A/N: I apologize for my hiatus on this story. I really want to finish this and work on Know What You Want, so I'll be trying to finish this (one chapter left after this) and update and finish Know What You Want, which has quite a few number of chapters left. This chapter kind of skips around a bit, but I think it's pretty good so I hope you like it :)

Chapter 25-Summer

"Tana! Quinn!" Brianna exclaimed as the two girls walked into the house.

"Bri!" Santana shouted excitedly, embracing her cousin. Quinn looked on with a smile, but then Bri tore away from the Latina and grabbed Quinn in a bear hug too. The blonde laughed and hugged her back.

"Hey, Bri, how've you been?"

"Pretty good," Bri answered, a little sparkle in her eye. Quinn smiled at her, and realized that Santana and Julio had already started upstairs to Santana's old room with all their bags. She gave Bri another smile and then followed the two Lopez's upstairs and into Santana's old room. It looked the same as it had at Christmas, and ultimately as it had a year before.

"I'll let you ladies get settled," Julio told them, setting down the bags he had and leaving the room, closing the door behind him. Santana sighed and looked around the room before leaning against Quinn, who wrapped her arms around her.

"Santana," Quinn started soothingly.

"I'm fine," Santana insisted. Quinn smiled slightly at her fiancé's whining tone.

"I was just going to say that I love you," Quinn whispered. Santana looked up at her with a smile. "And that I'm going to marry you one day, no matter what things try to slice between us."

"I love you too, babe," Santana answered quietly. They pressed their lips together in a soft kiss, but then they ended it quickly to unpack their bags.

"Mija!" came Maribel's voice suddenly. Santana jumped up and left the room, followed by Quinn, of course. "Your Papi and I are about to leave for our little vacation."

"Oh, you're leaving today?"

"Si, we'll take as much time as we can get," Maribel answered teasingly.

"Where exactly are you going?" Quinn asked, curious. Julio walked in at that, raising an eyebrow at his wife.

"Eh, don't worry about us, girls. You just enjoy yourselves while we're gone, okay?"

"Si, Mami," Santana answered, giving her Mami and Papi each a hug. Quinn followed up with her own hugs as well, and then Bri gave her aunt and uncle a hug. Maribel and Julio grabbed their three bags and left.

Their amazing summer together kicked off that week. Bri, Santana and Quinn went out and hung out at a bunch of places in LA, and they went to the beach quite a few times too. When Bri's parents came back, Bri still stayed over at Maribel's and Julio's quite a lot. Maribel and Julio came back a little late, and refused to share any details on what they'd been out doing, which to Quinn was a little suspicious.

Not to mention, that even when they were back home, they would be seen having hushed conversations on the phone, and as soon as they saw Santana or Quinn around, they hung up. What was going on?

"Have your parents looked a little suspicious to you lately?" Quinn asked her fiancé, three weeks into summer as they laid out in the sand on the beach, Quinn's head on Santana's lap, laying parallel to the water, as Santana lay more perpendicular to it.

"Yeah, they have. Whatever they're up to, I think Bri is in on it," Santana admitted, looking over at where Bri was talking excitedly on the phone with someone. She glanced over at the two girls before immediately looking away.

Quinn closed her eyes and Santana ran her fingers through the girl's blond hair. "I wish I knew what they were planning."

"Hopefully we'll find out soon," Santana said, playing with Quinn's hair still.

"Mija! Quinn! I think we need to head out now," Maribel called. Santana groaned as Quinn sat up. The Latina stood and helped her fiancé up.

They made their way to the parking lot, where Julio was already in the car. And oddly, they were in a different parking spot that they'd been in before. Quinn and Santana climbed into the car, followed by Bri.

Quinn immediately noticed the many suitcases packed up in the back of the car. "Whoa, what's up with these?"

No one said anything as they drove away from the beach and in a random direction that wasn't towards home. "Mami, where are we going?" Santana asked, sounding confused. Quinn took her fiancé's hand, just as confused.

"We're going to the airport," Maribel answered. No other information was given as they all sat in silence on the ride to the airport. Bri was excitedly texting someone. Where were they going?

When they got to the airport, Julio kept the five tickets hidden from Santana and Quinn's eyesight. The two girls, still very confused, went to the bathroom with Bri to change out of their bikinis and into a more appropriate airport outfit.

An hour later, they finally went to their gate, and Quinn and Santana finally saw their destination. New York City. "Wait, why are we going to New York?" Quinn asked, utterly confused by now.

"You'll see!" Bri said, exasperated. "Stop asking, it's a surprise!"

Quinn and Santana exchanged a glance and rolled their eyes, but they smiled and went with it. The sat together through the entire plane ride, wondering what they were going to New York for.

Surprisingly, Tina and Kurt met them at the airport. Santana and Quinn had found out that they were actually pretty good friends and had managed to rake up cash to afford a small apartment together so that they could stay in New York for the summer, but still, no one offered up an explanation for the Lopez's, Bri and Quinn being there.

They had to take Tina's car and a cab to fit everyone and all the bags in, but Quinn and Santana were forced to ride with Tina so they didn't hear where they were going. They drove through the crowded streets until they stopped at a random one and were ushered out of the car. Everyone grabbed bags and led Santana and Quinn into a building. As soon as they were inside, they could tell it was an apartment building.

