I don't own Naruto
Chapter 25:
Recap
"I honestly don't know Sakura," she replied, "But please do come back when I'm sober enough to think clearly."
"Demo why did you arrest Sasuke?"
"Treason," she replied, "Oh, as well as aiding and abetting a criminal." She replied and dozed off…
"Aid and abet?" Sakura muttered, and wanted to ask some more but was stopped by Shizune…
"Go home Sakura," she said gently, "She's had a rough day."
"Demo, this is the worst thing that could happen to Sasuke-kun!" she reasoned…
"Ie," she said and that shut Sakura up, "He's lucky enough that three out of five kages voted for his life… because of the bonds he made in his old life." Sakura let out a sigh and turned around to leave to inform her fellow kunoichi who were staying outside, waiting for news about Sasuke…
As soon as she got out she was met by questions but she kept her eyes on Hinata. That look on Sakura's eyes was enough to tell Hinata that Sasuke was now in very deep trouble that he couldn't get out of. She looked down and slid down the wall…
"Gomen Hina-chan," Sakura said, "demo, I think Sasuke's luck is running out fast." And with that Hinata's tears fell to the ground…
End of recap
Hinata didn't want to go back to the compound yet, so she stayed in the park to think, but she didn't stay that long either. She thought about going to Shino, but she didn't want to trouble him too. She walked and walked and walked until she didn't notice where her feet had brought her…
She was in the training grounds that Sasuke had wrecked the last time she was here… this too was the place that she lost her temper at Sasuke…
The place was fixed and was beautiful… she didn't know who fixed the place, but after being destroyed and all by the rage, it came out so beautiful… maybe the only way to fix something is to break it all the more and turn it to something brand new…
She sat down on the ground and began to pick some grasses and throw it to the ground. She just don't understand people sometimes… they were too complicated. If they don't want something to happen then why would they sit back and let it happen? Why don't they just do it themselves? She let out a sigh and just sat there for a while until she sensed a familiar chakra approach her…
"Hinata…" Neji said as he approached her. He meant for her to sense him so she wouldn't be frightened, "Ikuso… your father's looking for you."
"Eh?" she turned around, "Why?"
"The Kages are preparing for war… they need all the manpower they could get… your father's going to brief us on our roles in the war." he explained and waited for her to stand up, "Ikuso…"
"Hai, hai," she said and brushed of some of the grasses and followed him all the way to the compound. She wonders what she'd do in the war… maybe she'll be told to stay back and just sense if enemies had breached their defences…
Yep that's probably it…
When they arrived at the compound, they were immediately escorted to the clan's meeting room, where everyone, down from the branch members up to the clan elders were there. They both bowed down and took their designated seats and listened well to what was going to happen…
"This morning, the Kages have decided to start our actual preparations for war. This will mean that everyone capable of fighting will go to the battlefield regardless of how young or old you may be.
Because of this, your training will be harsher, and you must learn to become stronger than yourselves. From time to time we will be changing sparring partners to make us experience what it'll be like to face a new opponent and enable us to adjust and think faster…
As for our roles in the war, elders and the children will be staying here inside the village to be able to protect and defend the village. The children will include all genins and below their rankings.
Chuunins and jounins will go to war as I will. Our job is to immobilize as many enemy forces as possible and protect our allies' blind spots. We will also alert everyone from the incoming attacks we foresee before anyone else can…
This is a critical task entrusted to us… do not fail!"
"Hai!" the whole clan chorused…
"As for the preparations beforehand, we will need all the medical supplies we can get, Hinata," he called out and stared at his daughter, "You'll gather the herbs and make them into ointments and teach the others as well to not waste any moment."
"Hai!" she replied…
"For the training of our on field ninjas, Neji I am putting you in charge."
"Hai Hiashi-sama!"
"For our genins and the rest of the household… there should be no dead weight with in this clan, Hanabi," he turned to his youngest daughter, "I entrust you to lead them while we are out on the battlefield."
"Hai!"
"Clan meeting dismissed!"
Naruto's training grounds ~Battle Headquarters~
Shikamaru had just gotten the scroll sent to him by his father. He was really caught off guard by the news. He didn't move from his thinking spot for quite some time now, and Naruto is still undergoing the process of taming the Kyuubi. The tent opened and in came Kiba…
"Oi Shika," Kiba asked, "Any news from Konoha?" Shikamaru let out a sigh and tossed him the scroll. As soon as Kiba was finished reading the scroll he threw it in annoyance back to Shikamaru…
"Kuso… those Akatsuki are really starting to get on my nerves!" he hissed and Akamaru growled in agreement, "What the hell do they really want anyway?!" that was Shikamaru's question too. Akatsuki are a twisted bunch… one was there for money, the other was there for no purpose at all… and the rest were traitors… but what will they achieve with gaining all the remaining tailed beasts? After a few moments Kiba stood up and was storming out of the tent…
"Where are you going?" Shikamaru asked…
"I'm going to train… might as well join Naruto in his quest to go stronger."
