Christians POV
Okay Grey. Keep it together. You're only telling your whole family a huge secret you've been keeping in for a few years. Fuck! More than a few years! They'll never look at me the same again. I've already been the poor abused boy, I don't want to be that again. Maybe this was a bad idea…I could kill Ana right now for putting this idea into my head.
You need to get your shit together Grey. Something smells, is that me? Shit am I sweating? Christian Grey does not fucking sweat when he is nervous.
Ana can sense the tension in every inch of my body and slowly begins to rub my back in a circular motion. We've been sitting on the sofa in the living room of my parent's house for about half an hour now, making small talk about the randomness things.
Mia is talking to Charlotte about taking her shopping sometime while my parents are asking Noah questions about his book. My parents think that Noah is just one of the new authors at SIP, who has formed a friendship with Ana, they still have no idea what the true reason is for this lunch. Since Elliot isn't here yet, I've decided to wait until I drop the bomb, but I'm not sure I can keep this in for much longer.
Elliot's POV
I haven't spoken to my family much since they found out what I had done to Ana and how I had hurt her, but when Christian called me today and asked if I could join him and the rest of the Grey's for lunch, I couldn't resist. This might be my chance to make amends.
I've been doing everything the court has asked me to, and my Company is actually doing pretty well. That's the good thing about being your own boss, when you get in trouble with the law your sorry ass doesn't automatically get fired.
I've been putting all of my energy into architectural projects, and per Ana's request have not tried to contact her again, not even to apologize. I have no idea what had happened to me a few months ago. I screwed up big time but it seems at least Ana and Christian have found their happiness again. This will probably be awkward as fuck, especially when they tell us they are getting engaged. What else could this family gathering be for anyways? Man up and ring the damn doorbell you coward!
Grace's POV
Oohh that must be Elliot at the door, I'm so glad Christian acted maturely and invited him to this lunch; I hope he is ready to come back to the family. I haven't spoken to him in a while; he pretty much cut all contact with us after Ana's accident.
My poor son was so ashamed of himself that he couldn't even face his own parents. I hope he has come back now for good, and that after Christian and Ana have told us the good news everything will go back to normal.
I could sing because of happiness, knowing these two want to start a family together. Christian has finally found someone he can share the rest of his life with, I just wish they would say it already so that I can go and congratulate them. It is a little odd however that Ana would bring someone from work to this kind of occasion, but I have to admit Charlotte is simply a ray of sunshine. She is such a smart girl and I can see that she has certain strength to her.
I open the door and see my oldest child staring back at me with nervous eyes. Everyone is very nervous today, Christian is also very tense. I can't stop myself when I throw myself at my son. "Oh Elliot I'm so happy you could come today, please don't ever not talk to us again for this long" I whisper, tears welling up in my eyes
He hugs me back more warmly than I would have thought "I'm so so sorry mom" he says bending down a little so that he isn't towering over me anymore. "I promise I won't, I love you so much and I'm really glad to be home"
His words make my heart warm, but when I hear Mia snort and say "what's he doing here? I thought he wasn't coming. If I had known that he was I wouldn't have come myself" the warmth disappears.
Mia had really taken Ana into her heart, and when she found out what Elliot had done she couldn't look him in the eye anymore. "Whatever, I'm going to try and tolerate you, but only for Ana's and Christian's sake. I still can't believe what you did"
I glare at my daughter to which she replies "What just because everyone one else has forgiven him, it doesn't mean that I have"
"Mia grey" I begin when Elliot interrupts me
"It's fine mom don't worry about it" he says kindly.
Mia snorts, narrows her eyes and throws herself down on the sofa, when I think Elliot sees Ana and Christian sitting there as well.
He walks over to them, shakes Christian's hand and awkwardly hugs Ana, who doesn't seem too uncomfortable.
Christian's POV
When Elliot hugs Ana I become even tenser, but decide not to make a scene right now. This day is going to be hard enough on everyone without me making a scene with Elliot. I have to admit its weird seeing them together like this, but I have to focus now on the real reason we are all here today.
Everyone is seated in the living room now, patiently waiting for me and Ana to talk. What are they expecting we are going to say?
Mia is lounging next to Ana, and to my annoyance keeps moving her leg up and down in a restless fashion. "Okay I can't wait anymore….. can't you guys just tell us that you are getting married already!?" she shouts out bubbly, not being able to control herself.
Wait so this is why they think we are here? Well it's understandable I guess, I've been thinking about it too-stop right there Grey! Now's not the right time to think about this its time to come forward and tell the truth.
"Actually Mia, that's not the reason why I asked you all to meet me here today" I say my voice stronger than I thought it would be.
My words have my family disappointed but also curious as to what I'm about to say. "Actually there are two reasons why you are here, the first being that Noah isn't just a new author at SIP" I take a huge breath "he's my biological father and Charlotte is my sister, and please before you start asking a million questions, please just let me finish first."
