Okay, this will be the end of Part 2! There might be a Part 3! Or I might just make random one-shots when I feel like it. I really hope I'm not throwing too much in all at once but the idea was there and I couldn't draw it out. So, without further ado, here's the end to A Lovely Affair Part 2!
Kisa 19
I returned to my room alone and was surprised to hear someone follow me in. I heard a sigh and as I smelled the air, knew it was Yusuke immediately.
"So the time has come?" he asked.
I nodded and turned.
"Kurama hasn't called me back and isn't answering when I call," I muttered.
"He's probably coming up with a plan with Yomi, or he lost the communicator," Yusuke said with a shrug, "I wouldn't dwell on it."
I groaned and squeezed my fists shut, nails biting into my skin.
"You couldn't have picked a better time to call though," he said.
"Why?" I asked.
He shrugged.
"Yusuke, you can talk to me," I murmured.
It was unusual for him to look this distraught.
"Keiko and I were having a fight," he muttered.
"I'm sorry!" I gasped.
Sure they had tiffs but from the way he sounded, this fight was serious. He looked at me and walked over to the bed, sitting down.
"She's upset that I have to fight again," he said, "She wants this damn perfect life that I can't give her."
"Yusuke," I murmured, "You know that's not true."
He looked at me in confusion.
"She wants what ever you give, and if that requires a little danger, she'll accept it, even if she's not happy about it," I said, "Give her some time."
"You must understand her, huh?" he asked, "With Hiei and Kurama always having to leave or fight in dangerous fights."
I nodded.
"I'm practically as useless as a non-spiritual human and it sucks sometimes," I replied honestly.
He shook his head.
"You're not useless," he said, "I can feel you growing stronger."
I snorted.
"Yeah, I'm like a pitiful demon now," I retorted.
"No, you're getting strong enough that I think you could really help us if they weren't coming after you specifically."
I blinked at him in surprise.
"Really?"
He nodded.
"One of these days, you'll have to really test your powers," he said, "Enter the demon world tournament."
"You think I could?!" I asked, excitement flooding me.
He grinned.
"Of course, if you train hard enough."
I cheered but as I heard the communicator go off, dread filled me.
"Yusuke, can I take this alone?" I asked.
He nodded and left the room. I opened the compact and gasped as I saw purple eyes staring at me.
"Ah, so I guessed right."
"Who are you? Where is Kurama?" I demanded.
He chuckled and stepped away, revealing a beaten and bloody Kurama. My gut dropped and I had to sit down.
"What have you done?!"
"Taken precautionary measures so he will not be able to fight us," the male demon said.
I noticed IV's coming out of his arms and felt anger fill me.
"Let him go," I commanded.
"Only if you offer yourself as a trade."
"How do I know you'll let him go?" I asked.
"Scouts honor," he said teasingly.
"I want a blood contract," I replied.
I had heard of this through Kurama last year, when he spoke of the Silver Ring Society and their slaves being forced to sign one of those. Apparently if you break the contract, you die through mysterious causes. Even strong demons are required to fulfill the contract they sign. He sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Fine, Higuchi, bring me a scroll."
I watched him prick his finger and write out a contract, resigning Kurama to be free when I come to their lair. For some reason, it seemed too easy.
"What's the catch?" I asked.
He chuckled.
"No catch, he's free and we get you," he said, "That's prize enough."
I stood and took a deep breath.
"Fine, give me directions," I said.
As I walked along, I found my steps faltering. Was this a trap? I couldn't take the chance that they really had Kurama and were draining him of life. I stepped quicker, with more dedication, and stopped in front of a small village with a large circle around it. I quirked an eyebrow and was surprised to see two men step forward, carrying Kurama. They tossed him over the line and I ran over.
"Kurama!"
He twitched and his eyes opened slightly.
"Kurama," I whispered.
"Kisa?" he asked, his voice hoarse.
I nodded and tears dropped down my cheeks, falling on his face.
"Come on succubus," the man I spoke to earlier said.
I held up a finger.
"Let me say goodbye, please."
He crossed his arms in waiting and I kissed Kurama gently.
"Good bye my love, tell Hiei I love him, and keep Akira away from these beasts," I whispered.
