Chapter 25: Daytona Summer Races
Here's chapter 25 of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Fastest and the Squeakiest! Enjoy! Smoke the tires and light the fires! Let's go racing, boys and girls!
After the Chipmunks and Chipette's triumphant and exciting weekend in Kentucky, Dave, Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor were back at the
Daytona International Speedway. Dave was going to be in the Nationwide Series race, driving the #1 car for Kurt Busch for Phoenix Racing. But first, Dave and the
six chipmunks were taking part in a qualifying session for the Sprint Cup Series race. Simon had just finished his qualifying run, taking the pole position with a time of
46.787 seconds and a speed of 192.361 miles per hour.
"Wow, Simon! Nice lap time!" said Jeanette. "Thanks Jeanette. Think you can beat that?" said Simon as the couple. "Challenge accepted." said Jeanette as she got
into her #17 Zest Ford Fusion. "Impress me." said Simon as he put up Jeanette's window net and walked away. Jeanette giggled to herself. "Oh, I'll impress him,
alright." said Jeanette. After Brittany finished her qualifying run, which saw her post a time of 46.910 seconds and a speed of 191.857 miles per hour, Jeanette's turn
finally came.
"This one's for you, Simon." said Jeanette to herself as she finished her warm-up lap and took the green flag. After Jeanette went around the track, she finished her
qualifying run, and she had posted a time of 46.781 seconds and a speed of 192.386 mph! She had taken the pole position from her own boyfriend!
"Impressed now, Simon?" asked Jeanette as she climbed out of her car. "Yep. Now let's see if you can hold on to the position." said Simon. After the final 13 drivers
made their runs, the announcement was made.
"Your pole-sitter for the 2012 Coke-Zero 400 at Daytona is: Jeanette Seville!" said the track announcer. Jeanette's eyes widened and a smile grew on her face.
"Woooooohooooo! I won my first pole award!" said Jeanette as she and the five other chipmunks and Dave celebrated on pit road. "Way to go, Jeanette! You'll be a
big threat to win tomorrow night!" said Alvin. "Congratulations Jeanette!" said Theodore. "Awesome job, sis!" said Brittany. "Nice job, Jeanette!" said Eleanor. "I'm so
proud of you, Jeanette!" said Dave, who qualified 3rd. "We're starting next to each other on the front row!" said Simon. Then, the couple shared a warm kiss on the
lips for a moment, and then Jeanette went to take photos with her team. But in post-qualifying inspection, the officials saw something wrong with Simon's car.
"Simon? Come here, please." said an official. Simon walked over. "Yes?" said Simon. "We found an air hose that was not approved. I'm afraid we have to strip you of
your qualifying time and speed." said the official. "What?! No! No, please! Please don't do it! Can I get a do-over?" pleaded Simon. "No. I'm sorry, but there are no
do-overs after qualifying. I'm sorry, but those are the rules." said the official. "No, please! Please don't take away my time and speed! Noooooooooooo!" pleaded
Simon. But he was unsuccessful in doing so, and headed back to the pits to get ready for the Nationwide Series race. After Jeanette finished with her photo session
for winning her first pole position, she saw Simon.
"Hey, Simon. What's the matter?" asked Jeanette. "I got stripped of my qualifying time." said Simon sadly, looking at the ground. "Why?" asked Jeanette. "Air hose
violation. I lost my time and speed because of a stinking air hose violation! It's not fair!" said Simon as he smacked the ground with his water bottle in frustration and
anger. Jeanette put her hands on his shoulders to restrain him.
"Simon, you need to calm down. You can get to the front from 42nd." said Jeanette. "I hope you're right." said Simon. Then, as the couple got ready for the
Nationwide Series race, Nicole Briscoe started the pre-race show.
"Hello race fans, and welcome to the Daytona International Speedway! I'm Nicole Briscoe, inside the ESPN Pit Studio with Rusty Wallace and Brad Daugherty. Rusty,
what is it like to win in Daytona?" asked Nicole. "Well Nicole, it's the best thing you can do in NASCAR. Winning at Daytona means you've had a great career and that
you will be well-known after the races. If you win at Daytona, you can win anywhere." said Rusty. "You're right, Rusty. But if you're going to win in Daytona, you
have to make it out of the draft and be at the front of the pack when the checkered flag waves. And we'll see how the father of the Chipmunks and the Chipettes,
Dave Seville, does tonight." said Brad. "Speaking of Dave, I believe Jamie Little is with Dave right now. Jamie?" said Nicole.
"That's right, Nicole. I am with Dave Seville right now. He will be in the Phoenix Racing #1 car for Kurt Busch tonight. Dave, how tough is it going to be to get to the
lead tonight?" asked Jamie. "It'll be very tough to get to the front. But I have faith in my kids. I know they will do a great job tonight and I'll give them a reward if
they do." said Dave. "Can you get to the front tonight?" asked Jamie. "I'm certainly going to try. Alvin won his first race last Friday, so I'm going to try and win my
first Nationwide Series race tonight as well." said Dave. "Thanks Dave." said Jamie.

The pre-race ceremonies got through, the drivers got strapped into their cars, and then the window nets went up and were secured. All six chipmunks came up to the
car to see Dave before the command to fire the engines was given.
"Alright, guys. Be safe, have fun, and let's have a good, solid night tonight. Make me proud." said Dave. "Okay, Dave." said the six chipmunks before they went to
the pit wall. "Hands in, guys! 'Dave' on three!" said Alvin. All six chipmunks put their hands in. "One! Two! Three! Dave!" said the six chipmunks. Then, Colonel
Gregory D. Gadson, an injured military soldier, gave the command.
"DRIVERS, START YOUR ENGINES!" said Gregory. Then, as all 43 engines roared to life, Allen Bestwick started the race coverage.
"Hello race fans, and welcome to the Daytona International Speedway! I'm Allen Bestwick, alongside Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree. Dale, what will be the keys to
victory here tonight?" asked Allen. "It will be about making the pit stops count, being out front, and avoiding the Big One." said Dale. "Andy, can Dave Seville pull off
his first Nationwide Series win tonight?" asked Allen. "I hope so! It's up to his kids tonight on pit road!" said Andy. "Well then, let's take a look at the starting grid for
the Subway Jalapeno 250. Row 1 is #6 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and #88 Cole Whitt. Stenhouse is on the pole. Row 2 is #7 Danica Patrick and #33 Kevin Harvick. Row 3
is #1 Dave Seville and #22 Brad Keselowski. Row 4 is #01 Mike Wallace and #18 Joey Logano. Row 5 is #11 Brian Scott and #36 Bobby Santos. Row 6 is #70
Johanna Long and #20 Clint Bowyer. Row 7 is #2 Elliott Sadler and #30 James Buescher. Row 8 is #44 Mike Bliss and #12 Sam Hornish Jr. Row 9 is #43 Michael
Annett and #99 John Wes Townley. Row 10 is #38 Brad Sweet and #54 Kyle Busch. Row 11 is #31 Justin Allgaier and #19 Tayler Malsam. Row 12 is #10 Jeff Green
and #24 Casey Roderick. Row 13 is #87 Joe Nemechek and #14 Eric McClure. Row 14 is #39 Josh Richards and #4 Danny Efland. Row 15 is #81 Jason Bowles and
#15 Jeffery Earnhardt. Row 16 is #82 Blake Koch and #08 Bryan Silas. Row 17 is #51 Jeremy Clements and #23 Robert Richardson Jr. Row 18 is #50 T.J. Bell and
#74 Mike Harmon. Row 19 is #41 Timmy Hill and #47 Stephen Leicht. Row 20 is #42 Josh Wise and #52 Joey Gase. Row 21 is #40 Erik Darnell and #3 Austin Dillon.
