A/N I know it's about time. Thanks to everyone who has stuck with the story and Reviewed, Favorited, Followed, etc. It means a lot! I have uploaded two chapters, so you get up to the end of their next day. (The playlist for this chapter can be found at the end of the chapter. They are dancing after all)
I wanted to dedicate the next two chapters to my sister, Nef, who passed away eight years ago today. She always thought I was a writer and would be very proud of me having the guts actually to do this. Nef is the reason Bella is passionate about Suicide Awareness, Intimate Partner Abuse, and Mental Illness during her interviews. Nef did not think that a happily ever after was possible for her if she would have just stuck around longer, it would have. I believe that there are HEA's out there for everyone, no matter the disease.
Enough with the heavy- On with the show.
All things Twilight belong to Stephanie Meyer, and so I don't own this story. I enjoy pushing myself to do it, finally. Thanks, Steph!
Bella's Black Mercedes SUV was waiting for Bella and Rosalie, as they walked out the door, Joe and Dimitri opened the doors.
Rose giggled, "this is a ridiculously nice car for something that is missile proof."
Bella knew something that she couldn't hold back. She hoped that Edward wouldn't be mad at her for saying something when she promised she wouldn't.
"I am not the only one who has one! I am just the one who knows about it! Did you think you would get off that easy Rose? Range Rover makes them too! Ha! That's what you get for letting Emmett do the ordering for you! He was laughing all the way from Europe."
Rose turned red with fury, "Please tell me that you are kidding?!"
"I'm not!" Bella laughed, but her face turned serious, Rose, "they want us to be safe when it comes to the parasites, don't be mad. Edward will kill me. You couldn't even tell!"
Joe and Demetri were trying to hide their amusement at this conversation. They, of course, already knew this.
"I'm not the danger magnet," she muttered.
"No, but you will have paparazzi following you around. Do I need to remind you of who the two people in the front seat are, where they come from, and their job?" Bella poked rose in the arm, playfully.
Rose grumbled, "Fine, I won't yell at him for this until this week is over, but he is still in a lot of trouble for not telling me!"
"That sounds fair, although I think Edward would have done the same thing if I had not relented before I even met him. I like this car a lot. I hate to admit that. It's super-fast, it's comfortable, and we could probably drive down the hills in it and be perfectly safe. They both have crazy fans, Rose. Why do you think I am so nervous about his fans not liking me? Some of them are insane, and so are his ex-girlfriends!"
Rose chuckled, "Fair point again Swan. Let's change the subject before I start plotting physical revenge against Emmett."
Bella tried to hold back the laughter, but she couldn't, her stomach hurt from laughing so hard, "ummm…" grin "So what is this event supposed to be for the people who don't know about us?" Bella asked.
"Congratulations more than anything, you know celebrating the book. It's a welcome home party instead of a housewarming, like congratulations on moving to L.A. It was a good excuse to fly down the people we can trust, and they can find out about you and Edward from you instead of the news." Rose answered, solidly. She had done a lot of thinking and planning
"Weird that Jasper is coming to a congratulations party about a book that he's in… for you know…" Bella shook her head at the irony.
"It's not about him though, it's about Anthony, and he's not coming. You should see them together, god it's nice to see Alice happy like that. I mean, she always acts like she's mainlining pixie sticks, but he calms her down." Rose laughed at the irony there too.
"Our lives are not boring, that's for sure. So are Emmett and Edward just going to come in and act like it's nothing?" Bella was still unsure of this all.
"Yep, we are going to introduce them as our boyfriends. Almost everyone is coupled there. I am going to introduce Seth and Heidi." Rose said in a conspiratorial voice.
"Oh! That would be cool! Except you know, they live on two different coasts." Bella reminded her.
"Heidi needs to get laid, and you know what? I bet Seth does too? He's Edward's handler, and he's had to put up with him for the last month. He's not the only one in that predicament either. They are the only two without a partner so…oh! I forgot to tell you about Angela and Ben, but I'll let them!" Rose snickered.
"Are they finally getting married?" Bella asked
"My lips are sealed."
"Jerk," Bella tried to act offended.
"We're about to pull in," Joe announced.
Bella squinted her eyes, "Where?"
Rose saw that so far everything looked as it should, "Now why would we want someplace to look like it's opened when it's only opened for like 20 people. This club is a hidden gem in L.A. It's one of those places with actual tables and a dance floor, but you'll see."
Rose was bouncing in her seat.
"Just a second ladies, I am going to make sure there aren't any photographers hanging around." Joe and Demetri existed the vehicle.
