Trip to America Part Five
I don't own Digimon
Chapter Twenty Six: It Has Hit the Fan
Later in the evening the DigiDestined were all sitting around a small fire and were all deep in thought at what had transpired between them and Daisuke.
"I can't believe that Daisuke didn't create that Digimon that has been attacking us all this time," Yolei said in shock.
"I could have told you that," TK snapped at her.
"I guess in all that we have seen Daisuke do as the Empress, we couldn't see other possibilities," Ken admitted sadly.
"I think you are right Ken, but doesn't it seem odd that Willis was so defensive when he was asked about where that Digimon came from?" Kari asked the group who all nodded their heads in agreement.
"Now that you mention it, that Digimon did seem to be interested with that kid and Daisuke; why else would it tell us to leave or stay away?" Cody asked scratching his head.
"You got me there Cody, looks like we will have to deal with this in the morning," TK said, and everyone voiced their agreement.
"Alright, good night guys," Kari said as everyone went to sleep. Meanwhile, far from the DigiDestined was Daisuke who was sitting high in a tree, on a branch looking into the sky. She saw the moon come out from behind the clouds and sighed.
"Of all the people that I had to run into, why did it have to be them?" she asked herself, voice filled with frustration, anger, and sadness. She then heard a noise from below her and she looked down to see Willis, Terriermon, and Veemon looking up at her.
"Hey Dai, we've been looking for you," Willis called to her, and she just nodded her head and looked away from the trio. She then heard a few grunts of effort and looked down to see Willis climbing up to the branch she was on. He soon arrived and he sat against the trunk of the tree while Daisuke sat in front of him. "I can take a guess that those people and you have bad blood, right?" he asked Daisuke who looked at him and she nodded her head slightly. "I see, and I guess this Empress that glasses wearing girl called you has something to do with it," Willis said.
"Gold star detective," Daisuke said to him, and Willis chuckled slightly at her.
"Funny, so do you want to tell me at all? I mean, you were about to tell me before everything went to hell," he said, and Daisuke nodded her head.
"Yeah I was about to. I will, but only if you tell me why that Digimon is after you?" Daisuke told him, and Willis sighed in defeat, knowing it was going to happen sooner or later.
"Are you sure you want to know?" Willis asked her.
"Yes I do," Daisuke said, and the next thing she knew, Willis had grabbed her and pulled her into him so that she was now leaning back into him.
"Get comfortable, this is going to be a long story," he said to her, missing the blush forming on Daisuke's cheeks. "A few years ago, a DigiEgg came out of my computer and hatched into twin Digimon, Terriermon and Kokomon. For so long I had wanted some friends, and I finally got them. They were like my own companions, it was awesome," Willis said with a smile as Terriermon and Veemon climbed onto the branch as well. "I relied on them and they relied on me, we did everything together. But then one day, I got this stupid idea to create my very own DigiEgg on the computer to create more Digimon for me," he said with regret in his voice.
"I take it that wasn't the smartest decision?" Veemon asked Willis who nodded his head.
"Yeah, before the DigiEgg could even hatch, a virus infected it and it became Diaboromon," Willis told them.
"Diaboromon!?" Veemon and Daisuke exclaimed in shock.
"Are you telling me that the Digimon that was running rampant around the internet a few years ago was created by you?" Daisuke asked him in surprise.
"Yes, and when Tai and Matt managed to finally defeat him I was so happy that the nightmare was finally over, but it was just beginning. The virus hunted us down and took Kokomon away from me, and it became Wendingomon and now Antlyamon," Willis replied and Daisuke looked at him.
"I know how you feel," She said.
"Yeah right," Willis huffed.
"It is true, a few weeks ago I gave an evil Digimon called Milleniummon a body. He nearly destroyed me and Veemon, but we managed to defeat him," Daisuke told Willis who looked at her in shock.
"Okay, but that still doesn't explain why that glasses wearing girl called you Empress," Willis said.
"It is because for a few months, or maybe it was a few years I can't remember, I was the Digimon Empress," Daisuke replied.
"Who?" Willis asked in confusion.
