Enjoy.

Isabella caught up to Irina and Leah easily, and took the load off their hands. Their journey to the main house was quiet, tense and quiet. Sure enough, Irina still had those folders... it amazed Isabella that she managed to hold onto those the entire time. As they reached the Volturi residence...something was amiss...and it wasn't the turned over half crushed Mercedes with the lights hot and bright on the side of the driveway was the indicator...it was the smell of death, burning death...

Isabella cursed and dropped the heavy beast off to the side and ran around the vehicle and stopped.

"Oh shit...", Leah breathed...

The entire Volturi estate looked like something out of some kind of battle field. There were small fires scattered around the front lawn, the lights were off and the front french doors were smashed in. some of the mansions windows were broken and they saw a fire or two inside the house as well, and if they didn't do something about it soon...the entire manor would be up in flames. There was no signs of life at all, just burning bodies in the front lawn...real human like bodies and not the beasts they were used to seeing.

"Check the bodies, make sure they aren't anyone we know.", Isabella growled out. Irina and Leah nodded, and they all split up to check the area, knowing it wasn't the smartest plan...but it was the fastest.

"Edward!", Alice yelled at him as he drove his Volvo at high speed down the dark road that lead to their home, "We left them! We left her! How can you be so calm about that?!"

Edward shot a rather incredulous look at the shorter woman that was fuming in the passengers seat, "Is that all you worry about? Does it not bother you that you didn't see that attack coming? Or anything else for the past week?"

"Of course it bothers me!", Alice hissed, "But not enough to leave Beth alone back there! What if they needed us, you heard her screaming Edward!"

Edward waved Alice's concerns off with a flick of his wrist, "Oh please. It's the Volturi... no one can hurt the Volturi.", Edward mocked Alice's earlier words from a few days ago when Edward was trying to go spy on Beth and Jane for 'safety' reasons. "They were fine."

"You could have left me.", Alice solemnly said, "I don't appreciate you dragging me around like some rag doll.."

Edward scoffed, "You weren't complaining when I was saving you. A simple thank you would suffice Alice."

"I was in shock Edward."

Edward hummed to himself but said nothing else, they were home and he didn't want the others to hear what they were arguing about but he knew Alice was up to something when she started reciting old Shakespeare stories. Edward pulled up in front of the porch and turned to his 'sister', sighing deeply. "Alice-"

"Don't. You claimed to love her Edward...but what you did tonight was anything but love.", Alice was out of the car and inside the house before Edward could even think to stop her.

When Alice entered the living room, everyone had stopped what they were doing and looked at her. Alice was tense and Jasper was quickly at her side and rubbing her upper arms, pushing her into a relaxed state of mind but her anger towards Edward overrode Jasper's empath abilities. "Baby what's wrong? How did everything go at Beth's?"

Alice rolled her eyes and pointed at Edward who came in a few seconds later normally, "Ask him."

Carlisle sighed and looked at his son expectantly, "Son? Whats going on, did everything go okay? Did Jane attack you again?"

Edward shook his head, shoving his hands into his pockets. "No, Beth dumped me for Jane though."

"Big surprise.", Rosalie scoffed, picking up another magazine as if it were more important than Edwards issues...which in her mind, it was and she made sure Edward heard it all.

"Rosalie!", Esme chided with a light glare, "You know how much he liked Beth, show a little sympathy."

"Yeah he liked her.", Rosalie shot back, eyes still focused on the article in front of her, "but he didn't love her...they weren't mates. And if Jane hadn't come along, we'd all be in a shit situation because of him."

"I was handling it!", Edward growled, glaring at the blonde but his view of her was blocked by Emmett.

"Hey cool it man, Rosie is right though...you should be thankful instead of goin' all emo bro!"

"I don't know why he's so sad! He left Beth to die."

"Alice?", Carlisle looked confused not sure if he heard what just came out of Alice's mouth right, "what do you mean left Beth to die? What does that mean?"

"It doesn't mean anything Carlisle, Alice is just being dramatic.", Edward said through gritted teeth and glaring at Alice from behind Carlisle's back and ignoring Jasper's warning growl.

"After Beth basically dumped him in front of Jane Leah Irina and Isabella... Edward said some pretty rude things to her and Jane was about to tell Beth the truth about us being vampires before those...those things jumped into the house and attacked us."

Esme gasped, covering her open mouth with her hand. "Oh my goodness!"

Even Rosalie set her magazine down on her lap and stared at the two in shock as if she were surprised to see them alive, "Oh stop being such a bitch Rose!", Edward quipped at her, not pleased at her less than spectacular thoughts aimed at him. "I was only trying to protect my family and Beth made it clear she was through with us until her little phase with Jane ran it's course."

"So you just left her?!", Emmett's eyes were comically wide, "Are you out of your mind! She could've been hurt or something!"

"Yes son, I have to agree with Emmett...leaving Beth wasn't the wisest decision, Volturi or not. She was in-"

"She needs to learn her lesson Carlisle.", Edward snarled at his father figure, then turned on his heel and went upstairs to his room and slammed the door shut leaving everyone in the sitting room stunned.

