Hey! Almost forgot it's Wednesday, having a school break this week (yay!) and my sched is whack. Any thoughts on The Ruby Circle. Disclaimer: I did not write the Bloodlines or affiliated characters.

Zoe stays huddled in the corner of the room the entire time we're alone. Marcus is silent, which is fine. Sydney ducks into the room after a few hours and motions for me to follow her out. "What's up Syd?"
"We can get you out of here, but you'll have to use a plane."
"That's fine. Dad is in St. Louis I think."
"Okay. You want to go with her?"
I hesitate before shaking my head. "We've done enough damage."
"Okay. I've…tell her I love her."
"You aren't coming?"
"Something came up. I'm sorry." With that, Sydney leaves.
"We're leaving!" I call into the room. Marcus and Zoe emerge and I offer a smile. "You're going to dad. In St. Louis, right?"
"At the moment? Yes."
I nod and we leave the hospital. We're heading toward the parking lot when a loud siren begins blaring. Cringing, I look around wildly. A dhampir with sandy blonde hair crashes into me and keeps a hold of my shoulders. "Carly Sage?!"
"Yes…why?"
"Strigoi, get inside the hospital with your sister."
"What…I can help!"
The Dhampir hesitates. "You're like Sydney?"
"Yes."
"Then come on. Marcus, get Zoe inside."
"Aye, aye Eddie Melborne." Marcus smirks and all but drags Zoe back inside. Eddie looks back to me.
"Come on and stay with me. Syd would kill me."
"Oh please, your guilt would kill you first." A brown haired dhampir goades.
"Neil! Take her, I need to…"
"Go." Eddie dashes off at Neil's words and I'm left with him. "If you're half as good as your sister, this'll be over before it starts."
"You know Syd?"
"Eddie and I worked a case with her. Eddie posed as her twin."
"They look alike." Neil hums in response. We reach the gates and I resist the urge to shiver. Hundreds of Strigoi are attacking.
"Don't back out once we're outside the gates."
Lighting up my hand I look to Neil. "I won't." Unsurprisingly, Sydney is working with her magic and Adrian with his. I don't spot any other familiar faces though. I'm not sure if it's good or bad. Neil and I turn out to be a pretty good team.

Zoe is even more on edge than she was before the Strigoi arrived, I can easily guess why. The sirens have stopped and I can only thank the world that we're far enough away from the gates so Zoe doesn't have to hear the fighting. "Marcus?" Zoe's voice surprised me.
"Yeah?"
"What happens if they breach?"
"We have dhampirs both inside and outside the hospital. We have Eddie. You like Eddie?"
"He's okay for a creature of evil."
"He's a good Guardian Zoe."
"He's guarding Jill."
"Then let's go to Jill's room." Putting a hand against Zoe's lower back, I guide her through the hospital until we find Eddie. He tenses, then relaxes when he sees it's us.
"What's up Marcus?"
"She's scared." Eddie softens when he hears that and motions inside.
"Jill's in a medical induced coma at the moment. The doctors decide when to wake her…her injuries where extensive. She won't hurt you."
"Thank you." Zoe slips inside the room and shuts the door behind her. I lean against the wall next to Eddie.
"What happened?"
"I was leaving my shift here with Jill. I didn't get very far before the sirens went off to signal an attack."
"Well, guess we better pray they don't breach the walls."
"Guess so."
Duh duh duh. Okay, so I'm totally dragging out the Court visit more than needed, but whatevs. Anyone read either 'The Titan' or 'Welcome to Shadowhunter Academy'? They came out Mon and Tues, they were pretty good. 'The Titan' is NA and WSA is YA (a miniseries about Simon from TMI).