"I was the ruler of the digital world, or more like I was trying to be. I captured Digimon and put dark rings on them to get them to obey me, but it wasn't enslavement it was more like a coercion to follow me and accept me as the leader. Before I could actually succeed, those guys stopped me from doing so, and I was so angry at them for it, I even care a lot about one of them," Daisuke said and Willis and Terriermon looked at her in surprise.
"Really?" Willis asked her, and she nodded sadly. "I thought it was worse than that," he said, and Daisuke and Veemon gasped and looked at him.
"Say what, didn't you hear me I was…" Daisuke started but Willis shushed her.
"Yeah I heard you, but I don't really care so what if you were evil before, do you regret it?" Willis asked her.
"Well, yes I do, but…" Daisuke trailed off.
"Well if you regret it that is fine with me," Willis said to her, and Daisuke looked at him in shock.
"But after all I did, you don't care?" she asked him.
"Well I'm not happy that you were a Digimon tyrant for a bit, but no one is perfect; everyone does bad things," he replied embracing Daisuke reassuringly, who smiled.
"Thank you, so are we friends now?" she asked him, and Willis laughed.
"Of course we are, you have helped me a lot you know. Now come on, let's go get some sleep so we can fight Antlyamon tomorrow," he told Daisuke and the two Digimon, who all nodded their heads back at Willis and they decided to return to the house to sleep. The next morning, the two humans and their Digimon partners were in the meadow that surrounded the house, and were waiting for something.
"So how long before Kokomon turns up?" Veemon asked.
"Yeah, or do we have to find him?" Daisuke added.
"Don't worry about that, he will find us first," Willis said, and true to his words, the wind started to pick up and a growl was heard. Antlyamon appeared before them both.
"Go back," he said.
"I did, what more do you want?" Willis asked him, a hint of desperation in his tone.
"D...De...destroy," Antlyamon said.
"Say what?" Daisuke asked the Ultimate that looked down at her.
"DESTROY!" Antlyamon bellowed, the ground shaking as he did so.
"This guy has anger issues," Daisuke quipped, and Willis gave her a glare and she chuckled. "Bad timing, right?" she asked, and he nodded his head.
Antlyamon roared and he swung his fists down towards the four of them. However, the group managed to duck out of the way and Antlyamon hit nothing but the ground, sending up nothing dust and debris. Meanwhile, the DigiDestined saw the cloud of smoke a distance from the battle.
"Looks like that Digimon is back," Ken said grimly.
"Yeah, let's go guys, we need to make up for our previous mistake and help disable that aggressive Digimon," TK said to the rest of the DigiDestined, who all looked at him and nodded their heads.
"Right," they all chorused before they took off towards the battle. Back with Daisuke and Willis, they looked up at Antlyamon who gazed back down.
"Destroy," he repeated.
"We heard you the first time," Terriermon said.
"Terriermon be careful he is stronger now," Willis called to his partner.
"Got 'ya," he said as he jumped into the air. "TERRIERMON DIGIVOLVE INTO GARGOMON!" Gargomon landed and stared down Antlyamon while Daisuke looked to her partner who nodded.
"Ready buddy?" she asked him.
"Need you ask," Veemon said, and Daisuke smiled before she took out her D-3 which gave off a blue glow, and Veemon glowed blue as well. "VEEMON DIGIVOLVE INTO EXVEEMON!" Ex-Veemon took flight before he charged towards Antlyamon, and Gargomon followed after him. "VEE-LASER!" ExVeemon said, crossing his arms over his chest and he fired an x shaped beam of light towards Antlyamon and the Ultimate level Digimon jumped out of the way avoiding the attack. He saw Gargomon jump at him.
"GARGO PELLETS!" the bunny Champion shouted, lifting his Gatling guns at Antlyamon. He fired a barrage of green bullets towards Antlyamon who decided to backflip through the air, avoiding the attacks.
"EX-VEE KICK!" Ex-Veemon shouted as he tried to kick Antlyamon in the face. The large bunny grabbed ExVeemon's leg and threw him back towards Daisuke who managed to jump out of the way just as her partner landed where she had been standing.
"ExVeemon!" she shouted in worry. Willis gritted his teeth.
