Date May 13

You woke up as you usually would, put your make up on and got dressed, before making your way down the steps. You were greeted by Nanako and Dojima and sat down with them to have breakfast.

"Hey, you go to Junes pretty often, right?" Dojima asked you. You tensed a bit, but nodded.

"Yeah, just about everyday, why?" You replied.

"If you see that slacker Adachi, could you let me know? And tell his ass to get back to work!" He said. You sweat dropped, but nodded.

"Sure..."

Afterward, you walked toward school with Nanako, she ran off with one of her school friends, while you met up with Chie, Yukiko and Yosuke walking the rest of the way to class with them. When you walked inside, you spotted Ai at the shoeboxes. You split up with your friends to go talk to her, perhaps you could make her reconsider attending soccer practice to help Daisuke.

"Hey, Ai-san," you greeted politely.

"Huh? Who're you?" She asked.

"Oh, I'm [y/n]," you said.

"Okay, so? What do you want?" She questioned with a slight frown.

"I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out sometime." You offered. Maybe getting to know her better would help you in convincing her to be a part of the team, plus you'd get to make a new friend! And a female one at that. Yukiko and Chie were so close, you didn't really have a girl friendship like that; it'd be nice to have one.

"Huh? You wanna hang out with me?" She asked. She seemed surprised any woman would want to spend time with her, or anyone for that matter. "Ya know I'm not a lesbian, right?" You sweat dropped.

"Um... of course. I'm not either." You said.

"…Whatever. You should skip your afternoon classes some time. We'll go somewhere far away." She told you with a smirk.

"...Okina?" You questioned jokingly. She let a slight smirk grace her lips.

"I kinda like you already." She said, before she walked off. You weren't really sure if it was right to skip your afternoon classes, what if Dojima found out?! But in order to get closer to Ai, you'd have to. Besides, it might be fun. You returned to your homeroom, getting there just as the late bell rung.

"Where's Yosuke-kun?" You asked Chie as you sat down.

"Bathroom." She and Yukiko said at the same time.

"Figures..."

The day progressed like normal and as the afternoon came around, you looked all over for Ai, but couldn't find her. You sighed softly in defeat, before returning to class. At the end of the day, you went in search of Adachi for Dojima. You stepped into Junes spotting him hiding out by the food court.

"Adachi-san...?" You questioned him as you appraoched.

"Hm? Oh hey, what's the matter? Can I help you?" He asked as he turned to face you.

"Ojisama sent me to see what you were up to..." You started before the male turned pale.

"R-Really? D-Dojima-san?!" He said. "W-well, obviously I'm working! It's easy to investigate here with all the peopple around. It's cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It's a pretty good place too... yeah I think I've said enough." He said trying to hide his fountain soda and fries behind his back.

"I see, well would you mind if I helped you with this "investigating"?" You asked him slyly trying to catch him in the act.

"Oh? That's a little strange, but okay. What did you come here for? Killing time? Tough to do out here in the sticks, isn't it? There's nothing here, it's not like the city at all." He mused. You nodded.

"You can say that again..."

"I knew you'd understand. You're from the city too, right? Get this-my first assignment here was to track down a cat. My suit got so dirty and they wouldn't expense me the dry cleaning bill! Next, I played peacemaker in a spat that some married couple was having. Can you believe that they've got the police doing that stuff?!" He vented. He didn't really seem to like the town lifestyle.

"That sucks..." You mused. Adachi was rather strange. One moment he was dopey and friendly, the next he was whiny and complaining... Not that it was really a bad thing. Everyone has other sides, you've surely learned that...

"But it's more dangerous lately, so I can't kick back. There's that one case, ya know? It's still not solved yet. The higher ups don't know what to do. They keep changing procedure on the fly... Oops! I hope I'm not making you nervous. You have mothing to worry about, you know I'll protect you." He said, he stepped a bit closer to you as he spoke those words. You suddenly felt a bit uneasy.

"Uhh... thank you, Adachi-san." You said. "I appreciate it." At that moment, the elevator dinged and an elderly woman walked toward the two of you. Adachi hurried hid behind you as she walked passed. She seemed to be looking for someone.

"Phew, that was close... I'd better hurry and get back to work, you head on home too. Oh! Don't tell Dojima-san I was at Junes, okay?" He said, before scurrying off.

"O-Okay..." You said with a sigh.

"Thou art I… and I am thou…"

"Thou hast established a new bond…"

"It brings thee closer to the truth…"

"Thou shalt be blessed with creating personas of the Jester Arcana…"

You walked the rest of the way home and walked inside. Dojima was sitting on the couch reading the paper and Nanako sat in the floor watching TV. Take out sat on the table.

"Welcome back," Dojima greeted. You smiled softly grabbing yourself a plate and sat down with them to eat. Nanako turned on the News for Dojima and everyone sat back to watch.

"Young men recklessly riding their motorcycles, disturbing the peace of a quiet rural town..." The narrator started. "Our special report took a turn for the violent when one of the apparent leader attacked the camera crew!" A young man whom looked rather familiar to you appeared on the screen.

"The hell are you punks doing here?!" The male asked.

"That voice…" Dojima started putting his paper down to look at the screen.

"This ain't a show! Get bent!" The male yelled, before it finally clicked. He was the boy that yelled at you when you first arrived and the one that helped you in Junes when you could reach something!

"Still up to the same old tricks…?" Dojima muttered.

"Do you know him, Dad?" Nanako questioned.

"Mmm, well, I know him through work. His name's Kanji Tatsumi… he's quite a handful. He's been crushing biker gangs in the area since middle school. But I thought he got into a high school and started attending class. Huh..." Dojima mused. "Man, that blur sure is pointless. It's completely obvious who it is. The guy's family runs a historic textile shop. I think what happened was, he crushed the local bikers all by himself because the noise kept his mother up at night. It's a nice gesture, but he's way too violent… At this rate, his mother'll have to apologize again." You took in what he said. It didn't really seem like Kanji was all that bad, just a bit misunderstood.

"Oh, the weather report's showing on the bottom. It's going to rain tomorrow. I'll make sure to hang the laundry inside the house." Nanako said. You blinked rapidly. It's gonna rain tomorrow! You'd have to be sure to check the Midnight Channel! After dinner, the three of you watched TV together, before you showered and settled in for bed.
