A/N:
Teller16-djb: Welcome to the last chapter of not only Vortex Ventures, but the entire Mixed Dimensions trilogy.
Clockwork: I thought you wanted this to end.
Teller16-djb: I don't think you get what symbolic affect this story has on me.
Brenda: Then by all means, help us understand.
Teller16-djb: It's all because of this story that everything happened. If Clockwork hadn't needed my help, things woulda been a lot worse. I wouldn't have met my Esoteric children, I wouldn't have desovered my powers, Alvin wouldn't have flown us to the Moon that one time-
Brenda: Wait what happened?
Teller16-djb: My point is…if it wasn't for my Esoteric double, Sissy and I would probaby still act like rivals. So, we gather here today, to give our final goodbyes to this adventure. Join me in the final story starter, and yes that means you readers.

Epilogue: Place In This World
No One's POV
The mood was appreciative, but it was also unhappy. All of Ooaa was back the in working order, Earth was destruction-free and every bystander was safe from harm. Those were things to be appreciative for. The unhappy feeling stemmed from the fact that the life-changing adventure was over. It was a bitter-sweet accomplishment in the eyes of the one who began the journey.
It all started with just one naïve teen. He wanted more but didn't know what more he wanted. He was shot into a world that was not his own and made a new life, new friends…and an extended family. Then his past caught up with him, reminding him that he can't run and hide forever. This caused many changes to the life he was just beginning to get the hang of. Then he was assigned back to his world because danger hit. There he learned more about his family and himself than he could have ever imagined.
It all started with Shawn Christopher Parker.
Sunrise as sunset, the balance of the universes were setting back. This had caused much displeasure with a certain Time Lord who stood by and watched the whole thing go down. He came from the sky just like the rain had fallen upon the heroes. He was there to set things in their proper order, though his approach could be seen as unorthedox.
"So Uncle," Star greeted the honorary family member, "not bad?"
"For the most part I can agree," he shifted from adult to kid. "But you caused me a lot of problem that I needed to fix."
"Needed?"
"For the most part it's taken care of. Just one more thing. Shawn, blaster."
Shawn handed Clockwork the newest ray gun and the Time Shifter took it apart with a swift hand movement. The Power Stones rested in his hands while the disguarded metal turneded to rust before fading into non-existance.
"On to buisiness," Clockwork's elderly face looked the heroes over. "The ruby, amber and emerald stay in the Candy Catacombs where it's safe."
He opened a potal with his staff and threw those chosen stones inside. The curious heroes peered inside and saw books upon books. The room was lit by candles but remained mysteriously dark. Clockwork closed the portal before they could cause anymore trouble to him.
"Wait," Oliver thought aloud. "That's only three stones. What about the rest?"
"The onyx is in safe hands at the moment," Clockwork listed. "As is the agate and the cubic zirconia. The friends of a friend of mine might have some use for the sapphire. I'm going to use the fluorite to erase the memory of Ooaa other than "fiction". And Shawn can use the topaz. You'll know what to do."
Clockwork flew into the air. It was time to go back to Ooaa. Each one of their Ooaa friends had a different thing to say to the topaz weilder who saved them as they entered the yellow portal back.
"To think I wanted to kill you in the woods," Ice Prince recalled. "I'm glad I didn't."
"Me too," Shawn told him. "Believe me. You surprised me too Oliver. Thanks for having my back and not stabbing it."
"What are friends for?"
"Why did you come after me that day," Ice Princess had to know.
"Curiousity," Shawn asked more than said. "You were alone and I knew how it felt. I just wanted to pass on the joy Star brought to me."
"Well thanks. Other than Oliver, you're the only real friend I ever had."
Next came the Vampires.
"You didn't do bad Wolf-boy," Marceline ruffled up his hair.
"Neither did you Marcie," Shawn laughed pushing her hand off his head.
"Think fast," Marshal threw something at him.
Shawn stumbled to get a grip. When he did, he saw his dad's pistol.
"How did you get it," Shawn asked.
"Ha," Marshal pointed. "Your prints are on it. I'm in the clear!"
"Marshal Lee! What did you do?!"
"See ya Wolfy! Stay cool!"
Ensuing was Flambo and the Candy Corn Kids.
"Not too shabby kid," Flambo sorta thanked him. "Take care of girly and Nova will ya?"
"I think they'll be fine," Shawn waved it off.
Holly, Molly and Jolly ran up to him and gave him a hug. Shawn retured it gratefully. It had been them that gave him the chance to be a hero. If they hadn't have jumped him when he first arrived, then there would be no way to know what he did in that moment.
"Now go on," Shawn stood them all up. "Try not to burn anything down guys."
"Yes sir Wolfsbane," they saluted him.
Shawn laughed and returned the sign of respect. The Candy Corn Kids jumped through the portal back to the Candy Kingdom. Proceeding the list of gratitude was Cake and Jake.
"Stay safe hon," Cake stretched to give him a bear hug.
"Can't breathe," Shawn struggled to freedom. "Not to sound needy or anything. "
"Dude," Jake fist bumped him once he was free. "Everything Burrito time?"
"Aw yeah."
Last up was Finn and Fionna.
"I can't believe we pulled it off," Fionna cheered with the boys.
"Yeah," Shawn jumped. "Uh Finn? I never got to ask, why are you dressed like that?"
