I am so, so sorry for taking this long to update!
I've been too busy lately, and when I finally got the chance to sit and write I took it... *sweatdrops*
Anyway, hope you enjoy this.
After Kaoru left her, Momoko tried to go back to sleep; with thoughts about what her mother told her.
Kaoru and Miyako were just like sisters to her, they tried as much as they could to help Momoko get over the shock of her mother's death; and even while doing it they considered how hard it would be and left her to her feeling at times, but other times they'd kick her butt of the couch and force her to do some moving and eating.
"Thank you mother," she smiled softly, if her mother hadn't told her that, it would've been harder for her.
A knock of the door forced her to open her eyes; if it was Kaoru or Miyako they could open the door themselves. Whoever the person was he kept knocking on the door, Momoko frowned, she wasn't in the mood for guests now, so she'll just wait until the person leaves.
The knocking persisted, Momoko sighed loudly and forced her feet to drag her to the door, she was too tired to deal with whoever was on the other side of the door.
But she was sure that she had absolutely no power to deal with Hiroshi at the moment.
"H-Hiroshi?"
The red haired boy smiled softly at Momoko, and she immediately felt her heart skip a beat.
"What are you doing here?" the words slipped from her mouth.
"What do you mean by that," he frowned softly "I came to make sure you're okay."
"Oh…" she whispered, looking down at her feet and gripping the door handle tight.
Hiroshi scratched the back of his head, feeling awkward for not allowed in, that was definitely not something he was prepared for.
"Aren't you cold?" he said softly.
"Ah, p-please come in…" she said
Momoko felt like a complete idiot! She was mad at him, why would she allow him to inter? Biting her lower lip Momoko walked ahead of him to the living room.
"Sorry for the mess," she mumbled softly
"No, I came uninvited." Hiroshi said
Momoko stayed quiet for a while, as the both sat on the couch not looking or talking to each other, she could feel how awkward Hiroshi was, and it made her heart soften; maybe he was sorry and wanted to apologize.
But no, she should be the one apologizing, that day when he came after her to explain to her she refused to hear him out, it is her fault after all, but there he is coming back to see how is she. She felt such a huge amount of regret, why did she avoid him that day, even if she was scared she should have listened to what he had to say; perhaps he had a reason to hide that thing from her, maybe he was waiting for the right time to tell her.
Oh, she could feel her stomach tighten with regret…
Hiroshi knew that it would be awkward, meeting with her after what happened, but he had to do it. It's been a while since he saw her and he knew that she's now in a hard time, and he really wanted to help her just like how she had helped him, if only she'd allow him.
Hiroshi could remember his friends and Miyako convincing him to go to talk to her; he insisted that she didn't want to see him. But Miyako said that even though she said that, Momoko must be waiting for him to come to her, which was the only thing that gave him the courage to come.
"Sorry…" he started, biting his lower lip "I took too long to come."
"Don't-" Momoko started but quieted
Hiroshi felt that he did a mistake, and that she'll kick him out, the thought of that caused his heart to drop.
Momoko sighed, "Don't apologize, Hiroshi…"
He looked at her for the first time since coming; she was thinner, paler, and tired. Her eyes were so sad, tears forming at the corners of her eyes, and his heart immediately leaped, he hated seeing her that way, it hurts so much.
"I'm the one who should be apologizing… I didn't listen to you that time." She said, voice shaking.
"Momoko, don't cry…"
"No, Hiroshi." She said looking into his eyes with so much sadness that she broke his heart "Let me vent it out Hiroshi…please." She said, her voice finally breaking and tears running down her eyes.
Hiroshi was shocked, but remained silent, waiting patiently for what she had to say. She took a deep breath in and looked up, the way she looked made Hiroshi want to hug her and hide her from the world, even though she was tired she still had that gleam in her eyes; a gleam that gave him the feeling that something good will come one day.
"I was scared from you," hearing that made him hate himself, Hiroshi gritted his teeth and continued hearing her as she said "I didn't expect you to be a wolf, I know that I should have heard you that day but I couldn't!" she huffed "And from that day to this moment I regretted it, I wanted to talk to you but you disappeared, and I got scared. When I talked about it to mother she comforted me, and told me that you'll come." She continued crying "But then she died…and I still haven't talked to you about anything, and I felt that it was the end to everything, nothing was working out Hiroshi… not my relationships with others, not my mom's sickness…nothing. You left when I needed you the most Hiroshi! Mom died and you weren't there to help me!"
