Dead Souls
I was staring at at it, the little thing in my hand and I was going to vomit, this wasn't happening. Positive. Nope, no way. Nope. I rubbed a hand through my hair and sighed dramatically before wrapping the stick in toilet paper and standing up on the bath, opening the window and throwing it out. I got down and washed my hands before standing against the door. I couldn't believe this. I waited a few minutes before opening up and going out, staring straight at Marco and I narrowed my eyes slightly before sitting on the bed, I was trying to focus all my energy and send him away. But nope, he was there. Still...and ugh. No. Why did this have to happen? Jen...Hayley..Zilly...anybody it could have been and the stupid universe decided it was him. I mean, what purpose does he have here? It wasn't until he stared back at me that I looked away. Sam and Dean were watching us, I don't even know how long this was going to go on but I don't think I could take any more of it. Plus there was more news and I couldn't even think about that.
"Okay...Dean and I-" Sam began.
"Don't even think about it" I said without looking at him.
"Don't be childish" Dean snorted. My eye twitched and I held my breath until He decided to speak again "What Sam was trying to say was that he and I are going to go, find out some things about this case, while you two" He stopped and smiled slightly "Figure things out"
"What things?!" I demanded.
"Things" Dean said and with that he and Sam were out the motel room door.
I sighed in frustration and bit down on my bottom lip and looked at Marco, he was looking right back at me. "What?" I asked.
"Nothing" He muttered shaking his head. "I don't get it"
"Get what?"
"That after all this time you're still holding a grudge"
"It has nothing to do with a grudge, I don't like you" I said and I regretted the words just after a few minutes but kept my walls up.
"Why?"
I looked at him in what felt to me was shock "Why? Why?" I stood from the bed and ran a hand through my hair. "Why. That's a good question...are you sure you want to hear the answer because believe me, it's not going to be nice"
He shrugged slightly and I sighed in frustration, curling my hands into fists.
"You were my best friend" I said and went silent "You and Jen, my best friends, and you chose her. When you promised me, over and over again, that you wouldn't do that to me again, and you did" He just stared at me, as I sat back down on the bed and crossed my legs. "Out of everyone, everyone that we were friends with, I never thought you'd be one of the ones that just stopped talking to me" He still stared. "There was always that tiny part of me that hoped you'd see sense, that you'd be okay and you'd realize that the friends you needed were the ones you'd let down. Part of me thought that maybe it was out of pride, that you stopped talking to us..to me, and I know, by the end up I wasn't that great of a friend, but you were like my brother and you know what brother's don't do?"
"...What?" He asked.
"They don't stab their family in the back" I said "In the wise words of someone that's no longer here, Family don't end in blood, and I'm conflicted, in a way, I get to say things to you that I've wanted to say but at the same time I can't stand looking at you. You became your own worst enemy. I mean...did you even...want...that?"
"Want what?" He asked.
"To be friends with her...or was she just the better choice?"
He stayed silent and neither of us said anything to each other after that, and I sat back on the bed, and played with my fingers.
I don't know how much time passed but eventually Sam and Dean came back in, the room was silent until Dean decided to break it.
"So.." Everybody just looked at him and he put his hands up. "Never mind"
He put a bag of food on the table, telling Marco to go get some and sit, and he looked at me and I just shook my head, he rolled his eyes and sat down on the one of the chairs.
"What did you find out?" I asked.
"Two kids, this week, and in total around six or seven of them, have disappeared" Sam said and I looked at him.
"Just disappeared?" Marco asked.
"Yeah, apparently none of them spoke to each other, they just disappeared"
"Why?" I asked.
"Nobody knows" Dean said "Their family don't know if they're dead, or alive or if they're okay or not"
I chewed my lip "Anything else?"
"Apparently, an old woman, and few others have seen a young Japanese woman walking around with a mask on, says she's never spoke to her, but any time anybody's seen this woman someone's disappeared. " Sam said.
I looked down "I've heard of this"
"You have?" Sam asked.
"Yeah...Kuchisake-Onna" I said.
"What the hell is that?" Dean asked.
"Slit mouthed woman" Marco said and I looked at him.
"How do you know?" I asked and he shrugged.