"Gargomon, give them a hand!" he shouted. Gargomon immediately started shooting at Antlyamon again, but the agile Ultimate leapt through the blasts and lunged at Gargomon.
"TREASURE AXES!" Antlyamon roared, and its hands turned into vicious-looking axes and slashed them at Gargomon, who barely managed to parry with his hand-guns. Even as the Champion blocked the attack, Gargomon's guard began to crumble. Fortunately, the other combatant joined in.
"VEE-LASER!" The x-shaped ray of light struck Antlyamon, causing it to stagger backwards. Gargomon tried to take advantage of the opening.
"BUNNY PUMMEL!" he shouted, and his Gatling gun was covered in green energy before he jumped and tried to punch Antlyamon in the gut. The bunny Ultimate took another, this time deliberate, step backwards to avoid the attack. When Gargomon tried to follow up, Antlyamon disappeared in a blur of speed and reappeared behind him. His hands still shaped like axes, he swung them at Gargomon. Gargomon noticed Antlyamon and tried to drop to the ground, but only succeeded in avoiding deletion as non-fatal gashes were opened in his back. Antlyamon then kicked Gargomon hard towards ExVeemon who caught the badly injured Champion.
"Gargomon!" Willis yelled in panic. Daisuke also gritted her teeth.
"He was strong enough as a Champion; I hate to say it, but neither of our partners are in the same league as he is," Daisuke said grimly.
"Destroy," Antlyamon repeated as Willis stood in front of Daisuke protectively, and she slightly blushed.
"Hey, need help you guys?" They both looked over to see the DigiDestined run over to them with their Digimon partners.
"I hate to say it, but we need your help," Daisuke admitted coldly.
"Alright you heard the lady, let's go guys," Ken said as he took out his D-Terminal and Cody and Yolei did the same.
"DIGI-ARMOUR ENERGISE!" they cried as one, and their Digimon partners were bathed in light.
"WORMMON ARMOUR DIGIVOLVE TOO SHADRAMON THE INSECT OF COURAGE."
"ARMADILLIOMON ARMOUR DIGIVOLVE TOO DIGMON THE DRILL OF KNOWLEDGE," Antlyamon's ears perked up in interested as he witnessed the Digivolving.
"GATOMON DIGIVOLVE TO BUTTERFLYMON THE FASCINATION OF KNOWLEDGE."
"HAWKMON ARMOUR DIGIVOLVE TOO HALSEMON THE WINGS OF LOVE." Shadramon charged towards Antlyamon and leapt high into the air.
"FLARE SHOT!" he shouted before firing three fireballs towards Antlyamon, who rolled to the side before leaping at Shadramon. He swatted him out of the sky onto the ground where he skidded.
"Ouch," Daisuke said wincing.
"I will trip him up," Digmon claimed before he stumbled over his own feet. "Almost tripped myself," he said as Antlyamon turned on him. "Uh oh." Antlyamon took advantage of Digmon's clumsiness and swung both axes at the drill Digimon. Butterflymon tried to save him.
"HONEY STRAW!" she shouted, and a honey-coloured thick liquid was shot out at Antlyamon who swayed out of the way and continued her attack on Digmon. The chrome digizoid covering Digmon protect him from being cut in half, but gouges were still cut through the tough material and Digmon was sent flying dozens of feet backwards.
"Digmon," Cody cried in worry for his partner. Before they could do anything else, Antlyamon disappeared with a burst of speed and reappeared in front of Butterflymon. She cried out in surprise, but was unable to react further when both axes were brought down. They cleaved through her armour and cut two extremely deep gashes into her shell. Her form glowed and was reduced back into that of Gatomon.
"Gatomon!" Kari screamed in worry. Cody bit his lip.
"One of our partners is down already, this isn't good."
"TEMPEST WING!" Halsemon cried before he dove towards the Ultimate level attacking Digimon and spun around in a tornado. Halsemon neared Antlyamon, but the Ultimate leapt away with speed too great for any but the faster Digimon could track before blurring forwards in a charge, axes at the ready. Halsemon managed to swerve upwards successfully and avoid the x-shaped slash that would have quartered him.
