The team and Amber took the trip back to their hotel rooms and gathered their things. They checked out and piled into the SUVs to get to the airport. Amber was silent the ride to the airport and in the jet. They headed back to the BAU, Amber still had not said a word. She didn't touch Spencer the whole time. Which was painful, because she had been aching for his touch for days.
Morgan dropped off the two of them at home once he and the team got back to the BAU. The two waved good bye to Morgan as they headed into the apartment building. Amber and Spencer headed into the building, they walked up the steps and saw boxes outside of the apartment next to theirs. A man walked out of the apartment and smiled at them.
"Hi, I'm Jared, but you can call me Jay." He said as he held his hand out for them to shake.
"Hi Jay, nice to meet you," Amber said as she quickly shook his hand. The hallway was dark, so Jay must not have noticed Amber's bruises and scars.
Spencer dung into his pocket and pulled out the key to unlock their apartment. "We won't keep you from unpacking," Spencer said as he unlocked the apartment. "We'll see you around." Spencer said then quickly entered the apartment.
"Bye," Amber said. Jay half smiled at her and put a hand up to say 'bye' back. Amber entered the apartment and locked the door behind her. "What the hell was that Spence?" She asked.
Spencer sighed as he set down his bag, "Aren't you tired Amber?" he asked.
"You're changing the subject," Amber responded. "Why were you so rude to him?"
Spencer pursed his lips together. "Because, I'm finding it harder and harder to trust people."
Amber stared at Spencer. "Why?" She asked, confused at Spencer's lack of
Spencer wanted more then anything to go back in time and have Prentiss & JJ go with her to the bathroom. He wasn't thinking that night, he was thinking about how beautiful she looked; with her long dark hair over her shoulder, her eyes sparkled and how her dress hugged her curves. "Because, what if he's just like Matt. Some random person that we meet that ends up hurting you." Spencer stopped and realized that he was unfamiliar with this feeling. He was being overprotective, but was that a bad thing? When he wasn't and let his guard down she was taken from him. Spencer sighed,"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been rude to him. I know I've been distant since we found you," Spencer said as he walked over to Amber. He tilted her chin up with the side of his index finger. "I've just...I think this hit me more than I imagined," he whispered as he looked into her eyes. They were shining, twinkling like stars in the sky. Her eyes were searching in his. Amber felt an overwhelming need to jump on him, but, she restrained herself. Her breath was caught in her throat, her heart was beating in her ears, she felt like she was falling in love with him all over again.
Spencer lightly traced her skin with his finger tips. It gave Amber chills. "Spencer," she thought would come out as a whisper but came out as a quiet moan. "I've missed you," She then licked her lips as she looked back up into Spencer's big brown eyes.
Spencer smiled at her, "I've missed you too," he whispered then pulled her into a hug.
The next morning Amber sat up in their bed. She looked over next to her and the bed was empty. Amber sighed as she ran her hands through her hair. She looked at the clock and jumped out of bed, she was going to be late for work. She leapt into the bathroom and quickly got ready, she pulled her hair up into a ponytail, washed her face, put her contacts in,and finished her the rest of her routine. Once finished, she went back into the bedroom and searched for her clothes. She succuried to put them on as she headed out the bedroom door and into the living room. She grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. She walked over to the door and slipped her shoes on, she grabbed her keys and opened the door. She walked out and shut the door behind her, she quickly turned and she ran into someone.
"I'm so sorry," She quickly said as she looked up into the eyes of the person she ran into. "Luke, what are you doing here?" She asked.
"My friend just moved into the apartment next to you," He said. "Where are you off to?" Luke asked.
"To work," Amber said.
"Ah," Luke replied. "How...um how was your vacation?" Luke asked as his eyes darted from bruise to bruise. He grabbed her arm to get a better look. Luke looked up at Amber, pain set deep in his eyes. "Amber, is…..is your boyfriend doing this to you?"
"No," Amber said with a stern tone. "it isn't like that, listen I have to go. I'm going to be late," She said as she tried to break from his grip but it didn't work, his grip got tighter.
"If he's doing this tell me," Luke demanded.
"He's not hurting me," Amber shouted as she looked Luke in the eyes. She pulled from his grip, and rushed down the steps. Amber opened the doors from the building and walked out into the street.
Her whole shift she stayed covered up with a hoodie she left in her locker. She was glad she did. On her lunch she went to the Cafe next door, she got a smoothie and a sandwich. She sat down at a table near the window and enjoyed her lunch. As she did so, her phone vibrated. She looked over at it and it was a text from Rossi.
Time:12:05pm
From:Rossi
I hope you and Spencer are still coming over today. I'm having the rest of the team over for dinner and wine.
Oh crap, Amber thought, I totally forgot about that. Amber picked up her phone and texted Rossi back.
Time:12:08pm
To:Rossi
Yeah, we will be there. I can't wait. Isn't Spencer there?
She hit send and took a sip of her smoothie. Just then her phone started to vibrate like crazy. Amber looked at the phone and it said ROSSI CALLING. Amber quickly picked up the phone and answered it.
"Hi…." Amber trailed off. A bit confused as to what was happening.
"Hey, Spencer never came in today."
"What?" Amber replied. "That's not like him."
"We know, but he seemed pretty upset about letting you get hurt." Rossi said.
Amber sighed, she couldn't get why he was blaming himself. It wasn't his fault, if it was anyone's fault it was her own. Going to the bathroom without a friend, that is in the girl code handbook, and it's a huge no-no for that reason. "I just don't get where he could be. He was gone when I woke up this don't think he's hurt do you? Did you guys try calling him?"
"Yeah, we've called him about twenty times, we didn't have a case today, just busy work. Why don't you head up here, after work of course." Rossi said.
"Alright," Amber said slowly. She was suspicious that something was going on. "Yeah, I'll be up there after work." She agreed.
"See you then," Rossi said and hung up.
Amber sent her phone down next her her plate on the table and continued her lunch. Although she was tempted to stop eating, No, she thought to herself. Not eating won't help.
After work, Amber quickly went home and changed her clothes. She put on clean clothes and headed out the door. Amber headed to the subway, and as she walked, the warm sun hit her face, giving her a feeling of security. She arrived at the station and got on the subway headed to Quantico.

A/N-I know, this took way way way too long. With finals towards the beginning of May and vacation that I just returned from, I haven't had much time to write, but now that it's summer I will have plenty of time. I have so many ideas for this story, and I want to make sure I'm putting the right ideas together.