"You-You're not supposed to be here," he groaned.
He struggled to sit up but I pushed him back.
"Rest, when you're strong enough, get the others," I said, "You may make it back in time to save me."
The pain was unbearable. It felt like my veins were collapsing and I was losing every ounce of blood I held. Burning trickled down my arms and I bit my lip to keep from screaming.
"She's more resilient than we expected," a female said.
The leader nodded with a smirk.
"She's trying to be strong, but she will break soon," he said.
I shot him a glare before pain took over again, forcing my eyes to shut. I had been hooked up to this machine for at least half an hour. They had explained that it took time to get the demon blood flowing completely through a "dirty breed" and I could be hooked up for hours before I returned fully human, and then they would just drain me until I died. I heaved a sigh, the action being hard, and thought back to the past two and a half years. I had met these amazing people, become demon, mated with two beautifully, passionate men, had a wonderful daughter, and become sort-of siblings with a great guy. I could have definitely lived a worse life. A small smile came to my face and I felt myself falling into the depths of sleep. I heard a voice far away as I slept and felt panic at the words.
"She's human now, let's continue for a few minutes longer and she shall be done."
I fought hard to wake up, not wanting to go out so easily, but remembered it was my choice to come here alone. My choice to give myself up for Kurama. I would give my life for his any day. Tears streamed down my cheeks and I wrapped my arms around my legs as I sat. The darkness turned to a beautiful sun set and suddenly Hiei's voice burst into my mind.
"Kisa! Don't you dare let go!"
I smiled and chuckled. As brash as ever.
"Oh Hiei, it's okay," I said softly, "I lived as I wished to live, loved to the fullest, my only wish is to see Akira and my mates one last time."
"Then open your eyes idiot!"
I huffed a sigh but tried to comply with his order. It was hard. My eyes felt like they were cemented shut.
"It's so peaceful here Hiei."
"Do it for Akira! Do it for our future child!"
I had never heard Hiei so insistent.
"I love you Hiei, you know that?"
"Damn it, I love you too, now open your eyes!"
I just smiled and laid my head down. Hiei said he loved me! All was right in my world.
My scream echoed through the room as I jerked awake. Panic set in and I couldn't control my breathing.
"Where the fuck am I?!" I yelled.
A door slammed open and in poured people. I screeched and fell back, landing on the hard, cold floor. I pulled my gown tighter around me but shut my mouth as I recognized Kurama and Hiei at the front.
"Holy Jesus, don't do that shit!" I yelled.
I was engulfed in arms and voices crowded my ears, making it hard for me to discern any one voice until I heard, "Mommy!"
I jumped back and turned to see Akira toddling over. I dropped to my knees as tears filled my eyes. She was so much bigger it seemed! I pulled her into a hug and kissed her head repeatedly.
"Oh baby girl," I whispered.
She giggled and pulled away.
"Hi mommy," she said.
I turned to Kurama and he gave me a sad smile.
"You were out three months," he said.
"My God," I murmured.
That made her one and a half now.
"Was I in a coma?" I asked.
"Yes," Kurama said, "The trauma of blood loss forced your body to shut down and hibernate kind of."
I nodded and rose, clinging to Akira's hand.
"What of the Aslur?"
"They're gone."
I was surprised to see Yuki walk in the room.
"Thank you," I said.
He nodded and smiled.
"I'll take my leave now," he said, "I was staying until you got better, but it is time for me to leave now."
I hesitated but nodded.
"Thank you again Yuki," I said.
He smiled broadly and bowed.
"My pleasure Kisa, I will be in contact with Koenma if you all ever need my assistance again."
I looked down as Akira tugged at my gown.
"Mommy, tired," she said.
"Aww," I murmured, "You want to sleep?"
She nodded and rubbed her eyes, cuddling closer to me.
"I'll take her to the other room," Hiei said.
"No, it's fine," I said, rising.
I pulled her into my arms and sat on the edge of the bed, rocking her gently. She snuggled against my chest and into my arms tightly.
"Mommy?"
"Yes Akira?"
"No leave."
My heart broke with those words and I felt tears slip down my face.
"I won't ever leave you again baby," I promised.
I looked up at the group and felt my heart slowly mend. Everything was perfect, as it should be.
