Chapter 25: A Sleepy Viper
"What is the most obvious place to go to in a hotel when you have to look for your professional wrestler boyfriend after not seeing him for most of the whole day . . ." I mutter to myself as I walk into a large room filled with exercise equipment. ". . . The hotel gym, duh . . ."
"Hey Mara!"
"Hi John!" I call back as I look up to see the Cenation leader walk over to me, dripping with so much sweat that it looked like someone doused him with a bucket of it. "I see you've been busy."
"You can say that again . . . Nothing like an afternoon two hour workout to really put back a spring in your step . . ." he tells me with a cheeky grin as he crosses his arms. "Although, the body odor that results from said two hour workout is something that I can seriously do without."
"You're telling me . . ." I mumble with a scowl as I try to fan John's horrible stench away from my precious nose. "Anyway, have you seen Randy anywhere?"
"Oh yeah, I've seen him . . ." he tells me as he points toward a certain set of machines at the far end of the room. "You see those leg press machines over there. He's sitting in the one that's closest to the wall."
"How long has he been sitting there?" I ask him curiously as I continue to stare at the back of his unmoving head.
"A long time actually . . ." John tells me with a small grin on his face. He's been sleeping there for practically the entire time he's been in this room."
"Really now . . ." I say with an eyebrow raised. "At what time did he actually get here to exercise in the first place?"
"I think around nine this morning . . ." John tells me as he does a shrug. "What time is it now?"
"It's almost four in the afternoon . . ." I tell him as I quickly look at my watch. "Randy has seriously been sleeping there all this time?"
"Yep . . . He's been sleeping there for the past seven hours now, and he's probably going to continue to sleep there until someone wakes him up," John tells me with a sad shake of his head. "I know Randy tends to take naps a lot, but this is ridiculous, even for him."
"I know . . . Don't worry. I'll wake him up . . ." I tell him with a shake of my head. "As for you, you should really get to a shower. You are one stinky wrestler right now my friend."
"True that . . ." John tells me with a shake of his head as he makes his way to through the exit. "I'll see you later Mara."
"Bye!" I call after him as I watch him leave. Once John was finally out of my sight, I turn around and set my sights on Randy, who still didn't move after all this time. I quietly make my way over to him, and once I get there, a smirk just spread across the right side of my face as eye the Viper. Here Randy is, sleeping while sitting at the leg press machine. His legs weren't even positioned in the thing to show that he was planning to exercise. He was sitting in it like it was a simple chair. "Randy?"
He doesn't budge.
"Randy?" I whisper in his ear as I gently nudge him in the shoulder, but he still doesn't wake up. So, I go with a different tactic. I grab hold of his left wrist and begin pulling him out of the leg press in the hope of getting him to wake up during the ordeal. Somehow, I manage to pull him out of the machine, but he still doesn't wake up. This man must really want his sleep.
"Damn, why'd you have to be so difficult," I mumble to myself as I look at Randy's sleeping form on the ground. "I guess you leave me no choice. I'm going to have to wake you up, the hard way."
And by hard way, I mean hitting him in his balls in order to wake him up hard way. I roll him over so that he was sleeping on his side before standing by his crotch. Taking a quick look of my surroundings to see that no one was looking over in my direction, I quickly use my foot to jab him in the balls. As soon as I hear Randy let out a sharp groan as soon as my foot made contact with his crotch, I knew it did the trick.
"If the person in front of me is the one responsible for kicking me in the balls, you better run now because when I finally recover from the surprise hit you dealt me, I am going to run after you, and I'm going to hurt you," grumbles the Viper as he slowly opens his eyes and looks up at me. "Oh, it was you that did this to me Mara. . . Why am I not surprised?"
"Hey, if you have anyone to blame here, blame yourself," I say with a smirk as I crouch down to his level. "You're the one that's been sleeping here at the leg press machine since nine in the morning."
"I have . . . ?" he says it like a question as he slowly sits up. "What time is it now?"
"It's 4:02 in the afternoon Randy . . ." I say with a smirk as I check my watch. "You've been sleeping here in the gym for practically the whole day. Care to tell me why?"
"I'm rooming with Mark Henry while we're staying at this hotel babe," he tells me as he shakes his head. "And we both know how prolific a snorer the World's Strongest Man is."
"Oh, you got that right . . ." I say with a shake of my head. "Why don't you ask the hotel manager to give you another room to stay in then?"
"We're only staying here a couple of days Mara. I'm not even going to bother with it," Randy tells me as he waves my suggestion off. "Got any other ideas?"
"Well . . . Why don't you room with me?" I say as I feel a sudden blush come across my face. "I have my suite all to myself and it has two bedrooms . . . Well, if you want."
"Really . . . You'll let me room with you?" Randy asks me with an eyebrow raised, not really believing in what I'm proposing.
"Yeah . . . really," I tell him with a strong nod of my head. "We already travel together on the same tour bus. It shouldn't make much difference if you ask me.
"Well . . . okay then," Randy tells me with a shake of his head. "I'll have my stuff at your door within an hour. Uh . . . where is you suite anyway?"
"Seventh floor . . . It's the very last door on the east side," I tell him with a smirk as I stand up to my full height. "So, I'll see you in an hour?"
"Of course . . ." Randy tells me as he slowly gets up from the ground. I shoot him a small smile before turning around to head out the gym, but his hand on my shoulder prevents me from moving one step further. "Mara, if you don't mind. Would you like to come with me to get a bite to eat after I move in to your room later?"
"Sure . . ." I say with a chuckle. "I'd love that . . . See ya Randy, and don't you dare come late because you fell asleep again."
"I'll try not to. You'll probably kick me in the nuts again." I hear Randy mumble the last part to himself, which makes me let out another chuckle as I walk out of the room.
