One Blessed Man

Albus Dumbledore was a blessed man. His only regret was not seeing it sooner.

He watched from afar as his students and peers raised their wands into the air, setting off the most beautiful symphony of lights he'd ever seen. It was his death song, something unique to the individual and uncommon to the world that no mortal soul had ever heard of it. If they had, it meant certain death awaited them,

Albus remembered precisely the first time he heard it. He'd been with Severus, discussing all the possible cures to the ailment that befell him. Little did he know, he'd only have less than a year to live, as Severus solemnly explained to him then.

He looked about, their sadness seeping into his nonexistent state. He could feel their anguish at the sight of his old container, to which was bequeathed to him before his conception. Had he known the man he'd grow into, would he have lived his life differently?

Certainly not.

He had limitless regrets, but not a single second of his life was a waste.

Albus turned, his white robes billowing around him as if to send out one last 'farewell'.

Blessed, indeed.