And starting last in row 22 is #46 Chase Miller." said Allen as the field began their pace laps. "Austin Dillon would be starting on the pole, but his time was disallowed
after his car failed post-qualifying inspection." said Dale. "Our drivers that have on-board cameras tonight are #1 Dave Seville, #2 Elliott Sadler, #3 Austin Dillon, #6
Ricky Stenhouse Jr., #7 Danica Patrick, #18 Joey Logano, #22 Brad Keselowski, and #30 James Buescher." said Andy. Then, as the field got the one-to-go signal,
Kurt Busch came on the radio.
"Dave, I'm your gasman tonight. James Finch is your spotter." said Kurt over the radio. "Who's my crew chief?" asked Dave. "Simon is your crew chief." said Kurt.
"Okay." said Dave. Then, Simon came on the radio.
"Dave? Can you hear me loud and clear?" asked Simon. "Yes, Simon. I got you loud and clear." said Dave over the radio. "Good. We will be in pit stall #20. You will
have a clear entry into the stall. You might also have a clear exit too." said Simon. "Okay. What's the race analysis?" asked Dave. The race length is 100 laps/250
miles. Pit window is 37-45 laps, and pit road speed is 55 mph." said Simon. "Thanks!" said Dave. Hornish dropped to the rear of the field because of an engine
change. Then, the pace car went to pit road, leaving the field in the hands of Stenhouse and Whitt. Then, the green flag was in the air.
"Green flag is out! We are underway in Daytona!" said Allen as the field raced into turn 1. Harvick and Whitt hooked up and took the lead on the backstretch while
Stenhouse and Patrick hooked up. Dave was hooked up with no one. Harvick pushed Whitt out front, allowing Whitt to lead the first lap of the race. On lap 2, Dave
found Bowyer, thanks to a push from Sadler, and the pair shot past Stenhouse and Patrick, moving Dave into third and towards the lead. Then, on lap 4, Bowyer and
Sadler re-hooked up with each other and got past Dave for third and fourth, but Dave found Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch's younger brother, and the two hooked up. Dave
maintained his spot in fifth. On the backstretch, Whitt and Harvick separated for a moment, allowing Bowyer to take the lead. Harvick backed up so fast, Dave
bumped his rear bumper. Kyle Busch had to back off of Dave's rear bumper. On lap 5, Dave kept losing contact with Kyle.
"I can't stay with you. I seriously need to learn how to draft." said Dave over the radio to Kyle Busch. "It's alright. Just slow up a little bit and I'll do the rest." said
Kyle. "Okay. I'll give it a shot." said Dave. In turn 3, Keselowski took the lead with a push from Logano after Bowyer and Sadler traded places because Sadler's
engine was getting hot. Then, Keselowski and Bowyer did the same thing on lap 6, allowing Sadler to get to the lead with a push from Bowyer.
"I'm trapped in the pack. It's getting really nasty out here." said Dave over the radio. "Dave, just try to find a spot and stay there." said Simon. "I'll try." said Dave.
On lap 8, the first caution came out. Brian Scott stalled on the track.
"Trouble in turn 3! Brian Scott has stalled on the track! Caution is out!" said Allen Bestwick as the field slowed down for the first time in the race. "Dave, everyone is
coming to pit road. Follow the leader." said Simon. "Okay." said Dave over the radio. Sure enough, everyone on the lead lap, except Hornish, came to pit road. Kurt
Busch and Alvin went over the wall. Kurt filled the fuel cell with fuel while Alvin removed a piece of tape from the lower grill area. Everyone got fuel only, and when
the stops were complete, the top ten coming off pit road was Earnhardt, Keselowski, Logano, Patrick, Dave, Kyle Busch, Wallace, Stenhouse, Bowyer, and Buescher.
Earnhardt missed his stall, so he came back to pit road for his stop. On lap 12, the race was back under green and Hornish immediately hooked up with his Penske
Racing teammate, Brad Keselowski, and held onto the lead. Dave hooked up with Kyle Busch right away, moving him into fourth behind Logano. On lap 13, Logano
dropped back to hook up with Sadler, allowing Dave and Kyle Busch to move into fourth. But then, the pack came up behind the pair, keeping Dave and Busch pinned
on the low side of the track.
"I'm pinned down on the low side! I can't move!" said Dave over the radio. "Just hang on, Dave. It'll clear up shortly." said Simon. "I hope you're right." said Dave.
Sure enough, an opening came and Dave took the opportunity and went for it. But on lap 15, Dave was sandwiched in a four-wide race for third!
"Get out of there, Dave! Get out of there!" said Alvin. "I can't watch!" said Theodore as he covered his eyes. On lap 16, Dave got a huge push from Kyle Busch and it
sent Dave into the lead!
"Theodore?" said Alvin. "Yes?" said Theodore. "Look." said Alvin, pointing to the TV screen. "Go Dave, go!" said Theodore. Kyle Busch came on the radio.
"Dave, you are now leading in Daytona!" said Kyle Busch. "Thanks, Kyle! Keep it up!" said Dave over the radio. On lap 18, Kyle's engine was getting hot.
"Dave, we need to do the switch. My engine is getting hot." said Kyle Busch over the radio. "Okay." said Dave. Then, Dave let Kyle go by him, and Dave dropped in
behind Kyle. However, it sent Danica Patrick into the lead, and it dropped Dave to fourth. A few laps later, Dave and Kyle did the switch again, and Dave moved into
third. On lap 22, Dave and Kyle caught Patrick and Keselowski, and moved past the pair, sending Dave back into the lead.
"Dave? You alright?" asked Kyle Busch over the radio. "I'm fine. I'm just quiet." said Dave. "Okay. Keep up the good work." said Kyle. Dave then noticed that Kyle
was trying to peek out from behind him.
"Kyle, what are you doing?" asked Dave. "I'm just trying to get my engine cooled as best as possible." said Kyle over the radio. "Okay. Just don't wreck me." said
Dave. "Don't worry. I won't. I'll be careful." said Kyle. A few laps later, Kyle's engine got too hot again.
"Dave, we have to do the switch again. My engine is getting too hot." said Kyle over the radio. "Okay. I'll move up and you go by me." said Dave. Then, the pair did
the switch again and on lap 32, Dave and Kyle got shuffled back to ninth and tenth, and Joe Nemechek got pushed into the lead, thanks to Stenhouse. But then, Kyle
and Dave were re-hooked once again, and they were in fourth and fifth.
