November. Things had been going well with only the odd threat from Ben. Lucy had grown to look more and more like Rachel but she still had her fathers eyes. Sally had been doing well in school much to Rachel's and Eddie's pleasure. Rachel and Eddie decided that they may as well share the same car now everyone knows that they're living together. On the way to school they dropped Lucy off with Brenda and Geoffrey. They arrived at school getting a few strange glances were given as the three arrived to school but they ignored it as Sally went off and Eddie and Rachel made their way to Rachel's office. Rachel slumped back into the chair as Eddie did on the sofa. Come Christmas it would be the first full year that Rachel would have been headmistress at Waterloo Road and the staff were planning to do a this is your year for her even trying to do it without Eddie noticing. Sally knocked on the door to her mothers office and walked in,"Eddie can I have help with maths before the bell rings?" She asked innocently.
"Ye sure I'll be back later Rach for assembly," he said standing up from the sofa an heading out of the door.
Sally and Eddie made it to his classroom,"what do you need help with?" Eddie asked nicely,"nothing really have you got any photos of mum on your phone I could have?" Sally said trying not to let anything slip. "Yes why?" Eddie asked suspiciously in response. "Because I want to do a photo album for her for Christmas. Don't tell her. Can you send them to my phone please?" Eddie nodded his head an handed his phone to Sally,"pick the ones you want and do it quickly." Sally blue toothed the photos she wanted she was surprised at the amount he had of her . She picked the ones she wanted and headed off out the door screaming,"thanks," back to him waving.
Sally made her way down to the staff room she still had 15 minutes to spare until assembly. She knocked on the door and Steph answered,"you got them?"
"Yes I got them and one of Eddie's parents," she explained. "Ok come in quickly if either of them turn up say you need help with your French," Sally entered the staff room and made her way over to Steph's laptop which was sitting on the light coloured wooden table in the back of the room. Sally plugged her phone in and uploaded the photos it was only Steph and Sally who knew about this. They added the photos to the slideshow and Sally left making her way to the hall when Rachel came running into her,"what's wrong?"
"Your dad. My secrets coming out today love . Don't take anything to heart or go anywhere near him. I want you to stay near Eddie ok?"
Rachel said in a bit of a panic. "Ok mum you sure you're alright?"
"I'll be fine,"she said with a reassuring smile whilst squeezing her on the shoulder,"I best phone the LEA and governors quickly ok."
"You will keep your job will you?"
"I hope so love," Rachel said walking off on her mobile as everyone scrambled into the hall.
