Angel Boy Chapter 25, a mortal instruments fanfic

So anyway, I was feeling in an update-y mood so I wrote the next chapter :) Hope you like it xox

Will asked me to go out to dinner with him, as a "not-date-only-friends-outing" for the next night so I decided to keep shopping to find something to wear. After Will left me, I went into a shop filled with pretty dresses and started searching. After about half an hour, I found a beautiful, green-as-spring-grass dress that was floaty and would reach to just above my knees. I went and tried it on and found that it matched my eyes, perfectly and looked quite nice so I went to the register and bought the dress. Then, I decided to go home to find a pair of heels that would match. When I got home, I went to my room and pulled out my pair of white, six-inch heels. I tried them on with the dress and they matched nicely. So I hung the dress up with the heels sitting underneath and went to grab something to eat.

I raided the cupboard in the hope of finding something to eat, but alas! We had not been here long enough to buy anything. So I left Mum a not saying I had gone grocery shopping and that I would pay for them if she paid me back. So I left the house and went to the local supermarket. There I bought basic supplies and just as I was heading to the register (A/N: OMG! I just made a connection here with The Benchwarmers - have you seen that movie? Review if you have :) And how Richie is like "Hey Brad, be a stud and point us to the register..or register-er!" Anyway, back to the story) I bumped into a familiar looking body.

"You again, C-c-Clary?"

"Oh, sorry. I keep bumping into you! Hey Will"

"What are you doing here?"

"Oh, you know. Hunting elephants..." (A/N: Always wanted to use that line :P)

"Alright, alright, no need to be sarcastic, Clary!"

"So, how's life treating you?"

"It's treating me well, and yourself? You all prepared for tomorrow night?"

"Um..I actually..um..bought a new dress and everything..."

"You didn't have to do that for me!"

"Well, I did. So you'd better be grateful! I gotta go, see you later."

"Wait, Clary! Let me get your number, so I can call you later," Will said.

"Sure, hold on" I dug my phone out of my bag and told him my number. Then I went to pay for the stuff I had bought before returning home.

When I got home, I saw that Mum was in my room and wondering why I had bought a new dress.

"Hey Mum," I called out

"Clary, why did you buy a new dress? And why is it set out with shoes and everything?"

"Oh well, I met a guy who asked me to go out with him to dinner," I replied.

"Clary, what about Jace?"

She's right! What about Jace? How could I just forget about him and replace him?

"Oh, it's only as a friend date, not as a date-date"

"If you're sure. I like the dress, anyway, it's quite pretty,"

I proceeded to put the groceries away and then sat on the couch to read a book. I was currently in the middle of reading Percy Jackson - The Battle Of The Labyrinth and was almost finished. I was up to the part where Percy is in Mt. St Helens and is hiding in the cart in the room of telkhines - the part sea lion, part human, weird looking things and they had just opened the cart to find Percy hiding there.

"New lesson, class. Most monsters will vaporise when sliced with a celestial bronze sword. This change is perfectly normal, and will happen to you right now if you don't BACK OFF!" To my surprise, it worked. The monsters backed off, but there was at least twenty of them. My fear factor wasn't going to last that long. I jumped out of the cart, yelled "CLASS DISMISSED!" and ran for the exit.

I laughed out loud - I loved Percy Jackson. It was hilarious!

After about an hour, I finished the book and so I decided to call Jace on his phone.

*Ring ring. Ring ring.*

"Hello?"

"Jace! How are you?" I asked.

"I'm very good, how are you, babe?"

"I'm good, I'm missing you..."

"I'm missing you as well, babe." Just then, I heard a distinctly female voice say:

"Jacey? Who is it? Are you done?"

I heard Jace reply "Shhhh!" I was speechless.

"Clary? Are you still there?"

"Jace, get stuffed" I said and hung up.

I sat there on the couch. How could he? It was only two days since I left him and he had already replaced me. But aren't you doing the same thing with Will? NO! I'm not! We are friends, nothing more! He was obviously together with whoever that brat was and so we were done.

I went and put on my CD of favourite songs. Ironically, the first song that came on was Break Your Heart by Taio Cruz. I guess it was true what Jace's sister told me about him - he really would end up breaking my heart...

I was in tears by the end of the song. I loved him so much and yet he broke my heart...

**Jace's POV**

I felt so bad...

"Jacey? Jacey, let's get back to it.."

"Not now, Milly! Just go, please..."

"Fine, be like that...don't call me..."

After Milly left, I went out into the kitchen and saw my mum, Maryse sitting at the table.

"Jace? Could I speak with you?"

"Sure, Mum,"

"Jace? Was that Milly just storming out the front door?"

"Yes Mum"

"Jace, you know that I don't like seeing you like this, because Clary is gone. I understand you miss her but that is no reason to go back to your old ways - that is no reason to go back to those...for lack of a better word...sluts. That is why your father and I have decided that we want to set you up with a respectable girl that we know and that we want you to get to know her."

"Mum, you know I can't do that. I love Clary."

"And that's why Kaelie walked out of here half-dressed, is it?"

I sighed. She was right and I knew it. "What's her name?"

"Her name is Mira and she is a lovely girl," Maryse replied.

"When am I meeting her?"

"Soon, she will be here in about half an hour so go and clean up"

I left the kitchen and went for a quick shower. Then I chose black jeans and a plain grey T-Shirt and my Converse, before heading back out to the kitchen again.

**Jocelyn POV**

"Clary? Clary, are you in here?" I was in the dining room trying to find my daughter when finally, I found her lying on her back in the corridor with tears falling down her face.

"Clary, baby? What's up?"

"He cheated, Mum. I left and two days later, he cheated on me with the school slut...he knows I hate Milly and then he goes and cheats on me with her," Clary replied.

"Clary, darling. Aren't you going out with Will, tomorrow?"

"I told you! We are just friends! Nothing will happen, because I loved Jace!"

I sat back on my heels and studied my daughter. I knew she loved Jace but I was planning on keeping her here with me instead of letting her go back to Jace again. Especially now that he had cheated on her. Plus, I had just gotten off the phone with Maryse who had told me that she was getting Jace to move on with a nice, young girl. I figured I may as well try the same thing with Clary.

"Clary, I think you should go with Will and have fun. Don't let this thing with Jace stop you - just go and have fun. And if anything happens and you end up together, don't fight it. Just go with the flow."

"I can't Mum. I love Jace. But I'll try to have fun"

Ok, there you go. Only been two or three days -I hope you are proud of me. I'm proud of me! I've never updated this quickly...but I hope you liked this chapter and please please please review if you liked it. I will write the next chapter hopefully in the next week and hopefully it will be up before next weekend or on the weekend.