"I like him," Rose winked. "The Cullens don't fail at much, do they?"
"I think they all have their flaws; they are just so much more than other people; it's hard to see those flaws," Bella said, thinking about Edward and his big mouth almost costing him his entire career.
Rose agreed.
"Okay, we're good," Joe said as he opened up Bella's door and helped her out.
Demetri did the same for Rosalie, "This way."
Demetri lead the way. Bella thought they would be entering the inside of the club. There was a big gate, beyond that, it was lit up with what she saw, were twinkle lights.
"Outside?" Bella bounced.
"Yes, they have weddings out here. If we get cold, they have heating lamps, but I doubt we will." Rose gloated.
"This is awesome," Bella said awestruck.
She had been expecting obnoxious strobe lights and a bar where you had to scream over the music to talk to anyone. It did look like a wedding reception, sort of. There were round tables covered in purple tablecloths, on a patio, there were no centerpieces. An extensive buffet table was against the furthest wall. Bella saw a lot of booze and food. She could only see one possible worker from the restaurant.
Next, to the food, there was Champaign, Wine, also something that looked like a lemonade dispenser, but it wasn't, it was for margaritas. There was a keg, at least it wasn't in a trashcan. That took her back to her college days.
Great, Champaign, and Tequila.
All of the lighting was strung — lightbulbs over the tables, twinkle lights in the trees and stars over the dance floor. There was a DJ booth on the very opposite side of where the tables were. It was stunning. Bella finally was able to speak.
"You guys, thank you. I wish Alice were here." Bella hugged Rose, "this is awesome."
"I'm glad you like it, there is only the manager here to help out, and she's signed an NDA."
"You thought of everything," Bella stated.
"We did, congratulations, Bella. Your success is well worth celebrating, not just with the sales, but dealing with what you have. You have not let any of us down despite your life changing in major ways. Now let's go say hi to our friends before we pull the shock and awe on them."
Bella nodded in agreement, she spotted Angela and Ben first, and guilt panged her again for a moment. She was supposed to go dancing with them, but after everything that happened in Portland, something happened to her, and she was composing nonstop. Those three days were where most of the new songs she had written came from. The girls let her have alone time; she needed to purge all the emotions somehow.
Bella smacked Rose playfully, "You didn't tell me they were having a baby!"
"You WERE NOT in the mood; it slipped my mind after that. Sorry." She shrugged, hiding her smirk.
Bella almost sprinted to Angela, "Oh! Angela, you look beautiful! Congratulations! I am so sorry I didn't show in Seattle."
Angela hugged Bella, "B, I went to your reading. You didn't see me; I didn't want you to. I was too upset with my hormones, hearing all that. I didn't want to disturb you. You didn't look like you had gotten a lot of sleep. I knew we'd see each other soon, and here we are. Besides I'm not all that pregnant, I look like it. Twins run in my family, remember?"
Bella covered her mouth with her hand, "Is that a happy thing?"
Angela laughed, "It's a very happy thing."
"Well, you look beautiful." Bella complimented.
"That's what they say," She rolled her eyes. "Speaking of, damn Bella. You look good too, and you're glowing yourself. Congratulations on everything really, I always knew you were going to do great things. You were far too smart not to! I was right! Thank you for inviting us. The food alone was worth it," Angela joked.
"You know you are welcome anytime, you and your rug rats. I know it's like an 18-hour drive but if you ever need to vacation…" Bella said honestly, she couldn't believe all of the people she knew were getting married and pregnant left and right.
"I might just take you up on that B."
Bella pulled Ben in for a huge hug, "Congrats dad! You guys are going to be the best parents! I am so happy to see my high school friends, so happy! I always knew you were perfect for each other."
"Thanks, Bella, you were our biggest cheerleader, so we owe you a lot. I owe you a lot, making sure Angela didn't settle with Eric Yorkie!"
"EWWWW!" Rose and Bella snorted at the same time.
Heidi almost tackled Bella right after that, "Wow! I'm happy to see you too, Heidi! It's been a week!" She kissed her on the cheek, "Heidi. This is Angela and Ben; they are two of my best friends from Forks."
"I remember," She reminded Bella.
"Oh yeah, anyway, Angela, Ben, this is Heidi she's been our cheerleader at the publishers in New York."
They exchanged pleasantries.
Then Heidi looked at Bella and Rose like a predator, "I thought I was finally going to meet your mystery men!"
"They'll be here soon, clam down Heidi." Rose scolded.