"So, there's a bridge about two miles east of here, just on the outskirts" Sam said and shrugged "In fact, come on, me and Vicki will go check it out"
I nodded, enthusiastically and got up from the bed and headed out the door, not even waiting on Sam. I stood outside the door, finally feeling like I could actually breathe. I put a hand to my throat, it honestly felt like I'd been strangled. Sam came out when I put my hands to my side and he closed the door.
"You two have a talk?" He asked.
I gave a shrug "I talked. He didn't" I said.
Sam sighed "Dean and I are trying to help you guys out"
"We don't need help, Sam" I said.
"Listen, you and this kid must've been close if you've had this serious a fall out" He said.
"We were" I said "He was like my brother"
We got into the impala and I chewed my lip, playing with my fingers.
"So what happened, between the two of you?" Sam asked.
"It's not worth getting into okay? I'll fix it if you and Dean stop being ass holes about it" I said sitting back in the seat.
About an hour later we got to the bridge that Sam had been talking about and it was now dark, both of us got out. I felt sick slightly but pushed the feeling away until I got out of the car and threw up.
"You okay?!" Sam demanded.
"Fine" I said waving him off. I stood up and shook my head "I'm fine"
Sam was staring at me and then looked across towards the bridge both of us walking over to it.
"Sam..." I trailed off.
"What?"
"Okay...if I tell you this... do you promise-" I began.
"You're pregnant" He said looking down at the water and I stared at him.
"What?" I asked.
"You're pregnant, I already know" He said.
"W- How?!" I demanded.
He sighed slightly "The way you've been acting" He said. "The way every little things bother you, your mood swings, at first I thought it was just because of Marco, but then I noticed how the food you usually liked, you didn't seem to like it. I'm not as clueless as some people make me out to be "
"I always knew you were smart" I said and then hesitated. "Does...Dean.."
"No, he doesn't have a clue" He said shaking his head.
I sighed and shook my head "This is like the absolute worst possible time ever" I said and he nodded.
"We'll figure it out" He said.
"Yeah, because Dean isn't gonna just lose his shit" I said and Sam chewed his lip.
"Like I said, we'l figure it out" He said. "He might...I don't know"
"What suggest getting rid of it?" I asked and crossed my arms, Sam only stared. "No"
"Vicki-"
"Sam" I retorted. He sighed and shook his head, neither of us noticed however that the darkened sky seemed to become a red colour.
THIRD PERSON POV.
~Hotel Room~
"So why does she hate you so much?" Dean asked as he sat back.
Marco only sighed "It was...I don't know why it bothered her so much, but we just drifted apart" He shrugged.
"That's a lie, because when you think nobody's paying attention, you have this guilty look on your face" Dean said, his arms crossing over.
"I don't know, I guess I chose the fun option" Marco shrugged.
"So, drugs, alcohol, everything like that...was more fun than having friends and people that actually cared?"
"Pretty much" Marco shrugged.
Just as Dean was about to speak, Sam almost fell in the door, and staggered slightly.
"What the hell's going on?" Dean asked as he got up.
"We seen her" Sam said.
"Where's Vicki?" Dean asked.
"That's the bad part" Sam said and Dean groaned in frustration. "It gets worse..."
"How can it get any worse?!" Dean asked as Marco got to his feet.
"She's pregnant"
Dean stared at his younger brother like he was insane and then shuffled from foot to foot "...What?"
"You heard me"
"You've gotta be kidding me"
"Why are you two arguing?" Marco asked and they looked at him "She's pregnant and this thing, that Dean and I have been researching on, has her...there's a high chance she's gonna die"
"Yeah" Sam said and gave Dean a look "Come on"
~Unknown~
The blonde sat up, her head swimming as she looked around, managing to get to her feet without falling over. As she opened up her eyes more, the light almost crippled her and she looked around. It was only then that she seen what looked to be teens, huddled in the corner, that she realized that something happened.
"What do I do, Sam?" She asked.
"I don't know. But I promise, it'll be okay" He said.
"What if it's not?" Vicki asked "I can't be a mother..."
"Vicki.."
"It's the truth Sam, it's the one thing I'm terrified of" She said.
"Vicki!"
"Wha-"
"Son of a bitch" She muttered and she moved over to the darker corner of the room, but the door swung open and Vicki stopped in her tracks. Nothing happened, of course for a few moments, that was until a young woman with dark hair stepped into the room.