Although I can see that my family is dying to ask me how this all happened I continue "Noah has been looking for me ever since he found out I existed, which was only shortly before my high school graduation"
"Well why have you only contacted Christian now?" Mia once again blurts out her brows furrowed at Noah. She has a big mouth…just like me.
I let Noah continue "I didn't just contact him now, I was his professor for two years at Harvard, but never told him who I was."
"Well why not?" Fuck Mia let the man talk.
"Mia, you are getting on my nerves now. I know you have question, but please let him continue." I say a little more harshly than I intended. This seems to shut her up however, so mission accomplished.
She rolls her eyes while Noah continues "Look I'm about to tell you something, that will come as a shock to you all, because a close friend of your family, Elena Lincoln, was the one that made sure that I could never got too close to Christian."
I hear my mother gasp and get up very quickly "I hope this is some kind of joke! How dare you come into my house and accuse one of my best friends? What could she have possibly done?"
My father and I get up at the same time to try and calm her down "Mom please, he's telling the truth. Welch has confirmation from police reports that everything he is going to tell you is true. "
My mother's eyes widen at my words "What does the police have to do with anything?"
"The police were involved when Elena made it look like I had tried to rape her. She was going to press charges of sexual assault against me, unless I agreed to leave Christian alone. When I didn't do as she asked and tried to contact your son again, she had someone run over Charlotte with a car, that's why she can't walk anymore" Noah says looking over to Charlotte now, who smiles an encouraging smile at her father to continue.
"How do we know that you aren't making any of this up? Why should we believe you over one of our closest friends?" my father demands going into lawyer mode "What evidence exactly do you have for any of this?"
"If I were lying" Noah begins again "why would Elena not have pressed charges, and why would I have stayed away all of these years? Elena threatened to hurt my family, she did hurt my family!"
"Why would she do that? What was her motive? and why come back now if she threatened your family?" My father demands again.
I know it's my turn again to talk "that actually brings me to the second reason, as to why we are here" I say
My parents eyes are full of confusion, Mia is now sitting with her back straight with an attentive expression on her face, and Elliot has his 'I'm listening face on'.
"Noah came back because he finally isn't afraid of Elena anymore and has some information against her that will make sure she goes to jail for a very long time. She has been molesting young boys for years now, luring them into her home when they are suppose to be doing yard work and then taking advantage of them. She introduces them to her BDSM lifestyle and beats them for her own pleasure." I say my voice cracking a little. As I say this I begin to realize that Ana was right. What happened wasn't my fault, I was the prey and Elena had been the predator.
My mother throws her hand over her mouth breaking out into loud sobs as she has put two and two together "Please Christian, please tell me it isn't true" she stutters trying to get the words out.
For the first time in a long time I take the woman, my guardian angel, my mother into my arms and am the one to comfort her for once. "I'm sorry mom, I didn't know how to tell you all these years"
Grace's POV
My boy, my sweet sweet boy. How can someone take advantage of someone who had already had such terrible years behind him? I told that bitch what had happened to him and how he had some anger problems. I thought she was trying to help when she suggested the job in her garden. Oh this is all my fault! I should have been the one to protect him from this world and the sick people in it, not lead him straight into the arms of a monster.
"Oh Christian I'm sorry this is all my fault" I sob as he hugs me tighter.
"No please don't blame yourself mom, it wasn't your fault, or yours dad" he says looking at my handsome husband, who's pale as a sheet.
"Did you, did you know about this Noah?" she asks, which spikes the interest of my son.
Noah nods slowly "I was able to go back and retrieve even the footage from 13 years ago. Off course the quality wasn't very good but you could still see what was happening…and who it was happening with" he says in a sinister tone. "I just wanted to let Christian come forward with this himself."
Ana's POV
Seeing Grace who has always been so strong and confident break down like this has my heart aching. I can see that Charlotte also has a small tear in her eye, but when I look over at Mia all I can see is rage and disgust.
"I don't fucking care about what you guys have planned to do against her, but I know that punching her until her teeth get knocked out would be a great start" she snarls getting up to walk to the door.
Elliot walks after her and blocks the door so that she can't get through "Get out of my way Elliot, I am not letting that whore get away with this without giving her a black eye" she yells trying to shove Elliot out of the way.
"Sis I would really love to help you, but trust me hurting her physically won't do anything. We need to be smart about this, if they really have all the evidence they need, don't you think it would be more satisfactory to see her behind bars and to not be there with her" I hear him say.
"Speak for yourself" she spits, once again trying to push Elliot away from the door "don't worry I have no problem hurting you to get through this door"
Just as she says the word door, the doorbell rings and everyone freezes as they hear the oh so familiar voice of Elena Lincoln "Grace are you home? I bought some muffins; I thought we could have a chat."
Mia turns around to look at us all, her eyes are narrowed and she has a smile on her face "Oh Elena its Mia, come on in, we'd love to have a chat" she says in the sweetest voice ever.
