As Randy sat and took in what John said, he knew the West Newbury native was completely right. Because of stubbornness on his end, he had somehow managed to-temporarily-end one of the best relationships he had ever been a part of in recent memory; and it was all because he had issues with his girlfriend's older brother, issues that could've been worked past with some proper explaining. And, Randy was going to do his best to work past these issues. He just hoped Seth would be open to talking things out...for the good of Sara and the new addition to their families.
As promised last chapter, here's a new chapter of The Shield's Sister that's got some Sara focus now. Just what lies ahead with our preggers brunette? Read on to find out, my dolls. =)
"And as you can see up on the screen, your baby's doing just fine," the obstetrician said as he ran the imaging wand across Sara's stomach. "As you can see right now, the baby is growing normally, and, in a few weeks, when you come back for your next appointment, we'll hopefully be able to see whether you'll be having a boy or a girl."
"Thanks, Doctor Everett," Sara said, smiling a bit at the doctor.
"It's no problem at all," Doctor Everett said, taking the wand away from Sara's stomach and rising from his seat. "Now, let me go get some stuff so that we can clean this gel off your stomach. And then, you'll be all good to go. I'm willing to bet your friends waiting for you are eager to know what I've told you."
"They probably are. After all, they're just a pair of concerned godmoms looking out for the health of their godchild," Sara said with a laugh. Watching Doctor Everett leave the room, Sara let out a sigh as she ran a hand over her still gel-covered stomach. While it was great of the brunette to hear that everything was going well with how her baby was growing, it still weighed on Sara that neither Randy nor Seth were there with her during an appointment like this. 'After all, I'm sure those two would want to be just as much in the know on how the baby's growing as Kaitlyn and Layla are,' Sara thought.
Sara's silent train of thought was broken by the sounds of the door being opened and Doctor Everett coming back to clean the gel off of her stomach, as the brunette was then helped off of the table. Walking out of the room, Sara was then joined by Kaitlyn and Layla, who immediately began to ask about how the baby was doing. Answering the main question that was sent her way, Sara reassured "Relax, you guys. Doctor Everett said that my baby's doing just fine. He even said that when I come back in a few weeks, I'll be able to find out whether I'm having a boy or a girl."
"That's fantastic news, love," Layla smiled.
"Does this mean we can start planning your baby shower now?" Kaitlyn grinned a bit.
"Easy now, Kait. First, we have to find out what Sara's having. Then, we can plan the shower," Layla said.
"Yes, mom," Kaitlyn joked. Turning to look at Sara, Kaitlyn asked "So, have you decided to let Randy and Seth know about your check-up yet?"
"I'm...actually still thinking about whether or not I want to," Sara said, rubbing her stomach.
"Why think about it? Just tell them," Kaitlyn urged.
"Kait, you know I want to. But..." Sara sighed. "I just don't even know if those two have been able to really figure out how to bury the hatchet with each other. I know that the health of my baby's important to the both of them, but..."
"Sara, love. You simply must stop worrying about all of this," Layla cut in. "Look. I know that all of this drama between your boyfriend and your brother has gotten entirely out of hand. But, haven't you noticed that when it at least came to you telling them about your baby that that was something that seemed to calm them down?"
"Yeah, I...I have," Sara said. Looking over to the Brit, Sara asked "You really think I could at least just tell them about how the baby's doing?"
Before Layla could answer, a cell phone ringing got the attention of the three women. After everyone checked their phones, the source of the ringing came from Sara's purse. Digging around among the contents of her bag, Sara produced her phone and saw that it was Randy calling.
Seeing both the name on the screen and Sara's reaction, Kaitlyn said "Hand it here, Sare. I'll answer it." Taking Sara's phone, Kaitlyn then answered it. "Hello, you have reached the phone of Sara Rollins. This is her ever-helpful assistant Kaitlyn Bonin. How can I help you today?"
"Hey, Kait. Is Sara around? I need to talk to her and tell her something," Randy said.
"Sara's busy right now, Viper, but I can pass on a message for you," Kaitlyn said.
"Can you tell Sare that I want to meet up with her and Seth and maybe talk soon," Randy said. "I've managed to sort some stuff out, so...I'm willing to give making nice with Seth a chance."
"Oh! OK, Randy. I'll be sure to let her know," Kaitlyn said as Randy hung up. Pulling the phone away from her ear, Kaitlyn said "Whoa."
"Whoa, what, Kait?" Layla asked. "What did Randy say?"
"He said that he wants make nice with Seth," Kaitlyn still tried to process what Randy said. Turning to look at Sara, Kaitlyn asked "Sare, isn't this good news?"
"I-It is," Sara felt a hopeful smile start to tug at the corners of her mouth. "I guess now all I have to do is hope that Seth'll want to do the same."
Sara soon got the answer to this hope as her phone rang again. Seeing Kaitlyn take a look at the screen and her reaction to the name, Sara stood back as she heard Kaitlyn give the same greeting to whoever called her. After hearing Kaitlyn mention Seth's name and seeing her end the call, Sara eagerly asked "Well, what did Seth say? What'd he want?"
"Same as Randy. He wants to maybe arrange a meeting day so that you three can get together to talk things over," Kaitlyn said.
"Oh my god, this is so great," Sara covered her mouth as tears started to roll down her cheeks. "I can't believe they've actually managed to want to put all of this shit behind them."
"This is rather surprising," Layla smiled. "I guess when we finish up with everything here, you can call your boys and arrange a day then, huh?"
"Yeah, I can," Sara laughed a bit as she wiped her tears away. "I just can't believe this. I can't wait to call them and talk to them."
"Well, let's not keep them waiting. Let's finish up here and head back to the hotel so that you can make your calls," Kaitlyn grinned.
"Don't have to tell me twice," Sara laughed a bit. As she filled out the final paperwork with the office receptionist, Sara couldn't help but let the good news she just got play through her head. With both Randy and Seth wanting to make strides towards patching things up between them, it had Sara feeling hopeful that maybe-just maybe-she could get the two to make nice with each other. 'But, first thing's first. I have to get them together and just hope that they don't kill each other.'
Wow! Both Randy and Seth want to make nice with each other. This seems like just as great of news to Sara after getting good news from her doctor that her baby's doing fine and that soon she'll be able to find out whether she's having a boy or a girl. So much good all around. Hopefully, Randy and Seth won't kill each other when they finally see each other again after being kept away from each other by Layla, Kaitlyn, John, Dean, and Roman. The big meeting shall come in the next chapter (which I PROMISE won't take me as long to try to get posted seeing as how after the next chapter, I have another chapter or two of this to post before I finish it), so until then (which, again, I PROMISE won't take me as long to post), don't forget to R&R please. =)