"The children, are free" She said, her accent sounded Russian. "You" She said turning to Vicki "Are to remain here"
"Sorry, but uh, I gotta go" Vicki said.
"No" She said shaking her head. "You are to stay here...give birth"
Vicki choked "I'm sorry, what?" She asked.
"I heard...you not a good mother"
"I haven't even tried yet"
"And what kind of life would your baby have...as you hunted ghosts, hm?"
Vicki stared at her as she backed out of the room "Don't leave me in here. Don't you- NO!" She screamed smashing her hands on the now closed door.
~2 Days Later~
Nothing. Two full days and they had absolutely nothing. They didn't know where to look, or how to find her.
"This is driving him insane" Sam muttered as he watched Dean slam the motel room door.
"He loves her?" Marco asked.
"Yeah" Sam nodded.
"How'd that happen?"
"Just...happened. Don't get me wrong...there was a lot...and I mean a lot of bad things...thrown into that relationship and I don't know how it happened" Sam said shaking his head "I seen it coming a mile off"
"She's always loved him"
"Yeah I know"
"We'll...find her right?"
"You know, you're actually a lot more worried about her than I thought you would be"
"What?"
"I thought this hate thing between the two of you was mutual" Sam said.
"It's not...that I hate her" Marco said shaking his head "I don't. She was there for me more than anybody else, it's hard when she's mad at me, I have too much pride. My mum used to say that" He said.
"Oh" Sam said and looked down, a beeping noise caught him off guard and he looked down at the phone, picking it up. "Move..come on" He said getting up and rushing out the door, after practically shoving Marco out it. "Dean!" He shouted just as Dean got into the Impala, he stopped and threw glares at the two. Sam held up his phone.
"Wow, Sammy. You have a phone" He said going to shut the door as they got in.
"Yeah" Sam said rolling his eyes "And I know where she is"
Vicki was sitting against a wall, a plate of food by the door. She was staring at the wall opposite her when the sounds of crashing and thumping, shouting caught her attention and she turned her head towards the door. Not having any energy to stand, Vicki sat where she was until she heard the voices coming closer and closer. Had they decided she was going to die? After two days..or however long it had been. It felt like she'd been in this place forever. The door swung open and Vicki's eyelids closed over but when a voice spoke close to her ear, they opened again.
"Come on, Vic" She was lifted up, her arm instantly going around the neck of whoever it was that was carrying her.
"Dean?!" A voice shouted.
"Dean.." Vicki managed.
"I'm here, I've got you" He said.
Vicki's eyes opened and she sat up, her head thumping.
"Hey" A voice said.
"Could..you not talk so loud" She hummed.
"Is that one of the many things...about being pregnant? Sensitive hearing"
Her eyes sprung open and she looked at Dean, her eyes wide. "W-What?"
"You heard me" He said nodding.
"Dean-"
"It was stupid of us...this is...but this..." He stammered. "Bad idea"
Vicki stared at him her eyes wide "Dean-"
"It's a bad idea Vicki...very, very bad...not with what's going on" He said shaking his head.
"I didn't-"
"I mean what can we do?"
Vicki hesitated before talking "I'll do it on my own"
Dean obviously snapped back to reality because he glared at her "Like hell"
"Dean-"
"No, shut up a minute" He said. "You've been gone two days, and out for nearly three" He said "So..lemme talk"
"Okay"
"This was because of me too..and you can't do it on your own, how the hell are you supposed to do that?" He asked "We'll figure out something" he said and he ran a hand through his hair.
"I'm sorry"
He looked at her "Yeah"
"I'm just as...shocked as you are...I didn't want this"
"Looks like we're dealing with it now" He said and Vicki nodded rubbing a hand over her face.
"Yeah" She said and looked down at her belly. Oh God. I'm Pregnant.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I know this chapter was pretty shit, but meh. My writing has gone sort of down hill, as I've not been on lately. Okay so I've decided that I'm no longer gonna go with the storyline for this and just make up my own, and if I do this I can get a chapter up maybe once a week or so. Anyway, I hope this was a nice twist to the chapter and I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks to all who reviewd and are enjoying my story.
