Area-C(3): Giro's Residence

Aile hummed to herself as she sat in a chair at the edge of the room. The girl was dressed in a Pumpkin Witch costume. She scanned the crowd for Prairie, and quickly spotted her despite the fact that she was in full costume. The girl was busy talking to Omega while the other partiers danced around them.

The two had stopped by the party to deliver something Mère had for Giro. She had stopped them while Prairie was taking her out trick-or-treating. Lowering her gaze to her pumpkin bucket Aile smiled at the amount of candy. It was small, but Prairie had helped her, and it made it instantly special to her.

She began reaching into the bucket as Prairie plopped down in the seat next to her. The girl let out an aggravated sigh as Aile began unwrapping a candy bar.

"Sorry Aile, but Giro stepped out and Ohms said he wouldn't be back until 12."

Aile paused in her consumption of the candy to look at Prairie. A look briefly flashed in the girl's eyes, one that Prairie was all too familiar with. Before her girlfriend could say a thing, Prairie put a finger to the girl's lips.

"I know that. Mère wants you home before that, but she also needed me to deliver this. My hands are tied Aile."

Quickly shaking her head Aile gently removed Prairie's hand and gave the girl a sad look.

"What about your candy? We haven't gotten it yet..."

"Aile I'm fine. As long as you got some I'll be okay."

Aile then let go of Prairie's hand and turned to look at her bucket. Her face scrunched up in concentration, the look almost making Prairie want to laugh. Instead of tormenting the girl however, Prairie just sat back and looked out into the crowd of people.

There were several moments of silence that passed between the two, Prairie busying herself with the crowd's movements, and Aile was still thinking. The costumed girl looked up from her bucket and looked to the clock, it's face read 10:45 in bright red numbers. Her grip on her bucket's handle tightened as she nodded. Confusion quickly turned to resolve as she turned to Prairie.

Without a word Aile upturned her bucket onto Prairie's lap, the other girl jumped as candy went everywhere. Prairie quickly turned to look at Aile, who was giving her a warm smile.

"Aile? Why did you do that?"

"Now you have candy."

"Aile, I told you that I don't need candy. Besides, this is yours, and I wouldn't want to take it from you."

Prairie made a move for Aile's bucket, attempting to return the candy, but Aile pulled it away.

"No, you need candy!"

"Aile, I-"

"No!"

Prairie groaned at the girl's antics, looking to the pile of sweets she sighed. Once Aile wanted to do something she never faltered. Deciding not to argue with Aile, Prairie instead picked up a caramel square and popped it into her mouth. Aile's smile grew wider as she laughed.

"See, now you can eat candy."

Minutes passed and Prairie still waited for Giro to return. She had spent her time sorting Aile's candy and munching on the items she knew Aile wouldn't like. As she swallowed another of the caramel squares she shifted her gaze to Aile. The girl had resumed her humming as she waited as well, yet Prairie could tell something was off.

She noticed that even though the girl was smiling, she kept giving quick looks to her pumpkin. Aile hadn't stopped smiling, but Prairie knew what the girl was thinking. Despite the fact she wanted to do something nice for her, Aile still wanted the candy. Yet, she would never take it back in fear that she would be hurting Prairie's feelings.

Looking back down to the pile Prairie noted several items that she didn't want. And she didn't want Aile's candy to go to waste. A smile slid across Prairie's face as a thought came to her. She turned to the girl and hoped her face wouldn't give her away.

"Hey Aile, what do you do when you go to someone's door on Halloween?"

"Oh! I knock, and when they open the door I show them my pumpkin, and say 'trick-or-treat'!"

"Could you demonstrate it for me?"

Aile turned to Prairie and gave an excited nod, she quickly lifted her pumpkin into the air and smiled.

"Trick-or-Treat!"

As quickly as Aile finished her sentence, Prairie dropped a candy bar into Aile's bucket. Aile's eyes widened and she quickly turned to Prairie with worry.

"Prairie, no. That's your-"

"Aile, it is our candy. Now, what do you say?"

Prairie chuckled as Aile's expression again became one of excitement, she held out her pumpkin and giggled.

"Trick-or-Treat!"

This continued until Aile's pumpkin rattled once more with candy. The two girls giggled as they talked, each enjoying their little game. After several minutes Aile leaned towards Prairie with a small mischievous smile.

"Prairie, trick, or treat?"

Prairie smiled as she two leaned forward, waiting until her face was mere centimeters away from Aile's before responding.

"Treat."

The two then closed the distance and their lips met. The two stayed like this, enjoying the warmth they felt from the other. They slowly seperated, but stayed close, Aile giggled as she began whispering.

"Can I have another?"

"Silly girl, you didn't say treat, but I'll give in just this once."

Once again their lips connected and the two fell into the bliss that was their 'treat'.