Heidi gasped, "I didn't know you were friends with Edward and Emmett Cullen! God their gorgeous, like sex on a stick. Too bad; they are taken." She huffed.
Okay, she was a little dense.
Angela and Ben immediately understood and gave Bella and Rose a thumbs up.
"Oh, they are very taken. We'll be back in a bit," Bella said, shaking her head.
Bella and Rose couldn't choke back a giggle, "I wonder how many times that's going to happen?"
"Who cares, we are finally going to get to spend time amongst others with our boyfriends. Hopefully, Alice gets here soon."
Edward did look like sex on a stick, and he was all hers.
Mine, Bella thought.
Edward was thinking the same thing.
Bella gave Esme and Carlisle a small wave, signaling that she would talk to them in a few. She walked up to Edward, "You look good, did I tell you I love you in suits."
Edward shot a half grin, "I thought you said you love me all the time,"
"Oh, I do, but I especially love you in a suit," She wiggled her eyebrows at him.
"Bella, you are breathtaking tonight. Another Alice creation?" Edward asked
"Rose too."
"You both look gorgeous."
The magnetic pull was impossible to ignore before long Bella had her arms around Edward's neck, and he had his hands on the small of her back. Not kissing each other would have been impossible. It seemed they forgot where they were, because the kiss deepened, causing Bella to let out a low moan. There was a series of gasps.
Carlisle put his hand on his son's shoulder; "Edward, you two might want to…"
Bella pulled away, mortified, "Oops!" She was bright red.
Edward chuckled and made sure to grab on to her waist when she turned away from him. He needed her for cover, for a minute or so. He could feel Bella's chest almost vibrating, holding back her laughter. He whispered, "I guess that took care of telling your friends,"
Bella looked at them; they all were still gaping. She looked at Rose and Emmett, and they were engaging the same activity. Edward punched Emmett on the arm, "Dude!"
Rose pulled away, smug. She was marking her territory.
Bella went to hug Esme and Carlisle, "Thanks for this, you guys are awesome. This has been such a great day! I am sure you helped plan this so you must know where everything is. I see Carmen, Eleazar, and Seth coming in as well."
Edward flashed a guilty grin at Carmen, but he looked down at Bella. She nodded, understanding. Edward knew he had been forgiven.
"Someone is ready to dance," Eleazar winked.
"Alice is a genius; this is a competition dress. You cannot tell other than when I twirl." Bella bit her lip as Carmen and Eleazar cracked up. Edward had no idea.
"Don't worry, I'm wearing dance boy shorts underneath, I won't cause any scandal, nor will I give Edward a heart attack."
He realized what they were talking about, "Well I hope you plan on spending most of the night dancing with me," He said, nuzzling her from behind.
"Of course, I do!"
"Ah! I see the last of our party has joined us. They can shut the gate now." Rose smiled as Alice and Jasper walked in.
"That's Jasper?" Edward asked quietly.
"Yep, and I think Alice is about to introduce you."
Edward nodded.
Bella was struck at by the look Alice had on her face. What Rose said was right; she had never seen her friend look so happy. It was hard not to be thrilled that he was here with her.
"Al! This is awesome thank you!" Bella squeaked to the pixie.
She shrugged, "Anytime, we had fun planning this behind your backs." She took a deep breath. She was nervous. Jasper had his arm around her, "Edward, this is Jasper. Emmett has already met him."
Jasper looked weary and guilty. Edward gave him one of his famous grins and shook his hand, "It's nice to meet you finally. I've heard a lot about you. It's nice to see Shorty happy too." Edward said as everyone looked at him incredulously. Except for Bella, her eyes started to darken. He was okay with everything.
"I've heard a lot about you too man, just not who you were. You make Bella happier than she has ever been. I could tell just by looking at her when she talked about you. Thanks for being cool with this." Jasper replied.
"Of course, Alice is family. We cannot help who we are related to…" Edward said playfully as he punched his brother in the arm and laughed, "No it's cool, the past in the past. Just don't hurt the pixie, and we're good." Edward stated.
Jasper smiled, they shook hands, "deal,"
Bella hugged Jasper, "Jazz! I'm so glad you're here!"
"I hear I get to watch Bella the Swan dive dance! I couldn't miss that." He chuckled
Bella smacked him, "You wait, I need to go make introductions on the other side. We'll talk later." Bella grabbed Edward's hand, and told him with utter devotion, "I love you so much, thank you."
He stopped and looked at her, "I would do anything for you, Bella. No more stressing about that situation. Let's have fun, Swan Dive." He chuckled.
"I'm going to murder him." Bella pulled him over to the other friends.
