Lying in between Joe's legs, her head on the top of his left thigh, Peyton was reading through emails, mainly work related emails, on her Ipad whilst Joe watched ESPN. A nice relaxing morning for the pair, neither bothering to move from the bed yet. After the recording of Smackdown, the couple had caught a redeye back to Tampa and decided on Peyton's place this time. Joe had to admit, her place was bigger and nicer than his; not that his apartment wasn't nice. Hers was more spacious though; three bedroom compared to his two and she definitely had a bigger pool than him. As she had shown him around her house, he could picture them raising their child in her house. That was something they had to discuss though, now they were together, living together. It made sense to Joe, especially considering they were having a baby together.
Peyton, since waking up the Tuesday morning, had decided she wasn't going to let her parents affect her happiness. She had wasted so much time on them, so many tears shed in private and got nothing in return. Now she was completely done. She had her own little family to think about; her own relationship with Joe to concentrate on. This week they were, hopefully, finding out the sex of the baby. She was excited for that, she wasn't about to let her poor excuse for a dad ruin that. She couldn't wait to finally find out what she was having, to start properly buying for the baby. To think about how to decorate the nursery, to really start thinking about names. Not that that topic hadn't already been opened by none other than Jon. Who was still insisting that either Wilbur or Alvin would make a great name for the baby if it was a boy, both names from characters in films he liked. His suggestions for girls weren't much better. Peyton had left it to Joe to tell him there was no way in hell they were naming there kid any of his suggested names.
"You know we really need to get you a Shield shirt," Joe stated. His eyes on the oversized Ziggler shirt that Peyton was wearing. He definitely wouldn't mind seeing her in a Shield shirt, especially if all she was wearing with it was panties, like now.
Peyton tilted her head back to look at Joe, a coy look on her face. "And why's that?"
"Because as much as I like Nick, I want to see you wearing my shirt."
Peyton placed her IPad down on the bed, moving so she was now straddling Joe. "You going to start getting all territorial," she said running her fingers through Joe's loose hair.
"You know I'm not the sort of guy to tell you who you can and can't talk to, and you wouldn't listen even if I did. But you're hot and you'd look really hot wearing a Shield Shirt," Joe answered, placing kisses along Peyton's neck. "and not much else," he continued as he worked his way up her neck and along her jaw.
"Are you trying to seduce me into getting a Shield shirt?"
"Maybe…is it working?"
"It would work a lot better if I wasn't hungry. You're baby just cockblocked you," Peyton laughed climbing off Joe and standing up from the bed.
Joe stood up to, smacking Peyton's ass as she walked out of the bedroom. "We'll continue that later, baby girl."
"Which bit, you trying to convince me to buy a Shield shirt or seducing me?" Peyton asked walking down the stairs.
"Both."
As Joe started preparing breakfast for them, making some eggs, Peyton wrapped her arms around him pressing a kiss to his bare back. "I can't wait until tomorrow. It's crazy thinking this time tomorrow we're going to know whether we're having a boy or girl."
"As long as the baby is healthy, that's all that matters. I'll love them the same, boy or girl." Joe said, dishing up their breakfast.
"I hope they have your hair, you literally have amazing hair. I'm kinda jealous." Peyton admitted, sitting down at her kitchen table.
"Wait, was that a compliment? Did you just compliment me?" Joe teased.
"Fuck you," Peyton retorted playfully.
"My hair and your green eyes," Joe said, getting back on topic of their baby's appearance. "You're your smile. Definitely your smile." At the mention of her smile, Peyton couldn't help but smile at Joe. "Yep, that's the one."
"Do you ever stop being so fucking adorable? You put me to shame," Peyton grinned. Then sat still, a hand going to her stomach.
"What's wrong?" Joe asked, panicked.
Peyton smiled, her hand still on her stomach. "No need to panic," Peyton replied, slightly putting Joe at ease. "I can feel the baby moving. I thought I felt it last week, but I wasn't sure. But now, I can definitely feel it. Everyone always says it's around this stage you first start to feel the baby moving. It's so weird."
Joe moved his chair back, moving so he was suddenly crouching down in front of Peyton, placing a hand under the Ziggler shirt and on her bump; hoping to feel something. "What does it feel like?" He asked, unable to feel the baby moving like Peyton could. He knew he wouldn't be able to for a few weeks, he remembered with his sister's pregnancies, only she could feel the baby's movements at first.
"It's weird, like a fluttering. Literally like butterflies fluttering. It was only for a few seconds but, it was so strange yet totally amazing," Peyton described, beaming.
"Remember last time we were here for my 12 week scan?" Peyton grinned, remembering when the doctor had, before they were in a relationship, thought they were a couple.
Joe pushed a loose strand of hair behind Peyton's ear. "I do, we're going to have Dr Miller confused."
"We got there in the end, and I couldn't be happier. Even if you do take up all the room in the bed and give me that surprised look everything time we have to stop so I can pee. Seriously, you try having a baby sitting on your bladder and it's only going to get worse."
"I do not take up all the room in the bed. If anyone does that, it's you and you take all the cover. You're not the biggest person, how can you need so much cover or space?"
Peyton had an innocent look on her face; "I like to cocoon myself with the cover. I didn't always have a hot Samoan spooning me at night. Plus you're a big guy, you're going to take up loads more room than me. Therefore I win, case closed."
"Just like that, hey?"
"Just like that. We all know I always win."
"I wouldn't say always."
"Like 95% of the time."
"Like I said, you don't always win," Joe smirked.
"I'm sorry, you hold on to that 5% of yours," Peyton grinned. "Got to have you feeling manly somehow."