"Is this where your apartment is?" Quinn asked Kurt. Kurt and Tina exchanged excited glances and they shook their head as they all squeezed into the elevator. Realization crept up on Quinn and her jaw dropped.

Santana must've realized as well, "Wait, wait! Is this... did you guys...?" She was looking back and forth between her parents, before babbling something in Spanish to them. The elevator stopped and Maribel and Julio led them over to a door and produced a key from his pocket.

He handed it to Quinn. "Welcome to your new apartment, Quinn and Santana."

"Oh my god!" Quinn exclaimed. She fumbled with the key and the lock, but she finally opened the door and gasped. The apartment was a pretty decent size. It appeared to have two bedrooms, although only one bathroom, and a small, cozy living and kitchen area. Aside from the appliances, the kitchen and living room were empty.

"Gracias, gracias, gracias, Mami y Papi!" Santana exclaimed and grabbed her parents in a huge hug, which Quinn quickly joined in.

"We love it, guys, thank you so much!"

"Vamos, come on!" Maribel exclaimed, breaking apart from the hug and carrying Santana and Quinn's bags into one of the bedrooms. It was pretty small, but that was to be expected. It, too, was empty.

"We're all going to go shopping tomorrow to help you furnish it all," Tina explained to them.

"I hope you don't mind if we stay in the spare room for a couple nights, Mija," Julio said.

"Of course we don't, Papi," Santana answered.

"Where are we going to sleep tonight then?" Quinn asked, glancing at the floor which was just a thin, uncomfortable looking layer of carpet.

"It's an adventure, Quinnie!" Kurt exclaimed. "Lay out blankets or something."

"It's late, we should probably head home to get some sleep to prepare for tomorrow, Kurt," Tina suggested. He nodded, and they said goodbyes before the two left.

"We'll see you ladies in the morning," Maribel said with a smile. The three of them left the room and went into the other room with their own, smaller bags.

Quinn and Santana looked around their small room again. There was a window overlooking the street below them, and the city around it. It was bright and noisy, but Quinn would be lying if she said it bothered her.

"I can't believe they did this for us, it's amazing," Quinn gaped. Santana nodded in agreement as she opened her suitcase.

"Looks like they packed up all of our stuff," Santana informed the blonde. She opened the bag that had blankets and pillows and things in it. She pulled them all out and threw them onto the ground in a big, comfy pile. "C'mon, baby, let's get some sleep."

They laid on the pile of blankets and curled up together, letting the sound of the city they loved lull them to sleep.

The next day was one big blur. They were up and out of the apartment at a very ungodly hour that Quinn couldn't even recall, and they met Kurt and Tina at a small diner to eat a quick breakfast. They drove around New York, through Broadway and Times Square and basically everywhere, before they finally stopped at a moving truck rental. They rented a truck for the day and Julio took up driving it while every one else squeezed in Tina's car.

They went to so many different places to buy a queen sized bed, a couch, a TV, utensils and items for their kitchen, decorations and many other little things, and Santana's parents wouldn't let them pay for any of it.

"Mami this is too much," Santana exclaimed as they finally stopped back in front of their apartment and opened the back of the large truck.

"We want you guys to have a good start to your life. We don't want to constantly have to supply you with things, so after this, you'll be on your own with your own jobs and school and life. We just want to help you guys get a start," Maribel insisted as they all brought in things. They set up a queen sized bed and a dresser and some shelves in the master bedroom. They had a couch in their living room, with a small TV on a small table across from it. Bri spent quite of bit of time organizing things into the kitchen, while Maribel decorated the place. Julio, Kurt and Tina carried things around and placed them in specific places, until their apartment was their own little piece of New York.

In the second room, they had put a cheap couch that could be pulled out as a bed, as well as a desk where both of the girls' laptops were, and that was pretty much it for that room. The living room had the couch and TV and in between it and the kitchen, there was a small table with a few chairs around it. The whole apartment was small and kind of tight, but it was cozy and it was just theirs.

"It's perfect, guys. Thank you so, so much," Quinn insisted.

"Anything for you ladies. We're so proud of you and we love you so much," Julio promised.

A few days later, Bri, Maribel and Julio left back to LA, leaving Quinn and Santana with their new home and their new life.

"Babe," Santana called from the kitchen, where she was making some food.

"Yeah?"

"Do you realize that we're going to get to live together here all through college?" Santana asked, sounding very excited.

"Yep!" Quinn beamed, walking into the kitchen and wrapping her arms around Santana's waist. "We're going to live with each other for the rest of our lives, baby."

"Forever."

"Yep, forever," Quinn agreed, pressing a kiss to Santana's neck.

"Have I told you how much I love you lately?"

"Probably, you say it too many times for me to keep track," Quinn joked. Santana chuckled.

"I love you so, so, so much, Quinn," Santana professed.

"I love you too, S."

Next chapter will skip forward a year or so to their wedding btw. It'll be the last chapter. I had some people point out to me that it would be unrealistic for Q and S to be able to afford an apartment together, even though I don't really know myself how realistic or unrealistic it would actually be, so I just decided to do this to save myself stress :) Plus I think it's sweet that S's parents would do this for them :D