"We make a great team, don't we, Kyle?" asked Dave over the radio. "Yep. We sure do. Keep it up." said Kyle. On lap 34, Dave pushed Kyle into the lead. "Come on,
Dave. Give it a little more gas." said Kyle over the radio. Dave did so and he went faster and pushed Kyle farther ahead. "There you go! That's what I'm talking
about!" said Kyle. On lap 37, the pair did the switch again, and Dave was able to hold off Sadler long enough to lead the lap. On lap 41, the second caution of the
race came out. Silas bumped Wallace accidently, sending Wallace spinning down the track. Wallace came back up the track, but he spun again and nearly took out
Keselowski and Hornish.
"Trouble in turn 2! Mike Wallace has gone around and nearly takes out the Penske cars of Keselowski and Hornish! Caution is out!" said Allen Bestwick as the field
slowed down again. Wallace made it back to pit road safely and his crew began repairs. "Dave, everyone's coming in. Follow the leader. Wait a minute. You ARE the
leader. Everyone's following YOU to pit road." said Simon. "Got it. Coming to you." said Dave over the radio. "Dave, once I lower the car the second time, that's your
cue to go. So you go on MY signal." said Alvin. "10-4." said Dave. Sure enough, Dave led everyone on the lead lap down pit road. Dave drove slowly into his stall and
stopped. Kurt Busch and the five other chipmunks got straight to work. Alvin lifted the car with the jack, Theodore and Eleanor removed the old tires, and Brittany
and Jeanette put on the new tires. Alvin lowered the car and then all five chipmunks did their jobs on the other side of the car. Dave tossed out his empty water
bottle and then Alvin quickly handed him a new one. Then, Alvin lowered the car gently and then Dave left the stall. The whole stop was done in 15.5 seconds! When
the stops were complete, the top ten coming off pit road was Patrick, Dave, Logano, Kyle Busch, Dillon, Harvick, Sadler, Keselowski, Nemechek, and Buescher.
Patrick took two tires. Everyone else took four tires. Unfortunately, one of Kyle Busch's tires got away and Busch had to restart at the rear of the field.
"Dave, a tire got away from my stall and now I have restart at the rear of the field." said Kyle over the radio. "Okay. I'll do what I can until you get to me." said
Dave. Kyle Busch came back to pit road to top off his car with fuel. Then, the green flag flew and Patrick, thanks to a push from Logano, got out front quickly. But her
lead would be short-lived. With a push from Austin Dillon, Dave was able to take back the lead. As the field came off turn 4, Nemechek, with a push from Stenhouse,
was able to lead the lap at the line! On lap 48, Patrick got out front with a push from Harvick. But Harvick and Patrick somehow got separated, causing Harvick to fall
to tenth. Patrick was able to hook up with Logano, but Nemechek had already grabbed back the lead. Kyle Busch, however, made his way into the top five.
"Dave, I'm right behind Dillon. I'll get to as quickly as possible. Just hang on." said Kyle. "Okay. I'll do what I can for now." said Dave over the radio. On lap 49, with
a push from Sadler, Logano took the lead as Dave and Dillon tried to get re-hooked. On lap 50, Dave realized he made it to the halfway mark!
"I made to the halfway mark! Let's go win this thing!" said Dave over the radio. "Go Dave, go! Go, go, go!" said the six chipmunks at the same time. With 46 laps to
go, Dave had dropped out of the top ten to find Kyle Busch. Finally, he found his drafting partner.
"Alright Kyle, let's hook up and go to the front!" said Dave over the radio. "You got it, Dave. 10-4." said Kyle. But then Dave moved up a lane, allowing him and
James Buescher to hook up.
"Sorry Kyle. I moved too early. Now I can't get back to you." said Dave over the radio. "It's alright, Dave. Don't worry about it. Just go." said Kyle. With 45 laps to
go, Patrick, with a push from Casey Roderick, got back into the lead. Then, two laps later, Mike Wallace found his way back to the lead, with a push from Harvick!
With 42 laps to go, Patrick grabbed the lead as Wallace and Harvick did the switch. However, Dave hooked up with Bowyer.
"Come on, Clint. Push my dad to the lead." said Theodore to himself as he watched the race on the TV. With 37 laps to go, Buescher, with a push from Keselowski,
took the lead. Kyle Busch finally got re-hooked and then the pair started moving towards the front. Wallace then pushed Harvick into the lead a moment later. Dave,
however, was pinned in the low lane!
"Get out of there, Dave! Get out of there!" said Simon. "I can't! I can't move!" said Dave over the radio. Then, disaster struck. With 35 laps to go, the third caution
came out. A multi-car wreck erupted in turn 2, collecting Dave in the process.
"Trouble in turn 2! Keselowski is around and in the wall, and there are multiple cars involved, including Dave Seville in the #1 car! The Big One has struck in Daytona!
Caution is out!" said Allen as the field slowed down again in front of the chaos that erupted behind them. "Go low, go low, go low… we're in it. You okay?" asked
James Finch over the radio. "Yeah, I'm alright." said Dave. Simon then came on the radio.
"Dave, you okay?" asked Simon. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. The bad news is the rear window is messed up and gone. I'm coming in!" said Dave over the radio. The
chipmunks jumped over the wall as soon as Dave stopped in his stall and got right to work.
"The window was knocked out! Need a replacement window, now!" said Alvin. He was handed one and put it into place. "Brittany, hold that in place while I get the
tape!" said Alvin. "Okay. Just get as much tape as you can! Hurry!" said Brittany. "We need to get him back out there fast, or we're going to be a lap down and then
we'll never have a shot at getting the win!" said Theodore. As Alvin ran to get some big strips of tape, Theodore and Eleanor changed Dave's tires while Kurt Busch
lifted the car up with the jack. Jeanette re-fueled the car. Alvin returned moments later with the tape and then he and Brittany worked together to get the car
repaired. Finally, after about a minute of repairs and after getting the "all clear" signal from the two officials watching, Dave left the pits and got back on the track,
remaining on the lead lap. The drivers who were involved in the wreck were Wallace, Dave, Sadler, Efland, Scott, Bowyer, Keselowski, Roderick, Buescher, Harvick,
Annett, Kyle Busch, Long, Bowles, Nemechek Whitt, and Townley. They were the 17 drivers that were involved in the wreck. Dave and Kyle Busch both came back to
the pits to double-check everything to make sure that they were good to go. Alvin had a drill and a piece of sheetmetal.
"Alvin, what are you doing?" asked Brittany. "I'm putting this piece of sheetmetal on the car so it can hold the tape and the window in place!" said Alvin as he
installed the sheetmetal. Finally, Alvin finished his work. "Go, go, go, go, go, go!" said Alvin. Dave then took off and went back on the track. A few moments later,
everyone on the lead lap that was not involved in the wreck, came to pit road. Everyone got four tires and fuel, and when the stops were complete, the top ten
coming off pit road was Allgaier, Patrick, Dillon, Logano, Stenhouse, Hornish, Bliss, Sweet, Malsam, and McClure. Dave then came on the radio.