"Ben, Angela, this is Edward, my boyfriend."
Angela looked a little star struck, which made Ben grin, "Nice to meet you, man, I'm Ben."
"You're the drummer?"
"One of my many talents," he snarked, "are you the person Rose was talking about who needed assistance in the studio?"
"Technically I guess, not my song though," Edward looked at Bella smugly.
"Bella?" He said incredulously.
"Incredibly talented. I have a studio at my old place, and we need some live drumming and violin on a couple of tracks so it would be great if you could help. That blonde lady over at the buffet table is from Rolling Stone. She'll be there too." Edward explained.
"Bella wrote music?" Ben said, still shocked. "Bella?"
"She told me what she was like in high school, but I think I'm just now getting the picture. Was she that shy? She didn't show her talent at all?" Edward asked.
"She was the suffer in silence type. She was also very clumsy. She was always a good writer, so that didn't surprise me. Seeing her like this is something I never thought I would see. She looks, happy and more… herself? Anyway, I am sure you want to get the introductions over with. Rose said she'd get the sheet music and the details. I guess we'll see you guys tomorrow."
Angela finally snapped out of it, "Hi, I'm Angela. I'm not going to give you the third degree now, but tomorrow." Yep, she was back to being Angela. "I'm glad you make B happy. She deserves it."
Ben shook his head and rolled his eyes.
Heidi looked deeply ashamed, Bella laughed, "Heidi, it's okay, you didn't know. Heidi, this is Edward. I've told you about her."
He nodded, "It's nice to put a face to the name. I was able to watch all of Bella's readings because of you so thanks."
She nodded.
"Okay, we're going to have to work on that one later," Bella said, shaking her head, wanting to finish with the introductions.
Annabella and her husband Sid came up to Bella and hugged her, "Long time no see, girl! You look good! You look happy. I thought you'd end up back in New York with the fit you had when you were leaving. Now I see you have some motivation to stay." Annabella said as they did their introductions, "Oh your mom is Esme! Right?"
Edward nodded slowly.
Annabella snorted, "I am doing the mosaics for your house. I heard we are switching locations and maybe pushing back the actual install! Where is she exactly?"
Edwards finally put two and two together, "Oh! I've heard a lot about you too! Sorry about that! My mom is the one over there with the blonde guy, my dad. I suppose we will get to know each other better another time."
Bella sighed with relief, "One more person to greet,"
Edward groaned as Kate walked up to them, "Yea, you two do look good together. Anyway, thanks for the invite. I imagine we're going to do a lot of talking, so, I'm going to have fun tonight. See Ya later, you crazy kids."
Bella and Edward looked at each other and shrugged.

After Bella had consumed enough food and a margarita or two, she wanted to start dancing. She knew that most of these people had no idea what she could do, but she had no idea what Edward could do either.
"You ready to go out there?" Edward asked as if he was reading her mind.
She nodded.
"Eleazar wants a few dances with you, so does Carlisle. They are both outstanding."
"At what?"
Edward sighed, "Carlisle can swing dance well," Bella's eyes lit up. "Eleazar is perfect at pretty much everything." Edward extended a hand, "Come on,"
"This song is perfect," Bella smiled. "Ballroom, lead me."
And he did. Edward had been practicing. She was following his lead one hundred percent. Edward was excellent, and he was the perfect dance partner. It was almost like he picked the song and …. Bella didn't care, Edward practically made her heart explode. Although most of the couples were dancing as well, eventually they stopped to watch the two of them.
They could anticipate each other, even dancing.
Jasper's jaw almost hit the ground.
Bella stuck her tongue out at him.
Anytime there was a grinding type of song. There was always a group of girls who used the time to dance with each other. During one song's, they started doing the electric slide; it was ridiculously adorable.
Emmett managed to make Edward blush furiously when he decided that he moved like Jagger. He was a one-man show, but he was showing off for Rosalie, and she thought it was hilarious. Eventually, everyone decided to join Emmett in feeling silly, twirling each other around and dipping.
Edward's confidence had been building, and he was able to lead Bella in much more complicated dances. He remembered all of his lessons. He didn't realize that during those moments, Sawyer had been taking pictures of the two of them, even he was stunned by their undeniable chemistry.
Eleazar and Bella only danced twice, but it was two jaw-dropping moments for those who had always underestimated Bella. She radiated confidence; watching her footwork was astounding. She was technically perfect, Eleazar was a terrific dancer when they finished, they elicited a round of applause.