Hiroshi closed his eyes to calm himself down, or he'll cry with her. He opened his eyes and stared at Momoko, she was biting her lower lip, glaring at the floor and calming herself down, she wiped her tears and huffed, turning to look at Hiroshi.
Hiroshi fell apart at her look.
The look of strength and determination that filled her eyes stirred everything in him, she was strong and he knew it.
Immediately he got up and enveloped her in his arms, tucking her head under his chin, and pressing her against his chest. He sighed, finally feeling her warmth close.
"I'm sorry Momoko, for everything." He said gently against her hair "I didn't come back because I thought you didn't want to see me, and I'm sorry for not being here when you needed me, I was selfish…I really am sorry for your loss…" he mumbled the last part gently.
Momoko sighed, feeling the warmth and sinking into it, she was too tired to get angry and sorry at the same time. She laughed gently to herself, making Hiroshi look weird at her, she was an emotion roller-coaster, how can she be mad and yet sorry at the same time.
"What's so funny?" he asked carefully
"Nothing," she said softly, "I'm such a mess, I need to stop this."
Hiroshi grunted, "It's okay, it's okay to let everything out, don't keep anything in, this will only hurt you more, it's okay to cry you know…"
Momoko smiled and relaxed in Hiroshi's embrace "Thank you Hiroshi, for everything…"
Hiroshi scoffed jokingly "I should be the one thanking you, you've been helping me since the beginning…"
A man with dark skin tone gritted his teeth, leaning against a tree catching his breath; turning into his human form was a bit painful since he rarely used it. Jorje huffed lifting his head up and adjusting to his new form, his dark brown hair reaching his neck in soft curls, he grunted moving the hair away from his eyes.
Jorje felt weird hearing his human voice after so long, it brought memories of the days when he and his friends would escape their village, turn into their human forms and went to where the humans lived, feeling curious to know about them.
Smiling at the memories, Jorje straightened, frowning a bit at his torn clothes. He sighed and decided that he'll have to get a change of clothes before going to the humans.
When Jorje reached the town, he went to a store; the woman there was shocked to see his torn clothes.
Jorje smiled handsomely at her "Pardon me for coming with such clothes," he apologized, "But as you can see, I need a change of clothes."
The woman blushed at his sweet way of talking, and at his handsome smile, "Sure, come this way."
Jorje felt way better after getting into clean, new clothes. Wearing a white button up shirt with a black pants and a black coat, although it was simple, it was better than his former clothing. He gave the woman the money for the clothes and bowed his head in a way to say thank you, and goodbye.
Jorje was nervous of going to the king and asking his help to fight his own kind, but he hoped for the best, he really wanted them to accept, because if he lost, Yasu will come to the humans next. It was all what Yasu wanted, revenge. And if the humans didn't cooperate, then its game over, Yasu is way too strong now.
He fixed the collar of his coat, keeping his head high as he approached the guards.
"Stop there," one of the guard said "What is it that you want?"
"I want to see your king." He said in a steady, strong voice.
The guard frowned "Do you think I'll allow you in just like that?"
Jorje smiled "Of course not, but it's a matter of life or death. If you're willing, you can follow me in."
The other guard sniggered at what Jorje said, but he didn't falter, "I'm sorry, but I won't leave until you allow me in, I mean no harm to the king."
The guard sighed and looked at Jorje for a while, "What is your name, and what do you want to talk to the king about?"
"My name is Jorje, Jorje Amachi. And I need to talk to your king about the wolves; I have a solution that may work." Jorje didn't say too much, just what would peak the interest of the guard enough to go and tell the king.
The guards eyes flashed but he showed no signs of what may have went through his head, he nodded and turned to walk into the castle "Wait here until I get permission from the king."
Jorje nodded, feeling some relief seeping through his body.
Now, he though, he can fix things, he can fix what his friend had ruined. Jorje prayed in his heart that the humans would accept helping them through this, because if they did many problems will be solved and neither the humans of the wolves will live just to stay safe from the other, they could make a truce and fix all things.
And hopefully, one day, he'll be able to fix things between him and his friend, and turn things back to what they were.
And thank you to everyone who reviewed, I didn't have the chance to reply to everyone but thank you so much!