"Great job, guys! The car seems fine now. I'll take it from here." said Dave over the radio. "Go Dave, go!" said the six chipmunks. Then, with 28 laps to go, the race
was back under green, and Dave was literally at the tail-end of the field that remained. Meanwhile, Allgaier got out front with a push from Danica Patrick. Dave
managed to sneak back into the pack as Patrick and Logano fought for the lead. With 26 laps to go, Dave broke into the top ten and was hooked up with young rookie
Timmy Hill. But one lap later, Hill and Dave disconnected, and Dave hooked up with Sadler a moment later, miraculously moving Dave into second after Allgaier and
Dillon got disconnected! Coming into turn 3, and without any help, Dave was able to slingshot around Allgaier and snatch back the lead! But right behind him, Brad
Sweet was accidently turned by Stenhouse and ended up hitting the inside wall, bringing out the fourth caution and ending Sweet's night.
"Trouble on the frontstretch! Sweet has spun and hit the wall! Caution is out!" said Allen as the field slowed down again. "I nearly got taken out again! Did he get my
rear bumper?" asked Dave over the radio. "No, you're okay. You're good." said Simon. "Good." said Dave. A few laps later, Whitt and Bowyer were leaving the garage
area and heading back onto the track. Then, with 19 laps to go, the race was back under green, and with a strong push from Sadler and Logano, Dave was able to
get out front quickly. On the backstretch, Santos cut a tire and hit the wall, but he kept moving, so no caution came out. Then, Dave's original drafting partner, Kyle
Busch, had made it into the pack, so Dave gave up the lead to get re-hooked up with Kyle. However, Kyle was a lap down. As soon as Kyle made contact with Dave's
rear bumper, the pair started to head back to the front. But their progress was interrupted by the fifth caution of the race. Another multi-car wreck broke out on the
backstretch, which saw Danica Patrick slam hard into the inside wall.
"Trouble on the backstretch! Multiple cars involved in this one again and Danica's in the inside wall HARD!" said Allen Bestwick as the field slowed down. Dave was
right behind Jeffery Earnhardt and Stenhouse, the two drivers that started the wreck, and slowed up to get by. He did so and was fine.
"Dave, you okay?" asked Alvin. "I'm alright. I'm fine. That was closer than the last two wrecks." said Dave over the radio. "Yep. Keep going, Dave. Let's win this
thing!" said Alvin. "10-4." said Dave. "I think the better question should be 'Is Danica okay?'" said Theodore. "Obviously, she is fine because I just saw her walk into
the ambulance." said Brittany. "That's good." said Theodore. "And from the angle she hit the wall at, her steering wheel got pushed upward and it almost hit her
helmet." said Alvin. The five other chipmunks gasped. "Oh my goodness! Glad she really is okay!" said Brittany. The drivers involved in the wreck were Stenhouse,
Patrick, McClure, Earnhardt, and Koch. Then, with 12 laps to go, the race was back under green, and with a push from Logano, Sadler got out front quickly. But Dave
had hooked up with Stenhouse. But then Dave found Dillon, and Stenhouse found Hill. The two drivers hooked up with their new drafting partners and proceeded
towards the front with 12 laps to go. Then, Hornish took the lead with 11 laps to go, thanks to a push from Allgaier. But Dave and Dillon were able to force the pair
into the top lane, allowing Dave and Dillon to move into third and fourth with 10 laps to go! Dillon was able to beat Sadler to the line, allowing Dillon to lead the lap.
The pair got shuffled back momentarily, but Dave and Dillon did not give up. With 8 laps to go, Dave was able to push Dillon past Sadler and Logano, allowing Dillon
to take the lead. Three laps later, Hornish pushed Allgaier into the lead, allowing Allgaier to lead the lap at the line. A few moments later, the sixth caution came out.
There was debris on the frontstretch.
"Debris on the frontstretch! Caution is out! This changes everything!" said Allen Bestwick as the field slowed down again. "Dave, it's going to be a green-white-
checkered finish." said Simon. "Understood. Let's do this!" said Dave over the radio. Then, after the quick clean-up, the race was back under green with 2 laps to go
and Dave immediately pushed Dillon out front. But then Dave decided that it was time to make his move and steal back the lead. Dave tried to go with Logano, but
Dave got forced into the middle lane! However, Stenhouse was right behind him!
"Don't worry, Dave! I've got you! I'm getting us to the lead!" said Stenhouse. "Thanks!" said Dave. Sadler pushed Logano out front as the field saw the white flag.
"One lap to go in Daytona! It's anybody's race!" said Allen Bestwick as the field took the white flag. "Come on, Dave! Go! Go! GO!" said the six chipmunks. Stenhouse
was then able to push Dave into the lead as the field came onto the backstretch. As the field exited turns 3 and 4, the checkered flag was waiting.
"Here comes Dave and Stenhouse off turn 4! Stenhouse goes to the low side, but not quickly enough! Austin Dillon spins, Dave Seville has won in Daytona!" said
Allen Bestwick as the field took the checkered flag and tried to avoid the wreck, which saw Dillon get loose and spin across the line in fourth. "WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!
WE WON DAYTONA! WE WON DAYTONA!" said Dave excitedly over the radio on the cool down lap. "We did it!" said the six chipmunks as they leapt off the pit wall
and celebrated. "You okay, Kyle?" asked Dave. "Yeah, I'm fine. Hey, congratulations on the win! You deserve to win in NASCAR! Your kids rock!" said Kyle as he slid
to a stop on pit road. "Thanks Kyle. That really means a lot to me." said Dave. "No problem, Dave." said Kyle. Then, Dave parked on the frontstretch while Alvin ran
to get the checkered flag. The five other chipmunks and Kurt Busch ran excitedly onto the track to where Dave was waiting for them, leaned in the window, and
hugged Dave happily. Alvin then handed Dave the checkered flag. After the six chipmunks moved out of the way, Dave did a big burnout on the frontstretch with the
checkered flag in his hand, and then he drove off to Victory Lane, where Kurt Busch and the six chipmunks were waiting. As Dave pulled into Victory Lane, his car
was showered in water and Gatorade. He parked the car, shut the engine off, took off his helmet, HANS device, gloves, put on a Monster Energy hat, climbed out of
the car, and then the big celebration began!
"Woooooohoooooo! Yeah baby! Yes! Yes! Yes!" said Dave as he was showered in water and Gatorade. After squirting some Gatorade on the chipmunks and Kurt
Busch, Dave Burns came and interviewed Dave Seville.
"Dave, you are a winner in Daytona! Congratulations!" said Dave Burns. "Thanks. I'm here in Victory Lane tonight mainly because of them." said Dave, pointing to
the chipmunks and Kurt Busch. "The chipmunks and Kurt Busch got me here tonight. It was mainly the chipmunks. Alvin and Brittany did a great job fixing the
window. And we just won at Daytona as a family!" said Dave Seville as Alvin poured Gatorade all over his hat. "Yeah. Your kids did such a great job tonight. Are you
going to give them a reward?" asked Dave Burns. "As a matter of fact, I am. Tomorrow, I will take them all out for pizza!" said Dave. The six chipmunks cheered and
hugged Dave Seville. "You're the best dad in the whole world!" said Alvin. "We love you, Dave!" said the six chipmunks as they hugged Dave. "I love you all, too."
said Dave as he hugged the chipmunks, earning an "Awww!" from everyone that was watching in Victory Lane. Dave gave Kurt Busch his camera, then the six
chipmunks went with Dave for the photos. Kurt then started taking photos of Dave and the #1 Phoenix Racing team.

