damien no!"

"Give me you life and I'll kill Krato for you."

Lance swung his right god arc at Shade. "Leave him alone, Damien's suffered enough!"

Shade held out his hand at lance and blasted him away. "Speak my name and you're pain will end. You're life will end, no more fighting, no more pain. an eternal feeling of nothing, just like what you want."

"Sh-sha... Shade..."

"That's not my true name. Look inside yourself, you know." A medical team ran towards Damien but Shade blasted them away.

"Nya.."

"No! Don't do it!" Lance shouted.

"Rla..."

"Yes, yes!"

"Tho..."

Lance ran towards Damien. "NO!"

"Tep..."
