Chapter 24

Let the Training Begin!

Well it was about that time, after two days of rest after their little confrontation with Vorgin and his cronies and on top of becoming a partner, she needed some time to rest. Her time was up though, it had been three days and while his and her father were out scoping the city for any suspicious activities it was time for her training to begin. What was it going to be like though? Even if she was the daughter of a monster she still only knew how to fight like a human, all those kicks and flips she had seen Alucard and his friends do she didn't know if her body could handle it. Still she couldn't give up, a promise had been made and she intended to keep it.

Something was different as she entered the house. Silence, dead silence surrounded her as the door closed behind her. Not a creak could be heard except for the squeaking of her shoes. Where was everyone? Of course Vlad and her father were out patrolling the city in the shadows while also in search of the punk who kidnapped her and while they were out Ela and Jerel were both of the club so that they could help scope out the city with them in case any suspicious activity popped up. Still his mother should had been home as well as her partner.

"Training starts in five minutes, where are they?" she asked herself as she peeked into each room.

The living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, and all the bedrooms, they were completely void of anybody. Then it hit her, how could she had not figured it out sooner? There was only one other place they could have been. Quickly she ran to the very end of the hall which lead right to where it had all began, the place where they had signed their contract.

"Please be there please be...there?"

What had happened to their backyard in fact where had it gone? There was nothing but an empty black void where their backyard once stood. Their fountain, their lounge chairs, even Lara's little garden was gone as the darkness overtook everything. As the silence began to get to her however a soft voice spoke into her ear before she was pushed out the door.

"Come on in..." it whispered as the door slammed shut.

Strangely enough though hitting the ground didn't hurt as much as it use to but there was no time to rest something had trapped her inside the void while the door behind her locked. With her mind and eyes opened her she scanned the area in hope that she could see what had pushed her when the feeling of two hands began running over her sides.

"Heh such an attractive girl you are little Julie, so sexy and well developed. Do you like my new hideaway? Cozy isn't it? Dark, peaceful, and perfect a lesson in love."

Whatever was touching her it was really starting to piss her off as those invisible hands ran all over her body.

"Hm the warmth of a woman's flesh, the feel of her heartbeat, and the warm embrace she gives to those who deserve it." it hisses as its hands began approaching her nether regions.

That was it, whoever was doing they were dead. Reaching behind her she felt some kind of leather before she gripped it and with one good pull she flung her molester over her shoulder and to the ground. To her shock though it wasn't a stranger.

"Alucard?! What are doing and why were you touching me like that? Do you want to die?" she asked as she gave him a good kick to the side.

"Hm just a little distraction." he replied as he dodged the kick.

What did he mean by it was a distraction? The answer came though in the form of his mother who showed no mercy as she began kicking and swinging in her direction. Confusion filled her head as she tried to dodge every punch and kick but with how fast she was she couldn't dodge them all and before she knew it she was side swiped and sent down to the ground.

"OK what in the hell is going on here? I thought we were training, not just beating up on me."

"Oh we are, class is now in session! Lesson number one, always expect the unexpected."

And right back they went to fighting.

"Wait I thought we were going to work with magic today. Can't we just work with that instead of letting her kill me?" she asked of him as she dodged her high jump kick.

"Fighting today magic tomorrow, don't worry you're doing great!" he cheered her on as he watched on the sidelines.

How was she suppose to keep up with Eva? Every time she had seen her she had always acted so sweet and harmless, guess she judged way too soon. With each punch she felt something inside of her beginning to well up, like a basic instinct to not only combat but to survival as well. It seemed though that as they fought the easier things became. Her kicks were easily blocked by her cross arm guard and her reflexes seemed to had improved as well.

"At a girl Julie, unleash your instincts. Let the power of the monster explode! Never let down your guard not for a second, you may pay a hefty price for it!" he cheered as he ran up and down the side lines so that he could keep track of them both.

"Al I swear I'm gonna kill you after all this!"

"Hey you wanted to train so we're training. Keep up girl you can do it." he replied.

Well if they were training then she was gonna train hard. Once her fist came forward she quickly dodged to the side before she wrapped her hand around the slim wrist of her opponent. Oh she wasn't letting go, once she had the upper hand she never gave it away. Using her increased strength she gave her one good tug until she was forced forward and to finish her off she decided to try something a bit different. Was she going to kick her in the stomach? What about giving her a nice uppercut? Nope, instead she used her elbow to bring her back until she hit the ground.

"How's that for a beat down?" she asked in such a cocky manor he had to just give her a little hand wiggle.

"Not bad sweetie, but you'll need more than that to defeat monsters." said Eva.

In a flash she vanished into a black cloud as the air around them grew colder.

"Come on where is she?" she asked frustratedly.

That was just perfect not only was she stronger but she too knew that annoying teleportation move that Al knew as well. Thanks to that she could appear anywhere and she would have no time to react. Ok, perhaps if she relaxed and focused her senses she could find her. With her eyes closed she opened her ears up to all the surrounding sounds.

"Hm sorry Juls but that isn't going to work." he said as he sat back and watched the action.

"Yeah just watch." she thought to herself.

He was right though, she didn't even see it coming. In mere seconds she felt sharp pain pierce her back as blood began dripping from her chest. It couldn't have happened could it? They wouldn't kill her during training right? It seemed that way though as she looked down to find her hand had passed through her back and out the center of her chest.

"You'll need more than just your ears and eyes in a fight, remember that next time." Eva told her as she pulled her hand straight out.

Something was off though, as she fell forward she caught her balance. There was no pain, it was as if the attack had never happened. Once she regained her composure her eyes looked down at her chest to find that the hole that had been made was gone, even her blood had vanished.

"What is this? I got stabbed through the heart right?" she asked as even more confusion surrounded her.

"Mhm, but this isn't part of the human world. In here we can chop off limbs, tear our organs, and completely destroy each other but even if I say cut off your head after your head falls off the the pain and damage to your body will be reversed. It would be as if nothing had ever happened but you will still remember it." he said as he stood up.

"Ah OK so no matter how much we beat up on each other we'll be fine."

"That's about the gist of it sugar but I wouldn't get too cocky." said Eva as she licked the blood from her hand.

So there was no holding back huh? No pulling any punches, that she liked. Well if they wanted the best from her then she was gonna give it to them.

"Let's go again." she said in a confident tone as she got back into position.

And Eva had no objections to that as they continued on.