"We need to help now," TK said grimly, and Kari, Gatomon, and Patamon nodded their heads in agreement. "Patamon digivolve!" he said to his partner.
"Right, PATAMON DIGIVOLVE TOO ANGEMON!" In Patamon's place now stood an angel-like Digimon with six wings and holding a yellow staff in his hand.
"So TK's Digimon can go champion too huh?" Daisuke thought to herself.
"TREASURE AXES!" Antlyamon shouted before he lunged at Angemon, axes raised for the kill.
"HAND OF FATE!" he cried, firing a beam of light from his hand and hitting Antlyamon on the face. When the light faded, the bunny Ultimate had an ugly burn marring its face, making his scowl grotesque.
"MEDITATION CURE," the virus Ultimate intoned, and the injury on his face healed before their very eyes. Daisuke couldn't help but sigh with exasperation.
"Come on, what is it with enemies who can regenerate?" she complained, before he face turned serious once again. "He'll be very hard to put down; an Ultimate that can heal itself. We need a miracle."
"Vee-Laser!" Ex-Veemon shouted, getting back to his feet and firing an x-shaped beam directly at Antlyamon's back. The Ultimate whirled around and sliced through the attack with one of its axes. Angemon took advantage of the opening to release another hand of fate. The bunny reacted faster than any of them had thought though, and leapt into the air. It rotated as it spun and landed smoothly on its feet, eyes wary. All of the Digimon that he had thrown around in the past couple of minutes were back on their feet, though some were definitely the worse for wear. As Gargomon stood by Ex-Veemon's side, Shadramon, Angemon, and Halsemon joined them, ready to unite against the Ultimate.
"Outnumbered and outmatched, it is over pal," Yolei said to it, and it deadpanned before rushing towards the group of enemies. The allied Digimon met the charge.
"FLARE BUSTER!" Shadramon roared, body completely engulfed in flames.
"BUNNY PUMMEL!" Gargomon shouted, guns up for another attempt at fighting.
"GOLD RUSH!" Digmon yelled, drills flying forward.
"TEMPESET WING!" Halsemon once again tried the whirlwind attack it had attempted earlier.
"ANGEL ROD!" Angemon yelled, his staff raised and he flew in from above.
"CRITICAL CRUNCH!" ExVeemon roared, teeth glowing as it flew around to flank the virus Ultimate. The enemy just smirked.
"BUNNY BLADES!" It began to spin around, hand-axes extended. This created a cutting whirlwind that collided with all the attacking Digimon. Shad Ramon's fire was extinguished, cuts running down his entire body and launching him backwards. Gargomon met the whirlwind with its guns and was instantly sent flying. Digmon's drills were knocking away, and Halsemon's tornado just broke apart upon contact with Antlyamon's axes, propelling him away and covering his body in deep gashes. Angemon, like Gargomon, blocked successfully but was knocked backwards before regaining his feet. ExVeemon actually leapt backwards when the attack began, and remained uninjured. Antlyamon wasn't finished though.
"DESTROY!" he bellowed. He launched himself with great speed towards ExVeemon and brought his axes down. ExVeemon managed to actually catch Antlyamon's arms as they came down, halting the axe blades only inches before they would have bitten into the blue dragon. Not stymied by this resistance, Antlyamon kicked ExVeemon with shattering forced away towards the rest of the downed Digimon. Angemon flew over to him.
"Are you okay?" he asked in concern. ExVeemon grimaced.
"'Been better. This guy is tough; not Kimeramon tough, but still much stronger than we are. Even if those guys were still up to it, a group of Armoured Digimon and a few Champions won't cut it." Even as he said this, one by one Shadramon, Digmon, and Halsemon glowed and returned to their tired Rookie forms. Their partners cried out their names and rushed up to them.
"Hawkmon, are you okay?" Yolei asked desperately.
"I do believe we miscalculated," Hawkmon chuckled weakly.
"This is terrible," Ken said, fear lacing his voice. TK nodded.
"It's not, but it's not over just yet. We can't give up now, not just because we've run into someone stronger than us." Antlyamon was tired of waiting.
