On the way back to Camp…
"Athenia." Percy asked. After I had killed Cadmus, Percy and Annabeth had been edgy around me. Guess it was different when I killed someone in front of them.
"What?" I asked.
"How many people have you killed?" Percy asked. A heavy silence fell over us and I didn't feel like answering.
"Too many." I responded.
"Do you ever feel guilty about killing people?"
"No. I always have a reason to kill them. They're monsters, they should die before they kill a Half-Blood. Besides you dust monsters all the time. Do you ever feel guilty?"
"No. They're monsters, they should die. But you kill mortals, you kill Demigods, you kill anyone."
"I'm an assassin; I don't have the luxury of guilt. Have you ever heard of a sympathetic assassin? It's an oxymoron, like an honest Politian, or a faithful god/goddess." I then turned to the sky. "No offence or anything." I told the gods.
"So you've never regretted killing someone?"
"No." I told them. Not caring if it was true or not. "Never." Then the train came to a stop.
"New York city. Everyone off for New York city." We got off, and got onto the subway. One way to long island. At least for the three of them. I was going right back out after I dropped them back at camp. We sat on the bus and then Annabeth asked me what I would do after they went back to camp.
"I'll probably go to Vegas win some money or go to Olympus to chill for a day or two." I told her. Seth frowned.
"What do you mean when we go back to camp? Aren't you coming with us?" He asked.
I shook my head. "There is no way whatsoever that I will stay in camp."
"Why?"
"Because I'm not really very good at staying still you know. Places to go, people to kill. That stuff."
"Can I go with you?" Seth asked. The subway came to a halt and thankfully we had to get out so we could take a cab back.
