Chapter 24
The clash of metals had the thundering of hooves leading the two women to where the battle was taking place.
"I'll head back to make sure Ji's alright." Sarah stated.
"I'm going to help." Bianca stated, moving forward.
"Bianca!"
The brunette whipped around to face her.
"Be careful."
Thundarus reared with a battle cry and shot off like a rocket towards the fight.
Sarah gave a quiet sigh and pushed her bay forward towards the Shiba home. Now was the time for Ji to know...
Thundarus gave another loud battle cry, sending bolts of lightning down onto battle field below, catching the rangers and moogers attentions. The giant black horse became metal as he charged into the crowd of moogers, head-butting the fish like creatures out of his way. Bianca slashed through the sea of moogers, jumping down from the metal steed to go back-to-back with the red ranger.
"Bianca, what are you doing here?" Jayden ask, slashing at a mooger near his side.
"Thundarus heard the fighting. Sarah's on her way back to the house."
"You should've gone with her."
The young woman rolled her eyes as she flipped across Jayden's back to knock out a surprised mooger.
"I'm fine Jay… Thundarus, REAR!"
The overwhelmed horse reared up and stomped the ground, causing lightning bolts to rain down on the monsters. The team reunited quickly, everyone out of breath. Thundarus shifted into his folding form, hopping onto Bianca's shoulder.
"Man, what's up with the scores of moogers?" Antonio stated.
"That would be for us to know and for you to keep guessing."
The group turned to see Dayu and Florina standing only a few feet away.
"Awww…tired already rangers?" Florina stated.
"Says the one who isn't fighting…" Mike murmured.
"What do you want Dayu?" Kevin started.
"My fight isn't with you…however…Master Xandred is quite interested in your newest addition…"
Bianca felt everyone tense and move closer to circle around her. Thundarus pressed into the side of her neck.
"We need to get you out of here chica." Antonio murmured from behind her.
"Dayu…perhaps we should introduce our newest addition to them?' Florina proposed.
"Let's call her shall we?" Dayu added.
Florina pulled out a white flower with blood red tips from her hair and held it up to Dayu's harmonium. The musician strummed a note, causing the flower to glow a burnt red-orange, both Nighlok smirked.
"What in…" Mia started.
"….Jayden…"
The red ranger turned to see Bianca, clutching at her stomach. His face paled when she looked up to show her eyes flickering orange.
Dayu strummed her instrument again and Bianca clutched at her head with a sharp cry of pain.
"Bianca, what's wrong?!" Emily asked.
"….get away…from me…now!" Bianca tried to get out.
Dayu strummed her harmonium again and Bianca screamed in pain, sending a shockwave of energy from her body which sent the rangers flying. The rangers all skidded to stops to see an orange mist surrounding Bianca, the young woman looking at the ground in a daze.
The two Nighlok moved forward to stand on either side of her: Florina wrapping her arms around Bianca like a mother would a child. Dayu strummed the instrument again as Florina placed the glowing flower into Bianca's hair.
The rangers moved to stop the action but were suddenly surrounded by moogers once more and could only watch helplessly as Bianca passed smooth out into Florina's arms.
"Ta ta Rangers, it's fun but Master Xandred doesn't like to be kept waiting." Dayu stated.
"Bianca!" Jayden cried out, rushing forward through the moogers.
The two Nighlok disappeared with the young woman before he could even get close and the moogers suddenly vanished as well. The five other rangers rushed forward to catch up with Jayden, ranger suits vanishing. The red ranger was frozen in his tracks.
"Jayden…" Mia tried.
"…I lost her…" Jayden murmured.
"We'll get her back amigo. Count on it!" Antonio tried.
"This whole time Bianca's been the target. But how did they get to her, she's been with us the whole time."
"Not always rangers…"
The group looked around at each other in confusion.
"Who said that?" Kevin asked.
"That would be I."
The group turned upon hearing the soft flickering of a noise and eyes widened.
"…no way…" Mike stuttered out in shock.
The giant black horse moved forward until he stood before the rangers with a snort. He pressed his snout against Jayden's held-out hand before facing at the group.
"Come rangers…there is much we need to discuss."