"Destroy!" he yelled, and ran at great speed towards the DigiDestined and their downed partners. It was like time froze. Angemon and ExVeemon rushed towards Antlyamon, trying to stop him. However, the Ultimate was too fast to catch in time, and too mobile for their ranged attacks to intercept them. It seemed like to Ken, Yolei, and Cody that they were about to die. Suddenly, each of their partners began to glow, feeding off of their immense desire to save their partners.
"WORMMON, DIGIVOLVE INTO STINGMON!" As the light faded from Wormmon, a large, dark green, anthropomorphic green beetle was standing at the height of a grown man, with long claws and black metal around his feet and hands.
"HAWKMON, DIGIVOLVE INTO AQUILAMON!" Hawkmon turned into a large red and white bird with black horns and claws.
"ARMADILLOMON, DIGIVOLVE INTO ANKYLOMON!" Armadillomon grew much larger and gained spikes and more armour. All three of them were ready to resume the battle, and Antlyamon skidded to a halt, surveying them warily. Each of them attacked the Ultimate in their own way.
"MOON SHOOTER!" Stingmon yelled, and fired a long white needle from the bracers above each claw. The needle was deflected with a swing from Antlyamon's axes.
"BLAST RINGS!" Aquilamon yelled, and yellow glowing rings were shot from his mouth towards Antlyamon. The bunny leapt into the air to avoid the attack.
Ankylomon followed up while Antlyamon could no longer manoeuvre. He jumped an amazing distance into the air and swung his mace-like tail at his opponent. "TAIL HAMMER!" he shouted. Antlyamon caught the attack on its axes, but it was sent flying into the earth. The remaining Champions, Angemon, ExVeemon, and Gargomon took the opportunity.
"HAND OF FATE!"
"VEE LASER!"
"GARGO PELLETS!"
The three attacks collided with the fallen Antlyamon with an explosion, and dust filled the air. "Did we get them?" Daisuke asked hopefully.
"MEDITATION CURE," a deep voice said coming from the dust cloud, and all of the Digimon and their partners swore. All of them launched the same attack back into the cloud, but a somewhat burned but rapidly healing Antlyamon jumped out of the way in a serious of impressive leaps. In only a few bounds it had reached the place ExVeemon and Gargomon stood. It fully extended its arms. "BUNNY BLADES!" He spun around into a bladed twister and struck both of them, cutting a gash across both of their chests before them could completely clear the area. The force of the cut and whirlwind sent them flying over a dozen feet back where they landed prone on the ground, their entire bodies' sore.
Antlyamon's next target was where the three newest Champions, Stingmon and Ankylomon stood next to each other, with Aquilamon flying just overhead... It lunched there in a single leap, and as it approached, it reached its arms fully out again and began to spin. "BUNNY BLADES!" he roared, and the three new Champions were met with the razor sharp twister. Aquilamon received a vicious slash across the chest that began bleeding profusely and was launched backwards, only barely regaining control over his flight before crashing. Ankylomon's shell held up remarkably, though almost half-a-dozen nasty cuts dug their way into his shell before he too was sent flying. Stingmon managed to fly backwards and avoided anything but superficial scrapes.
"SPIKING STRIKE!" Stingmon countered, a purple spike emitting from one of his bracers. He lunged towards the still spinning Antlyamon, but the spike was deflected as if he had hit a solid wall and was once again sent backwards. Antlyamon stopped spinning and had a smirk on its face.
"Hey guys, I think I have a plan!" Daisuke called to her fellow tamers. They all ran next to each other, and she began to explain. Once she was done a few seconds later, the group was in agreement. It might be their only chance. Antlyamon for once was waiting for their move, which suited the DigiDestined and their partners just fine.
"ExVeemon, go attack his flank!" Daisuke yelled, and the large blue dragon nodded.
"You got it Daisuke!" he exclaimed, and flew towards the waiting virus Ultimate.
"You to Stingmon, attack the other side!" Ken added, and Stingmon nodded and he to flew towards Antlyamon.
"Everyone else, attack!" Yolei yelled, and all of the other Digimon added in their signature moves.