After an hour and a half of photos and interviews, plus the trip to the media center, Dave and the six tired chipmunks walked back to the RV with Dave's trophy. As
soon as the six chipmunks were in the RV, Dave got in, closed the RV doors, started the engine, and drove to the hotel near the track. As soon as the six chipmunks
were in the hotel, they were changing out of their soaked firesuits in seconds. They each took turns taking a shower, and then they got into their dry, warm, and
comfortable pajamas. Dave took a shower and put on his pajamas too. By the time Dave was in his pajamas, the six tired chipmunks were already snuggled with
each other and fast asleep. Dave smiled at the sight before him, turned out the lights, and then got into bed, falling asleep himself, happy about his win in Daytona.

The next morning, Dave and the six chipmunks got up and got dressed for the day. Dave drove the six chipmunks back to the Daytona International Speedway for
the Coke-Zero 400. Dave took them all out to have pizza for lunch, as he promised, and they got back in time for pre-race festivities. Then, the six chipmunk's
names, along with another driver, were called.
"Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Jeanette, Eleanor, and A.J. Allmendinger. Please come to the infield care center for a drug test immediately." said the track
announcer. The six chipmunks stopped what they were doing and headed for the care center. When they got there, they were given a cup and each driver went into
their own bathroom stall to do the test. When they were done, the seven drivers handed back the cups and waited in the lobby. Then, an official came up to the
seven drivers.
"Chipmunks and Chipettes, you passed the drug test. A.J., you did not." said the official. The chipmunks gasped. "A.J. Allmendinger, I'm afraid you will have to leave
the track immediately. You are suspended indefinitely until further tests can be completed. Bottom line, you can't race tonight. You may all go now." said the official.
The seven drivers got up and walked out of the care center. Brittany stopped to talk with Allmendinger.
"Just go. I'll be back in a little bit." said Brittany to the other chipmunks. Then, Brittany's tears escaped from her eyes, rolled down her cheeks, and hugged
Allmendinger.
"I'm sorry this happened to you." said Brittany. "I know. I don't get it. I just don't understand why I failed. Brittany, you just need to focus on the race.
Don't worry about me. I'll be okay." said A.J. "Okay. I will. Good luck to you, A.J." said Brittany. A.J. and Brittany shared one final hug before Allmendinger got up
and left the track. Brittany stood where she was and sadly watched Allmendinger walk away from the track. Then, with her head down in sadness, she walked
towards the pits. Then, Adam Alexander started the pre-race show.
"Hello race fans, and welcome to the Daytona International Speedway! I'm Adam Alexander, alongside Larry McReynolds and Kyle Petty. Guys, we just got word that
A.J. Allmendinger has been suspended from tonight's race after failing a drug test. His teammate, Brittany, took it hard." said Adam. "I don't blame her. I would be
upset too. A.J. is a talented driver, as well as Brittany. And I just got a report that Sam Hornish Jr. is on his way from Charlotte, North Carolina to drive the car." said
Kyle. "And we'll see if Jeanette can pull off the sweep in Daytona." said Larry. "Speaking of Brittany and Jeanette, I believe Marty Snider is with them know. Ralph?"
said Adam.
"That's right, Adam. I'm with Brittany and Jeanette. Brittany, with the suspension of Allmendinger, how will you handle the race tonight?" asked Marty. "I'm going to
do everything I can to make it to the finish. Plain and simple." said Brittany. "Jeanette, can you win from the pole at Daytona?" asked Ralph. "I'm certainly going to
try." said Jeanette. "Thanks Brittany and Jeanette. I believe Chris Neville is with Simon right now. Chris?" said Marty. "Thanks Marty. I am with Simon right now.
Simon, how tough will it be to get from the back to the front?" asked Chris. "It will be very tough. I just hope to avoid the wrecks and stay out of trouble." said
Simon. "Can you get to the front and score your third win of the season?" asked Chris. "I'll do what I can. But I know it will be tough." said Simon. "Thanks Simon."
said Chris.

Brittany was on the stage on the frontstretch because she was singing the National Anthem.
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
After the pre-race ceremonies got through (Sam Hornish Jr. arrived at his car as the National Anthem was being sung), the drivers got strapped into their cars, put on
their helmets, HANS devices, and gloves, the window nets went up and were secured, former Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden, gave the command.
"DRIVERS, START YOUR ENGINES!" said Bobby. Then as all 43 cars roared to life, and then Adam Alexander started the TV coverage of the race.
"Hello race fans, and welcome to the Daytona International Speedway! I'm Adam Alexander, alongside Wally Dallenbach Jr. and Kyle Petty. Wally, what will be the
key to winning here in Daytona tonight?" asked Adam. "Same as last night's Nationwide Series race: getting up front, fast pit stops, and avoiding the Big One." said
Wally. "Kyle, do you think Simon and Jeanette will sweep Daytona this year in the Sprint Cup Series?" asked Adam. "I hope so!" said Kyle excitedly. "Well then, let's
take a look at the starting grid for the Coke-Zero 400 at Daytona. Row 1 is #17 Jeanette Seville and #39 Dave Seville. Jeanette is on the pole. Row 2 is #5 Eleanor
Seville and #16 Greg Biffle. Row 3 is #24 Jeff Gordon and #50 Bill Elliott. Row 4 is #13 Casey Mears and #22 Sam Hornish Jr. Row 5 is #2 Brittany Seville and #9
Marcos Ambrose. Row 6 is #29 Alvin Seville and #99 Carl Edwards. Row 7 is #27 Paul Menard and #42 Juan Pablo Montoya. Row 8 is #21 Trevor Bayne and #48
Jimmie Johnson. Row 9 is #43 Aric Almirola and #56 Martin Truex Jr. Row 10 is #20 Joey Logano and #31 Jeff Burton. Row 11 is #98 Michael McDowell and #18
Kyle Busch. Row 12 is #11 Denny Hamlin and #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Row 13 is #78 Regan Smith and #30 David Stremme. Row 14 is #34 David Ragan and #55
Michael Waltrip. Row 15 is #15 Theodore Seville and #1 Jamie McMurray. Row 16 is #26 Josh Wise and #38 David Gilliland. Row 17 is #36 Dave Blaney and #32
Terry Labonte. Row 18 is #51 Kurt Busch and #87 Joe Nemechek. Row 19 is #33 Stephen Leicht and #83 Landon Cassill. Row 20 is #10 David Reutimann and #93
Travis Kvapil. Row 21 is #47 Bobby Labonte and #14 Simon Seville. And starting last in row 22 is #49 J.J. Yeley." said Adam Alexander as the field began their pace
laps. Simon and Steve Addington were talking on the radio.