"We playing that game are we?" Joe said, moving closer to Peyton. "I was feeling pretty manly this morning when you were screaming my name whilst I pleasured you with my tongue," Joe whispered in Peyton's ear. "If you're good again later…" he trailed off.
If it was one thing Joe was good at, it was turning Peyton on. Especially the last couple of days when her libido had heightened; she couldn't get enough of Joe. Not that he was complaining, he was all for Peyton's increased sex drive. Peyton's head feel forward against Joe's shoulder before she turned her head to look up at Joe, pouting. "That's mean, don't tease a pregnant woman like that."
Joe chuckled, wrapping an arm around Peyton as she continued to rest her head on his shoulder. The pair falling into a comfortable silence.
"I can't wait to find out what we're having." Peyton said a few minutes later, excitement really kicking in again.
"You know if we have a girl, she's not dating until she's like thirty." Joe declared.
Peyton laughed, of course Joe was going to be one of those over-protective dads; especially if they had a girl. "You know it doesn't quite work like that. Plus if we do have a girl, you know she'll have you wrapped around her little finger. Just like her mom does," Peyton grinned.
"You just think you do," Joe countered, kissing the top of Peyton's head.
Peyton arched an eyebrow, "Oh it's like that is it?"
Before either could say anything, they were being called into the room. Both stood up, smiling; Joe's hand in the middle of Peyton's back as he led her into the room.
Dr Miller watched the pair as Peyton climbed up onto the bed, Joe helping her then kissing her forehead. "So, how are we feeling today, Peyton? No more dizzy spells I hope."
"I'm good, the second trimester has definitely been a lot better. And no, no more dizzy spells. The medication helped. I've had a lot more energy."
Dr Miller smiled warmly. "That's good to hear. Low iron levels are not uncommon in pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Though the medication you had doesn't work for everyone, luckily that wasn't the case for you. I hope Joe has been looking after you," the doctor smiled.
"Yeah, he's definitely been looking after me." Peyton replied as Joe took one of her hands in his, interlocking their fingers. "A little over-protective at time, but I've trained him well;" Peyton laughed.
"Good. I don't doubt you have him wrapped around your little finger." The Doctor said reading through the chart with Peyton's details on.
Peyton simply smirked at Joe. "Of course I do."
Dr Miller walked over to the bed, "So would we like to know the sex of the baby today?"
"Yes!" Joe and Peyton both excitedly said at the same time. The doctor chuckled.
A few minutes later, after checking that everything was fine with the baby, that it was developing healthily, the doctor turned to face Joe and Peyton. The pair engrossed at looking at their baby on the screen. This was one of the doctor's favourite moments, telling parents the sex of their child. Sharing that special moment with them.
"We ready to find out what you're having?"
Peyton nodded excitedly. "Let's do this, doc," Joe beamed.
"See this," Dr Miller pointed at a certain part of the screen. Peyton and Joe nodded, eyes glued to the screen. If they were being honest, like every other parent, they couldn't distinguish different parts of their unborn baby on the screen like the doctor could. "This means you're having a boy," Dr Miller smiled.
Peyton couldn't help the tears, happy tears that formed in her eyes. She was having a little boy, a mini Joe. She could already picture a little boy, the spitting image of Joe, except, maybe with her green eyes. Of course, as long as the baby was healthy, she didn't care what she was having. She would love them regardless. "A little boy?" She smiled.
"Yep, and he's looking healthy. Everything is progressing as it should be."
Joe finally spoke up, feeling slightly overwhelmed. Like Peyton, as long as their baby was healthy that was all that mattered. But knowing he was having a little boy, he was suddenly picturing all the things he and his son would do together. His son. He liked that now he could say that, now he and Peyton, knowing what they were having, could start buying more things. Get to work on a nursery. He could tell everyone he was going to have a son. "A son," Joe said proudly. "We're going to have a little boy." Joe brought Peyton's hand, still interlocked with his, up to his mouth; pressing a soft kiss to her lips after.
"I'll give you guys a minute," Dr Miller smiled after passing Peyton some tissues to wipe off the gel on her stomach, leaving the room after. Giving the couple a few minutes to digest the good news.
Peyton sat up and turned around, her legs hanging off the side of the bed. Joe stood up, standing in between her legs. "I love you, and you," Joe said leaning down to kiss Peyton's bump. "My little boy."
"No more worrying about having to lock a daughter up from guys," Peyton laughed. "Nope, we're having a little boy who's going to break girl's hearts across the world like his dad." Peyton teased, she knew that Joe had a large number of female fans.
Of course now, pictures of her and him had started to arise on social media with people trying to speculate how long they had been together and asking him on twitter when the baby was due. There had definitely been a lot of broken hearts when pictures of Peyton with a baby bump walking next to Joe were plastered across the internet. Of course, with people used to seeing her with Nick over the years, despite Nick always refereeing to Peyton as his friend, there was plenty of rumours. While Joe and Peyton stayed away from it all, Nick was quick to, once again, state that Peyton was just his friend and not to believe everything people heard. Also congratulating Peyton, his friend, on being pregnant. Telling the world he was going to be the best uncle ever.
"And he's going to be as strong as his mom and as clever as you," Joe smiled kissing Peyton.
When Doctor Miller returned five minutes later, he printed off a few scan pictures for the couple and discussed a few other bits with them regarding the baby. Joe also asking some questions about Peyton travelling, the doctor assuring them that most airlines would allow Peyton to fly up until 36 weeks. Though she would have to take some precautions to be on the safe side. Before the couple happily left the hospital, talking about getting lunch and then doing some shopping for the baby. Both excited to start buying more things for their baby. Their son.
Hope you liked it and you're not disappointed with the gender of the baby lol
Let me know what you think :)