"Wha," Finn looked down at himself. "Oh. The grey stuff is paint, the eyes are just these weird glasses-"
Finn took of the glasses and threw them to the ground. His eyes were blue once more.
"-and the teeth are gummies."
"What about your fingers," Shawn wondered.
"The tips come off."
"Okay," Fionna clapped. "Congrats Shawn, I'm sick of Earth now. Let's go guys."
"No problem."
Shawn was about to go with them but looked back to see Star wasn't following. He gestured to the portal but Star simply shook her head and sat next to Nova. That was Star's way of telling him that she was staying. This had been one thing about ending the adventure that Shawn didn't want to face: Earth or Ooaa?
"Shawn," Finn asked, "you coming?"
"I-uh, hmmm…um."
"Shawn?"
"Shawn," Natasha questioned.
"La negación es el camino de los ignorantes, el corazón es el camino del miedo," Shawn sighed. "Siga su corazón y le fijarán libre."
"Huh," Finn and Natasha were confused.
"You coming," Finn tried again.
"I'd like that," Shawn decided.
Finn took this as a sign that Shawn was going back to Ooaa. However, instead of stepping up to them, Shawn backed up to stand next to Natasha and Star. This had the hero and heroine puzzled.
"Look," Shawn rubbed the back of his neck, "Finn, Fionna, I know I have about a million and one reasons to go with you. I'm free to do whatever, I'm a hero and then there's you guys. But all I need is one reason I have and need to stay on this ego-infested, glorified mud-ball. It's my home."
"Oh," Finn seemed to understand. "See you around?"
'I'll see you,' Shawn thought while only nodding in response. 'But you won't see me.'
Shawn had made his choice and was going to stick by it. Natasha took his hand as a sign of reassurance that she would stand by him this time around. Fionna saw this and winked to Shawn. He shrugged and winked back to her. From there, Finn and Fionna jumped through the portal to Ooaa.
The winds of change had come in the most unlikely forms, but the change was well needed. Things had the potential to go back to normal, and Shawn alone would make the final call on that. He placed the topaz on the portal and zipped it shut like a jacket. Except, when he reached the bottom, he put the stone on the other side and shut it from Earth.
Once again a wave shot him backwards into a building. Star, Natasha and Nova ran up to him. Worry washed away with the rain as he smiled up at them.
"Why did you do that," Star asked him.
"It's the way it's gotta be," he answered.
Clockwork nodded at the act he saw. Finally, Shawn had grown up and out of his selfish ways. The Master of Time sent out a wave from the fluorite that hit everyone on Earth…except for the four. They had learnt far too valuable lessons that he didn't want to take away.
Having accomplished that, Clockwork gave them a rest from the beginning. So in this new chain of events, Shawn, Natasha, Star and Nova were the best friends the school had seen. Shawn and Star found themselves actually liked for who they were. Granted there were a couple secrets they held from their peers, life had never been better.
Ooaa hadn't forgotten or received a do-over. They didn't need one. There was a place for everything and everything in its place. Almost. Everything has a secret to be hidden and the Ooaa gang wouldn't learn those secrets for some years. But when the times were to come, they would be ready; them and some new friends they'd take along for the ride.
But that's another story.
"There's just one thing about all of it that I don't understand," Shawn told the quad.
"Really," Natasha asked. "Just one thing?"
"Okay a few. But I think they all stem from one question."
"Only one," Nova wondered.
"I think so."
"What's the question," Star questioned.
"Who the Hell is Teller?!"
A/N:
Teller16-djb: The end. At least for now.
Clockwork: There you have it folks. The adventure that started it all.
Brenda: We now call to the bench the leading four, Shawn Natasha, Star and Nova. Uh, why do they look older?
Teller16-djb: Umm. Clocks, help me out here.
Teller16-djb & Clockwork: CORNEY CORE CORNER TIME!
Clockwork: It's that time where we ask you what you learned. We realize how cheesy it is but just in case somebody missed something, we'll do this. Niece, you start then the rest of you proceed.
Star: Oh. Well, I learned that it's always important to keep calm and stay optimistic.
Nova: I learned that sometimes it's okay to go against what you're supposed to do.
Natasha: I learned that when bad things happen, you have to roll with the changes.
Shawn: And I learned that with my family, I can do almost anything.
Teller16-djb: And so my double learns the values.
Brenda: Why are they older?
Teller16-djb: Uhhh, CW!
Clockwork: We would now like to take this time to thank all of those who reviewed.
Teller16-djb: Right. From Into the Wormhole, I thank Purple Ice Queen, HoneyBadgerGal, Guest and Rosezelene Ersa. From Portal Problems, I thank Flamestormxx. From Vortex Ventures, I thank MoonStar1312. And I want to give a HUGE shout out to the reviewer for the whole Mixed Dimensions trilogy and the short-
Teller16-djb, Clockwork & Brenda: rbvictor!
Teller16-djb: This kid has basically kept the lights on here, so give him a round of applause. You, you long time reviewer, deserve a prize. But because of the whole stranger-danger-on-the-internet thing I can't give you an actual prize.
Shawn: Then what does he get. You gotta give him something.
Teller16-djb: I am. Reviewer rbvictor, your prize is that we shamlessly advertise your stories until the end of time! Or something dramatic to that effect anyways.
Brenda: Why are they older?
Teller16-djb: We'll tell you in the next story, just shut up! The next trilogy shall begin in one week. That's November 7th, we start the fun. Now Sissy and I have a party to get to. So for now…
