Chapter 24: True Love?
The next day, Elsa sadly watches Ardea playing with Olaf the other creatures as she then sees the young teenager coming to her.
"Hi..." Elsa softly greeted.
"Hello" Ardea kindly greeted.
The Snow Queen then sits on her icy throne and motions Ardea to sit near her, which she obeyed, before Elsa said
"There's something I need to tell you"
"What is it?" Ardea asked.
"There is an evil in this world, and I cannot keep you from it" Elsa explained.
Ardea smiles and nodded before replying
"I'm almost eighteen, your majesty. I can take care of myself'
"I understand. But that's not what I have to tell you..." Elsa started.
I have a plan. When I'm older, I want to live here in the Enchanted Mountains with you. Then we can look after each other" Ardea interrupted.
Elsa wasn't sure if that was a good idea before Olaf gleefully added
"You don't have to wait until you're older, you could live here now"
Ardea happily gasped and looks at Elsa with pleadful eyes and begged
"Can I live with you and the creatures? Please? Please?"
"Little does she knows, Little does she understands" Elsa sadly thought to herself then adds "Yes...Yes you can"
"Oh thank you your majesty! I'll sleep with the trolls and eat berries and black nuts and all the mystical creatures will be my family I'll be happy here for the rest of my life. I'm going to tell my aunties and the others tomorrow" Ardea excitingly cheered.
Elsa softly smiles at this but then looks away as she knows tomorrow is Ardea's eighteen birthday which was the day when Ardea will be frozen forever just like Anna.
"Until tomorrow" Elsa nodded.
"Oh, I'm so excited!" Ardea cheered as she hugs Olaf before she leaves to makes her way back to the cottage
Soon Ardea was out of the Enchanted Mountains and is walking in the woods practicing what she's going to say to the three trolls.
"Aunties, I'm almost eighteen and I need a life of my own. No, that's not it..." She pauses for a moment then tries again "I love you very much, but it's time to say goodbye. You've been very good to me, except the time you nearly accidentally fed me spiders, which Kristoff thankfully prevented that"
Suddenly she bumps into someone and looks up to see that it was Oliver, eighteen years old and already, does he look like the same resemblance of his father, Kristoff.
"There you are Anna, We've being looking all over for you" Oliver said, addressing Ardea by the name they believed that she was borned with.
"I'm fine OIiver, I can take care of myself" Ardea replied.
"You've being out a lot lately Anna, Where have you being disappearing too?" Oliver asked.
"Well I want to tell you and the others about that when we get home" said Ardea.
"What do you mean?" Oliver asked in confusion.
Ardea softly smiles at the man and holds his hand as she replied
"You'll see, Now come on"
"OK, OK! I'm coming" Oliver chuckled as he leaves with Ardea.
Elsa and Olaf watches them leave as Olaf was happily excited, which made Elsa confused yet annoyed.
"What are you so happy about now?" Elsa sighed.
"Elsa, don't you see?! That person with Ardea! That boy's the answer to your curse problem" Olaf happily cheered.
Elsa knew what he was talking about, though she didn't care if Ardea was in love with Oliver or not, compare that she never sees them together since they were no longer children.
"No, Olaf" Elsa shook her head.
"Yes! True love's kiss, remember? It can break the spell" Olaf protested, determined to lift Elsa's spirits up.
"True love's kiss? Have you not worked it out yet? I cursed her that way because there is no such thing" Elsa sighed.
"Well, that might be how you feel, but what about Ardea? That boy could be her only chance. It's her fate, anyway" Olaf replied.
"Olaf, what do you know about true love?" Elsa asked intimated.
"More than you, All you know is how to kill people out of vengeance" Olaf snapped.
Elsa looks at the snowman as she felt déjà vu from her argument with Anna about Hans and true love. But this was the first time Olaf stood up to Elsa completely.
"You want people to respect you and understand you but you take your hatred and your powers out on the wrong people. Where's the Elsa I believed was there? Where's the Elsa that Anna told me? When will you learn to stop this madness and just let go of this madness that you have being holding in for so many years" Olaf continued.
"You're just a snowman Olaf, why should I care about what you say" Elsa sternly asked.
"I maybe a snowman but I'm not a mad person who hurts people for revenge on someone you haven't got to" Olaf remarked.
Elsa glares at the snowman and was about to blow Olaf away when he walks off, sternly adding
"Go ahead, Blow me away with your powers. I don't care anymore"
As Olaf sternly yet sadly left, Elsa looks away and sighs as the snow man's words rang true to Elsa. If only she could go back in time and fix everything up but she can't. Right now, she has to find a way to revoke the curse or it'll be too late for Ardea.
