There are some death eaters mentioned in this chapter, but I couldn't find the first names for quite a few of them, so I just made them up. If you know what they are, let me know and I shall change them
Rated M for a reason.
CHAPTER 25-
After a week, the full effects of the charm had worn off and I was back on top form, not skipping out on any of my classes, attending quidditch practice and making sure that Izzy was okay. She was still upset by what had happened and was clinging to me like her life depended on it. Whenever she couldn't see me in a crowd of people, I knew that she would immediately worry and her eyes would fill with tears, but I would be by her side in an instant and pull her into a hug, ensuring that she would never be without me again.
As for Pansy and Ron, they had their wands confiscated and were only allowed to be used in any class that taught practical magic, as well as having to be flooed home at the end of every day and flooed back in the morning to minimise any more mental damage that they could inflict upon the student population of Hogwarts. Theo, as annoyed as I am with him, at least had a reason for doing what he did, and it wasn't just born out of blind jealousy. His wand had also been confiscated, but due to Izzy's pleading with Professor McGonagall, he stayed at Hogwarts during the night, and ended up sitting with me and the others at the Slytherin table most meal times.
The following Monday morning, after I had collected Izzy from Gryffindor Tower, we went down to the Great Hall for breakfast and found the room in disarray, much like it had been just after New Year, when the news of a group of death eaters had escaped Azkaban was the front page headline for The Daily Prophet. Izzy and I hotfooted it over to the Slytherin table, Blaise handing me a copy of the newspaper.
ESCAPED DEATH EATERS BREAK INTO GRINGOTTS
I skimmed the article with Izzy looking over my shoulder, gulping as it listed the death eaters that had escaped.
The Ministry of Magic have now released a full list of the escaped death eaters. They are as follows:
Rodolphus Lestrange
Lucius Malfoy
Amycus Carrow
Antonin Dolohov
Walden McNair
Thorfinn Rowle
Holman Yaxley
Riordan Jugson and
Augustus Rockwood.
Izzy rested a hand on my shoulder and I gave the paper back to Blaise, staring at the food on the table and tasting bile in my throat. Why hadn't I been sent something to tell me that he had escaped? I groaned and rested my head against the table. This hadn't been something I ever wanted to wake up to.
'Why on earth were they attacking Gringotts?' Theo asked.
'I'm guessing that they needed money.'
'But they've been out of Azkaban since January. Surely someone was looking after them or they would have had to break into Gringotts as soon as the left Azkaban.' I looked up at Theo, who was talking sense for the first time in his life.
'Excellent point.' Theo smiled at me before digging back into his breakfast. I grabbed the paper off Blaise and read the article properly now, smiling when I came across what I was looking for. 'It says that ten men broke into Gringotts.'
'And your point is?'
'Only nine death eaters are listed. Theo's right. There's someone helping them.'
Izzy sighed and twirled a curl around her finger. 'But who? The other free death eaters defected before the end of the war.' I shrugged in response.
'I'm not sure. It could be anybody.' I didn't speak for the rest of breakfast, too busy concentrating on trying not to throw up as well as wondering why the hell anyone would need to break my father and his "best friends" out of Azkaban. There was no way that they could raise Voldemort, not now that all of the horcruxes had been destroyed. What were they trying to achieve exactly?
Before I had any more time to contemplate their motives, Izzy pulled me up and we walked to the dungeons together. We had a free period, and since we hadn't finished our potion due to the stupid memory charm, Slughorn had given us an extension on our assignment. The dungeons were empty when we arrived, save for Slughorn sat at his desk.
'Good morning, you two. My next class starts at quarter past ten, so you need the potion finished by then or you'll have to come back at lunch.' We nodded and got out the equipment needed, but I was more than a hindrance than a help. My mind was completely focused on my father and where he could be right now, rather than on the potion. After I nearly added an extra drop of moon dew, Izzy made me sit down.
'Draco, you've done enough for the potion. I'll finish it off.'
'And what am I supposed to do in the mean time?'
'Sit there and look charming.' She winked at me and turned back to the cauldron, but I wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her onto my knee. 'I need to finish the potion.'
'So?' I ran my hands up and down her sides and she groaned, resting her head in the crook of my neck.
