hello my amazingful people! how are you all doing this fair day? this is a two part arc, in case you couldn't already tell. so then, I hope you all enjoy, because if you don't then the monsters will get me!
"Diamond? Diamond are you awake?"
"I am now.. what is it?" Diamond muttered as she woke up and wiped the drool from her mouth.
"it's party day!" Pipsqueak jumped out of bed and ran downstairs.
"party...? party day!" the message clicked in her head and she ran after him.
"good morning you two." Pipsqueak's mother was in the kitchen, there was a massive pile of pumpkin pancakes on the table, and an even larger pile of eggs and potatoes.
"this looks awesome Mom!" Pipsqueak said, and he piled a plate with food.
"yep, it's your birthday, and I remember you saying that pumpkin pancakes was one of your favorites." she smiled.
"yehahhgf." Pipsqueak said through a mouthful of pancakes and egg.
"eat up Diamond, I didn't make all this for only Pip you know."
"thank you." Diamond made a much smaller pile of food and began eating.
"G, sweetie? you need to wake up." Twilight said, shoving him magically as she made breakfast.
"huh? oh right." he got up and walked over to the kitchen and started boiling water.
"I'll make you food, you go check to see what time it is." Twilight tasted the soup she was making.
"alright." Gamemaster walked over to the window and looked out. "it's about eight thirty!"
"alright, so tonight we're going to be having dinner with my family, then tomorrow we're heading back." Twilight smiled. "and then you never have to come back again, okay?" she put a plate of food in front of him. "here, eat up, if this convention is going to be awful as you think it's going to be then you may need it." they ate quickly and each went to where they needed to be.
"hi Diamond!" Dinky said, walking into the house. "hi birthday colt!"
"hi Dinky!" Pipsqueak laughed out and got up from a very serious game of checkers.
"I got you a present!" Dinky handed it to him. "mommy helped me pick it out!"
"well then, I'll take that over with the others, we can't have Pipsqueak peeking can we?"his Mother took the gift and put it on a high shelf with Diamond's present.
"what are you guys playing?"
"we're playing checkers, you can play with Pip now though, if you want." Diamond moved to the side
"hey, I still have to beat you Dimond!" Pipsqueak belted out as he ran back to the board.
"hey there, what's up?" Gamemaster had been waiting for almost a half hour and this was the first pony who had paid him any attention.
"the ceiling?" why would this random pony ask what was up? couldn't he look up himself?
"ha! I like you, you're funny." the pony smiled and began looking over the games that Gamemaster had made. "hey, that's neat." he picked up a spinning orb and it started flashing and making sounds that resembled music made by a child. "cool." he motioned one of his friends over, who motioned one of his friends over, and then people came to see what it was and soon Gamemaster had a crowd of ponies surrounding him, and it was extremely overwhelming.
'hey, I can take care of all this for you, you seem a bit stressed.'
'no, you are not taking over, period.'
'oh, come on, please? I promise I'll be good.'
'no! alright!?'
'fine, spoil sport.'
"alright then, it's present time!" called out Pipsqueak's mother after each foal had eaten enough cake and ice cream to fill a barn, figuratively of course.
"yay!" Pipsqueak ran over and sat down, all the other children gathering around him.
"alright, so here's mine to start." Pipsqueak's mother handed him a box covered in shiny wrapping-paper, and he tore it off to find a stuffed monkey.
"and now then, last but not least, here's Diamond's gift." one final gift was Given to Pipsqueak, who ripped off the paper to find a handmade clay statuette of Pipsqueak holding a balloon.
"did you make this yourself?"
"um, yeah, sorry if it isn't that good." Diamond blushed. 'why am I blushing? it's just Pip, what is happening!?'
"I love it thank you!" Pipsqueak ran at her and gave her a huge hug, accidentally kissing her cheek in the process. "oh, um, sorry." both of them blushed.
'why is this so awkward? we've hugged before, he had never kissed me, but he did it on accident.'
"finally, it's over." Gamemaster took his pony-boy and the one remaining copy of his games back. after the first wave it was as bad as touhou, with more ponies showing up than he knew how to handle. the convention was over now, and it was time, time for the most awkward dinner of them all.
"hey sweetie, how did it go?"
"why did you make me do this?"
"it's okay G, you'll be fine, I promise. now then, let's get you back and get you ready for dinner, after that my parents can't be that bad."
"Jikan dake ga oshiete kureru"
"exactly." Twilight smiled and they started heading back.
"Twilight!" Mrs. sparkle ran forward and gave her daughter a hug.
"hi Mom." Twilight hugged her back and then gave Mr. Sparkle a hug.
"hello sir, it is an honor to meet you." Gamemaster bowed down as low as he could go.
"this must be the stallion we've heard so much about." Mr. Sparkle pulled Gamemaster up and gave him a hug. "welcome to our humble abode."
"um, I am honored." Gamemaster squirmed out of his grasp and stood back a bit, feeling very awkward.
"so, where are you from again? las pegasus?"
"Neighpan." Gamemaster was feeling more embarrassed than the time he ordered squid at a vegetarian restaurant.
"ah yes, Twilight mentioned that. so then, dinner is still cooking, Velvet is making some casserole, would you like to sit in front of the fire and talk?"