"HAND OF FATE!'
"GARGO PELLTS!"
"BLAST RING!" Ankylomon, lacking an effective ranged attack, placed himself in front of the others once the attacks were sent, ready to defend. Antlyamon noticed the attacks coming from all side and extended his arms once again.
"Grab his arms!" Daisuke screamed urgently.
"BUNNY BL-"
The virus was cut off when ExVeemon grabbed one arm and Stingmon the other, stopping the entire attack cold. "Now EVERYONE ATTACK HIM AND DON'T STOP!" All of the Champion Digimon poured their attacks into the held Ultimate. They knew that, if given a moment, the Ultimate could break free and heal itself. Their opponent's body began to reflect the fury of the attacks coming at it. The Digimon and their partners thought for sure the battle was theirs.
"MANTRA CHANT!" Antlyamon bellowed in pain, eyes wild. Instantly the attacking Digimon felt the effectiveness of their attack plummet and injuries stopped accumulating on the Ultimate's body. A moment later, a pulse of energy was released that sent ExVeemon and Stingmon flying backwards. The incoming attacks were also knocked aside and finally ceased. However, instead of healing, Antlyamon fell to a knee.
"Destroy!" he gasped, and lightning started to crackle around him. He was engulfed in a purple sphere that pulsated.
"Not again, we can't take another one," TK pleaded, a look of desperation on his face that was mirrored by his fellow humans. The sphere that had surrounded Antlyamon continued to pulsate and crackle with electricity, the occasional stream of data coming off from it.
"He's Digivolving isn't he?" Ken asked darkly. Willis nodded.
"Looks like it," he said mostly to himself. The sphere then broke apart, and what emerged was a purple, blue and ugly green Digimon that looked like a jester with yellow eyes looked at them all.
"What we feared came to pass," ExVeemon said grimly. "He had become a Mega-level Digimon, Cherubimon."
"Where is the golden DigiEgg when you need it?" Daisuke asked rhetorically. She shook her head. "Well we can't do anything about that. Let's face it guys, our chance of winning has dropped exponentially, but that's no reason to roll over and give up." The other DigiDestined matched her determined features, and both they and their Digimon partners stood ready to fight against this new

Omake: Yolei's performance.
"I can't believe that Daisuke didn't create that Digimon that has been attacking us all this time," Yolei said in shock. She suddenly stopped and shook her head. She threw her script onto the ground and stepped on it. Then the lavender haired girl took off her glasses with an exasperated sigh.
"Why do I have the stubborn bratty role?" Yolei complained. "Why not TK? He was whiny in season one wasn't he? Or Cody, he's younger than us." Knight of Loyalty sighs and turns off the filming camera.
"You want to know why you have to play that role Yolei?" he asked blankly. She nodded while the others on stage edged away. "There are two reasons. The first is that's how you acted in the show. This may be played up a little, but honestly not much." Yolei scowled and tried to interject, but was stopped with a raised hand. "The second is because I wrote this story and that's how I want you to act. If you have a problem with this I'm sure I can arrange and unfortunate and permanent encounter with a rogue Digimon," he threatened. Yolei's eyes went wide.
"B-but Impstar wouldn't let you…" she stuttered, and Knight of Loyalty shook his head.
"Who do you think edited the entire thing? Trust me, if he actually disagreed with your portrayal I'd never hear the end of it…" he trailed off with a mutter. Yolei huffed, and he sighed. "Okay, what would make you happy about following the script?" Knight of Loyalty asked resignedly. Yolei puffed up in self-importance.
"Well to start with, becoming the leader of the DigiDestined-"
"Denied", he immediately countered. "Last chance Yolei." She sighed.
"Can I at least be mature to realize that Daisuke isn't as bad a person as I thought she was and she honestly wants to help?" she asked plaintively.
"Oh don't worry about that, in the next story arc-" Just as Knight of Loyalty said this, another figure rushed into the room and thrust a gag into his mouth.
"Sorry, I can't let you give any spoilers," the figure said apologetically. "I'm Impstar, his off and on beta. See ya!" Impstar dragged the furious Knight of Loyalty off stage.
