A/N: It isn't the longest chapter, but I really wanted to post this one! It might get really confusing, but it was so much fun to write! Don't ask why! Enjoy!

Char hadn't been talking recently. She had been listening as Sutton went on about what Char had, thankfully, missed after her departure. At least listening was something Char had improved on since she met Sutton.

Sutton had been silent, for a while, too. Her story ended on the news that Emma was at the hospital under Sutton's name. At no time during the story did she hesitate to tell Char something. She had missed her and was prepared to tell her anything as an apology.

"I can't believe you never told me," Char murmured.

"I'm sorry."

"You're sorry?" She gaped.

"Yes! Char, I'm sorry. You could've helped, I know that. Hell, you did help, and you didn't even know it," Sutton rushed, annoyed.

"You're mad at me? You never tell me anything, and you're mad at me?"

"Char! I get that you're mad, and I really am sorry, but I have been through so much. I told you this because it sucks. I just really need a friend right now," Sutton tried to stop herself from yelling.

"I could've been a friend earlier! If you had just told me-"

"That's the thing. You're supposed to be my friend. You and Mads. So maybe I haven't always been the best friend to you and her, but I tried! When I was Emma in Las Vegas, her friend knew right away. You guys had no idea," Sutton finished.

"That's because we don't know you! You won't talk to us anymore! You-" Char sighed. She took a fry from the tray in between them.

"Oh, okay. Keep eating. God knows it's what you do best," Sutton sneered.

Char looked her in the eye. She scoffed, grabbed her bag, and left.

Mads was in a cab, her newest attempt at leaving, when her phone rang.

"Hello?" She asked, keeping her voice as calm as possible.

"Mads? Hey," Emma said quickly, her voice scratchy on the other line, like she had been crying.

"Emma? What's wrong?"

"Um, nothing. Can you meet me?" She sniffled quietly to herself, but Mads heard it.

"Okay, what happened in the last hour since I saw you?" Mads questioned, begging for an answer.

"I... Where are you going?"

Mads sighed. "Will you tell me what happened?"

"I can't tell you now, Mads, but I need to talk to you. Where are you going?" Emma stalled.

"How do you know I'm going somewhere?" countered Mads.

"I can hear the engine. Mads?"

"You promise to tell me?"

"I... Yes. I need someone to talk to anyways," Emma wiped her eyes with her sleeve.

"I'm going to Los Angeles."

"What?" Emma asked, her voice close to normal. "In a cab?"

"No, I'm going to the airport. Jordan was sent to a jail in Los Angeles, remember? I need to find him."

Emma paused. "Can I come with you?"

"Emma, what happened?"

"Please? I... I need something to do."

"You've had too much to do in the past few months!" Mads was getting louder, more confused than ever.

"Can I?"

"Emma..." Mads sighed.

"I need to talk to you."

"Where are you?"

"Ted." Kristen's voice was ice cold. "Ted."

"Yeah?" He asked, running into her room from the kitchen.

"What happened at the benefit." Kristen's voice was monotone; Ted couldn't even tell if she expected an answer.

"I know you, Ted. You're not telling me something."

"How would you know?" Ted asked cautiously.

Kristen tilted her head and scoffed. "Because you're acting the same way you've been acting since we got Sutton. And I know it's not because you're nervous about being a dad." Kristen was looking straight ahead, but Ted knew she wasn't really seeing him.

"Well, it wasn't really a benefit."

"How dare you. How dare you talk to me like that. Like I'm lower than you." Kristen was crying, but her face was blank.

"Kristen-"

"Why are you still in my house?"

"Because I'm your doctor. Because you didn't want to stay at the hospital."

Kristen's ice cold blue eyes were hidden in an instant as she buried her face in her hands and sobbed.

"Kristen, I'm sorry. I... Are you okay?"

She sniffled and wiped her eyes with her blanket. "Get out."

"What?" Ted asked, a hesitant tone in his voice.

"Get out of my house. Get out!" Kristen finally looked up at Ted.

"Kristen, I can't. I need to be here. If you want I can call another doct-"

Kristen jumped up and ran to the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