"She needs to learn her lesson?", Rosalie repeated incredulously, "She may have been a fool under his spell but that's taking it too far. Carlisle! Esme! You're not going to let him get away with that are you?"

Carlisle sighed and looked up at the ceiling briefly, "I'm sure Beth is fine Rosalie...let's just be thankful that Alice and Edward are safe with us once more."

"Edward has you wrapped around his little finger", Alice stated with a dry laugh and shaking her head, "The wolves were right not to come to us for help."

"Alice, honey, what are you talking about?", Esme asked, truly confused but the others weren't...they knew exactly what Alice was getting at.

Alice didn't say anything but she turned around in Jaspers arms and looked up at her husband, into her soul mates yellow eyes. "Are you with me?"

"I am.", Jasper didn't even hesitate with his didn't know what Alice was up to but he wasn't going to let her do it alone.

"Alice, where are you doing?", Rosalie asked as she slowly Rose from her seat on the sofa.

Jasper opened the front door, and waited patiently for Alice. Alice looked at Rosalie with a smile but it wasn't the usual smile Alice gives her that is full of joy. That smile hasn't been present in days., "I don't know Rose, but it just feels right. Maybe you'll feel this way soon...but I'm starting to realize my time as a Cullen is numbered. I love you...all of you."

Alice and Jasper were gone before anyone could come out of their shock and protest or try and stop them. Rosalie and Emmett looked at each other...wondering if Alice was onto something but both kept those thoughts under Edwards radar in case he was listening in.

Isabella sat in the middle of the dark living room with her head in her hands, the entire house was destroyed and it was a wonder as to how it was still standing. There was glass and plaster all of the floor, holes in the walls and craters in the floors. Everything was turned over as if the place had been raided and something was being looked for but they didn't know what. The kitchen was completely destroyed, and it had a busted water pipe that was making everything even sadder than it needed to be. She found the heads of Felix and Athenodora in the back yard near the lake but she couldn't find their bodies...well she did but they were in pieces as well. Leah confirmed the bodies in the front yard belonged to some of the missing pack mates and the others were just unknowns. Irina and Leah were still searching the area for any sign of life, so Isabella sucked in a sharp breath and pulled out her phone.

Sulpicia picked up on the second ring, "Well it's about time! Didyme and Athena aren't answering their phones, what's going on down there Isabella?"

Isabella stood and started pacing the living room, breaking more glass under her boots and kicked broken statue pieces out of her way because she was too tired to pick up her feet. "It's bad Sulpicia. Very very bad."

"Don't play word games with me Colonel, what is going on?!"

Isabella could hear the worry in Sulpicia's tone and she couldn't but feel dread and guilt knowing what she was about to say next would drive the Queen and most likely the only one left, over the edge. She didn't know how to say it, so she went for direct and formal. "Athena and Felix are dead Sulpicia and Heidi and Didyme are still unaccounted for. We found some of the missing wolves, they were found burning in the front yard upon arrival, and several unknowns. We are assuming it was the humans that were taken and experimented on. Seeing as everyone was in their human form, it's safe to assume these things can shift.

The Volturi manor is unstable and", Isabella paused to take a deep breath, stopping her pacing and staring down at her boots, "And we were attacked by decoys as this attack happened...but we did find a lead...but that's all it is for now."

Sulpicia hadn't said anything or even made a noise, but Isabella knew the woman was still there...she didn't hear the disconnect click but she figured the older vampire was in an extreme state of shock. It was a few moments until Sulpicia cleared her throat and coughed. "I...I see. Thank you Colonel...what who all do you have left with you there?"

"Just Jane... Jane, the wolves and my mate. They picked us off Sulpicia...and succeeded."

"I see.", Sulpicia repeated but her tone was dry, and almost as if she wasn't processing any of the information Isabella was giving her at all. "Colonel, you are the highest ranked Volturi there now. Do you understand?"

"I think so..."

"I can't leave this castle, I have to assume I am the last Queen left and I must not leave this castle...not now. I need you to be my eyes and ears now, do you understand me?"

"I am starting to."

"Good...I trust you to down there. You and Jane are the only Volturi members left there...I expect daily check ins from you both. I want status reports, I want everything."

Isabella could detect the fear and sorrow behind the head Queens strong facade and it made her want to cry because felt as if she failed her...as she failed everyone. "Yes."

Sulpicia paused, "Man up Isabella. This isn't your fault..regroup this weekend and get your heads together. Got me?"

"I got you."

"Good. Speak to you soon.", click.

Isabella let her hand drop to her side and she dropped her head, and just stood there. She heard Irina come in before she was wrapped up in the vampires scent and strong embrace, Isabella just let go then...and somehow, Irina was able to support her mates weight.

Jane had taken Beth to an ice cream shop that stayed open 24 hours, which was weird but no one questioned it. She was carefully eying the street and everyone that walked by, listening and subtly sniffing for any signs of abnormality. If she were being honest with herself, Jane just couldn't bring herself to talk to Beth yet...or even look at her. She didn't want to see the fear and the rejection she was sure she would've found in the humans girls eyes...before she put it into words.