"Alright guys, let's have a smooth race. Fast pit stops, avoid the Big One, and let's have some fun tonight!" said Simon over the radio. "Alright, you got it, bud." said
Steve Addington. Then, after the field got the one-to-go signal, Dave came on the radio.
"Welcome back to Daytona International Speedway! Be safe, have fun, and hopefully one of us will be in Victory Lane at the end of the race!" said Dave. "Okay
Dave!" said the six chipmunks. "Simon, what is the race analysis for tonight?" asked Dave. "Race length is 160 laps/400 miles. Pit window is 44-50 laps, and pit road
speed is 55 mph." said Simon. "Thanks!" said Dave. Ambrose dropped to the rear because of unapproved adjustments before the race, and Hornish and McDowell
dropped to the rear because of driver changes. Then, the pace car went to pit road, leaving the field in the hands of Jeanette and Dave. Then, the green flag was in
the air.
"Green flag is in the air! We are underway in Daytona, the World Center of Racing!" said Adam as the field raced into turn 1. Eleanor pushed Dave, Biffle pushed
Jeanette. Biffle was able to get Jeanette out front on the backstretch, and backed off a little in turns 3 and 4, allowing Jeanette to lead the first lap of the race. On lap
2, Alvin dropped out of line and towards the back of the field.
"I got too uncomfortable in the pack, Shane." said Alvin over the radio. "Okay. Just hang in there. You'll be alright." said Shane Wilson. Simon had hooked up with
Hornish and started moving through the field immediately. Biffle was also continuing push Jeanette, keeping her in the lead. Eleanor moved in front of her teammate,
Jeff Gordon, to try and move up through the field.
"I need to try and get moving, Kenny. I need to lead some laps." said Eleanor over the radio. "Take your time. It's a long race. Hang in there." said Kenny. On lap 12,
Simon was in 29th.
"I'm not running as fast as I had hoped, Steve. I'm a bit tight in the center of the corner." said Simon over the radio. "You'll be alright. We'll work on it on the first
stop." said Steve Addington. Kurt Busch had now moved in front of Eleanor to try and get the high lane moving. But on lap 16, Eleanor and Gordon moved to the high
lane and moved to the back of the pack. Theodore was stuck in 39th, the last car on the lead lap.
"I'm really tight everywhere in the corners. I'm getting nowhere." said Theodore over the radio. "You'll be alright, Theodore. Just hang in there. We'll work on it on
the first stop." said Brian Pattie. As Jeanette continued to lead, Matt Kenseth came on the radio.
"Jeanette, how does it feel to be leading at Daytona again?" asked Kenseth. "Amazing! I love this track!" said Jeanette over the radio. "I bet Simon taught you
everything you need to know about restrictor-plate racing, right?" asked Kenseth. "Surprisingly, no." said Jeanette. "Oh really? Well then, who did?" asked Kenseth.
"Alvin." said Jeanette. "Really?" asked Kenseth. "Yep. He taught me everything such as how to draft, how to slingshot past another driver, and how to maintain my
speed in the pack when being pushed. And besides, Simon asked him to do it." said Jeanette. "I see." said Kenseth. As Jeanette continued to lead, Alvin and
Theodore were still at the tail-end of the field.
"Theodore, you stick with me. You understand? You stay on my rear bumper!" said Alvin over the radio. "Got it." said Theodore. Jeanette and Biffle had their plan for
the race set.
"Jeanette, I will be working with you the whole race. Wherever you go, I'll follow. So if you go to pit road, I go to pit road too. Teammates have to stick together."
said Biffle over the radio. "Got it! Keep it up, Greg!" said Jeanette. On lap 35, Alvin was in 20th, but he somehow lost his drafting partner.
"Theodore, where are you? I told you to stay with me!" said Alvin over the radio. "I'm trying to, but I can't keep up! A lot of the fast cars have drafting partners
already!" said Theodore. Alvin groaned to himself in frustration. "I'll see if I can get Eleanor back to you." said Alvin. Then, Alvin came on Eleanor's radio.
"Eleanor, Theodore needs your help. He's trapped in the rear of the field." said Alvin over the radio. "Alvin, not now. I'm busy. Maybe later." said Eleanor before
tuning her radio to where she could hear Kasey Kahne and Kenny Francis. "She hung up on me! How rude!" said Alvin. Then Alvin came back on Theodore's radio.
"Theodore, your girlfriend can't come back there right now. She's busy and she hung up on me!" said Alvin over the radio. "Fine. I'll get to the front myself, or at
least until she gets to me." said Theodore. On lap 40, Brittany saw a space open up in the low lane, and she went for it, safely putting her in 13th, between Johnson
and Eleanor. On lap 41, Kyle Busch came to pit road to begin the first round of green-flag pit stops. Alvin then came to pit road and was followed by Menard, Burton,
Logano, Bobby Labonte, Dave, Brittany, Blaney, Reutimann, Truex, Eleanor, Simon, Theodore, Hornish, Cassill, Kvapil, Montoya, Gilliland, Ragan, McMurray, Hamlin,
Terry Labonte, Jeanette, Biffle, Edwards, Wise, Almirola, Ambrose, Elliott, Gordon, Bayne, Mears, Waltrip, Smith, Kurt Busch, and Earnhardt Jr. When the stops were
complete, Truex emerged as the race leader. On lap 47, Jeanette was pushing Biffle.
"Remember what Alvin taught you, Jeanette." said Eleanor over the radio. "I will." said Jeanette. On lap 48, Jeanette pushed Biffle into the lead. "Jeanette, you led
the first 41 laps of the race! 41 laps in a row! Way to go!" said Kenseth over the radio. "Thanks! I love leading at Daytona! And pushing my teammates into the lead,
of course!" said Jeanette. "I know." said Kenseth. On lap 50, the top five was Biffle, Jeanette, Truex, Eleanor, and Dave.
"Jeanette, where are you?" asked Simon over the radio. "Second. Pushing Biffle out front." said Jeanette. "That's my girl." said Simon. On lap 60, the top five was
Biffle, Jeanette, Eleanor, Dave, and Earnhardt Jr. Simon, who was still in 33rd, was still not going anywhere.
"Steve, something is so wrong with this car! I can't keep up with the lead pack! We need make some huge adjustments on the next stop!" said Simon over the radio
with a bit of frustration in his voice. "Okay. Just hang on for now. We'll keep working on it." said Steve. On lap 72, Earnhardt Jr. was coming to the front. On lap 80,
Alvin came to pit road to begin another round of green-flag pit stops. His Richard Childress Racing teammates, Menard and Burton, pitted with him. But on lap 81, the
first caution of the race came out. Hornish, filling in for the suspended A.J. Allmendinger, cut his tire down and spun in turn 3.
