Chapter 25: Entropy

Lex, Gavin and Tracy help Robert and Andrea bring Anita to the lab. Lekki, L'Hopital, and Prince work on treating Anita while the others catch up.

"So where's your brother?", asks Dr. Malcolm.

"He's getting Dr. Jackson who somehow had a run in with a Carnotaur", replies Lex.

Robert looks confused, "What are you talking about a Carnotaurus? I don't recall InGen ever issuing those on Site A. Unless…you didn't move the one from the Cretaceous Period."

Dr. Wu states, "It was going to happen right after the president of InGen gave the order, but the issue with the park had to be given more attention".

"This doesn't explain how Dr. Jackson is even near it".

"He must have opened it and we saw his tire tracks leading to the paddock, but it was closed", adds Malcolm.

"I don't believe this, where are those two now?" asks Robert. Lex contacts Tim's radio but no response is going through. She tries changing channels but nothing goes through. Then, she decides to contact Dr. Jackson.

"Dr. Jackson are you there? Is Tim with you? Over". There's static.

"Dr. Jackson, please answer! Over". The static continues.

"Dr. Jackson-", Lex is interrupted with a loud noise, and Dr. Jackson's voice" Your brother's dead. The Carnotaur killed him but I have his body. I'm trying to hold it off. See u in the plaza soon"

Lex drops the radio and starts sobbing. Robert slams his fists on a desk.

Andrea hesitates, "How are we going to take care of the situation?"

Robert then states, "We need backup and not just any kind of backup. We need the one thing that has survived after all this time."

Lex cries, "No! You don't mean the Tyrannosaur!"

Robert, "I believe I am".

Dr. Wu then states, "We can't risk having the rex escaping its enclosure, it's just been built"

"Then what do you propose we use?", asks Robert, giving up hope.

"What about the giga?" suggests Andrea.

"The giganotosaur?", asks Dr. Wu, "Now that's not a bad idea."

"Alright then, we need to act quickly and give Dr. Jackson a taste of his own medicine".

Dr. Malcolm suggests Andrea and Robert to go because of their experience with the animal and their agility on the terrain. Lex then adds, "I'm coming with you. I need to…for my brother".Robert, Andrea, and Lex pack up, start their motorbikes, and ride off to the southern part of the island, where the giganotosaur is roaming.

Ralph continues to drive around the jungle while the Carnotaur persists in pursuing him. He hears a tied up Tim, waking up.

"It won't be long now. I've ordered the helicopters to get us before the others do. InGen is going to have a literal run for its money when this park becomes a mess". Tim struggles to move, but the speed of the vehicle and the terrain rocks him towards the back of the truck.

Ralph in his panicking mood laughs and asks, "Everything alright back there?" He hears Tim's groaning and Ralph says, "Good to hear. It won't be long".

Meanwhile, Robert, Andrea, and Lex use their InGen patented Dinosaur tracking devices to locate their predator. When they arrive at the location of the damaged fence, the trio find no sign of movement. The air is still. The world seems quiet.

Lex asks, "Why is it not showing itself? It clearly has a path outside of the enclosure".

Andrea wonders, "Anybody up for bait?" Next thing Andrea knows is she is that bait, standing in the open field of the paddock.

Andrea then starts shouting, "Oh, big scary dinosaur! There's a snack waiting for you!"

Andrea looks around at the open field and trees in the enclosure and back at Robert and Lex. There's no sign of movement.

Robert shouts, "You need to make more noise!" Andrea is unsure of what to do aside from shouting and she starts singing out loud and clapping, "Oh, It's a Jurassic World after all, It's a Jurassic World After All, it's a Jurassic World after all, A Jurassic World for all!"

Andrea feels the ground shaking for a moment and then the paddock becomes quiet again.

Lex shouts, "Keep singing! It's working!"

"So the giga likes a good tune, alright! It's a Jurassic World After all, It's a Jurassic World After All", Andrea stops singing when she loses her balance. Robert and Lex feel the ground shaking, but notice two black masses speeding around Andrea.

"Andrea, get out of there! Raptors!", yells Robert as he runs toward Andrea. But as he runs toward her, Robert is pinned down on his back by two feet with sharp claws. He looks up and sees the jaws of the velociraptor opening wide. Then, the animal falls to his side and he gets up seeing that Lex is with a weapon by the opening of the paddock while Andrea is in the jaws of the giganotosaur.

"Andrea! NO!", shouts Robert. Lex's next instinct is to shoot at the Giganotosaur's body and the animal cries in pain and inadvertently throws Andrea's unconscious body into the forest. The Giganotosaur has Robert and Lex's full attention getting ready to charge at them.

"Run Robert!", yells Lex to her grief-stricken colleague. Lex powers up her motorbike and Robert jumps onto his, turning it on. The two drive around the paddock while the Giganotosaur runs at full speed. Lex with one hand reaches for her radio and calls in the visitor center team.

Dr. Wu and Dr. Malcolm watch the digital map of the island in the control room showing the animal's movements. Then, they hear a buzzing sound and see their radio screen glowing green.

"Visitor Center team. Over." They hear Lex's voice and a vibrating.

"We're coming to the plaza. It's on our tails but-", the voice is cut off after a dolphin-like screech.

Dr. Malcolm says into the radio, "Lex! Lex! Come in!" But there's nothing but static.

Dr. Malcolm turns around and looks at the team behind him.

"All right, you heard her! We've got to get the plaza stat."

Lex's left arm is covered in blood after a run in with the final velociraptor, causing her to sacrifice the radio while still riding away alongside Robert from the restless Giganotosaur.

Robert asks her, "Are you alright?"

"Never better! I'm being chased by a giant monster, and getting my arm nearly bitten off on a motorcycle! I've never felt so alive!"

"Do you need to rest"

"Don't mind me. We need to find that son of a female raptor and get justice!"

"Alright. We're almost there" The pursuing footsteps of the Giganotosaur continue to shake the ground as it nears its prey on wheels.