'You can do that later.' I raised my eyebrows and she smiled. 'I spoke to Blaise yesterday. He said that I'm allowed to spend the night with you in the dungeons tonight.' I grinned and kissed her, but she pulled away sooner than I wanted. 'You can do that later.' She got up from my lap and finished the memory restoring potion, pouring the burnt orange coloured liquid into three vials that we took up to Slughorn's desk who inspected the liquid thoroughly and handed us each one of the vials and stowed another away in his desk drawer.
'Another splendid job, you two. Not that I expected anything less. You both have achieved an O for the practical section of potions. Clean up and you may go.' We both smiled and cleaned away the cauldron and the spare ingredients, about to leave together when Slughorn called me back.
'What does he want?' I shrugged and opened the door for Izzy.
'Not sure. Wait for me outside.' She nodded reluctantly and I entered the room again, walking back up to the desk. 'What did you need, Professor?'
The older man removed his glasses and rubbed his eyes, clearly tired. 'How are you feeling in regards to the front page of today's Prophet?'
I bit my lip and felt my shoulders droop. 'Mixed. I'm angry that Azkaban couldn't keep such high profile death eaters inside their walls, I want to know what they're going to do now they're out and… I'm anxious.'
'About what exactly?'
I turned around and sat on the nearest desk. 'I really don't want to see my father again.'
'Do you think that he escaped just so he could see you again?'
'I hope not. He would be unwelcome.'
'What if he apologises to you for everything that he's done?'
I looked up at my head of house and shook my head. 'He's a filthy liar. I wouldn't trust him even if I used legilimency.'
Slughorn nodded and placed his glasses back on his nose. 'Alright. Well, if you need anything, don't hesitate to come and talk to me.' I thanked him and left the room, Izzy waiting for me outside.
'What did he want? Is everything okay?'
'Yeah, he just wanted to talk to me about my father, that's all.' She nodded and took my hand.
'Are you okay?' I nodded and gave her fingers a squeeze to reassure her. 'Good, because we were going to herbology anyway.'
That evening after dinner, Izzy and I got changed into our pyjamas and I drew the curtains around my bed, placing a silencing charm on us so the other lads in the dormitory wouldn't hear us. Izzy still wore the diamond star that I had bought for her, now noticing that she wore it when she slept. It made me angry to think about what her dad had done to her necklace. As I stared at the star longer, my thoughts drifted back to the escaped death eaters. Mr Zabini had been a death eater and obviously still knew dark magic. Could he be involved in all of this? Did the injured centaur that had spoken both mine and my Izzy's fathers' names having something to do with this?
'What are you thinking about, Draco?'
I looked into Izzy's eyes, smiling at their gorgeous colour. 'Just about my father.'
'I know that it might be hard, but try not to think about him.'
'Alright, Princess.'
She smiled and kissed my cheek. 'I've missed you calling me that.'
'I've missed you. I've missed all of you.' I placed my knees either side of her waist and kissed her, holding her hands down on the mattress so she couldn't move away when she had decided that she'd had enough. It had been so long since I kissed her like this, and I wanted to see her panting, chest heaving, lips swollen, knowing that I was the only one that had ever made her feel like this, the only on to ever touch her, caress her, kiss her.
Izzy moaned and moved her hips upwards to meet mine, desperately trying to move her hands desperate to touch me but nowhere near strong enough to get me stop holding her down. I moved my lips across her jaw and down her neck, sucking at the juncture between her neck and shoulder. She groaned and lifted her hips again.
'Draco… Let me touch you…'
I smirked and undid the first four buttons of her night shirt with my teeth. 'Not a chance. I'm showing you what you've been missing.' She laughed but it was cut short when I pulled one of her nipples into my mouth. She threw her head back and I swirled my tongue around the rose coloured nub, Izzy now practically thrashing around in my bed, wanting to touch me. I let go of her wrists and her hands instantly went to my head, making sure that I carried on giving her what she wanted. When her moans turned into quiet sighs, I sat up and rebuttoned her night shirt, watching as Izzy's eyelids kept on fluttering as she tried to stay awake.
'You're right. I did miss you.'
I smirked and kissed her once more, proud of the swollen lips that I had given her. 'Of course I'm right. Anyway, you need some sleep before I wake you up in two hours to do something else to you.'
Her eyes widened before she snuggled into my side, wrapping her arms tightly around me, making sure that I wasn't going to slip through her fingers like I had done last time.
