Neji x Kagome

After her display of strength, Neji had sought her out the next day. And within a week, they were dating. It didn't take long for them to become serious, their relationship steadily growing stronger and stronger. Neji's nimble fingers brushed against the small bump protruding from Kagome's normally flat stomach. A baby; their baby.

"Mommy," a five year old called the attention of her embracing parents.

Kagome looked down with a soft smile.

"What is it Shiori?" She was just too cute.

"I want to be a nun," she said. Kagome frowned while Shirori's father, Neji questioned why.

"So I won't get my heart broken by a boy. Shiori only loves papa!" She looked up at them in innocently glistening eyes.

Kagome stifled her laugh while Neji took his turn to frown. Kids say the darnest things. It was later that day that Neji and Kagome were called to the Hokage's office along with the Hyuuga elders. A man—a demon with high ranking demanded Kagome returned home at once, to the palace of the moon. Seeing the demon enter the office, Kagome pouted as she saw it was Sesshomaru who demanded such request. Kagome frowned, feeling Neji's arm tighten around her waist while she laid a comforting hand over his.

"I will do no such things. Neji is a Konoha ninja, therefore my loyalties lie where his. My entire being belongs to Neji Hyuuga, my loyalty is to Neji and him alone." Kagome said with defiance, jutting her chin out.

Sesshomaru smiled. His imouto had grown and found himself a suitable mate. He understood she'd always stand by his side and there was no way to change her mind.

"Hn. Do visit, you have a family who misses you." Was all Sesshomaru said before taking his leave.

Kagome felt a pang of pain in her chest. While completely happy, she almost forgot about her family back home but she knew Sesshomaru did not hold it against her. His words alone told her that he approved of her mate and that he wanted them visit sometimes. That was acceptable.

Neji watched with hard steeled eyes as a man with natural born intimidation demanded his wife be brought home. Who was he and why was he trying to steal away his happiness? His stiff posture relaxed when he heard the words escape from Kagome's mouth. She'd always stay by his side and it made his heart leap.

Loyalty.

She would always be his.

It took a few minutes to realize what the man—no demon, said before leaving the office. Family? This male was one of Kagome's family? Looking down at her smiling face, he smirked when Kagome gave him a sheepish smile before mouthing the words 'later.' Yes, he'd get answers later. All that mattered to him were Kagome, his daughter Shiori and his unborn baby.