Though if Jane had been paying any attention to Beth, she would have noticed that her ice cream was melted and barely even touched, and that Beth was watching her closely. Beth pushed the ice cream cup aside and took one of Jane's cold hands in both her warm ones. Jane's eyes fluttered a moment, but she didn't look...she wouldn't admit it out loud, but she was afraid to.

"Jane" Beth sighed, "Please look at me."

Jane reluctantly did so, and was shocked when she didn't see any sort of...aversion on Beth's features, only confusion and something else she couldn't pinpoint. Jane tried to take her hand back but Beth wouldn't let go, she only held on tighter...and not wishing to hurt her, Jane just let it be. "I'm sorry Beth, I really am...about your house...and well everything."

"What's going on Jane? I-I-I mean... Jesus, what the hell just happened? You can't just put me through that and—and—and then take me for ice cream!"

Jane took note that Beth was starting to become a bit hysterical and was getting louder, so she quickly moved from her seat to the one that was right next to Beth's. "Okay okay, ssh! I'm sorry...I just figured you'd be hungry after all of that...we can talk here, or go somewhere private...you know if you trust me enough?"

Beth didn't say anything for a moment, and Jane was starting to fear the worst again but those doubtful thoughts were sent away when Beth reached over and kissed her cheek. "Jane...I trust you."

Jane couldn't help but smile, "Good...good, that's great.. are you ready? It's a long story."

"My dad won't be home until morning...we have a few hours before he gets back...and freaks out."

Jane smiled and stood along with Beth. They walked back to the Lexus that was parked on the curb, hand in hand.

"Someone is coming", Leah said from her corner in the living room, as if she were just commenting on the weather. They had recently just got the power back on, and were trying to clean up the mess inside the house. They had already disposed of the bodies from the lawn and into the bottom of the lake in the backyard. "Vampires."

Isabella nodded and set the broom aside, she smelled them and heard the purring engine approaching long before Leah said anything. Isabella's mind was on Jane and Beth, wondering if they were okay but given what they had stored away in the freezer in the basement...she knew they were okay, and she didn't want to interrupt whatever they were doing. Isabella walked out of the house and stood on the porch with Leah and Irina flanking her, and they all watched as the bright yellow Porsche crept up the drive before stopping a few feet from the garage. The shorter vampire from earlier got out of the drivers seat and the crazy looking blonde male they've seen on occasion came around to join his wife. They both looked tensed, looking around and wondering what the hell happened.

"Oh great", Leah crossed her arms and leaned back on the chipped door frame, "20 bucks they were attacked too."

"or come with threats.", Isabella shot back under her breath despite knowing the two newcomers could hear her just fine. They shook on it.

"Or neither. Be nice." Irina gave them both warning looks before stepping off the porch to greet Alice and Jasper.

Alice smiled at Irina though it seemed a little forced and showed how nervous she was, even Jasper was doing his best to help his wife calm down. "Hi Irina. How are you?"

Irina waved her hand off towards the front yard, "Alice now really isn't the best time for whatever it is that you guys want...so just get on with it. Please."

"We haven't been attacked, or come with threats. We came to apologize.", Jasper smiled, hoping to ease away the hostility he could feel coming from the two beings standing on the porch.

"We owe her 40 bucks", Isabella chuckled, shaking her head.

"Christ", Leah groaned and went back inside. She wasn't interested in hearing anything else.

Isabella jumped off the porch and joined her mate, startling the other two vampires a bit. "Look what do you two want? We don't exactly have time for...whatever."

Alice and Jasper looked at each other, not exactly sure how to go about it. "Well", Jasper started looking back at Isabella and Irina, "We just wanna help y'all...we are tired of sittin' on the sidelines and just worryin' about ourselves."

"With or without the rest of our family, you have our help."

"We didn't ask for your help.", Isabella frowned and crossing her arms across her chest as Irina hugged her around her waist. "We don't exactly need or want it either."

"I think you're wrong.", Alice smiled rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet, "In fact...I think you all could use all the help you can get right now."

"Don't do it.", Leah said from somewhere inside the broken house.

"Babe", Irina looked up at her mate, "Be nice. Please?"

Bella took a deep breath and let it out as a loud groan, and letting her head fall back. "Fine."

"Whipped."

Alice hugged Jasper, a wide and genuine smile on her face...a smile he hasn't seen since all of this has started. Irina smiled and let go of Bella to give Alice a hug while Jasper held out his hand to Bella as a sign of truce but his hand went ignored by the dragon and she went back inside.

Irina gave them an apologetic look as she pulled away from Alice, "Don't take it personal, she's going through a lot at the moment."

Jasper nodded, "I understand...so is there anything we can do to help y'all here?"

"Yeah there is.", Leah called from the second floor balcony, looking down at them as she leaned over the rail. "Leave."

Irina rolled her eyes, this was going to be a very long weekend...she just knew it.

I stayed up really late to write this one, I didn't wanna lose the scene that was playing in my head...most of it came to me in a dream and I went back and wrote it in the original chapter, which was short than this one. so, it has a few mistakes I bet but if I catch them I will fix them.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter, it was long and things happened.

Review, I would really love to know your thoughts on this one! please and thank you!