"Trouble in turn 3! Sam Hornish Jr. has spun! Caution is out!" said Adam Alexander as the field slowed down for the first time in the race. "That was the longest
green-flag run I've ever raced in at Daytona." said Jeanette over the radio. "Yeah. Everyone else is pitting." said Jimmy Fenning. Sure enough, everyone on the lead
lap came to pit road. Everyone got tires, fuel, and adjustments. Everyone made their stops and when the stops were complete, the top eight coming off pit road was
Jeanette, Biffle, Edwards, Gordon, Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch, Almirola, and Truex. But as Eleanor left her stall, Dave got sandwiched between her and Gordon, and
when Gordon tried to get past Dave, Eleanor accidently got into Dave, and it sent Dave sliding to a stop, but it also sent him sliding into Brittany's car, almost hitting
one of her crew members and a NASCAR official. No one was hurt in the incident.
"Hey! What was that for?!" asked Brittany angrily over the radio. "Well, I'm sorry!" said Eleanor. "You need to be more careful! You almost caused Dave hit one of my
crew members and a NASCAR official! Are you out of your mind? Yes, you are!" shouted Brittany. "Whatever. Just be quiet." said Eleanor before turning her radio to
where she could hear Kasey Kahne and Kenny Francis. "How dare she say that to me!" said Brittany.
"You okay, Dave?" asked Eleanor over the radio. "Yeah, I'm fine." said Dave. "Okay." said Eleanor. Terry Labonte got the free pass, and Menard, Alvin, and Burton
got the wave around, putting them back on the lead lap after the stops. On lap 86, the green flag was back out and Edwards gave Jeanette such a big push, it sent
Jeanette out front quickly. But as Jeanette got out front, Gordon and Kyle Busch got in front of Biffle and Edwards. Meanwhile, Simon finally got the car to where he
wanted it.
"I think that adjustment may have done the trick, Steve. We'll see how it is at the end." said Simon over the radio. "Yeah. Keep up the good work." said Steve
Addington. But then, on lap 91, Simon had a close call with Bayne and Kurt Busch after the two drivers made contact in turn 2, causing a six-car wreck, and bringing
out the second caution.
"Trouble in turn 2! Kurt Busch and Trevor Bayne are in the wall and Simon gets through! Six-car wreck! Caution is out!" said Adam Alexander as the field slowed
down again. "That was way too close! Nearly gave me a heart attack!" said Simon over the radio. "You okay?" asked Steve Addington. "Yeah, I'm fine, but that was
way close." said Simon. Bayne, Kurt Busch, Bobby Labonte, Almirola, Hamlin, and Montoya were the drivers that were involved in the wreck. Some drivers came to
pit road. Johnson, Simon, Burton, Cassill, Ambrose, and Eleanor came to pit road. Eleanor pitted for repairs to the nose because of the contact she made with Dave
on pit road. On lap 96, the race was back under green and with a strong push off turn 2 and onto the backstretch from Biffle, Jeanette remained in the lead and out
front. Then, four laps later, the race reached lap 100.
"We made it to lap 100, guys!" said Jeanette over the radio excitedly. "Awesome!" said Alvin. "Sweet!" said Simon. "Cool!" said Theodore. "Nice!" said Brittany.
"Wooohooo!" said Eleanor. "Let's go win this race!" said Dave. On lap 102, Jeanette and the whole pack lapped Kurt Busch. On lap 103, Simon was in seventh and
drafting with Earnhardt Jr. On lap 107, Simon gave Earnhardt Jr. such a big push, it not only got Earnhardt Jr. closer to the lead, but it got himself closer to the lead
as well.
"I think it's going to be just fine now, Steve." said Simon over the radio. "Good. Keep up the good work, bud. Stay focused here." said Steve Addington. Theodore,
however, was not happy at all.
"This car is completely junk! J-U-N-K! JUNK! I do not like the way this car is running at all!" said Theodore over the radio with a little frustration in his voice. "I know.
Just hang on. We'll work on it." said Brian Pattie. "Terrible! Absolutely terrible! If I don't get back up to the front pack fast, Truex and I are going to be sitting ducks!"
said Theodore. On lap 116, Jeanette led the field around Hornish, putting him another lap down. He was 10 laps down before he got lapped again. Theodore was now
up to 26th. On lap 124, the third caution came out. Johnson, Gordon, Waltrip, Logano, Elliott, Smith, and Truex wrecked on the frontstretch.
"Trouble on the frontstretch! Seven-car wreck, including Johnson, Gordon, Truex, and Logano! Caution is out!" said Adam Alexander as the field slowed down again.
Five drivers came to pit road to avoid the accident and start pit stops, but pit road had closed. Jeanette, Edwards, Ragan, and Truex drove through pit road without
stopping, but Biffle made a pit stop, drawing him a penalty for pitting while pit road was closed.
"Jimmie, you okay?" asked Eleanor. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine, but I'm out of the race unfortunately. Carry on. You can do it. Get yourself some points." said Jimmie over
the radio. "I will." said Eleanor. Jimmie climbed out of his wrecked #48 Lowe's racecar and walked to the ambulance.
"Sorry Jeanette, but you'll have to work with Carl Edwards for the time being. I drew a penalty for pitting while pit road was closed." said Biffle over the radio. "Ok.
I'll do what I can, Greg." said Jeanette. A couple of laps later, everyone on the lead lap came to pit road for tires, fuel, and adjustments. Everyone made their stops
and when the stops were complete, the top eight coming off pit road was Simon, Kyle Busch, Brittany, Hamlin, Eleanor, Ambrose, Earnhardt Jr., and Dave. Everyone,
except Jeanette, took two tires. Jeanette took four tires. On lap 131, the race was back under green, and with a strong push from Hamlin, Simon was able to get out
front. On lap 133, Theodore moved up in front of Dave to try and move towards the lead. On lap 137, Simon felt good about where he was.
"Glad to finally be leading a race in Daytona!" said Simon over the radio. "Good. Stay focused, bud. Keep up the good work." said Steve Addington. On lap 138, Biffle
found Jeanette.
"Jeanette, pull up in front of me on my mark." said Biffle over the radio. "Got it." said Jeanette. "Ready…NOW!" said Biffle. Then, Jeanette moved up a lane to get re-
hooked up with Biffle. "Now let's go catch my boyfriend!" said Jeanette. Meanwhile, Theodore pulled up beside Eleanor.
"There you are, Theodore! Where have you been?" asked Eleanor. "I was stuck in the back with no one to draft with me." said Theodore over the radio. "I see." said
Eleanor. On lap 140, Biffle was pushing Jeanette.
"Um, Greg? Look who's behind you." said Jeanette over the radio. Biffle looked in his rearview mirror and saw Brittany. "Who is that?" asked Biffle. "That's my sister,
Brittany." said Jeanette. "Keep her behind you. If she gets to me, I'm in trouble." continued Jeanette. On lap 146, the fourth caution came out. Brittany's tough day
continued with a spin in turn 2.
"Trouble in turn 2! Brittany has gone around! Caution is out!" said Adam Alexander as the field slowed down again. "Are you kidding me right now?! First,
Allmendinger gets suspended, then Hornish spins, I have an incident on pit road, and now I spin? THIS IS THE WORST DAY EVER!" shouted Brittany over the radio in
frustration. "Come to the pits, and while the crew works on the car, you calm down for a little bit." said Paul Wolfe. "Sure thing." said Brittany. After Brittany calmed
down, the green flag was back out with 12 laps to go, and with a strong push from Kyle Busch, Simon got out front. But with 11 laps to go, Jeanette moved up in
front of Biffle and then resumed making her move towards the front. With 9 laps to go, Jeanette caught Simon and took back the lead from him. But then, the fifth
caution came out after a huge multi-car wreck erupted on the frontstretch, which collected Theodore in the process!