"Demo,-"
"I know… it'll raise his suspicions… but you have to admit Shika," he said and kneeled down in front of him, "This place is getting boring. Trust me, Naruto's still peacefully meditating in front of the falls as Bee suggested… now you either come with me and work with something new or you sit and think here for your entire stay… but by the time you'll get back you'll end up like Chouji." He said and walked out. Shikamaru stared at his stomach for quite some time and then back up at the exit…
"Am I really getting fat?" he mumbled to himself and let out a sigh, "Oh well… might as well try to make it less troublesome."
Konoha
The Hokage had handed out tasks to all the ninjas and put to hold all mission to prepare for war. they had to be ready at any time, and supplies were gathered, lots of intel were exchanged and ninjas were busting in and out of their homes, making sure their families remain safe if they are not to return victorious. Escape routes were automatically planned and evacuation centres were put up in case the villages were breached and attacked…
Everyone was really busy, and all those who weren't helping out were training as hard as they can for the upcoming battle…
The rookie nine were busy helping out and making sure everything was checked and rechecked. It was nonstop too in the hospital and shifts were taken every now and then. The Kage summit was over but each of the villages were extra wary on who they relay their messages too. Extra precautions were made and everything was falling into place…
ANBU were walking around, checking and guarding everything and made sure there were no suspicious activities…
Even classes were stopped for the preparations needed all the manpower they could have. Strategists were gathered around the meeting hall to discuss the plans yet still they couldn't figure out where or what the Akatsuki is aiming to do…
Akatsuki Hideout
"Everyone is preparing… all five nations are expecting your attack soon." Zetsu reported, and Obito was still thinking in his position on how to go about in his plan. He stared at Kabuto who was sitting idly in his seat…
"Are the corpses prepared?" he asked
"Ready as they will ever be in their state." Kabuto replied. Obito turned his attention to Zetsu once more…
"And Sasuke?"
"We're still searching for him and his team." Zetsu replied. Obito nodded and dismissed them both. As soon as he gets Sasuke back… then his plan will soon take place and no one would be there to stop him. In all honesty, he could really care less how Sasuke was doing, but given their circumstances, they were the only family they have whether they liked it or not. Sasuke was an unstable ally anyway, and the moment he goes and charge with the enemy forces, it could bring great harm to his plans…
He needed Sasuke by his side… and there was just absolutely no way he was going to lose this fight…
Secret Prison
The prison cells opened once more and Taka were immediately up on their feet, anxious to know what had happened to Sasuke. A few moments after he had been taken away from them, Juugo was awakened and not long after that did they hear whips and grunts and hisses from the walls. They couldn't pinpoint where it came from but there was only one thing that could make sense… whatever they tried to ask Sasuke… he was not giving any answer, therefore they are forcing it out of him…
Judging by the condition Sasuke was in as he was dragged by both ANBU towards his cell, the interrogation did not go well. They dumped him into his cell and locked it and left them alone. They rushed to Sasuke, but of course, the bars were blocking them…
Sasuke's shirt was bloody at the back and he had scars everywhere. His mouth was bleeding and they could tell from his grunts he had a few broken ribs. Karin would have healed him… if only she could reach him. Problem was, she was right across Sasuke's cell, which was a good deal away from it. Sasuke coughed out a few drops of blood and wiped of his lips with his hand. As soon as he managed to sit up, all he could do was stare at his teammates…
"Sasuke, what happened?" Juugo was the first to speak up, but Sasuke remained silent, "What did they want?"
"It's plain obvious isn't it?" Suigetsu butted and stared at Sasuke's form, "They want information about the Akatsuki."
"Demo why go to such lengths?" Karin muttered as she stared helplessly at Sasuke's form. Both boys stared back at Sasuke, waiting for him to answer until he finally let out a sigh and stood up shakily from where he had been sitting…
"Konoha's a pathetic excuse for a village… its ninjas is a very good embodiment." He replied, "This is what they call a desperate measure through desperate times." He finished and looked out the bars, leading outside where he could see the watcher…
"What do you mean?" Karin asked, and he looked at them…
"Konoha's preparing for war… so are the other nations." He said and looked back outside, "It's only a matter of time before Akatsuki will strike…" he then placed his lips outside the barred window he had and let out a whisper, "And then it's our turn to strike back…"
Short? I know… it was meant to become short… oh well. I wonder what it really is Sasuke is up to… but hold on until the war then maybe all your questions will be answered :3 until then, watch out for chapter 26… as the beginning of the war is about to start :D
Until next time! ;)