Carmen thought Edward was going to have a jealous fit when Bella danced with other people, but he was enthralled watching her old friends not just shocked, but blown away and proud. Angela cried a lot; Ben just laughed and shook his head in disbelief. Jasper had the most significant reaction, and it had nothing to do with attraction. He did see and love her as a sister. Edward saw that now.
Jasper wasn't sure if Bella was faking the confidence, at the reading. It had been so long and so hard to believe the Bella he knew could do what she was. He was never happier to be wrong. Bella was the person she was always meant to be. He was relieved that she wasn't with his brother. There was no way she would have ever become what she had if they stayed together. Sure, they may have left Forks, but he would have convinced her to marry at an early age, and probably have kids early and if he knew his brother, convince Bella to be a stay at home mom. This Bella would not submit to Anthony's demands.
He told Anthony he would call and tell him everything. He planned on telling his brother precisely that. It may have been intensely painful for all the parties involved. Despite the flawed reason for leaving, it was the best thing for Bella. His brother needed to get off his ass and get over it now too.
Esme was gobsmacked when she danced with Carlisle. Carlisle was a showoff, and his ability to swing dance was one of the things that he could do better than Esme, and he was smug about it. He was not nearly as good as Bella. She never missed a beat; she was so good at anticipating the next move. She made her dance partner's look good.

"Well, you have officially impressed me, kid," Kate laughed, "I have been talking to your old friends, for background purposes only. It was hard not to notice their reaction to you. Hearing firsthand what you used to be like, and to see you now. To see you with Edward is wow. You did change for the better. I can see he's as good for you too. As much as you are for him. Anyway, I am excited to hear the music you two make together. Could you two be any more sickening? I'll see you two at your condo at noon, and we'll do the shoot, then?"
Bella and Edward nodded, "We are about to go home ourselves, thanks for coming, Kate." Bella said sweetly.
"Thanks for inviting me when you didn't have to. I find your honesty, both of yours, rather refreshing. See Ya! Oh! Bella, I don't know what Alice has got you wearing for the shoot, but we have a stylist coming in for the cover. I imagine you won't need the clothes until the cover is done."
They both nodded, "Okay, Kate, See you tomorrow." Edward said, in the more sincere voice he could fake.
Kate and Sawyer left.
Bella snorted, "Told you so."
Edward just rolled his eyes and pulled Bella in for one of those seventh-grade dances. They were both absolutely exhausted.
"I had a perfect time tonight, Edward. You are a great dance partner." Bella said with her head on his shoulder as they barely danced.
"God, Bella I had no idea you were so good. I was shocked to see how all of your old friends responded to it. You amaze me, are you sure you want to stick with writing? because Ya know dancing and singing, a few acting lessons, and you could be on Broadway."
Bella slugged Edward playfully, "I'm not that girl Edward. I don't mind the attention from the people I am closest to in the world, but I enjoy doing those things for myself. It's how I keep my balance. Writing too, but I much prefer to make a living that way. I wouldn't want a job to take away the joy dancing and singing makes me feel, like tonight."
"Yeah, I understand that."
"You should, and you would."
"Time to go home," Bella said, kissing the corner of Edward's mouth, "I need you now."
That woke him up, "I'll be right back." Edward found Joe and told him they were ready to go home.
Bella was saying her goodbyes to the remaining guests, "Thanks for coming guys, we're going home. Big day tomorrow, but I think all of you are going to be there. So, we'll see you tomorrow."
Alice searched Bella's face to see if she meant Jasper, too, and she did. She was so relieved. Jasper would be heading home, but it was good to know that they had added him to the fold without any hassle. She had the best of best friends.
Edward returned just in time to wave and thank everyone for coming. He liked Ben a lot. He had a feeling they would hammer out that song just fine. Bella did not have a lot of friends, but the ones she did were good ones. Even Jasper, he had to admit. He knew now that Jasper was going to be as much a part of their life as Rose was in his, and Emmett was with Bella. He was okay with that.
xxxx
Edward and Bella fell into their bed, not needing to say a word. Edward worshiped her. She constantly surprised him. Edward wanted to make sure Bella knew. She was it for him. He could not imagine being physically able to love her any more than he did, without his heart exploding. Tomorrow would be the first day of the rest of their lives, and they wanted to end this stage in each other's arms. After being thoroughly sated, that is how they ended the night, deeply in love, deeply asleep and totally content.
A/N Just FYI the 50 Shades of Grey Soundtrack (All three of them) is what I listen to most often while writing. Definitely the best soundtrack of all time. Despite the movie (They needed something in place of dialogue)