"Trouble on the frontstretch! Multiple cars involved the Big One! Caution is out!" said Adam Alexander as the field slowed down again. "You okay, Theodore?" asked
Brian Pattie. "I will be as soon as I release my anger and frustration!" said Theodore over the radio with frustration in his voice. "Eleanor got into the back of Hamlin's
car and he got loose, sending him into the path of you and Bayne." said Brian. "That impact really hurt!" said Theodore as he drove to the garage. He parked the car,
shut the engine off, got unbuckled, climbed out, and viciously threw his helmet, HANS device, and gloves into the car in frustration and anger.
"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" growled Theodore angrily as he threw his helmet, HANS device, and gloves into the car. He then walked to the infield care center. The
drivers involved in the incident were Hamlin, Montoya, Bayne, Ambrose, Theodore, Gordon, Kyle Busch, Reutimann, Blaney, Gilliland, Mears, Menard, Ragan, and
Truex. No one was hurt. With five laps to go, Jeanette was the leader, and Simon was second. Then, with 2 laps to go, the race was back under green, and with
strong pushes from Eleanor and Biffle, Simon and Jeanette were side-by-side for the whole lap! But Alvin had hooked up with Burton and was right behind them! Four
of the chipmunks were within striking distance of each other to win in Daytona! Then, the white flag was in the air.
"One lap to go in Daytona! It's anybody's race!" said Adam Alexander as the field took the white flag. As the field went into turn 2, contact from Burton and Eleanor
got both drivers loose, but it allowed Eleanor catch back up to Simon. However, it separated Burton and Alvin. It also allowed Alvin to hook up with Earnhardt Jr. for
one last-ditch effort to try and steal the win. On the backstretch, Eleanor gave Simon such a big push, it put Simon in the lead and he moved down in front of
Jeanette and Biffle! But in turn 3, contact with Jeanette and Biffle made Biffle spin in front of Alvin, causing a huge multi-car wreck, and allowing Simon, Burton, and
Jeanette to race to the checkered flag.
"Huge wreck behind the leaders! Checkered flag is in the air, and Simon Seville is going to win in Daytona!" said Adam as the field took the checkered flag.
"WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! WE WON DAYTONA! JEANETTE AND I SWEPT DAYTONA!" said Simon over the radio excitedly on the cool-down lap. "Awesome job,
Simon. Ow." said Alvin. "Good job, Simon!" said Brittany. "That's my boy!" said Jeanette. "Nice work, Simon!" said Eleanor. "I'm so proud of you, Simon!" said Dave.
"You alright, Alvin?" asked Simon. "I will be." said Alvin before climbing out of his destroyed racecar and walking to Victory Lane to see Simon. Brittany and Jeanette
parked on pit road, climbed out of their cars, and Jeanette went to Victory Lane. Brittany, however, was looking for Eleanor.
"Hey! Come here!" said Brittany when she saw Eleanor. "What?" asked Eleanor. "I'm still fuming about that incident on pit road!" said Brittany angrily. "IT WASN'T MY
FAULT! I'M NOT THE ONE WHO GOT INTO YOU! IT WAS DAVE!" shouted Eleanor angrily. "I don't believe you." growled Brittany before giving Eleanor a shove. Then,
a fight broke out between the two sisters. Brittany and Eleanor wrestled and rolled around in the grass, both trying to land a punch. Alvin saw what was happening.
"Jeanette, I think a fight just broke out." said Alvin, pointing to Brittany and Eleanor. The two chipmunks went to break up the fight.
"Say you're sorry!" said Brittany angrily as the two sisters pulled on each other's hair. "IT WASN'T MY FAULT! I DIDN'T HIT YOU ON PIT ROAD! OW! OW! OW!"
screamed Eleanor. "LIAR! YOU ARE A LIAR!" shouted Brittany. "HEY! KNOCK IT OFF, YOU TWO!" shouted Jeanette before she and Alvin broke up the fight. "She
started it! She pulled my hair!" said Eleanor pointing at Brittany. "I don't care who started it! I'll finish it!" said Jeanette. Alvin grabbed Brittany, helped her up and
led her towards Victory Lane. Meanwhile, Simon had made his way to Victory Lane. He parked the car, shut off the engine, got unbuckled, took off his helmet, HANS
device, and gloves, put on a Mobil 1 Racing hat, climbed out of the car, and then the big celebration began!
"Wooooohoooooo! Yes! Yes! Yes!" said Simon as he was showered in confetti, Coke-Zero and Gatorade. Chris Neville came and interviewed Simon, who was now
covered in confetti.
"Simon, you worked your way to the front and won in Daytona! Congratulations!" said Chris. "Thanks. I just can't thank this team enough. We will be contenders for
the championship this year. I hope Alvin and everyone else in that wreck is okay. That was a nasty wreck." said Simon. "And Alvin's giving you a Gatorade shower!"
said Chris as Alvin wrapped his arm around Simon's neck and dumped some Gatorade on him. "Got you, Simon! Twice in a row!" said Alvin. The two brothers happily
hugged. Theodore came in and hugged Simon. Brittany and Eleanor came in and hugged Simon as well. Dave came in and shared a hug with Simon. Then, Jeanette
ran in and give him a warm kiss on the lips, earning an "Awwwww!" from everyone watching in Victory Lane. Then, Dave and the five other chipmunks went to the
other side of Victory Lane, took out his camera and started taking photos of Simon and the #14 Mobil 1 Racing team.

After an hour and a half of photos and interviews, Dave and the six tired chipmunks went back to the RV with Simon's trophy.
"You are one sneaky guy." said Jeanette. "Oh, am I? Eleanor gave me the push I needed and then I moved down in front of you." said Simon. "You're on in
Talladega." said Jeanette. "Challenge accepted." said Simon. As soon as the six chipmunks were in the RV, they fell asleep on the couch in the RV immediately. Dave
closed the RV doors, started the engine, and then made the long drive home. After the long drive, Dave and the six chipmunks were finally home. While Dave put his
and Simon's trophies in the trophy case in the living room, the six chipmunks took turns taking a shower, brushing their teeth, and putting on their pajamas. Simon
took his warm shower, washing out all the Gatorade and Coke-Zero that he was showered in when in Victory Lane. He put the confetti with his trophy. Dave then
took his shower, brushed his teeth, got into his pajamas, and then everyone was in bed moments later. Everyone said goodnight to each other, Dave turned out the
lights, and then went to bed himself. Simon slept happily in his bunk, happy about his win in Daytona.
Wow! Dave won the Nationwide Series race in Daytona, Brittany had a rough day in Daytona (Allmendinger's suspension, the incident on pit road,
and then the spin late in the race), Simon won the Sprint Cup race in Daytona, and a fight broke out between Brittany and Eleanor! Who will win in