"yes, thank you." they walked over and Gamemaster sat in front of the fire, tilted toward Mr. Sparkle.
"what would you like to discuss Sparkle-San?"
"oh, just call me Claymore, it's no big deal." he grinned. "please, take a seat."
"I am fine here." Gamemaster muttered as he took a few deep breaths.
"oh, all right. so then, what do you do for a living?"
"I make and sell games." Gammaster moved a touch away from Claymore.
"ah, yes, Gamemaster, suppose I should have guessed. so then, how has that been going?"
"well, it get's me by and feeds Diamond."
"ah yes, you adopted Diamond Tiara. I remember the trial, I was called for jury duty, I'm so glad that Filthy was taken care of." Claymore leaned back in his chair and chuckled.
"yes, well then, what do you do?"
"oh, I'm retired, I Used to work in Celestia's guard." he looked into the fire for a moment. "so many memories. I remember in basic training, my commanding officer was the toughest of them all. my buddy actually had to run a mile because he missed a spot polishing his helmet. I hated the old geezer at the time, but at the end we were the greatest squad of them all. then the night we finished, the same buddy drank so much that he thought he was cockatrice. he wouldn't look at anypony and when the commanding officer came inn the room he stared him down for about a half hour before he passed out." he chuckled as he thought about his adventures.
"it sounds as though lived quite the adventure."
"oh yes, what was life like for you before the game making?"
"oh, well, when I was six I was teleported to the everfree. I lived off the land, eating fish and berries, and avoiding the other creatures. it was not as, entertaining, as your stories were."
"that sounds interesting enough to me, surely you must have some kind of story."
"all my stories are of school, and they are not the most pleasant."
"alright then."
"hey you two! the casserole is done!"Mrs. Sparkle called from the dining room, and you could smell the home cooking from the foyer.
"this looks awesome Mom!" Twilight took a massive bite. "mmmm!" she did a little dance in her seat.
"thank you sweetie, Gamemaster, please eat." Claymore had already eaten half of his plate and drank a cup and a half of hot coffee.
"itadakimasu" Gamemaster took a bite of the casserole. it was a blend of the vegetables and the sauce, the herbs and spices boiling over the meat off the flavour with their delicate, yet powerful taste.
"how is it?"
"it reminds me of home." he shuffled a bit in his chair, as he remembered the ramen pan his mother would make, with squid and rice noodles, carrots and seaweed filling his mouth with a flavour that could only be considered, of the sea.
"thank you, would you like some coffee? it's decaffeinated of course." Mrs Sparkle held up a pot of the deep black colored drink of the gods.
"I'm fine, thank you." Gamemaster took another bite of the casserole as Twilight stated babbling on about the adventures that had happened with Gamemaster around.
"so Gamemaster, how did you come to be so fond of my Daughter?" Claymore asked as they sat after the meal with pie and tea.
"I don't honestly remember when it happened. I just know that soon after being a part of this new place, I knew who I wanted to be with. the kindest, the most intelligent, most beautiful mare that I had ever known."
"Gamemaster that was so sweet." Twilight kissed him on the cheek.
"yes, indeed, if you don't mind can we talk alone?"
"of course sir."
"listen closely Gamemaster, I love my daughter more than life itself. if you break her heart, if you so much as touch her in the wrong way, Celestia help me I will see to it personally that you are punished." Claymore stared at Gamemaster with burning eyes.
"of course sir, I would never harm your Daughter." Gamemaster bowed.
"good, you can go now, I'm going to stay here." Claymore sat down in the foyer and started the watching the crackles and pops of the fire.
"hey there G, what did Dad want to talk to you about?" Twilight was making dolls with Mrs. Sparkle and it looked like she had barely started the head.
"nothing in particular, we should head back and get some sleep, things are likely to be hectic at home."
"I suppose you're right, there never is a dull day is there?"Twilight smiled and hugged her mother before getting ready to leave.
"Gamemaster?"
"yes Sparkle-San?"
"please, call me Velvet, however that's not what I wanted to say. please, don't let my husband scare you, he likes to act tough but he's just a teddy bear really." she chuckled. "you wouldn't believe how many suitors he's scared off."
"I can believe that idea." Gamemaster smiled and bowed before following Twilight out to the cab.
"enjoy yourself sweeties!"
"thank you so much for coming with me G it means so much to me!"
"it was my pleasure." Gamemaster yawned and Twilight put her head on his lap.
"I know that Mom and Dad can be huggy sometimes, I hope it wasn't too weird."
"I was very surprised, but I suppose I have been getting more accustomed to your culture."
"I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself." Twilight snuggled with him and quickly fell asleep on his lap.
"welcome back Dad!" Diamond ran at him when they arrived at the train station and gave him a big hug.
"ohayou my shining Diamond."
"hey Twilly." Rainbowdash called out as Twilight came out.
"hey Dash, hat happened while we were gone?"
"nothing much for once. for a small town we sure do get excitement around here."
"yeah, I need to take my things back, and so does G, right?"
"yes, I do."
"so we'll talk later, alright?"
"okay then, see ya later alligator!" Rainbowdash called out, flying off.
"why did she call you an alligator?"
"it's just a saying, stop taking everything so literally."
and there we go, another one bites the dust! nan dun dundun, another one bites the dust.
